Best news app 5/5

Hot fire fire
Concise summary of newsworthy events 5/5
If you only have time to read one magazine to find out what's going on in the US and the world each week, having both conservative and liberal views outlined, then this is the magazine for you.
Well rounded! 5/5
By Us Andersons
Each week is covered in a comprehensive and even handed way. After reading the magazine on Sunday, I am able to engage with others from an informed position on everything from news, music, entertainment to real estate, Monday through Friday. I do hope that one day they will add a sports "round up" for us to use at the water cooler.
Love the week 5/5
We have been subscribers for 7 years. Love how stories are curated and two-sides are presented.
Does not remember last page. 1/5
Please, please, please fix the issue that the App remembers where I left off. Each time I restart I have to browse to find where I stopped reading.
It is 6 months after I posted my review. Nobody listening?
Very biased politically 2/5
App works great, but the political articles are very biased. If you're looking for non-biased views politically this definitely is not the place... some fun non-political information in every issue though.
New Format Stinks 1/5
By Daily Reader#20
New format stinks. Give me the former magazine format otherwise I will go back to snail mail. New format Buffy, slow, hard to read consecutively. I HATE the new format. why do companies continually try to fix what wasn't broken in the first place?
Includes ALL news. All sources, all sides. Excellent coverage. 5/5
One of my 4 major daily must-reads 5/5
The Week is by far one of my four daily must-reads as it keeps me abreast of current news, events, opinions and special topics of interest to me.
Great compilation of news from both sides. Great interest stories
Top news magazine app 5/5
Fantastic content but glitchy 4/5
The Week has been my favorite newsmagazine for years. The content is top-notch--concise and informative.
The iPad app takes great advantage of the platform. When so many other magazines take the easy way out and just replicate their print pages in an app, it's great to see a publisher take the time to re-layout stories to make best use of the iPad's features. The font size is adjustable, which is a boon for old eyes.
The current version of the app has a full range of share buttons, including Evernote, but saving a story to Evernote is unintuitive. If you use the share button, it will save only the headline and nothing else. To save the actual content of the article, you have to Select All and then choose “Share” from the pop-up menu. Even then, you get only the text and not the photos.
The app crashes a lot on iPad 2, which may be more the fault of the hardware than the app. Apart from useful Evernote integration, the feature I need most is some kind of bookmarking. If you leave off partway through an issue, the app does not keep your place and there’s no way to mark it. When you re-launch the app the next day, it sends you to the All Issues page. So you’d better remember where you left off, because the app won’t do it for you.

The best news magazine ever!
Wonderful & Compact! 5/5
By Philip S. Bellingham
Great magazine, I have enjoyed the succinct weekly summary so much that I sprung for a 2 year subscription! I figure that at least ONCE during these two years I will win "The Week Contest" on the last page and add another free year to these two...:-)
Best there is!!!! 5/5
By Avid classical fan
I am a news junkie and I like to compare the left-wing & right-wing slants to a political story. The WEEK does this to political events and issues unbelievably well. In plain news, it gets it all right, from humor to futuristic ideas to just nice to know stuff.
It is worth every dime. When I'm done with issues, I take them to my doctor's office or my regular barber shop and drop hem off, as even the cover art is worth a second look!

