Update for Apple Watch, please!
This works and tracks sleep pretty well. I dislike the cost and also the premium sleep sounds are a bit ridiculous. Happy sleeping.
Love the app but didn't want premium 4/5
By The Duncher
I love this app, however if you don't want to pay for premium don't use their free trial. I started the trial to see if my iPad would work better than my FREE android phone app of the same name and same developer. However I promptly forgot to cancel the subscription and after I was charged could not find out how to ask for a refund and cancel the subscription. The developer and Apple have fixed this now.
By Rycm 1
29.99 a year for premium? A YEAR? That's terrible? If you guys switch it over
to a one time payment of anything. Even $50 or $100 people would buy it. But a yearly rate for an alarm clock is so bad and almost upsetting. Please rethink what your charging people, it could really change the amount of money you make from this app in a good way.
Really helps with wake up 5/5
I can tell the difference in how I feel when it wakes me up closer to the top of the cycle. Does not miss on hard wake up though
By Dr. Dan K The Daytripper
Wish more premium features were available for free, like the alarm noises
Latest version is phishing... 1/5
Immediately after launching the latest version of the app, it asks for my iTunes account password. No app should ever ask for that, only access to microphone or camera or other privacy items. Instead, it’s using a technique documented by Felix Krause. I just renewed my annual subscription too, now I want a full refund.
Extended sleep the same day. 5/5
Love Sleep Cycle. Wish I could continue the same night sleep when I do not hav to wake up after my assigned wake up time. Or afternoon nap. Just saying you should build in that option.
Pretty good, not sure it’s $30 good 4/5
I like being able to track my sleeping patterns, I have a very stressful job and have been working to offset the stress with measurable interventions. I have only used this a couple weeks so I’m not sure this is a metric that will help but I know I’m disappointed in the pricey additional apps and the sizable yearly cost of this one. Time will tell if I go premium or not, but I have some reservations.
Excellent app for tracking sleep 5/5
I use this app for monitoring how much sleep I am getting, but it is excellent in several other things also. Do you ever wake up and still don’t feel rested? Do you ever wonder why? Do you sleep alone and wonder if you are snoring? Do you wonder if you just had a mild bad dream or two or were you tossing and turning all night like it felt? This app can help you answer those questions. It has a microphone that monitors your snoring, when, how much, for the premium you can even hear how you sound. It also monitors the depth of your sleep, maybe you got 8 hours, but never went into a deep sleep, still waking tired. It monitors your sleep cycles. It gives you an average of how much sleep you are actually getting. AND it actually seems to do all those things it said it would. I have found this app remarkable
Great aid to see how you sleep 5/5
Good way to track sleep!!
Home bar stays on all night 3/5
The home bar on iPhone X stays on all night which will eventually cause screen damage. I used this app everyday for years but haven’t since upgrading my phone. Once the developers hide the home bar I’ll start using it again.
Better than your old alarm. 5/5
I’ve had this app for over a year, and while added features and waiting for data to add up made me eager, it was so worth it! I bought premium when it was cheaper (😈) and I do agree with everyone that it should be a one time fee payment for premium.
Aside from that, I love seeing that I sleep best during full moon phases or sleep awfully when I travel to Washington D.C.
It’s extremely accurate when you have it set up right, and it has never not woken me up. My apple alarm constantly fails me. I can choose what timeframe the SleepCycle app can wake me up. I prefer 15 minutes, but sometimes it changes.
Great app, really helpful.
An app of the past 2/5
No longer supports heart rate function on the iPhone X. Was a nice app.
Heart rate on iPhone 8 1/5
Does not work. I have used the heart rate monitor on my previous iPhone 6 with no problem and now that I changed to the 8 the camera may be too improved for the monitor or my camera is not compatible with the version of sleep cycle. I am a premium user and would like to continue using this app. All instructions were followed in several attempts to remedy this problem. I also notice many reviews date back to a year or more ago. Is there a recent update to correct this problem going forward to 2018 and the iPhoneX?
This app is helping me to improve the quality of my sleep because I can track what factors effect the quality.
Great alarm clock 4/5
This app fascinates me. I’m not sure I believe the statistics that it keeps but I look at them every morning. Some nights I have slept so well and it gives me a low sleep quality rating. Other nights I slept like crap and it gives me a high rating. Regardless, it’s fun to see how much I’ve been snoring especially in hotels with the kids who claim it was all night. I just show them the app and it was usually, supposedly, always less than 2 hours. I like playing the recordings back too. I like slow wake up alarm and that I only need to jiggle the phone to snooze. That works so well for me. The alarm is reliable.
Only missing 1 thing. 4/5
I would like to play my music track lists or stations through Apple Music.
