Get it! 5/5

Great app! This is like having a personal trainer in your pocket. For less than the price of one personal training session. The video instructions are super helpful for new or unfamiliar moves. The plans are well described and well designed. The progressions are safe and natural. These are work outs written by ladies who are gettin after it; in the gym and in life. Having the app makes me feel like I am part of a special, elite, girl-power club. I got much stronger with their help and have hit several PRs!!! Thank you so much!
Amazing app with well thought out and effective tools to whip you right back into shape and build strength and most importantly stay in shape.
I've never looked better! Great app!! 5/5
I love this app and use it exclusively for my workouts. My body has completely transformed and I'm way more toned and firm than I've ever been. And super strong. My husband has asked me if I could teach him what I've been doing because he wants to get the same great results. The price seems scary but all the plans are super detailed and allow you to keep track of your progress in the app. Their customer service is great and the creators of the programs are always eager to connect and answer any questions you have! I recommend this app to everyone I know.
Great app, great community! 5/5
Finally a workout app for women that's about building strength, not sex appeal. Spitfire offers structured workout plans at multiple levels of skill and training frequency. There are women demonstrating each exercise within the app, and those women are real athletes, not fitness models. You can record the weight used, and easily go back and review past workouts to see if you're increasing your weights.
I've completed 3 workout plans: the Fighter, the Heroine, and the Climber. Whereas the fighter is a more traditional weights session, the Heroine is a short body weight only circuit that I used to complement running. Most advanced was the Climber, which had pull up variations for days, and where I saw my most rewarding strength gains!!! All 3 programs were high quality.
If I had a suggestion for improvement, it's to list the approximate amount of time the workouts take in the program description. Some take longer than my available time: one hour. Although sometimes I could just shrink one or two sets, other times I just switched to a shorter duration program the next gym session.
Great personal training for a great cost. 5/5
I am so happy I found this app. I am turning 50 years old and find my body shape and strength needing a boost. At my gym, I asked about personal training. The cost PER SESSION ranged from $35-$60 depending on the amount of time spent with them.
If I did the equivalent time with a trainer at a cost of $50 per hour ( just a middle of the road cost). Compare that to the time using this app (1 hour 6x per week). The price difference is $50 x (6 hours x 12 weeks) = $3600. The price for PRO is $109.99. (109.99/72 sessions = $1.52 PER SESSION!!
The app has pictorial, video, and written instructions in how to do each exercise.
If you don't want to pay, there are free workouts with the same instruction format.
Download and give it a try. You will be happy!
Great App! 5/5
The app is incredibly useful and user friendly. I love the pictures as the nicely depict, the exercises and the workout. It’s a great app for anyone who is looking to get started with weightlifting and for those who have been weightlifting and want to switch up their routines! I definitely recommend the app.
These workouts are great! 5/5
My gym charges quite a lot for a hour of a personal trainer's time. This app contains useful plans that I can easily follow to increase strength and stamina.
You get nothing for free and it's hella expensive 1/5
The app itself is well designed. They have many plans, but you have to upgrade to paid Pro version to see any of them. There's only two free workout plans (a gym one and a bodyweight one) that have the most simple/basic things on there it's not even worth having the app for those bare bones basic plans. The gym one has like "squats day one, rest day two, squats again!". Nothing new, nothing helpful, just lame. thumbs down :(
In it to make money 1/5
The exact same workouts that used to be free are no longer accessible unless you purchase the pro version. Bad form, Spitfire.
Needed a new challenge - found it! 5/5
I started with the Warrior. It was a great way to introduce myself to weightlifting. I've always been "fit" - I'm a runner and do a bit of circuit training - but at age 41 as the motivation and metabolism have taken a dip, I found myself needing a new challenge. This has been rewarding and Spitfire is to thank! Great app. Without a doubt, my larger muscle groups are stronger than ever and now I have the bug to make EVERYTHING stronger. I've started The Daredevil with The Pull-Up on the side. I can really see endurance improvements in my running and I see more muscle toning happening everywhere.
This app has been frozen for about 2 months 👎🏼
App frozen 1/5
I haven't been able to even use it because it's stuck on a quote and won't open... Extremely disappointed.
This is a really good product 5/5
Good quality fitness for women with out any gimmicks, lies or shame. Very happy to have found this app after years of struggling with my disdain for how the 'health and fitness' industry pushes women to be frail, hungry, waifs. Feeling yourself get stronger and build endurance is bomb.
Strength for Women 5/5
In a world where women are discouraged from lifting, Spitfire aims to empower and motivate females to build real strength. The app is fresh and vibrant, easy to follow, and provides education on how to start a consistent lifting program. Examples are clear and you can easily track your progress. My favorite aspect is how motivating it is compared to other programs that just focus on how many abs you can create. Spitfire motivates women to be strong mentally and physically. Sure, there's a pro mode that's not free. But think about everything that's a worthwhle investment, and count how many of those are free. Probably almost none. And that's what Spitfire is: a good investment in strength.
Amazing app! 5/5
I recommend it to all my female friends who want to become strong.