Enjoy the attempt at balance. Don't care for homes. Restaurants always in big cities. Too much devoted to books. Read this mag to get balanced news fast because too busy to read other media. Not enough time to read books.
One of the best publications out there. 5/5
Absolutely outstanding coverage of the issues. I love that they're able to cover all of the sides of a story fairly.
Love the updates 5/5
By IT Studio
Love the updates
Thoughtful and Provocative 5/5
Thoughtful and provocative aggregation of weekly news.
Like the mag as well as paper edition 5/5
I've read both the e-version and the paper magazine. I find that I lean towards the e-mag because of convenience and the ability to expand pix and maps. The content is unbiased and first rate. I only read a few mags each month, and this is one that provides info on a broad range of topics.
Great Magazine 5/5
To the point
Opinions clearly identified
Can quickly read the items of interest to me
Can check the references from the articles if I want more detail or improve my understanding of the subject.
Godlilocks of News 5/5
Great succinct news with a fresh new twist. I don't have 3-4hrs to read Wash Post but I want more than just the headlines from Google News - The Week is the Goldilocks of news.
Excellent ...other than political coverage 3/5
The non-political news coverage is good, but the political coverage (selection and presentation) is left-leaning and preachy in places. Unnecessarily, I might add. Good product otherwise.
Great information 5/5
I like the reviews and opinions. The magazine is much easier to read than the app.
Good but could be even better... 3/5
The freezing nature of past versions have been fixed (thankfully) but the most annoying thing at the moment is the lack of ability to bookmark where you are in an issue when you leave the app while reading an issue. It is annoying to have to start from scratch each time you read and have to remember where you are. The app used to have this feature so it must of been removed an update or two ago. Please bring this back!!! Thanks.
Boy, do I sound smart now! 5/5
After reading The Week, I can offer a little something to every conversation, and ask good questions. TaDa!
Well done 5/5
Better than most magazine apps
The Week 4/5
By I pixel
I have enjoyed reading the week for years. I have not had trouble with the app. Another reviewer mentioned that those having trouble with the app may have gotten the subscription on I- Tunes. I like to be able to get such a broad spectrum of news from one source. I like the fact that I can use the app. when my husband is reading the print copy. We do not have to wait for each other to finish!
Great mag! 5/5
Succinctly covers important, current issues from various points of view, worldwide.
Also includes a bit of humor and other entertaining topics.
My favorite weekly mag by far!
Very good. Lots of information
Great magazine that truly hits all topics. 5/5
I've subscribed to The Week for some time. It provides various views--- conservative, moderate and liberal. Additionally, the editor's section each week provides insight and reflection on our society. I like that there are many topics and with limited time that helps me catch up on the many areas of importance in today's world.
An excellent summary newsletter. 5/5
The app is excellent in presenting an excellent summary reporting of the week's news sources. The range of reporting is balanced, from Breitbart to the New York Times. The reporting of news editorials and "good" and "bad" news makes it a very useful entry point into a broad range of breaking, boiling, or just interesting stories. I really enjoy it!
Simple layout in a feature-creep era 5/5
By Weaponized Urine
Great content with no frills; WYSIWYG.
THE news magazine 5/5
Via app or snail mail, The Week is the most efficient way to stay informed. News from the real world outside the bubble.
Info at my fingertips 5/5
I find this app very useful for times when I'm waiting for my wife while she is shopping : )
Great magazine, terrible, unstable, app.
please fix the app 1/5
By very unhappy subscriber
Love the magazine; hate the app. No longer recalls last page. It is a pain to read the magazine now. This problem started with the last app upgrade approximately 6 weeks ago. I continue to delete and re-add the app every week, but this issue has still not been fixed.
Love the content and format of the magazine, and the app delivers with snappy journalism and a sleek UI.
Not working with iPad mini 1/5
I am a long-time subscriber with multiple devices. Love the magazine but it is no longer loading on my two iPad minis. Still loading on my newer full-size iPad. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!
Best weekly for global and national news. 5/5
The Week allows me to catch up on all the news and to get some information about dissenting/different views about global and national events. The weekly doesn't overwhelm while providing necessary facts/information.
The crossword puzzles are an added bonus.
Great news magazine 4/5
By The hex bug
I think this is a great magazine. Well organized and even handed. Allows me to cover the weekly waterfront quickly and with good depth. Takes the place of several weekly news journals.
The Week 5/5
Great app - variety of opinions-also like that there are no ads- hope that continues
No longer recalls last page 5/5
By SA reader, once.
Quite annoying that app no longer recalls last page.
Surprisingly great magazine app 4/5
Having tried other magazine apps, this one is very impressive. The layout of the articles is very pleasing and the lack of advertisements is a MASSIVE plus.
However, It is a bit too easy to scroll left and right between pages. For example, sometimes when I am trying to scroll down to read an article, the page will scroll left or right instead, moving to a different article. It would be great if there were more "stickiness" while scrolling down on the current article to prevent the article from changing. I'm hoping that this makes sense and is something that could potentially be addressed to make the usability even better.
Place not remembered 1/5
Love The Week and generally the app is fine. The most recent update does not remember your place and boots you back to table contents every time you open. Very aggravating.
Best News App. Available 5/5
By Ken daswall
I have subscribed in the past to Newsweek and Time and was very disappointed with lack of current news and only essays written on current news feeds.
The Week is non- objective and focuses on the real headlines
Twice the view in half the time 5/5
This magazine does with many aspire to but few achieve: offers a broad spectrum of ideas in a concise, intelligent, insightful method. It informs well maintaining editorial integrity to present both sides of the spectrum. It for you are looking for more ammunition, to simply drink more Kool-Aid, pick another stand.
Latest version is a step backwards 5/5
New version does not remember last read position. Previous version did. Why the change? The lost functionality makes for a lot of wasted time. I hope it is fixed soon.
Half step forward three steps back 2/5
No clue what was wrong with the previous way of downloading content but the latest version no longer remembers your reading location. That's not acceptable!! Please fix! ASAP!