Prevents vibrations and charging chirp 1/5
For some reason, if Sleep Cycle is active then my phone will not vibrate. At all. Not even if I flip the mute switch. Also, my phone will not chirp when I plug it in. This leads to me having to physically check to make sure my phone is plugged in. I’m deleting the app until this problem is fixed. It’s nonsense.
Actually life changing 5/5
By Tori Field
I love this app. I use it every night. I don’t understand how or why it works but when it goes off I can pop right up and start my day. Am I perfect? No, sometimes I snooze a little longer just for funsies. But I can honestly say this app improves my quality of life. 10/10 would recommend
Great Alarm App 5/5
By Da Rick
I have yet to wake up in a bad mood while using this app. Whenever it wakes me up I feel well rested.
Good for free use 5/5
Make sure you are logged in on you Philips hue app...sometimes the app will log you out. This will fix the problem mentioned below. Now rated 5 stars
Loved the idea and using it while free. I just started my free premium month because I got philips hue bulbs that I wanted to have connect with the app...long story short, the the app does not dim the lights when you start the alarm and does not turn the lights on when your alarm goes off. I looked for a way to contact support but spent too long looking around so I gave up. Hopefully a developer can reach out to me to help me fix this issue...because this is the only functionality that will make me want to spend $30 a year on the app
Worth every penny!!! 5/5
By Jusbein Onnist
Nothing comes close, tried them all and Sleep Cycle by far is the best. I’ve been able to see a direct correlation in stress to the quality of sleep I get. When the evidence is in front of you, it’s hard to ignore. If I could give 10/5 stars I would!
Used to be great, could be again. 2/5
I’ve used this app every night for YEARS with no problem until the iOS 11 update. I’ve overslept twice this month because the app has crashed. That is strike two.
By Raging Blast
Helps me wake up energized almost every day.
This is 5/5
By Misho Jackson
the most useless review you'll see.
App stopped working with iPhone X 1/5
This app worked perfect on my iPhone 7s Plus but it won’t work on my iPhone X at all. I’ve been really bummed about that. I had to try a different app due to the problem.
I love this app 5/5
By queen stacks
I definitely feel like I’m getting more sleep, but I’m actually still waking up at the same time everyday, I love this app and I’m definitely going to keep using it and recommend it to others!
Invaluable by far the best app I’ve ever used for sleep 5/5
Why? Because it knows what to do. I never knew I had a trouble with snoring. It didn’t ask me if I did it just said plug on the phone place it this way exactly and go to sleep. The next day it said here’s when you snore, here’s what it sounds like. Here’s when you wake up and here’s how often your up and down, here when you have good sleep. Trouble getting to sleep us here, so pick some sleepy sounds and we’ll play them until you doze off every night. I mean crazy good analysis and solutions
Only flaw? Premium’s a bit pricey 5/5
I adore this app. My mother is a pediatrician who uses this app for herself every night, and we love the little extra widgets that get thrown in, such as lunar cycle and temperature.
Unfortunately, despite having family sharing turned on, I can’t seem to restore the premium features my mom has access to. But truthfully, it doesn’t really detract from the usefulness all that much.
Admittedly, this app isn’t life-changing. It’s not going to make your sleep instantly become perfect every night. But it sure is neat to see your own trends, to a degree of accuracy that seems to be able to filter out background noise when analyzing you. Very impressive, very neat, maybe just a tad overpriced. But five starts!
Alarm needs work 4/5
I like everything about this app except the alarm. I set a time I want to get woke up and the picks a time it thinks you need to wake up. Set the alarm for 0430 this morning and the alarm went off at 0400. It gives you a time frame of when the alarm will go off, not the time you have the alarm set for.
Works great 5/5
By Gem for
The alarm is so annoying in the morning but it never fails
Pulse does not work on iPhone X 2/5
Pulse does not work consistently with iPhone X. I have to try multiple times until it reads.
Great app. But one issue. 4/5
I love the app a lot. Really does a lot to help. But it takes priority with Bluetooth headphones and you can't listen to YouTube videos while the app is running. Could the devs fix this?
Long Time User, Suddenly Major Changes to Use, Best a Features Gone... 1/5
By BroncoPilot 07
I have loved this app for many years. I especially loved the fact that it silenced all other alerts except other alarms and phone calls. Suddenly, that’s no longer the case. No option, no choice. It also seems to no longer wake me up within my chosen window. I used to know exactly when it would get me up because I came alert and it sounded nearly simultaneously every time. Now it goes right to the alarm time every time. The best things about this are gone. Might as well use a normal alarm and place the phone off the bed somewhere because alerts right next to my head in the middle of the night are not conducive to good sleep...
