App provides no value 1/5
Overall this app is literally nothing that couldn’t be provided via a website, but they want to sink their fingers into you phone to spam notifications and pull your location information. Their website literally won’t let you download a parking pass... why? Why would an app be faster than a website for an Apple wallet item? If airlines and parking panda can figure it out, spot hero should too. Beyond frustrated that I HAVE to install this to download parking passes, but I make sure to delete it again immediately after.

Booked a spot on Valentine's Day next to a restaurant where I had reservations that had the space occupied by a Jeep that was in the instruction photo--the owner was apparently parked in the spot he was leasing. So I then resorted to booking another spot with a garage lift gate 4 blocks away which sucked but it was the only place under $40 in the area. When I went to leave later that night the app said my reservation was canceled even though I already had scanned in and my car was in the garage--clearly not a user error. Called spothero and they were closed for the night so I had no way to use the qr code to open the gate without paying a lost ticket fee of $100. So I then took a $30 Uber ride home leaving my car in the garage until morning to resolve. When I called spothero in the morning the "supervisor Charlie" told me to pay for a new reservation and lie to the parking garage or rig something to try to sneak my car out. This is after I paid for 2 extra parking fees plus $60 in Uber rides after I had to get a return trip. I explained everything to the garage in the morning and that garage was nice enough to let me out for only $20 more. Do not use these guys when there is things like ParkWhiz and ParkEx in Chicago. All and all this whole situation cost me like $100 and I had to walk an extra 4 blocks and leave my girlfriend waiting a half hour by herself on Valentine's Day. Maybe worst customer experience I've ever had. My car was basically impounded by these idiots and their doofus phone clerks were probably getting off by not helping me.
Soso application 2/5
Based on my experiences with spot hero and it’s customer service exchanges and refunds are difficult and near impossible. Don’t park with them unless you’re 100% sure you have the right car registered for parking and it’s in the correct space. Unfortunately this is the main parking application in the DC area so I don’t have too much of a choice but to use it Unless the meter allows credit cards
Great way to find great inexpensive parking in Chicago 5/5
I love this app. Chicago is an expensive city to park. You can spend anywhere from $20 - $40 daily to park. SpotHero allows you to find great parking spots for a few $$.
Favorites Disappear 2/5
The newest version of this app seems to have gotten rid of Favorites. I’m sure I will come to like this version but for now as a very frequent user and promoter if this app, I am disappointed.
We got a ticket! 1/5
We downloaded the app, paid for a spot, triple checked and confirmed it was the correct spot and we got a $39 ticket. Feels like a scam and we’d never trust again!!

