Accurate and Helpful 5/5
It’s a must have app for Boston commuters using the T.
Don’t rely on this app 2/5
By Direct fan
This app is often inaccurate by at least 1-2 minutes and sometimes tells you nothing at all. It will say 6 mins til the next train but then jump to 2, not helpful. Also it would be even more helpful if it told you expected time of arrival on the other end... still needs a lot of work.... at least it’s free... otherwise I would want my $& back.
Right on time 5/5
By Karanjah G.
As far as I can see this app is very reliable, typically the times are spot on but if the counter goes down to zero and the transportation has not arrived yet it will keep on resetting to give you the most correct time
Pointless for Green Line 2/5
By Kaz Riprock
What's the point of a countdown when it just keeps resetting to 60s when it is wrong?
Naw I'm good 1/5
I rather use google map
Completely inaccurate & unreliable 1/5
Absolutely terrible app. Timing is wrong roughly 60% of the time, often phantom busses never show up, and some do not even appear on the app at all. Imagine getting an Uber or taxi only to see a bus pulling up as you get in.
Best App for "Finding" Your Ride 5/5
This is the BEST App for Actually Finding where Your Bus OR Train is in Real Time! I Love It!! Awesome!!
Literally has never worked once for the bus
Pretty good reference for the T 4/5
By C G W
It's probably difficult to try to track the subways and buses here but this app does a pretty good job
Always uses location 1/5
Please add feature to only use location when app is in use.
Great for MBTA riders 5/5
By someone in boston
Helpful and elegant.
From time to time the bus schedule is off, but other than that I've had great luck planning my commutes to and from work.
Really good except 3/5
By Ear Sharpener
Location services aren't configured correctly, which is both a privacy and a battery conservation issue. Proxima-T is constantly polling for location, even when I leave the app. This app doesn't need to know my location when I'm not using it, so there should be an option under privacy settings for it to only be able to use location services when the app is open. But the only options are "Always" and "Never".
That aside, really well put together app!
Wrong bus schedule 3/5
I used to use this app often. I understand that making live bus schedule with all the updates is a hard work. After a few times missing my bus due to wrong update I found better App. "Transit" is way better! If you want a reliable updates don't bother installing ProximiT.
Gets the job done 5/5
Gives me accurate timing of my incoming buses. And is able to inform me ahead of time any T-issues pertaining to my subway line. So far...I'm well satisfied.
Nice app 5/5
By Sunetra Banerjee
Good app.. Very accurate
So far so good 4/5
I'm not used to 8-10 minute subway intervals, so the app has been very handy. I didn't test it everywhere yet, but the red line numbers are quite accurate so far
By Subway Steve!
Very helpful on the job!
Great App 5/5
Very useful to know real time bus and subway schedules! Easy to use and works great!
Loc while not using the app 1/5
You want my location while not using the app... that means you're either a crap developer or doing something too invasive. Uninstalled before I even used it.
Great for red, orange lines, not for green line 3/5
By Hipster Kale
According to ProximiT, there is never any upcoming service for the green line. This is quite anxiety provoking if you're at a terminus and need to get into the city.
Easy to use and accurate 5/5
By Coc clasher for 2 years
The app is easy to use and accurate, I love the simple design.
Excellent app 2/5
Thank you for this. Interface looks great, is intuitive, has most everything you need to figure out your trip. Seems to be very accurate with the timing but I'll have to test it on the notoriously unreliable CT2
Update: CT2 updates are extremely unreliable. Please fix.
By Heath hen
...since it is never correct on trains, what's the point? Maybe they go by schedule, in which case: what's the point?
Looks useful but can't limit location services 2/5
I don't need another app tracking location all the time. It's a privacy problem and uses battery. No thanks
Green Line Update 1/5
None of the green line stations have any times going to Lechmere. Only heath street. I thought maybe if I download it and reload it it would fix the problem and it didn't.
