Less useful now I have a Fitbit 2/5
Integration with Apple Health and Fitbit steps / exercise data appears to not work. Exercise is a big driver of sleep quality. Since Fitbit has its own sleep data, this data integration bug has reduced the usefulness of Sleep Cycle bc I have to view that correlation in the other apps. As far as I can diagnose, the problem is with Sleep Cycle bc the Fitbit data is in Apple Health.
Not what I thought it was going to be 2/5

I paid for this app thinking I was getting the full app but there’s settings that you’re promoted to pay more to get. Those settings should already be included. Rip off app.
Don't fall for the quick free download u will be charged a fortune. It will be impossible to cancel and u can't get your money back!
Love Love Love 4/5
This app is an awesome app. It really works at walking me up at the best time so I am feeling like I can wake up. So many times in the past when my alarm has gone off and I wake up groggy. Not with this app. I. Am honestly say that it has worked every time.
I do wish they had it connect to my Apple Watch. That would make me put a 5 star rating if and when that will happen. I would be ecstatic if they could happen.
I love it, it tracks how you sleep and is very simple to use
Works very well.. 5/5
So far. Have only had it a few days. Will update my review periodically.
Not sure this is legit 1/5
Only used 3 nights so far but I’ve noticed I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and take note of the time. When I look at the app in the morning it shows I was asleep during the time I know that I was awake. If it’s that inaccurate then how can I trust this isn’t just a gimmicky toy??
why is there no go back to sleep option?? 3/5
sometimes i just need to wake up early to take medication but then i go right back to bed so i really really wish there was a way to turn the alarm off but keep tracking :( other than that i LOVE THIS APP i have the paid version and everything i’ve logged over 350 days but i’m just SO frustrated not being able to go back to sleep without messing up my stats!
Love this app 5/5
I've been using this every night for years and I find it really helps me wake up in lighter sleep and not be horribly groggy. The sleep aid sounds are nice too!
Love the app, hate warm breeze 4/5
By Erik stop annoying me
I've been using this app almost every night for over three years. It works and it's great to be able to look at the data it records. However there has been one annoyance keeping me from giving Sleep Cycle five stars: it keeps switching the song that wakes me to warm breeze, and I am so sick of hearing it. I set it to play my own music which works sometimes but it frequently switches to the boring repetitive stock music of warm breeze. I've noticed another review with the same issue and I wonder how many others have dealt with this.
TL;DR Wonderful app worth the price, one minor issue with the very annoying Warm Breeze song
It’s good but could be better 4/5
I wake just fine to alarms but what I like about this is that it finds the moment when I’m near light sleep to wake me making waking up easier. What I’d love to see is for the app to allow me to set it once, like a regular alarm, and don’t require me to have to start it every single night.
Almost perfect (no Apple Watch support) 3/5
By Messanger for Ipad
This app is amazing and I used it for a long time but the one thing that it is missing is Apple Watch support which could make this app even more accurate, I am
Moving on to another app but if they ever add Apple Watch support, I will definitely use it again
Amazing app- magical! 5/5
Records my snores and tells me how much deep sleep I got- amazing
Great app with one shortcoming 4/5
I love this app and have been using it for years. I wake up feeling refreshed, and enjoy understanding my sleep patterns and analysis.
Using the microphone to detect sleep analysis is great, but why does one HAVE to lay the phone flat? I’d love to get a dock to charge my phone at night, and with this option the Sleep Cycle light will never dim. At the very least, allow us to have the option of directional phone placement at night ☺️
Disables Bluetooth when alarm is set. 1/5
Disables Bluetooth when alarm is set. Have been using for almost a year with iPhone 6s and didn’t notice. Now with new iPhone 7 and no headphone jack the program is totally useless to me now. I don’t want or need any sound monitoring. Why not a preference to turn it off.
Love it - add watch support 5/5
Really enjoy this app, would like to see napping and apple watch support for additional input into the ecosystem.
Add a dream journal option 4/5
I keep a dream journal by my bed so whenever I wake up and I’m ready I can record my dreams. These are the sections I have in the book
2. Notes (anything can be put here. Thoughts about why this specific dream occurred or mood about the content of the dream)
3. Setting (time, date, place, day or night, temperature, list of people involved in the dream) in the dream if applicable.
4. The actually dream itself. Tends to be a lot longer than I expect. I like to include many details.
Was wonderful, now doesn’t work 1/5
The app will randomly shut off in the middle of the night, leaving you with no alarm. Support team says the only solution is to charge your phone before bed, then run the app on an unplugged phone. Sad to have to switch alarm apps, but have no other choice.
