Too many issues to stay 1/5
The 3.99 Plus was great. Had several issues here and there; I tried Pandora last month only to come back this month and find out the they removed offline listening from Plus. So not paying 3.99 for what I can get free, minus the unlimited skips. Seriously, 3.99/mo for unlimited skips. No warning it was changing? I’ll pay more somewhere else if I have to.
Don’t upgrade! Actually don’t DL App! 1/5
You may think the lowest subscription will be good, it’s not! I tried upgrading same day I got lowest sub, guess what? Charged for both no refund. Cancelled cheaper sub, guess what?! Charged again next month for both! Wrote my woes, Slacker says they can’t do sh*t about it. 40$ wasted no refunds.
Slacker is a group o 1/5
Just like the many slacker users, they really messed me up! I originally purchased the app thru my android phone ( which continually malfunctioned) and then purchased an Apple product. This change in slacker products makes it certain that I will not be using them anymore . With the android device you can purchase any app no matter how much it is unsafe. With Apple devices you have to purchase thru I Tunes . Because I no longer have the android phone i cannot upgrade to the newest slacker app. I cannot use my off line tunes that I used because wi-if and phone service is not everywhere I am. Slacker could just close my android app and then I could upgrade, but no ! Does any one know of a better app that also includes off line cashing?
Upgrade for offline at more that twice the price! 1/5
Been a Slacker subscriber for about 10 yrs now. $3.99 for “plus” got you offline play. Now they decide to more than double the price ($9.99 for premium)
Good bye Slacker
Best internet radio app 5/5
I've tried them all. Nothing beats Slacker. I have the Alternative, New Country, or Today's Hits stations going all day at work. Best 4 bucks a month I spend!
Update 1-12-18: I wrote this review years ago, and it’s still true
No Offline and Bad Support 1/5
Lost offline feature and contacted support. Had them cancel my subscription and they acknowledged. Found out on my own that subscription is not really cancelled and contacted my mobile carrier to cancel. Was a subscriber since 2010. Terrible customer service. They said they emailed about the change. Why not let people know in app instead? Company is going down the drain!

Slackers Gone Down Hill 1/5
As many others I’m leaving slacker cause they took away offline listening in the $3.99 plus subscription. This feature helped me tons without having to use my 2gigs of LTE on music streaming unfortunately due to corporate greed most likely gonna go to Pandora plus this does include a limited but offline mode. Whoever made this change made a huge mistake.

No offline for 3.99 - no good.
No more offline content, no more customer 1/5
Sneakily removed offline content functionality from Plus subscription service. No notification and no reduction in fee for removing functionality. Disappointing because I used to like slacker. I have canceled my subscription and will not be back.
Love slacker 1/5
We live in Alaska and do a lot of flying out of State and to remote sites for work and We have a remote cabin with no internet. I most enjoyed that I could cache music for long weekends and flights when we have no internet. But now some greedy exec wants more money for the option that was the best part. And the worst part was they never said a thing. I did the usual update and without warning my account was locked. I will cancel my subscription immediately.
Not Great But 2/5
Light years ahead of pandora
Why slacker why? NO STARS!! 1/5
Without notice you change the service so that in order to listen offline I now need to pay an extra $6 a month?? Why I ask? Why?
Been a customer for YEARS! And this is how I’m treated? Done! cancelling my subscription!!!
Better than pandora 5/5
Keep up the good work slacker
Great! But needs some work 3/5
I love this app! It’s a solid music service that I wish more people used over Spotify, in which the iOS app is just awful, (I’m using the premium service for background in my review). The interface is fun and jumpy, the animations are as I would describe them, fun! The music sounds great and a huge bonus, the album art is BIG, and that is amazing! The problems though, I can’t easily find the music I want, I searched a certain song and it would play a different version of it, I know how to find the one I want, but come on guys. Another huge issue is what feels like a lack of music, I can’t find many of the songs I listen to on a daily basis, that’s frustrating. Lastly, the offline playback, it’s honestly just the worst. I hate it asking whether I want to stream it or play it off my device, I just want it to play. And when I am offline, I want the big artwork to NOT be fuzzy and just distracting. Another issue is just that the music doesn’t load and play very quickly, it takes a bit for it to load, even if it’s saved. The loading of stuff offline isn’t difficult, but more strenuous than it need be. I would like to see some of this stuff improved on please. I will keep the premium subscription if you can!
Excelente selección 5/5