Easy to use. 5/5

This app gives useful parking locations, and lets you easily compare prices among providers in the same area. Easy and helpful.
It’s good enough but not great 3/5
I like that I can book daily parking cheaper than at the gate BUT it’s a cumbersome website and app for something fairly simple. Examples:
- I can’t book or search monthly parking on the app or the mobile website.
- I can’t easily search monthly parking that might be coming available. It should tell me future monthly parking options and say “available on x date”.
- I can’t book daily parking for every Saturday (for example) without doing it manually. There should be a repeat option.
- When you search monthly parking it displays a phone number and says they love to help. The guy on the phone just did the same search as me and no additional help whatsoever.
- I sent in a message via the support center and no one ever reached out to me.
- I tried entering a $10 off coupon but it’s only for first time users and I’d grumpily already booked parking the night before. Bummer.
I do like the prices and it’s worked fine on every booking. I like that you can cancel last minute, which I’ve used a couple times when it’s snowing and I decide to work from home. I just wish they had more support and functionality.
Didn’t reserve a spot 1/5
Spot Hero says they hold a spot for you. Well in my first time using it during the Eagles super bowl parade when parking was going to be hard to come by, Spot Hero DID NOT hold a spot for me. I was very upset to pull into the garage and not find a single open parking space. Just deleted the app.
Unreliable platform 1/5
Just because you book a parking space with Spot Hero and pay for it doesn’t mean it will be there when you arrive. That’s okay, they say, just call them and get a refund.
More trouble than it is worth.
Spothero has THE BEST customer service EVER! 5/5
I use spot hero on average 2 days a week and
Could take be happier. Not only is the app easy to use but it’s quick, they often send out coupons for repeat users, prices and garages are great and their customer service team gets an A++ in my book. You can call or email with any concern you have and they work quickly to resolve the issue.
Excellent Service! 5/5
I love using Spot Hero! The application is very easy to use, the prices are reasonable and your customer service is fast, effective, friendly and easily accessible. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Don’t arrive early 5/5
Don’t arrive early or you’ll get charged by the garage, even if you’re early by a few minutes. I’m still giving SpotHero 5 stars because of stellar customer service. They seem to care more about their customers than many other app companies (more considerate than Airbnb and Uber’s awful awful customer service) — keep up the great customer service Spothero!
Works fine 4/5
It works fine. Just need to plan ahead. Here is a coupon code if you want to try it out FR7MSCW84
Terrible Experience 1/5
Used it for the first time only to arrive at the garage and find it was closed after my credit card was charged. Won’t use this app again.
Thought we were getting a parking spot for 7, but it turned out to be a total tipoff( the $7 was only for 1/2 hr and we had to pay another $32 to get our car out of the lot! Be careful when using this app.
Absolutely awful, avoid at all costs 1/5
By Joseph Slack
Lot owners refuse to honor reservations made with SpotHero. I’ve been ticketed and towed on all 4 uses of this App, costing me over $1500 in fees, with no recourse, not even an acknowledgement or apology. Apple should remove this app as it’s entirely a scam.
Kudos to SpotHero! 5/5
By Raging Scotsman
I ahve nothing but nice things to say, especially about their customer service reps: always a pleasure speaking with them, especially since thenonly time I need to is when “operator error” books meself a spot I don’t really want (got to get me specs on before using the app!).
Convenient, affordable, ability to book the entire work-week on one order, plenty of availability near where I’m going.. I could go on and on, but let me just say this: I refuse to consider using any other means for obtaining affordable, convenient parking. Spothero is my parking hero!
Must have App 5/5
It’s super hard to park in Chicago downtown. SpotHero just makes parking so easy and affordable
Don’t use it 1/5
By tired of overcharges
Ripoff- charges extra 1/5
I used the app and they charged me more than twice the rate of the lot's regular rate!
Making life easier for sure. And customer service (should you need them) .... some of the best of any service I’ve ever used!!
Inconvenient and stressful! 1/5
By K Mahoney
I frequently use Spot Hero to find deals and have had an overall positive experience. Today I used the app to reserve a spot from 9:30-5:00 - I commute over an hour to the city so it’s always TBD on my exact ETA. I arrived at the garage for my reservation and entered at 9:25. Given Chicago traffic I didn’t want to risk doing a lap around the block and being late. I ended up extending my reservation for an extra $2 till 5:30. When I went to exit, the garage requested I pay $5 for entering early. I called Spot hero and they were unable to revise my reservation which is inconvenient. I also learned the increments of time for reservations are 30 mins, which doesn’t allow for a ton of wiggle room. Spot hero asked me to submit my receipt for the additional payment for review and possible reimbursement. The garage receipt printer didn’t work, so I was left with no receipt. What was suppose to be a stress free situation ended up ruining my evening. Spot Hero should figure out a way to accommodate customers and not punish us for arriving 5 minutes early!!! Unreal. Considering using park whiz moving forward.
Game changer 5/5
By Dating in CA
I should be on their Marketing team for the amount of people I rave about this to. No more circling for parking, overpaying for parking or dealing with shared Lyft line. With good deals on parking I’m back to the comfort of my own car and am saving money. Thank you!
First two times were excellent. 5/5

The two times I have used SpotHero this week have successful and almost easy. Their help/ contact phone service worked beautifully. I’m using them again today.
Saved money Parking 5/5
Easy app to use and saves me $10 or more each time I go downtown Chicago. 2nd year using and very happy.
Love this app 5/5
One of the best apps. The customer service is always very friendly, helpful and fast picking up and correcting my mistakes!
Poor poor service 1/5
Paid for a spot on New Orleans, first of all it was expensive, which was acceptable, but I chose the spot specifically to come and go as I needed. After getting there I was notified by the spot that if I move my vehicle it would be towed. I called to spot hero, and after 30 minutes of spinning their wheels, nothing was done. Didn’t offer me a new spot, refund or anything. Rest assured I never use again and I would highly recommend you use a different service. They might want to look up the definition of customer service!!!
Don’t bother in NYC 1/5
Unscrupulous parking lots/attendants don’t want to honor the paid reservation when you get there. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve had the reservation. Today was the third time in as many weeks that I’ve had this problem (today I used SpotHero, but the two other times it was Parkwhiz). Parkwhiz & SpotHero support were not able to help resolve the situation because they are just an intermediary.
Love it! 5/5
So easy to use and even easier to use for both personal and business

