I'm switching back to Chrome Remote Desktop 4/5
By Jex Universe
I am switching back to Google Remote Desktop. I do not have the money to be paying nearly $20 a year for something I rarely use in order to save my grade.
Don't get me wrong, the app is still awesome. It does so much to help you access your computer. It's amazing. I can even play an FPS shooter through this app if I wanted, but it's like they are hiding the fact that you must pay them to use this app outside of their house, covering it with the "Get Anywhere Access Pack" thrown all the way to the bottom of their description.
The real reason why I needed an app like this was so I can send office and college files off of my computer if I ever forgot to put them on an online cloud service. I need to be able to access my house computer without actually being at my house. This app doesn't do that, unless you pay them yearly. I couldn't send a biology report to myself in time because the app gave me this shocking subscription surprise. I missed the grade.
As of my old review, I didn't know you had to be in the same Wi-Fi connection to be able to use Splashtop from afar. What's the point then? I could just walk over to my computer if I ever need to access it. I shouldn't need to be paying nearly 20 dollars yearly to keep an app that I use once or twice a month. As a college student, I need to save all the money I can.
Google Remote Desktop may not have any of the nice extra features this app has, but it's free and reaches all the requirements. That's an app that I can depend on to reach my personal files.
The app is nice, but not worth $17 a year for the amount of times I use it. If they want me to pay that, they should improve their interface and allow personalization options before I reconsider. The buttons are small, I should have a way to rearrange the extra buttons, and while this annoyance isn't important, I don't like the green old log in screen. This app should be updated to look and act more modern.
I've been using Google remote desktop for a while and I decided I should move on since Google doesn't have a lot of options and Microsoft doesn't even let you use theirs. I'm glad I made that choice.
Splashtop has made things so convenient and efficient for people who want to use it in different ways. Want to use your laptop like a touchpad? No prob! Want to play a game? Splashtop has a arrow key feature for remote gaming.
Basically, its impressive and I can't wait to continue using my computer without being in my basement or carrying it to the bathroom. I can't come up with any negatives except that I dont like the color green. Good job!
I love Splashtop! 5/5
I love using Splashtop all the time when I’m away from my computer. I works just fine and I have no problems with it. Very satisfied! 😊
This app once I logged into it and downloaded the software on my laptop gave it a virus!!! Had to take it to a repair shop. Don’t do this!!
Good stuff. 5/5
Desktop access anywhere rules.
I LOVE this app 5/5
I do SEO for local businesses and often need files from my PC, or to run a report on my PC. This is the easiest, smoothest screen sharing app I’ve ever used. I use it on my iPhone 6s and top of the line kindle Fire tablet. It’s great on both and makes my life easier, more productive and profitable. I love it and I recommend it highly!
Amazing Product 5/5
Does exactly what its suppose to.
I use it to stream my Home PC at work 5/5
Gotta set up those afk games haha.
about adapting iPhone X 1/5

Really good 4/5

Easy to set up and use. Frame rate is a bit low (usually 15-30fps for me) but still usable for my needs.
Something I wish that could be implemented is that instead of the 16$ for the year pass where you can connect anywhere, there could be a monthly pass for maybe $1.50. This would be more affordable for me.
Have for a few years. This app is awesome
Great work 5/5
Mouse continues to not work. 3/5
By TC Brown
When everything is working this app is 5 stars. What happens most of the time for me is that the mouse functions do not work. It does me no good to log into my computer and then not be able to click on anything because the mouse doesn’t work. It use to happen maybe every other time I log on but for the past month it’s been every time.
Excellent app 5/5
By Rex Bogin
Reliable app that worked for me for many years. I just hope they don’t become greedy and charge for future upgrades.
Used it to troll my bother lol
Crashes every single time in the X 1/5
Tried reinstalling... keeps crashing on iPhone X
Multiple downloads and didn’t work 1/5
Had to download the Streamer plus the App on multiple devices, but still never connected. So, ended up deleting from everything and will try something else.
where is monthly subscribe？ 2/5
cant find monthly subscribe
It just works! And how! 5/5
I am impressed by Splashtop all around. Their software just works and it works better than competitors for free? Crazy. I originally started to use Splashtop because it was the only remote service I could find that was Mac to Win compatible with a high response rate AND high quality. (I just got done playing Doom 2016 off my iPhone 8 by streaming it from my PC! Relatively low frame rate, but looked good, and felt O so right.) I have yet to find a better service, free or not. That being said, I was skeptical about their app. Its just so common for apps to be a let down in these kind of uses. But NOT TODAY. Works great and has perfect flexibility and tools to meet all your specific and potentially obsessive nerdy needs.
Where's the mouse only/touchpad options 3/5
There use to be an app from you all that was a fantastic touchpad/remote mouse app. What happened? Can you bring those features here, please?
Amazing simplistic app to access your files from anywhere. Easy interface. Highly recommend this app.
iPhone X compatibility 3/5
Still is windowed on an iPhone 10 even after the compatibility update.
Perfect Remote Desktop app 5/5
By "good" (news) app!
This is the best I’ve ever used. Location away from the original computer determines lag, but it’s still under 1 second from click on app to click on original. Wonderful app.