La calidad del sonido y el manejo son excelentes
Very disappointing 1/5
I’ve had slacker radio for a years and have totally enjoyed the app. last night Jan 4 2018 got the biggest screwing I’ve ever gotten. The entire time I had Slacker radio I’ve been paying 3.99 for slacker plus which gave me commerical free music as well as being able to download slacker stations for off line listening. Apparently Slacker decided to take away the off line listing from the plus option and make you upgrade to Slacker premium. Thanks for the warning. I have canceled my membership but have to wait 30 days for the cancellation to take effect. so now I have to pay for something I don’t want.
Thanks Slacker radio Management happy new year to you too.
Love it 1/5
Thanks to changing the subscription to $10 for offline listening, you have now lost a long time customer. No notice or anything.
Loss of offline 1/5
By Crash daily
I have the paid subscription, ( 3.99 ) for add skipping and offline content. It wasn't the best source but for the price it had great value. However with this last update it didn't say you are losing the ability to fly with slacker. I'm searching now for something else. It's sad i really liked slacker.
Never again 1/5
Started with MILK powered by Slacker and loved it $3.99 custom and fine tune radio add artist to your station great non stop music and the choice to turn on hear radio announcer or not, turn it on or off it was your choice.. Well.....? Don’t expect any of that with Slacker for $9.99 pay more to see “we are not licensed to play that song.” Metallica enter sand man or Sisqo Thong song to name a couple, (I have a long list) these two were very popular songs for the time that I can’t hear on Slacker for $9.99 :(
But I can hear ALL my songs on Spotify for $9.99 unrestricted.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
My monthly payment 1/5

I have been paying 2times per month one time slacker directly deduct from my cc account and other time apple charge me for membership of slacker
Please look at my account and let me know
Consider other options 2/5

Like other reviews here, i am highly disappointed that offline listening has been removed from the $3.99/mo, slacker plus subscription. $10/mo is too steep. As much as i hate to say this, cuz i love slacker, now considering ditching it. Bummer!
Offline stations 1/5
Offline stations are no longer offered on the $3.99 a month plus. I did not receive any previous notice. So now I have to pay $6.00 more a month for offline listening. I will be canceling my subscription.
No offline listening with paid subscription 1/5
$3.99 Plus subscription had offline listening. Slacker removed this feature and now wanted more than double to get it back. Attempted to contact Slacker about this and was treated as if they could care less if I was a customer or not. Apparently paying for their content isn’t needed. Must be making a killing in advertising, so I will no longer be using this app, received refund from iTunes, and cancelled auto renew subscription today. I bet another app will appreciate a paying user and not offer paid features that they will take away and not lower the price. You can’t take away a feature and expect me to pay the same price.
No offline access for Plus members anymore 3/5
My Plus membership used to allow me to listen to music in offline mode. For $3.99 per month that seemed reasonable. That’s no longer available to Plus members - now they want me to upgrade for $10 per month. Ridiculous. I’ll use Amazon Prime music to download songs now and will be cancelling my Slacker membership.
Loss of Offline Listening in Plus 2/5
Like many, I left Pandora a few years ago in search of something better. I was tired of listening to the same old things, the price just to remove ads, and those limited skips. I finally found Slacker, 3.99 a month for Plus subscription, featuring unlimited skips, no ads, and the BEST thing was offline listening for work travel or when reception was poor. It wasn’t uncommon to have minor issues with the app, but those were mostly just mildly annoying and often times addressed in the next update. Today I go to listen to my offline playlist as usual and was given a notification that I would have to upgrade to a Premium subscription to enjoy offline listening. What?? I did a bit of digging and realized that the Plus subscription has removed offline listening from its list of perks. Really?? It’s worse that I wasn’t even given a warning or a quick email/notification. They just changed it. $4 a month was the perfect sweet spot for what I got, but I don’t think it’s worth $10 per month. I find myself a bit distrustful of the way they went about it. I wouldn’t have been terribly upset if they increased their rate $1-2 per month with notice but to jump $6 a month? No way. Now I get to start doing some research again into switching music apps.
Slacker radio 5/5
I live there selection of music is awesome I would recommend it!
Love the app, but... 2/5
Certain ads cause songs to stop every few seconds after pressing play again. So annoying.
Plus subscription no longer allows offline music 1/5
By Wausau user
Slacker has been great but for my $4 a month I played offline content the most. Now plus no longer includes this and I'd have to pay $10 a month for offline capability. Going to cancel subscription. Disappointed in the price change.

