Can't get back to main screen 2/5
The quality of the digital versions are superb. However, once a magazine issue is selected, I can't get back to the main screen to select a different issue.

Just as another user has stated- sign in - sign out and read the tiny little numbers on my subscription tab on paper magazine, enter them - add name - password - and I should be in, right? NOPE - it asks for it all over again... just how dense am I that I did this about 6 or 7 times thinking I had done something wrong - I know, it’s embarrassing just how dense - oh my. So what’s up - you are stating we have access to both paper and digital with our subscriptions - so far this is not true. Either change your statement and your advertising or fix the problem - as this is FALSE ADVERTISING at this point.

In order for me to see my subscribed issues, I have to delete the app, then reload it, then sign in again. Then I can open whatever issue I want, but as soon as I am in that issue, I can’t get back to the main screen. At which point I have to do the whole process over again. I sent an email to support about this a while ago but have not heard back. Love the print magazine, but the app is lacking; and since I travel a bit I like to have the option of seeing my issues in digital. The only reason why o have a second star is because the quality of the digital issue is good and the navigation within issue is good.

Sign out. Sign in again. Repeat. No use. The app wants money for a subscription I already have. Past issues are sitting there in the app, but forget about the current one. Why? It accepted my user name. It accepted my password. Didn’t it?

I am sorry this app is good for nothing but trying to sell me 5 dollar digital issues of the great magazine. And i know a great magazine does not happen for free but c'mon...... Allowing us to preview a few pages... Thats it?

Free access is nothing valuable when you try to sign in but keep getting a "can't contact the server" message - and that's ONLY when signing in! Have deleted and reloaded this piece of garbage app over and over. My advice is to move on - nothing to see here (literally!).

I can't see the issue cover of the January issue in either the store or my library. The photography and content is fantastic.

App looks nice, but both new and old issues download very slowly, and not in the background. Restarting partial downloads isn't very reliable.

I am really disappointed with this issue and the layout. The cover picture was about ultimate roasts? Well, buy a pre-cooked ham and glaze it friends. That's the sum and substance of their cover. The recipes are scrunched into three columns on a page or two. Plenty of room for ads though. This issue wasn't worth $.25

I love Saveur magazine but his app is so consistently poor I will have to drop my subscription. Of all the magazines I subscribe to, this app is hands-down the worst. It feels like Saveur has written-off the iPad version.

Are they asleep at the wheel. I truly expected more from Saveur. Does not seem that they even updated the app to support IOS8. When I tried to download the October issue (side note: it was downloaded and accessible before I updated to 8) I get the above error.
Does Saveur not realize that they will lose subscribers? Sadly, if this is not fixed soon I will cancel my subscription.

IOS 8 problems downloading 3/5
My magazines were working fine on iPhone and iPad. But after upgrading both to iOS 8, the download button stopped working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Happens on both iPhone and iPad. Also happens on my Smithsonian and Cook's illustrated magazines. So their underlying app framework must be the cause. Hoping a new update is on its way. Strange that googling the issue comes up with nada. Am I the only one?

LOVED this magazine, print and digital. Been subscribing for over 10 years. When I had the option of adding the digital subscription, I jumped at the chance. All was wonderful until the recent upgrade. I currently have no access to my digital issues that I paid for. After 3 emails to them over the past week and a half, I finally received a response- change your password. Even after I told them I tried this and it didn't work. I am losing all faith. I waited to write this review hoping they would help but no such luck. My recommendation- don't purchase until they fix this!
What the h--- is the matter with you people? Your incompetence with online logistics is in such contrast with the quality of the print publication. I suppose its a different department. Its a department that requires complete reorganization.

12 year print subscriber, 2 year iPad reader, and now we need two different apps to see/read the magazine? That is crazy! Worse is that the new app doesn't recognize my account, won't let me download the August Edition, nor enable a changed password. Fix it, make it functional again, it was wonderful reading old issues and current ones on the iPad - no EVERYTHING is a mess and not functioning. What prompted you to change and break relationships? Not a happy SUBSCRIBER now.

So far, the above will not download. I waited over 45 minutes for the publication, having given up my Zinio when this app came out, all to no avail??? Other past editions download O.K.

High hopes but the new account experience is a disaster. Two apps for old and current issues, can't get password reset to work, web service errors out and using my print acct# gave me access to someone else's account. My digital subscription is DOA until they fix their account system.
I LOVE the new app! I was able to restore purchases seamlessly, and the download was really fast! Good job, Saveur! The magazine is so much nicer to read! Now, I am not going to cancel my subscription.
I would give zero stars if I could. New (updated) app won't download new issues and requires you install a SEPARATE app to look at your previously purchased and downloaded issues - and you apparently have to redownload them, although I can't get "restore previous purchases" to work. Hopeless.

I really enjoy the magazine however, it would be a great addition and perk for all of us loyal followers to have an index for all of the recipes and articles. That way we could find what we are looking for, click on it and boom we have it.

This is merely an app to purchase past issues, two to three bucks a pop. Pretty beat.... Their Flipboard articles are great however.

Badly designed app. Crashes continually.
As a magazine it has a decent blend of content with supportive ads - as a digital feature it takes advantage of the viewer in an almost abusive way - ads are foremost every other page and content harder to read - and any content designer would think to link the listed web links. Poor implementation at a higher cost than the hard copy magazine.
Do your self a favour and wait till they respect the digital reader for what other magazines and newspapers "get" - a few links within the pages of a PDF file doesn't cut it anymore.

I won't pay for this again, even though I pay year after year for the print version. And the mobile site doesn't let me save recipes at all. I get a very long error message. Seems like a classy magazine would want to have a fully functioning mobile site in this mobile era. Too bad it doesn't.

I have a subscription for the printed version and I love the magazine. I didn't realize that I would have to pay more for the digital version. I can't believe you want me to pay more. None of the other magazines that I subscribe to are like this. You are going to be losing customers I believe.

After reading others' reviews I agree why would I want to pay more ...the magazine itself is expensive and full of ads.... The only magazine that's worth a crap is Cook’s... No ads if anything very helpful ....rest of the junk out there is full of ads for crap I don't need...

I have been a print subscriber for years. You want me to pay additional for the digital version. Why would I pay twice for the same content. Where is your customer appreciation? Other magazines reward their print subscribers.

I used to subscribe to the magazine and loved it. I thought the app would be great but it has been such a disappointment. I'm calling itunes to find out how I can cancel this. I have not been able to read one single magazine. Save your money or donate it to the nearest food pantry.
Content is good but app keeps crashing. I hot charged a retail price when I am a subscriber too.