I love it 5/5
I love that it has both bus and subway schedules
Change Location Settings 1/5
I would give this app 5 stars, except their location settings are Never and Always. When they change the settings to While Using, I will update my review.
Pros include a countdown timer to train/bus arrival, very helpful. And a great way to save frequently used routes.
The best one I've used thus far 3/5
Not bad! Better than most but, considering that what's out there in terms of mbta tracking apps is not that reliable, it could still be better. I gave it a solid 3 stars but sometimes it performs better than that. Hopefully, future upgrades will make it even better!
Time not accurate 2/5
Will tell you train is going to be in here in 2mins then resets and says another 3 min which is still wrong smh
Very inaccurate in ways that it seems to only predict the arrival of some trains
Pretty good overall 4/5
By Major Harris 333
I downloaded this app because a friend recommended it for making the bus on time, and it's definitely helped wit this. My only complaint is that it's not always accurate and sometimes screws me over on the way to school.
Exactly what I was looking for! 5/5
By € Gary €
Love the design and capabilities. I get out of my car at Sullivan and never know whether to run or not. This app tells me exactly when the next couple of trains are coming for nearby stations, leveraging the real time info provided by the MBTA. So cool! Thank you!
Good stuff 4/5
Pretty good. If you're at the either end of each T line though, it tells you when the train arrives at the station rather than when it departs. Trains typically sits at Oak Grove for about five minutes for example so as long as you take that into account.
App crashes when feeds are down 4/5
Contact me Jeff for a call stack.
Otherwise it's a great app. Though I did like the previous version UI better for the redline alternating southbound destinations
Missed my bus 1/5
Not real time. Just based on schedule and in Boston that doesn't mean sh*t. Useless for buses.
By Phillies Phan from LA
The time icons are MEANINGLESS. I wish Boston busses showed up when this app says they do. Especially the #1 bus.
Helpful and easy to use 4/5
I use this every time I take the T, especially the bus by my house so I don't have to stand out in the cold. Very helpful...not perfect but definitely handy.
My go-to app for the T these days 4/5
By Darren Torpey
I use this every day now for subway and bus. Super accurate and easy to use.
Super timely and useful info 5/5
By Dave J Smith
I didn't even know I needed this app until I opened it. So handy when I'm heading to/from work and need to decide which bus to grab or whether to sprint to the t station.
Not bad my fave right now 4/5
I like it generally. Convenient. Don't completely trust the down to the second arrival times.
Version 2 Broke GeoFencing 3/5
ProximiT has been one of my favorite apps - it's great to have my watch ping as I approach a T stop, letting me know if I need to hurry. Unfortunatey, a problem with version 2 under iOS 10 has rendered it more annoying than useful. I now get notifications for both the D and C Green Line stops set as favorites while sitting in my house, a quarter mile away from either. The previous version only triggered as I came within 100 feet or so of the stop. It now swamps the notifications page on my iPhone and constantly pings my watch.
Works better then the MBTA 5/5
It rock solid
I love it 5/5
It works perfectly for the subway.
I wish it worked for the commuter rail and was able to tell us which track the train will be boarding on (at South Station).
I wish this app wouldn't lie to me. It counts down and then tells me that the bus will arrive in 1 minute but it never shows. I think it's because the app has the schedule loaded and is going by that if it can't find the bus via gps. It's ridiculous to be told that the bus is coming in 1 min when it isn't especially in inclement weather.
Don't like the update 2/5
I'm not a fan of the update. The whole reason this was my go-to app was because it said the number of stops away a train is, unlike the official MBTA app (Transit) which uses minutes. But now this app has minutes too, which is way less accurate since it can't account for how long it will take for people to get on and off, and it can't account for traffic (on the Green Line). So I'm pretty annoyed.
Make your ride 5/5
This app is super easy to use and it highly accurate.
Great design! 5/5
Great update! Glad you added in bus support. This app is a solid 5-stars now.
By Allie, movie affcionado
The app so far has predicted when the Green Line trains will arrive with great accuracy. More accurate than the Ts own tracking.