Want more of the artist station I picked
Was awesome, now won't open 1/5
Long time listener, what the hell happened? Used to be the best radio but now it's crap. Barely works and making me frustrated! Crashed multiple times while writing this. Tech support no help either, I made every change recommended still crashing. Can we go back in time to when it worked?
This is why people hate apps 1/5
So you kill aol radio. Then you must download yet another cheesy app. Then of course once you down load 1 star app you have to sign in. Slacker- no thanks. Yet another cheese app.
Latest version crashes frequently 2/5
This latest version keeps crashing my phone before can even complete a song… And then, of course, I get presented with an annoying video ad upon restarting.
iPhone 8 is the device in question. Please fix!
Needs volume control in app 4/5
No volume control
Wonderful App!! 5/5
Slacker does an amazing job of keeping the party going! It's like there is a tiny DJ who live in the app but also can read you mind lol KEEP IT UP SLACKER!
Slacker was good, now not so much 1/5
By Fidelio 360
I have used slacker radio since the beginning. In fact I had a slacker radio MP3 player for offline listening. I was their biggest fan. Now they have taken away their popular and only reason for me to stay, the plus subscription. You used to be able to download offline music and listen to it at higher quality and unlimited skips. Now they want 10 bucks a month. Also if you are a legacy customer they are taking away functionality. I see they are learning from EA and just squeezing people for money. I will get my music from elsewhere you should too their service is just a push for money! STAY AWAY!
One of the greatest! 5/5
By I heart Sonic
Loving this so far.
Awesome radio 5/5
I can browse through virtually any music that suits my mood and listen in on thousands of selections. I no longer listen to regular radio in my car. No commercials to bore through. Slacker is awesome!!
They reduced reduced features and would not credit me back 1/5
By Andrew in exile
I signed up for the Plus plan which included ability to download stations to my phone and paid for a full year in advance. Six months in (11/30/17) Slacker sends me an email that downloads will not be included, effective immediately and that they automatically enrolled me in the new, less featured Plus plan for an extra six months.
The ONLY reason I signed and paid for Plus was downloads. Frank at Support was outstanding; if only the business planning team thought about customers as much.
I would not recommend Slacker based on their poor commitment to plans and their buggy updates.
Love it! 5/5
Prefer this app over any other radio apps. Used it for about 5 years. I pay for the monthly subscription, well worth it in my opinion. Keep up the good work.
Dropping Premium accounts 1/5
After multiple years of good service, I surrender. Deleting both premium subscriptions and the app from each device. Worst customer service ever.
Day 14, slacker breaks my wife’s account. Very very poor service. Daily emails, 2 responses, neither one regarding MY account.
Update: Day 11 with my broken Premium subscription. No new responses from Slacker.
Update: Day 8, nothing. Still Premium not working, Slacker will not respond to emails.
Update: Day 4, finally get an email directing me to use my wife’s account. My account info I sent was not even mentioned. Terrible customer service for a long-time premium subscriber.
The free 2 week premium offer has broken my current premium membership. It know I am a premium subscriber, so I cannot update, yet I cannot access my content without subscribing. Terrible catch 22. Please fix.
The offline play is by far the best feature of the app. I can listen on the road and at work without data streaming. I hope the lyrics come back soon.
Great music that gets me through my day!
More variety please. 4/5
By Emcg Mohegan Lake
Song selections are great, but could use more variety on each station.
Great app 5/5
Thank you Slacker for the great content!
So long Slacker Radio 1/5
By Bri NJ
I have supported Slacker Radio from its beginning & will longer do so since you can no longer download on Slacker Plus. I am not paying $9.99 for Slacker Premium for an extremely small library of songs compared to the competition! I don’t see your service being around much longer!!
By Ozzie Rules
Nothing beats this app. Take some time to make custom stations and a play list and you'll wonder how you were able to live without it. Slacker rules!
What’s with the sign in function? 2/5
I’ve had to log out 9 out of the last 10 times I’ve opened the app. This app worked great at first but now it’s just annoying. I’ve since just given up and uninstalled.
Slacker recently replaced AOL Radio. NO COMPARISON! You now must pay $3.99/mo. for what used to be free on AOL. For example, on AOL, I could pick genres or decades, say “British Invasion”, get ALL songs by Beatles, Stones, Who, Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds, Badfinger, Dave Clark 5, Hendrix, Herman’s Hermits, Cream, Donovan, Hollies, Moody Blues, et al, the REAL Brits. Now, on Slacker, I choose British Invasion and I get one “almost” Brit song, then new American stuff that has nothing to do with Brit Invasion of late 60’s early 70’s. Terrible, I will delete the app. Please come back AOL Radio, I listened to you for many years!
Slacker Rocks! 5/5
Good selection 5/5
I rarely have time to listen to the radio but when I do I listen to Slacker Radio. I prefer it over the others I’ve tried. It seems to have the best selection of music for all ages.