Had to rebuy and buy again. 3/5
By Jace of Fuse!
I’ve been using Splashtop for several years. I think it’s pretty sad that the previous version stopped working and I had to buy a new version to get the same features it already had. I could understand if they had added extra functionality, but that’s not even the case here.
iPhone X support needed 3/5
Update: The latest update fixed the stretching glitches, but didn’t update the resolution for the X yet. At least it’s useable now!
Connecting to my Mac is fine.
Windows PC is stretched and clicks are offset.
It doesn’t support the X resolution either.
Black screen 3/5
Installed the app on mi iPhone and worked great. However I installed the software on my PC and now all I can see is a black screen. This happened the minute I tried using the app on this particular PC and all I can see now is the Bios boot screen and then nothing. Please help.
Very Quick to Respond to Support Issue 4/5
The correct Mac desktop streamer now downloads correctly from splashtop.com Thank you.
Crashes on 11.1.1 2/5
Crashes immediately on iOS 11.1.1 on iPhone 7
Worked great until I got an iPhone 10 3/5
Couple issues now with iPhone 10
-Landscape mode isn’t working, screen gets all scrambled up.
-Screen isn’t centered.
-Actual cursor clicks to the right of what Splashtop shows.
Great App 4/5
I have been using Splashtop for I think around 5 or 6 years to remote into my computers at home from my phone while I am out and about. I just use it to move files and do little things here and there these days but I used to do heavier computing with it. It has been a stable application and I have been very happy with it. Navigating the screen on an iPhone can be a little cumbersome at times, maybe because with the small screen and big fingers, its easy to close or move things you didn't intend to. But you can pinch the screen to resize what you are looking at. I recommend this app if you are looking for an easy and safe way to remotely connect to your computers.
Perfect except for one flaw 4/5
I’ve been a user of this for many years and it’s very reliable. Lately I’ve found that my cursor can’t move to the right all the way. Like there’s an invisible barrier that prevents me a couple inches before the right edge. That makes it difficult to close programs, Access task bar programs, etc. you can work around it but hopefully a fix will solve this.
$16.99 annual for what others do free 1/5
Not paying to connect to my pc from another location outside of my own network. Why would I need to remote into a computer in my own network? Useless freebie to butter-up inexperienced novice techs. The whole point of Remote Desktop is to use it remotely (..go figure). A yearly sub of $16.99 to do that is a joke. One-star, uninstalled.
I’m trying... 😩 2/5
I really like this app... as long as we’re on the same network 🤷🏾♂️. I’ve paid the $16 for anywhere access and all I get is a black screen. If I turn the monitor on it works, but anytime I turn the monitor off, I see a black screen on my phone app. I really want to give this 5 starts, but I’m not able to get what I’ve paid for. I’ve done what other forums have suggested, but to no avail. If any of the developers can help that would be so appreciated.
Works really well with 4X games 5/5
Love this app, I can play 4X games with it. Sid Meier's civ games and xcom, shadowrunner, even Pillars of Eternity. Leave your powerful desktop at home and go mobile! All this needs now is the ability to use a mouse via Bluetooth, or a controller and your set!
IT WORKS GREAT!! 5/5
I was trying to find a way to use my laptop as a windows tablet and I found this! My internet is terrible and it didn’t lag or anything! If you have a laptop and an iPad and you wish to have a windows 10 tablet then I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS! And plus, IT’S FREE!!
Great app/easy to use 5/5
Have used Splashtop remote connection since it first came out and has always been great! Thank you!
Works Great 4/5
Use multiple devices while traveling around the world to connect to a single laptop in the USA for access to local cable channels.
Best App Ever! 5/5
I use this app everyday for work. I have been using the app for almost two years now and I would say that I have thoroughly battle tested it! I have a PC at home that maintains a VPN connection to work that is RDP'd into my desktop at work. I use Splashtop from both my iPhone and Macbook to my home PC to access my work PC. This way state is maintained if I lose connectivity from my phone or Mac. This is an awesome setup.
No doubt One Of The Best app With awesome Features (Y)
I Love This App, Just One Thing. 5/5
Can you make the member ships lower for a limited time, I will probably buy it if you lower it for a limited time.
Works really well both when I'm on the same network and remotely 5/5
Wish there were better options around resolution scaling but the performance is great
Works well like always 5/5
By Cinnamon Panda
This is one of the best apps to use for remote services, when if I forgot something at home on my desktop computer, I can always use this program to help pull up something real quick and then allow me to save it to my network drive.
So far for me, it has not crashed, but I will update this review if something does happen.
The yearly subscription to use the service from a remote location not on your Wi-Fi is priced at about $18 a year, but will be nice to get a better discount for yearly subscription or maybe if I buy a two to three years subscription.
Overall I can recommend this app at this time.
Used to be great, now constantly crashes 2/5
This app has been my go-to for years as far as remote software. Unfortunately, very recently it started to lag and then immediately crash. Then you have to wait a minute or two to load it up or it thinks a session is open.
Fantastic App!! 3/5
By Marst Machi
Superior to alternatives in every way. Don't appreciate being asked for a review when I've already left one, though.