When you download the app there appear to be a few free workouts you can do before committing to the "pro" plan, however if you try to do any of them it immediately asks you to pay for the pro plan. This seems to be a great app but I would like to try some of the supposedly free workouts before I commit to pay!
It was great... 3/5
I have used this app since it was developed, and have absolutely loved it! I saw great progress a lot of the time when using it, and they offer programs for anyone and anywhere! That was up until the made it so you can't use any of the workouts without a subscription. I understand that the developers have to make money, but between paying for this, a gym membership, and school, something has to give. Sorry Spitfire. I loved ya.
LOVE this app 5/5
Great workouts and demonstrations, very user-friendly and sleek interface - I love the satisfaction of being able to tick off each rep as I do it. I've tried lots of different workout apps and this is my favourite so far.
Great workouts but buggy 3/5
By Vikki McDowell
I used to row D1 and am trying to get back in shape. This app is phenomenal, clearly by athletes for people aspiring to be athletes. Great for all levels. I wish there were more plans, but it's a young app!
Updated to add: now that I've worked through more of the plans, I've noticed a fair number of bugs. Most don't affect the workout--for instance, the HIIT time counters stop dinging after 8 minutes, and you can't tick off individual exercises. But in the Fighter workout for the gym, there are several workouts that force the app to restart. You can't actually read the workout plan.
If these bugs get fixed I'd definitely rate this 5 stars.
Awesome app 5/5
I've been using it for a few weeks now and I love it. The developers also are quick with responses and very helpful.

I would love to join your team as an intern, I am currently attempting to learn coding and would love a mentor.

Well designed with great routines! 5/5
I'm a gym newbie and was looking for an app to guide me through weight training. I wanted a specific routine to follow and to be able to keep track of workouts. This app was PERFECT! I downloaded others but ended up standing around the gym on my phone instead of lifting. Best download ever!
Most beginner workouts require weights and/or going to the gym. Some workouts assume you are an athlete and are doing other workouts too. I know nothing about fitness and just want a full workout that I can do at home.
One suggestion 4/5
It would be great if your built in timer had a chime not at the beginning of the interval, but at the end. It's hard to know when time is up by just having a visual cue while I'm jumping around and doing my butt kicks.
Awesome app but caught in update loop 5/5
By Bingo baby!
This app is fantastic for keeping a consistent strength training schedule. I did a 12 week gym program that kept me going to the gym through the winter. It was exciting to watch the increase in weight and feel stronger. Most recently, when I open the app, it provides a button to update, which takes me to iTunes App Store & there's only an "Open" button which takes me to the app & the update message. No way to get around it. Help!
Great App! 4/5
By Spitfire Mom-lete
I truly love this fitness app. Due to an injury, I have been unable to run and decided that I'd try my hand at weight lifting. Although well versed in training for endurance runs, I knew nothing of how to begin training with weights. I decided to do a simple search for an app and stumbled upon Spitfire. The fact that the app treats me as an athlete and not someone seeking to look like a celebrity is really refreshing. I love being able to choose my routines and see my progress. Kudos to the developers of this software. It makes things so easy for me. In the future, I would love to see maybe the ability to create your own workouts using the exercises already provided. Also, if the timers could make a noise after the time is completed, I would like that as well. I can't say enough good things about this app and I love how strong I am getting.
Love it! 5/5
This is by far the best workout app I've come across! It's super comprehensive and easy to use, not to mention beautifully designed and well laid out. The only thing I would change is the timer, and specifically how it doesn't make a sound at the end. I find that if I check in the middle of a set, I'm more likely to get discouraged rather than just muscle through till the end. This, however, is not nearly enough to get me to stop using or loving this app!
Thumbs up 5/5
Great app for weightlifting and strength training.
Daily fitness & workout organization 5/5
By Yankee Bob
Focused on the "women who strength train" niche. But a nice tool, plus graphix & inspiration, for any aspiring serious athlete who trains mostly on her (or his) own.
Like having a personal trainer! 5/5
I love this app & recommend it to every woman I know interested in stating a new fitness plan! The workouts are great & very explanatory. And the creators seem to really care about their app (they have fixed the force close bug issue) & they are passionate about being in shape. I HIGHLY recommend this app!
Great but... 4/5
By ali wali doodle all the day
I love the app- just used it for the first time today. There are a few things that could be improved, IMHO.
1) the timer- makes a tone when it starts, but doesn't make a loud enough tone when the time runs out. Who wants to continuously look at the clock while resting in btwn sets?
2) I am just getting back into weight training, and I think one should be able to modify reps and weights in the log. Let's say you start an exercise but realize at the end of the first set the weight is too heavy- you should be able to keep track of the pounds you use in each set. And perhaps you cannot make all 12 reps... You should be able to change that info as well. Also- what if a weight is 7.5lbs (i used this for incline reverse flyes and by the 3rd set could only make 10, and didn't want to go down to 5lbs)... I was unable to enter half pound weights.
The app does look nice and hopefully will just improve with time.
Looking forward to the next workout!