Phenomenal app but... 4/5
Edit: For some reason snooze keeps automatically going on every morning, despite the fact I am not even touching the phone.
... I wish the developers would steal from the default Apple Bedtime option and allow the user to have a reminder of when he or she ought to go to bed—and have an option for predefined weekly alarms.
TRENDS: What’s trends “Sleep affected by location” for? 5/5
By National Web Network
QUESTION: Trends “Sleep quality affected by location” —I think I get the premise of this data point +/- bar, but a detailed explanation (like you have for activity steps) would be helpful...
...for example, it shows were I sleep or hometown—in red—but also shows the town next to me where I rarely go in a much longer bar—in green. I can’t make sense of why there are just “two” distant locations.
If the point is to compare my town with other nearby municipalities, why am I only showing two and not more?
Not good if you are “on-call” 3/5
Text and call alerts do not sound when app is in use.
Makes me lol 2/5
Used this for a week and even though there was times I was up at 2am walking around the house it still said I was in a deep sleep. My phone sits about 14” from my face when I sleep so placement isn’t an issue. After it doing this 3 out of the 6 days I used it I just don’t see it being useful. Delete
love it 5/5
Security issue 1/5
Once you run this app it never locks your phone. Next day when you wake up, you use this app directly from the screen and after that you are right in. Never does it ask you to enter the pin, password or touch ID.
That's a serious security problem.
Asking us to compromise on either security or functionality is not the right approach to solving problems. My impression of this app has reduced even further.
Bill in Virginia 5/5
Easy to use
Easy to understand
Easily shared with my Dr.
If you use your sleep notes, especially in the beginning, you can really zero in on what has a positive or negative affect on a good nights sleep.
A physician once told me that the two things most people never get enough of is good sleep and good water.
SleepCycle has solved one of those things for me!
It’s great for tracking sleep and waking me up. I just wish there was a way to track the average time it takes for me to fall asleep.
Solid 4/5, 5/5 if could play music and had playback 5/5
Excellent app. Just wish it had audio playback (might already be a Premium feature). It's been helping me figure out where all of my sleep is going. Shame you have to keep the app open and you can't play music while it's on.
Awesome and a Work Around 5/5
I use this app everyday to wake me up, and it really does the job. The only problem is you can't listen to anything to fall asleep. Luckily, I found a work around and really wanted to share it. If you have a second device, you can simply turn on the book/podcast/white noise on that. You don't get any sleep readings for the first 15-30 (depending on how long use set the timer) but I really only use it for the alarm. I hope this helps someone and thank you for the great app!
Not very useful for second or third shift workers. 1/5
This app is based on the idea that you will be getting up on the day after you go to bed. If you work any shift where you get out of and return to work on the same day, this app may not be for you.
So make it better by analyzing sleep patterns and adjusting as needed.
It should not be that difficult to determine that if the alarm is set for the same day that a person is going to sleep, then tomorrow being a day off is irrelevant.
This appears reasonably accurate. I use it to look at the changes in my day-to-day life (various foods, exercise, stresses, etc.) and look for patterns of sleep (or lack thereof) to compare them with one another in an effort to make changes in diet/ meal times/meal frequency/exercise/etc. with the goal of getting longer periods of deeper, higher-quality rest.
It would be nice if the app compiled data related to your best sleep so that, over time, you could see the graphs that show trends related to the factors that consistently appear when you have your highest quality sleep.
works for a bit, but... 3/5
the first week that i used it, it worked like MAGIC!! it wakes you up anywhere thats in the 30 minute range of when you set the alarm i believe. it wakes you up when your body is ready to wake up, but i think it might work best if you only use it every few days. it worked for me until a week after and then i couldnt wake up with it. they dont have too many alarm options either, and you end up getting sick of them. there are more but you have to pay (a lot) for them. whenever i need to wake up earlier than usual i use this, though.
Amazing app 5/5
I use this app every night. It helps me wake up in the morning because it monitors my sleep and wakes me up between times that I set When I’m at my lightest sleep phase. It keeps me from feeling as groggy when I wake up. I love this app so much and rate it 6 out of five stars
Eats battery 3/5
It’s a wonderful application but honestly it ate a lot of batter st night. I’d give it 5* if it wasn’t that much.
Apple Watch support? 4/5
Love the app! The alarm is very soothing and the way that it fades in and out makes waking up much more pleasant. I really wish I had been using this app my whole life!
That being said, I would love to see heart rate monitoring via Apple Watch. There are other sleep trackers that do this but I wish sleep cycle offered it.
