They will steal your identity and sell it. Giant security risk. Use stripe or PayPal or anything other then square. Their customer service is worse then Comcast. The worst app I've ever downloaded.

I signed on for square for my small business, everything was going great, until I tried sending an invoice one morning after updating to IOS 11, and found I couldn’t use my account.
Thankfully I had an old device that hadn’t been updated, if not for that I would have lost the sale.
Under normal circumstances I would rate the square 5 Stars, but I can no longer even use it, rendering it completely useless.
We need an ios11 update, like now, the update wasn’t a surprise so I cannot believe the developers weren’t prepared for this.

I was notified by life lock that one of these has been issued under my social security number. I’ve never even heard of the company but they refuse to work with life lock so I’ve been attempting to get to the bottom of it personally. They don’t accept calls from non account holders and because they have issued one to someone I can’t register. Thus far, they have not responded to any emails. I would say BEWARE. I only downloaded the app to attempt to get someone to communicate....

Our service was cut off and we never given a valid explanation. Absolutely terrible experience.
Been using square for months and love the ap. Went to conduct a sale today with my business and the invoice button is gone with no explanation as to why? I'm going to have to use another pay source to help my customer. It makes a business person look extremely unprofessional to be fumbling around trying to figure an ap out! Unacceptable! Please fix this immediately!

This app is awesome!! I own a boutique and it's so easy, simple, and fast to use. I have no problems with this whatsoever!! The only feedback I have is to get more updates, but other than that...amazing!!! 👍🏻

Just one small thing. I would love to add my clients name to transaction. When I look at receipts it only shows charge and service. When I used to use my phone for transaction I was able to put their name in notes. That is not an option for my ipad. So if there is a way please can you make happen.
Really don't care about new logo just doesn't matter old or new. I would like to see the update efforts go into something more meaningful. ie.. THE TIP BAR. Move it to the top and allow client to add amount of tip not percentage based. Please please please listen to your reviews and change it.

I don't usually write good or bad reviews upon businesses because that's just not my thing but this point of sale system flagged me because of my first big purchase I've had since I've been in business and closed my account and I am highly upset and disappointed that I have to look for another point of sale system 😏

It just takes that crucial moment when your swiping a $2k payment and have your app down and no support from customer service. Happens often, and here's how you get to talk with someone of you can't log into your account, ready for this, you have to log into your account t to speak about why you can't log in. Crazy? I know, so you sign up for a new account and Simone will contact you shortly to see if they can sign you up. When it comes to finance, sales and support, always keep in mind these reviews and skip using square and your life will be happier. Try joist

We are trying to get our Square setup for a restaurant we are opening. The app on my phone was working. Now it crashes immediately! Please fix it ASAP! Not a very good 1st impression.

After many years of having square, they closed my account without warning or time to find another point of sale. I lost Business because, I couldn't accept credit cards, after canceling in the middle of the day with no real reason. I keep asking them why they canceled my account and they refuse to provide me an answer. They make it impossible to speak with anyone there to explain to me why my account was terminated. Even when I did have the account the app would always crash and the processing time took so long that customers grew impatient. Do not recommend, if you do go with them, find a back up just in case

Not that good, many features from web site not in mobile or they don't work well and are a pain. Clients can't pay invoices, they time out apparently and has gotten progressively worse instead of better. They had potential at one time, now not that impressive. Done using completely, customer service poor as well.

The App crashes immediately when using The Apple Public Beta. As more & more people are enrolling in the Beta, I feel Square should keep up with the latest iOS version available to their customers. The Square app is the only app I have that crashes with the Beta & it's very frustrating.

Got the Square to use and downloaded the app. Worked great...once. Now I'm ready to use it again and can't get the app to finish or stop "loading". An hour later the swirl just keeps swirling. Disgusted!

HORRIBLE APP 1/5
The Fee structure is on par with other point of sale apps but that is where the benefits end. They almost appear to make a point of withholding funds and the "instant deposit" feature for an additional 1% is not instant. Still took 2 days and they kept the 1%. Come to find out they do not tell you until you have already agreed to the fee that the non instant deposit is limited to $500. First and last time using this app.
I love the app but is there a way to reflect someone putting a deposit on a future order 🤔if not can we make it happen

It has lot of good stuff. Very useful app. I would like to see my daily balance and details before close time but I can't. Maybe after new update. It could have button also close current day for some reason if someone wants to close that day. Some more improvement could make it better. Thanks 👍

I started a small business and used Square for about a month. I suddenly got an email that they are holding payments as I needed to verify my account. I submitted all the required paperworks such as my Tax ID, etc. 2 days later I just got a very vague email saying that they are deactivating my account. No specific explanation as to why and that the decision was final. This deactivation happened last month and now they just did an external withdrawal charging me for marketing! Ridiculous! Especially since i'm still waiting for my money to clear! DO NOT USE SQUARE. No one to talk to at customer service. I guess I needed a code to be able to talk to someone but then I couldn't get one because I'm deactivated. Worse app ever! Just an inconvenience overall!!!!

I was verified and easily set up my account to accept payments on my website. This is my second acct with Square. My money transfers within 12-24 hours with no problem.

I need to be able to read cards to be able to sell items at fairs and events. I tried multiple times to approve my account. Despite checking my information several times to make sure it was accurate, the company continued to deny my access to read cards. Finally, I reached out to customer service for help, only to have them get back to me with a "sorry, there is nothing we can do." A great waste of my money buying the product, and a large waste of my time trying to deal with the company. I do NOT recommend.

I decided to start freelancing again. I've seen how a lot of vendors taking credit card payments is so easy now.
Unfortunately they took the payment charges me a high fee, and hold your money indefinitely.
I can't get paid for my work now. This app took my first big payment and kept it.
They have no phone support, and they do not respond to help emails.
I submitted 3 help emails and received no response.
Now I have to go back to my client and tell them I was stupid to trust this app and I probably got their credit card hacked.
Use this app with extreme caution!!!!

I was told by email from Square....I CAN NOT use Square to receive payments for installing security cameras and networking a relative home under my business Account, I have to refund the customers money back. WHAT! Yes the card with chip was present. Yes a receipt was giving. Yes EIN info was uploaded. Yes Sellers permit was uploaded. First payment went thru & 2nd payment had to be refunded.

We use Square as a POS for two coffee shops. Easy to setup and use. Love that Funds are deposited around midnight every night (except weekends). I Like the ease of looking at the dashboard app to see where we are today vs last week with one click. I'm over 30 so I prefer to call with questions: Their phone number is not easy to find but once you reach them, they are very knowledgeable and friendly.
The business analytics and data collection has been fantastic and very user friendly. 2 years in and we are still big fans of square.

It takes FOREVER for the funds to become available to deposit into my bank. I've been waiting a week tomorrow, not counting the weekend, and still nothing. I'm not going to wait a week every time I use this thing so I'm signing up for propay today. 👎🏽✌🏽