An outstanding app for women looking to get serious 5/5
I happen to find this app by chance and I am so happy I did. I have been looking for a resource like this for months and I am ecstatic that I not only found it, but that the programs are free. The app is easy to use, gives good instruction and the design is beautiful. If you are looking to get serious about your health and fitness, I highly recommend downloading this app. Thank you to the developers for a clever, beautiful and insightful app that has the power to transform lives!!
Spitfire is amazing! 4/5
By Danie Can
I love the structure of the workouts and how it even includes photos and videos to depict the exercises! I love the logo as well; perfect fit!
This app has some room to grow but can only get better. Please allow the user to go back and edit workouts. Once you complete and save a workout, you cannot return to edit it. For example, I was not aware you could swipe each exercise to the right and add the weights. Additionally, I neglected to check off some the cool-down exercises and would like to be able to go back and update the entire workout.
Please add more workouts! I think diversity is just the thing to keep people interested.
Lastly, please add nutritional information/diet plans and information on supplements. I have a good general idea of what to eat but it would be nice to get that extra support. I am interested in taking supplements but am afraid of what I'm putting into my body. Please add information on taking supplements for women (e.g. brands, ingredients, how they work, when to take them, etc.)
Force close!! 2/5
I love this app but after this update it just force closes every time I try to open it. Please fix it!
Lovee it 4/5
Great app for beginner girls looking for a challenge. Gives me a lot of motivation and the exercises are challenging but rewarding
Great app! BUT... 3/5
This is a great app. I was able to see results when I was using it earlier this year, but after I updated it, it signed me out and I haven't been able to log back in ever since :( it just keeps saying that I can't log in because of an incorrect password. There's no 'forgot password' link. When I try to create a new account, or login through Twitter, it won't let me either. Please fix this!! I love this app and loved using it while I could! The 3 stars is because I can no longer use this app since it won't let me login/use the app, otherwise I would give it a 5!
Love this app!!! 👍👍💪 5/5
This app has really good workout plans for women. Best app EVER!!!
However I do have to say that Spitfire you should make an Instagram account to share stories and create support, think about it. 😉 Love this App, thank you.
Amazing weightlifting app! 5/5
By Angel Semyon
The strength workouts in this app are intense! The women featured in the training plans are inspiring and I can't wait to get started! 💪💪🔥
Insanely good app.
Love love love this app!!! 5/5
Superb app! It's seriously changed the way I interact with the gym. It feels so good to know what I'm doing and what is best for my workout goals.
There are of course a few things that could be changed, like I wish you could add notes that pop up the next time you do a particular workout and I wish you could select "0" or "bar" for weight on some exercises.
But either way I'm a Spitfire for life and I'm so excited to see what changes will be made in my body once I complete a couple training plans!
Intense and Spirited 5/5

Incredible app! Not sure which is more motivating, the workouts out the well designed application! Will definitely be recommending to friends!
Love the app, but... 4/5
The only thing I don't like about it is that the timer doesn't make a noise when it ends. If that gets fixed, it's a 5-star for sure.
For women by women 5/5
Spitfire is a fantastic weight training app that is beautifully designed and accessible as a tool for a wide range of women - beginners and more experienced users alike. As a CrossFitter, I love that 1) all the workouts are designed by women who walk the talk 2) the workouts are easy to select and 3) you can track your progress in the app. No need to bring notebooks or worry about remembering a certain exercise when confronted by all the guys hogging the weights at the gym. A must have app.
Love this app! 5/5
This app is amazing! Great training tool. It gives photos of proper form and videos if needed. Highly recommend!
Amazing app ❤️❤️❤️ 5/5
Best strength training app out there. Use this app everyday, I love it!!!!
Love it! 5/5
By Rachel Gross
I've had this app for a few months and love the training programs! It's great for vacation, when I don't have access to a gym
Love It! 4/5
Really love the app, and the challenge that comes with using it to work out!
Only two gripes: 1. I hate that even after starting a plan, you still have to scroll through all the introductory info every single time you go to log your workout. 2. The timer is pretty ineffective. Would love to see it correspond with the workout itself, or at least go off in 30-second increments. Takes away from the workout when you have to constantly look at the timer bc it remains silent or dings in awkward intervals.
Overall, though, I love the app and can't wait to see it grow, change, and improve!
I like it better than a personal trainer. 5/5
By Michael Elli
Been using the app for the past month now. Always look forward to going to the gym. Workouts are intense and have everything from warmup to cool down. This is the most consistent I've been with working out since high school.
Love it! You gotta try it. 5/5
If you want a workout plan, but are either too lazy to make one yourself (ahem), or don't know where to begin, and don't want to pay for a pricey one somewhere online, this app is PERFECT. I'm currently using a 12-week plan, and I am seeing serious definition already, in week 3. I can't wait to finish and see what else is in store! I can't recommend Spitfire enough.
I actually see results💪💪 5/5
By Love case tractors
This app is by far the best app I have ever used for fitness! It's also the only app that i have wanted to commit to. I also love how I see results! Another thing I love how you can also use it without going to the gym. The only thing I wish you would add is a way for it to remind you. Other than that I Love it!;)