Great design, and I really love the sleep notes and sound monitoring as well. I tried the premium for one month for free and backed up my data. I recently changed my phone just after the trial period ended but when I restored my subscription for $9.99/3months I was able to log in and restore my data/settings. Definitely recommend as a sleep tracker and for a gradual alarm.
Good, but some minor complaints 4/5
I used this app regularly several years ago because I have chronic, recurring insomnia and I found it helpful. I stopped using it during a particularly bad bout of insomnia—mainly because the app was unable to differentiate between when I was actually sleeping and when I was just lying still trying to sleep. I realize that’s asking a lot from an app (I’m not even sure it’s possible) and I didn’t hold it against the app, but I stopped using it because a lot of the data and feedback I got back was off and not helpful. Last week, I started using it again in conjunction with some of the other health apps on my iPhone. They’ve added a lot of features since I used it last that I really like (being able to switch off the alarm mode, the heart rate monitor, snore recording, etc...). It really is an amazing, and useful, app. But, I have a few problems: 1. Some of the graphs and charts don’t have enough context, so I’m not sure how to make sense (or use) of them (the air pressure one is especially puzzling). Is there an explanation of these graphs and how to read them that I’m missing? 2. I clicked the weather option, but it never shows me the weather in the morning (1 & 2 aren’t huge deals, just annoying) 3. This is the key one—I wish it could give me a read out of time asleep vs. time in bed (I swear it used to that, along with time spent in each sleep cycle, but maybe I’m misremembering). I often read in bed before I go to sleep, so it counts however much time I’m reading towards my overall time and sleep score. If I’m still or breathing slowly for a longer than 5-10 minutes, it tracks that as sleep (even though I’m awake and reading!). I know I could just turn the app on when I turn off the light to go to sleep instead of when I crawl into bed to read, but turning my phone on when I’m relaxed and ready to sleep disrupts my flow. I could work out approximate times from the nightly graph, but having the “time in bed” and “time asleep” listed separately would help me to process the data quicker and more accurately. Also, knowing that it doesn’t differentiate between the two, I’m not sure how accurate the sleep score is. I got a higher sleep score for the night I was in bed 8 hours, but only actually slept 2, than the night I was in bed 5 hours and slept most of that five hours. Things like that are why I stopped using the app before. I could benefit greatly from this information and feedback, but if it’s consistently imprecise, or I can’t understand it in context, than it’s not really helpful. I know there’s not much that can be done about tracking reading and lying still as sleep, but separating out “time asleep” from “time in bed”, and knowing how the sleep score is factored, would be really helpful! One other thing that might be helpful is space to write notes when I wake up. That would help me track of other things that would help me see patterns in my sleep–things like if I dreamed a lot or if I disagreed with my sleep score.
Still an Awesome App, Needs one update though! 4/5
I just bought an iPhone 8 and my app data moved right along with me. With the 8 came the ability to use Qi charging. The way the app works though is you have to plug your phone in and leave it on its face. You can Qi charge a phone lying on its face! App needs a setting to say, “I’m Qi charging, please turn your screen off if your right side up!”
This app is great. 5/5
By lexi aluco
This app is amazing. I wake up less tired now.
Love it! 5/5
By Veritas Sak
Love this app but having problems with the iPhone X. It won’t register a pulse. Any ideas?
Compatibility Apple Watch? 1/5
the application is very good but needs to be updated, it needs compatibility with the Apple Watch. 1 star, when compatible with Apple Watch will be 5 stars.
Great app, prohibitive cost 4/5
I love most of the features on this app, however Premium is too much for my budget. Would definitely enjoy a one-time purchase option for slightly less features, since I simply want to see my trends.
Excellent app 5/5
It has being helping me to wake up easier in the morning and I feel more rested when I awake since it wakes me up during my lighter sleep cycle
It is so 5/5

This helps me get up fine it's loud but not loud you can snooze it's amazing😻:) ;)
Doesn’t work 4/5
It picks up my husband’s snoring every night and use for analysis. So the data is essentially useless.
Just got a quick response from the developers. I’ll take the suggestion and turn off the snore detector, see if it’s better this time. Thanks.
Broken for iPhone X 1/5
By Bill Merchant
I loved this app and am a premium member, but it’s broken on iPhone X running 11.1.1. I set the alarm time, add sleep notes, then the app crashes. If I open the app again I’m back at the alarm set screen. Sometime the next morning I’ll get the alarm and the app reports to the Health app that I’ve slept 3 hours. Please fix it.
no iPhone X support - can’t leave displays on 1/5
AMOLED panels will burn in and this app doesn’t stay active unless the display is on.
You probably shouldn’t use if you have an iPhone X. You run major burn in and image retention risks.
