No love for the iPhone X? 3/5
For a tech focused news media, you sure fall behind in updating your app for the latest devices.
Terrible update 1/5
Loading problems, slow, article headlines don’t show up when emailing (in subject line)
Ironically disappointing 1/5
You’d think an app about tech news would be created by someone who knew how to make technology- not an app that only loads the first half of each article and refuses to play sound with any video.
You’re a tech news company and one of the very few to have not updated your app screen size for the iPhone X. As a tech news company I would expect you to one of the first ones to upgrade your app. Fortunately for me your competition has.
Update cumbersome. 2/5
Far too difficult to scroll/read older stories. I mean, really? How could one of their bonehead millennials get this functionality wrong. Aren’t mil’s the ones responsible for everything in the world in portrait-only formats? Well look children, at least make it work properly.
Long time reader bc the articles are interesting, but the app always has some problem or another that prevents you from reading content. At the moment, for most articles, I can only read a few paragraphs and then the rest of article won't display. This is not a connection issue and I'm using the most up to date version of the app.
“Click here to view this content” 1/5
In many articles that try to import images or tweets from a 3rd party, you get hit with a large area that says “Click here to view this content”. So you click it and it takes you to the exact same article, but on TechCrunch’s site with the images now visible. Lolwut! Some articles have lime 3-4 of these things. Whoever’s idea this was should be fired.
Hate the new app 1/5
By Ethan Anderson
It limits how many stories you can read. It’s also much more difficult to scan headlines for stories of interest. Some stories don’t load any content when you click on them.
-Ethan Anderson, former TechCrunch50 Winner
Poor upgrade 2/5
By Billie g.
All apps need to upgrade them selves. The trick is keeping what works and jettisoning what doesn’t work and offering important improvements. The new upgrade is confusing and contains loading problems. I usually usually enjoy upgrades but the recent TechCrunch is just awful.
Saved Articles Gone in new version 1/5
By Candy crush old timer
Well i love the graphics of the new post iOS11 version. But someone should ‘ve warned that all the saved articles will simply disappear!!!!
What did you do? 1/5
You took the 2.x app and stripped away the usable presentation... now you have stark one-line titles and no body text. Love the amazing whitespace throughout the page. And the cute article images are smaller and at the far right.
Oh and you took away offline mode?
Good news, crashing tho 4/5
Crashes every time today. A great source of news otherwise!
New version freezes occasionally when tapping a story from the main feed
Latest update crashing 1/5
On iPhone 6 running iOS 10.3.2. Can't open any article
Premium content, old school app 4/5
Any idea when we’ll get a redesign?
Why is there a speech bubble with a "0" on every article thumbnail? Whatever you thought that was going to be, it's time to stop. It's awkward. It's just endless zero. Remove it please.
Too much politics 1/5
By Evan Keal
Whenever TechCrunch publishes any political related content they expose the fact that their real target audience are mostly white liberal males living out of their parents basement.
We come here for tech insights...not for a failed leftist political agenda.
Good spread of content 4/5
This is one of my fav apps to help me stay current.
Useful but kind of embarrassing 3/5
By Pac12 all the way!
It's kind of sad that a tech based company produces such an archaic app. You guys could do better
EXCELLENT! No other words needed. 5/5
By 71 Still Rockin'
We need a concentration of today's and tomorrow's world, TC is it.
Too political 2/5
Keep politics out of your stories.
Videos won't play 2/5
Good story content but videos just sit in the loading zone.
UI..needs a lot improvement 3/5
As a developer and user I have to say I got problem with design, contrast colors more not so friendly to read.
Could use some updates 4/5
By Rich Hennessy
Content is excellent.
Great content, but ads and video issues 2/5
I find tech crunch a wonderful way to keep up on technology news. The content is pretty top-notch. This app, unfortunately, does not do that content justice. The advertisements can be intrusive at times. I'm a big fan of the daily crunch report video (since it is a convenient way to catch up on the news over my lunch break), but I've been unable to access any videos on TechCrunch for over a year. I can navigate to the specific video, but then I just get a black screen that perpetually says loading video. Data point: videos work fine from web browser such as Google Chrome.
Simply great 5/5
I love it!
Good app, videos don't work! 3/5
Good app, videos don't work!
Video won't load 2/5
I was really looking forward to viewing a video about Elli.Q robot but the video would not load. I can see it OK on the website but I really like apps especially when they work well. Do you think you could fix this problem please?
Nice informative app 5/5
By Jithu Reddy
Clutter free app. Very user friendly.
Video and Crunch Report Broken 1/5
By SF Boyo
The Crunch Report tab is always empty. No links. And the files in the video tab don't launch. You just get the spinning circle forever. These have been broken for literally months. Don't you guys know anyone in the tech industry who could show you how to build a functioning app?
Tech blog with pretty bad app 2/5
I have been reading this blog for many years now. And two main functionality are yet to come:
(1) offline reading - it only uploads the first paragraph when you are on data. This is a big deal especially in NYC where most of the people use subway
(2) able to watch a video - you get the spinning wheel of death when trying to watch a video
Hate the constant barrage of ads 1/5
Hate the ads
Great to read it as an App 5/5
By Grocery Dad
TechCrunch app is clean design and easy to read. And of course great content. The goto blog for all things in the startup tech community.
Very nice 4/5
Informative articles and the app functions flawlessly.
Love TechCrunch, but the app could use some improvements 2/5
I use the TechCrunch app multiple times per day. It works, but it's far from perfect. The biggest problem is that certain article types (slideshows, etc.) can't be viewed in the app, the article just displays as blank. I also experience crashes at least once a week. On a separate note, the stories seem to be getting more political in nature by the day. It sometimes can be frustrating having to look through multiple highly political editorial pieces before getting to an actual news story.
App keeps crashing 2/5
I was reading an article about Goigke Data and app would close the story after 15-20 seconds, I had to keep reloading the app to read more.... very frustrating specially from a tech oriented company... fix it!
Good content, poor app 3/5
The app in unstable, and some content just does not display. It is a poor reflection of the great Tech Crunch content.
Always up to date 5/5
Great app, great website! Always latest tech news and information.
Love it 5/5
Always up-to-date, and great articles.
Good app, good content, must read for those in tech 5/5
By John Mack
TechCrunch has good, relevant, and timely content and the mobile app is top notch. If you're into tech you have to have the TechCrunch app
Half the available screen space is taken by ads. 1/5
Half the available screen space is taken by ads.
Annoying Popup Ads 2/5
Please provide a way to remove it!
Tech news app 4/5
Does what it's supposed to do. nothing surprised me. but thanks for developing the app anyway.
Loves this app 5/5
One of the best news sources in the tech world... Easy to use with a responsive design...
Great news source 5/5
I would recommend to anyone in business
The old KISS acronym rings true with this app. All I and many others wanted was an app to review and procure tech related articles. Why do I want to read politically charged rants or not so cleverly disguised soapboxes sprinkled with tech tie-ins?
Too politically motivated 1/5
I used to like the technology reporting but is now too political to make it palatable.
Stick to tech news!! Another one bites the dust 1/5
Just like Engadget, I had to delete my favorite 2 tech news apps... Why is a tech site putting up so many political stories that have absolutely NOTHING to do with tech. If I want political news, I would just look at FB.
Great content; easy interface 5/5
Love this app and read it just about daily.
