The Secret to Waking up on Time 5/5
I think I have found the perfect combination of alarm clocks. I always set Sleep Cycle to be my first alarm, and another app called SpinMe Alarm Clock as my backup. Sleep Cycle usually wakes me up in my optimal wake up time, but sometimes it just isn’t enough for me and I’ll either snooze through it or turn it off and go back to bed. If Sleep Cycle fails to wake me up, my backup alarm SpinMe will start blaring which can only be turned off if I get out of bed and spin around twice before it finally shuts off! Crazy but it works and I haven’t been late to work since I started doing this. And no you can't just spin the phone around in your hand!
Sleep Cycle really does help in waking you up during your light sleep. I can feel it working most mornings. And I have studied the science behind sleep so I can attest that the premise of this app isn’t merely a placebo, but something that has actually been proven. However the problem that this alarm clock doesn’t solve is that sometimes (especially on nights where you get very little sleep), it can be really easy to ignore your alarm clock and really hard to wake up. That’s where SpinMe Alarm comes in, an alarm clock that is impossible to ignore and forces you awake. I highly recommend using these 2 alarms together. Best few dollars I’ve ever spent!

I used to be someone who would sleep through the alarm and wake up dangerously close to when my bus was to arrive. As soon as I got this app I woke up 30-60 minutes earlier than before and I used to wake up dead tired but not anymore. I feel refreshed and ready to take on the day. Although I hate how the app makes you pay for the better sounds but overall I think this app is amazing.

Been a while since I woke up without a headache or feeling groggy. App helps a lot by not interrupting my sleep cycle. You will need to keep it plugged and make sure the microphone is pointed towards you while you sleep.
This app is really cool and it actually works. I have used this app for the past two years and I have so much data about my sleep. I put my phone on my nightstand every night and it monitors my phases of sleep as well as how long I slept for. It helped me to get into a better routine and I wake up more energized and ready to go!

I like the variable wake time and the graph of my sleep levels. It is hard to know if the graph is accurate because it is based off the mic which could pick up noise from my spouse or the dogs that sleep on our floor. The key is that it provides a gentle wake up at a time my body is ready.
I also like the easy snooze: pick up one and set it back down.

I love the app.. but why is the "premium" version $24 a year? Now I have to pay to see my averages??? Come onnnn!!! I remember when I first bought the app for $1, I used to tell everyone it was the best dollar I've ever spent. Now it is too expensive

Love the app, it's just missing the feature to integrate with the Apple Watch. I have started using other sleep apps because of this reason. I'll come running back once they utilize the watch.
In 1985 I had a neighbor who was doing a PhD on "sleep cycles". He explained the concept to me and I was fascinated. I did a little experimenting to try and figure out what MY sleep cycle was. Fast forward 20+ years and I stumble upon this App - I am a 58 year old cardiac surgeon so my nights can vary from 2 hours of sleep to 8 hours of sleep - not by choice ! This help is great when I get a full night sleep - But it is the "short" night that I find this app absolutely essential - if I know I'm am only going to get 3 or 4 hours of sleep it becomes CRITICALLY that I awake during a light phase of sleep. If I am forced to wake up from a deep sleep the following day becomes an endurance contest - if I wake up during I light sleep I will function at a MUCH higher level. Don't get me wrong - good sleep hygiene is very important - but life doesn't always comply - this app has become a necessity for me - I have strongly encouraged my 4 adult children to use it and they are now hooked. I recommend it to all my patients. This is a revolutionary App. I owe you many productive days Sleep Cycle

The types and variety of data collected and compared is astounding and could be very useful if I trusted it more. Tracks my wife's sleep as much as mine. 90% of this issue would be solved by an Apple Watch component. Would easily be the top available sleep app if it used Apple Watch for tracking.

This app is exactly what I needed to understand my insomnia and fix it. By tracking the various factors & behaviors that I thought *might* be affecting my sleep, I was able to find out what *actually was* affecting it - and change just those things. I sleep much, much better now and still use it nightly. Plus the wakeup routine is wonderful!

five stars for the idea: years from now our grandchildren searching throuh history would be shocked to find out that before inventing smartphones, people were using brutal fixed-time wake up alarms; the rest of the comment adresses the app itself, not the idea:
i use this app since past five years; i have sent tons of improvement suggestions but none made it, hence giving it only three stars: the app is not intelligently enhancing significantly over time.
it's like the developers/managers don't use it for themselves?! because if they would, they would soon notice stuff i have already sent to them as feedback...

I'm happy with this app. I upgraded and I like seeing my sleep patterns, knowing how restless I am some nights opposed to others. It always records when I snore and for how long. I've always been curious how I sound. Now I know. All in all satisfied with sleep cycle.

I love and use this app so much. It really does get you up on time, and feeling rested. I use it every day and I can't think of a time when I've had a problem! I love looking at the sleep data over time too.
My App Froze Over Night 2/5
I really enjoyed this app at first but the app froze one night and my alarm did not go off and I unfortunately missed a work event the next morning. I re-downloaded the app and the problem repeated itself the following morning. I had to rely on my backup alarm. I will not be using this app again.

Was skeptical about this at first, but every time I set an alarm with this app, it measures your breathing during sleep and wakes up during the " light REM" period, so it always wakes me up refreshed and I don't come out of the sleep coma phase! Amazing

Sometimes my sleep schedule fluctuates, so it would be fantastic to have a setting to wake me at the first opportunity once I have received 8 hours of sleep. Is this possible? I like to get 8 hours and sometimes it wakes me just before I've received 8 hours and I'd rather be work on the next opportunity.

I've had this app for three years, and I love it. I use it every night. There are a few things I would suggest for the developers tough. I've changed phones a few times, and I have to restart my data every time. If I could send my old data to my new phones, that would be great. Another thing; if we could choose a playlist of our own songs, rather than just one to wake us up, that would be great too. It could then pick one of my songs at random, rather than just one song every day, or a random song of yours. Thank you for the wonderful app, I do love it, and I have and will continue to recommend this app to others.
Alarm doesn't work anymore 1/5
Since the last update the app no longer actually acts as an alarm clock. I set the time to wake, and for the fourth day in a row have either slept past the alarm time or watched the time literally tick by without an actual alarm going off. I've been using this app for years and have found it very useful, but if it no longer acts as an alarm clock what is the point?

I used this app for the better part of 4 years and really enjoyed it.. however I had a couple situations when I was called during the middle of the night for emergencies but the phone never rang. In addition to missing these important phone calls, the sleep cycle stopped tracking my sleep as well. Can this be fixed?

Ok so i hate waking up early. So I decided to use this app. Honestly I feel a lot better when i wake up now, I don't know whether maybe it's psychological or something, buy it works. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Great app - it's really hard for me to wake up with alarm clocks that aren't very loud, but somehow this alarm app works anyways. That, plus I love the integration with Apple health.

I like the alarm on the app. It's a gentle awakening and I'm surprised others are bothered by the tune. The problem is it seems to be tracking my partner more than myself. There are times I get up and it says I'm in deep sleep at the time. Probably because he is snoring away, which is part of the problem. I went and slept on the couch for a few hours and it didn't seem to notice. I like the alarm but I'll see what else is out there.