Both times that I reserved, This app oversold ... I checked after I was refused entry due to being sold out and the same parking lot showed availability. Deceiving
Park Wiz have better rates sorry. 1/5
By JP Ecuador
I was disappointed that I didn’t even get a 10 dollar discount with Spot Hero and I have been booking since 11/20/17 with spot hero. I booked the first time today with Park Wiz and paid only 8 dollars at the 111 W Wacker drive garage, and by word of mouth. I was promotion spot hero and stopped when 3 people recommend park Wiz instead . Sorry . JVR
Cold weather makes the train commute unbearable 5/5
Decided I am too delicate a soul for a train commute on a day where 0 degrees was the high. Dreading the potential rush hour and parking fees associated with driving downtown Chicago, not willing to lose fingers to frostbite, I turned to SpotHero and am so pleased.
The scanning process once I got to the garage was a little confusing - kept trying to scan my phone and it was activating ApplePay. Took my ticket as normal and was instructed, insert the ticket upon departure and then scan the code to redeem. Somehow I even saved $2! Now that I understand how easy it is, was a little bummed not to have my car right outside of work today.
I’ll certainly be more open to driving in over the train on longer days or when having my car after work would be handy. See myself checking SpotHero a lot in the future.
Don’t bother/told 2 different things 1/5
Everything looked great. Reserved my spot days in advance. Got to my spot, however, and this company overbooked the lot. Not only for me — there was a company that had rented spots for its buses. They were overbooked also. So, I found another spot (right next door at half the price!), called Spot Hero and told them what happened. They were not surprised at all that the lot was overbooked. The lady I spoke to assured me they would refund my money, and cover the new spot for the inconvenience. Well, this is not the case. When I went to set up the refund, I was told something different. It’s possible that this is a rare occurrence, but I’m never using them again.
I purchased a parking spot in downtown Chicago for New Year’s Eve. Upon arriving at the garage I was told that they were full, I couldn’t park there, and I should take up with Spot Hero.
I emailed them twice saying that I expected a full refund, never hearing from them. Deleting the app, and never using them again!! Beware!!!!
This app is useless... 1/5
This only works for the most expensive parking in the city, and actually costs more than if you just drive to the spot. It’s not worth it, and not at all helpful.
1st experience bad & good 3/5
Reserved a spot. Got to the location, lot was full and the attendant had no clue about the app or reservations. Contacted customer support about a refund via email. Took a couple of days but much to there credit they did get back to me and working on the refund. Not sure if I am confident to reserve again, especially in downtown Philly but as far as finding locations when downtown, I will use as a reference. Also a plus that customer support did get back to me which I was not expecting which made me move my rating up from a lower rating.
Paid in advance instructions said just use license plate number didn’t need receipt yet when I got to lot very unprofessional not related to this app told me unless I produced a paper receipt even though I had receipt on phone he would boot my car and it would be 90$ and if I want to appeal an additional 30$ My money was refunded but that person would not had been there and the reason he was to get paid to take a boot off a car that also used this site and had proof on their phone that would not be accepted by the boot company
No PayPal, can’t turn off notifications 2/5
By Flaked model
The pros: seems to find more options than ParkWhiz
Cons: can’t turn off the notification on my lock screen, can’t use PayPal, have to trust them with my card info. Using a promo code/referral code was way more difficult than it needs to be, in fact, I don’t even think it worked... overall, not a good experience, I’ll stick with ParkWhiz for most parking.
You’ll Can Get Towed with an Active Reservation 1/5
Yesterday, my wife and I parked our car using Spot Hero and came back to find that it was towed. After looking into all the details, I confirmed that our car was towed while we had an active Spot Hero reservation.
Clearly, this is unacceptable. This app is promising to offer parking when you pay for it through the app. If their customer support team is able to make this right then I will update this review. Until then, I warn you – do not use this app if you want to park reliably and avoid getting towed.
No refunds 1/5
First time using the app I booked a spot in a lot having an address which, in both Waze and google maps, doesn’t correspond to the street number marked on the building. I parked elsewhere and requested a refund later, which was rejected unless I sent a receipt for the other lot I used, why would I have saved that? This is convenience?
Annoying popupa 3/5
By Олег Л.
Jesus, stop with these annoying pop-ups offering one of the choices while I try to navigate through map. Literally the only reason I chose ParkWhiz over this app.
Wrong Rates 2/5
SpotHero said $11. Paid $27. Ridiculous!
Absolutely horrendous customer service 1/5
While on a call to correct a parking error I asked to speak to a supervisor. The representative decided that I, in fact, did not need to speak to a supervisor and told me instead there was nothin that could be done, so he was going to hang up. I then asked to speak to a supervisor to discuss his condescending attitude in which case he told me "Merry Christmas and goodbye" and actually hung up on me!!! What kind of a company allows their employees to speak to customers this way?? I’m appalled.
A life saver 5/5
Big fan! Have turned dozens of friends onto it
Your Spot is NOT Guaranteed 2/5
I set up a reservation in San Francisco this morning. When I got to the garage the attendant told me that it was full and just because I had a confirmed reservation with spot hero and the reservation was paid for, it is not guaranteed on the garage keepers end. I would have to get my money back from spot hero and find another place to park. Luckily he was in a good mood and let me park there anyway but just an FYI that this may not be the best option in a busy place like San Francisco!!
It was great!!! Arrived at my destination in good time. Thanks for the detailed information.
So easy! And great savings! 5/5
Used this to go to the Verizon C ahem Capitol One Arena several times. Not only saved more than 2/3rds below parking at the arena, but found a fast in, fast out place just two blocks away. Spot Hero provides pictures of and directions to the garage. Could hardly be simpler.
Waste of time and MONEY!!! 1/5
Used this app to book a spot at 1500Arch Street in Philadelphia. Turns out the address listed as 1500 doesn’t really exist on any gps, so couldn’t find the garage. Had to park at another garage, lost the money I wasted on this ridiculous app, had to pay the other garage parking fee, and all the garages in the area had ample space and availability. Deleting this app now, total rip off in my opinion.