Another question I have for the developers is if I have a dog that sleeps in my room, does the listening algorithms automatically ignore the sounds and movements he makes, or is he messing with the results?
Snoring I want to hear 5/5
Honestly not being able to listen or send my recorded snoring for free is kind of wack. Other then that the App is great👍
By Michael Burrows
Major downside - mutes notifications 2/5
This app seems to work great. As a developer, I’m very curious about how the backend is implemented
there is a major flaw. It mutes notifications. I cannot not be alerted in case of an emergency. This is such a huge downside. People might be using this app thinking it’ll all be fine but be aware, it mutes notifications.
Internet radio option 5/5
Please investigate adding an option to wake up to Internet radio streams. Also different alerts for first and then snooze sounds (so one can have the melody for the first alarm, then radio for the snooze alarm)
Lacks ability to listen to music 4/5
The IOS version lacks ability to listen to music or white noise while monitoring sleeping. Otherwise, it’s a great app.
Used for a short while with Android phone which was able to play music and monitor both.
Great app!! 5/5
By A fluffy cloud
Sleep cycle really helps you wake up and feel more refreshed and not as tired. It improves your sleep quality and is a free app, you don’t need to buy premium to still get some good use out of it. 10/10 recommend downloading it!
Love the app 5/5
Would be great if you let it track your sleep using the apple watch. I'd be willing to pay extra for that
Hue lights customization 5/5
I love this app, I’ve used it almost everyday for the past couple of years.
It would be great if there were more options to customize the Phillips Hue light wake-up feature. E.g. light brightness, color, etc. Similar to the iOS home app or the Hue app. Or be able to link the alarm to a predefined scene via HomeKit/iOS home app, that would work too! Thank you!!!
Wonderful for simple wake up 4/5
I love how this wakes you up. I’m sure it’s even better when you pay. I use it free since I do t really have money.
The alarm doesn’t startle you awake. It eases into it. Which is wonderful since studies show that being startled awake by typical alarms is actually bad for you. The alarm options are great too.
Of course it isn’t 100% accurate but that’s because it can only do so much being a phone. But it gives you the basic idea of how you slept.
My only issue is that you have to sleep by yourself if you want this to really work. Sometimes my nephew sleeps in my bed when he is scared. He lives with me. So when he does come in my bed, it’s not really useful. So I’m not sure how well this would work with couples.
Also, I’m not sure how it would work for a temperpedic bed for the movement option since temperpedic beds are supposed to not move the mattress much.
Other than that, I love it.
Pretty weird but good 3/5
So ever since I started using this app I’ve gotten sick from sore throat, to vomiting.but how the app works is pretty good can’t lie.
Picks up my husband not me 2/5
This app boasts that it will monitor you and not your spouse, but the snoring recorded is all my husbands so I’m not sure how accurate the sleep graphs are either. He wakes up an hour or two before me and once he’s up, that’s the only time it’ll show me going into a deep sleep. I do like the alarm feature, I just wish the snooze was longer than a minute.
Notifications are silent 1/5
By Deandre Robinson
Instructions are either wrong or outdated, and they need to be more specific for each specific device to fix the notification issue. Shouldn't wake up with missed calls and text messages I had no idea I received because the app decided to mute everything.
Literally has changed the way I sleep 5/5
By Optic millionaire
I wake up at the perfect time almost every day. I noticed my quality of sleep was low when i started using it, but quickly noticed a pattern in my sleeping habits and was able to make changes. Now I'm sleeping better than ever!
Not Accurate Enough 3/5
I do not have a nightstand, which doesn’t help. Even so, I was tossing and turning most of last night so my sleep quality being 76% and being in deep sleep most of the time is not accurate. It also didn’t detect my using the restroom and awake time. In my opinion using only sound is not a good thing. I understand users not wanting to place the phone on the mattress, but for me having both is pretty necessary.
Great app for tracking sleep 5/5
I've been using this app for almost a year. I had started falling asleep while driving and while waiting for a sleep apnea test I downloaded this app. Even though I don't have sleep apnea I continue using this app because it tracks my sleep quality which gives me an idea whether I should take modifinil before driving. Another bonus: I can email my primary my sleep history which he appreciates.
The app used to include ‘go to sleep’ music and I loved it. All is a sudden it was gone. 😪
So glad I found this 5/5
By Emily 🙈💁🏽
Sleep cycle tracks it all. It wakes you up different than any other alarm clock. Highly recommend for anyone who sleeps! So all of us
