Rarely works 1/5
I've used this app in 2 different iPhones and it's terrible. It doesn't get my location or just doesn't work at all. I use it with wifi and locations on and nothing helps. I'm surprised it has good reviews.
Tracking always fails! 2/5
Now the app is great for getting an idea of when your bus is coming but when your bus is 10 minutes away and it arrives in 2 minutes instead you’ll feel pretty irritated as I do EVERYDAY! The tracker just can’t give me an accurate time, it’s disheartening to stand outside ready to go just to have the tracker say it came already when you clearly saw no bus or the bus came and left way before the “tracker” and its estimated time. Without this problem it would be a 5 star app until then we’ll all have to play the guessing game with this app.
I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone! 1/5
I use it in NYC mainly for subway times and routes. The past couple months it’s been having trouble finding my location but usually after a minute or two it would locate me. The final straw came when it gave me directions based on what I assume is an old subway map. Only 3 trains stop at the Sutter/Rutland stop in Brooklyn yet for some reason this app thinks 2,3,4&5 trains stop at this station. I have checked out her transit apps and they don’t make this mistake and gave me accurate directions. Bad directions are unacceptable for an app whose one job is to provide directions. I will no longer be using this app.
Used to be 3/5
By That girl "Lala"
This app used to be the greatest things since the cell phone but now I can’t agree . There have been times I’ve been in Brooklyn and it’s telling me about train the Bronx and when I press the little triangle that is supposed to adjust your location it still tells me I’m no closer then Times Square again while I’m in Brooklyn. Even when you shut the app down it still has the same problem. The train and bus times aren’t always accurate and now that it’s cold the last thing you want is to be standing waiting for a bus late at night in the cold and it’s never coming
Great in theory but crashes 2/5
I’ve used this app living in two cities with very different transit styles- St. Louis MO and NYC. In STL it did exactly what I needed, showing the couples buses and metros I needed, and in NYC, it has such promise! But the app rarely loads when I need it to show time the available trains near me, and every time I go to search for a specific line the app crashes entirely!! Really disappointed in the app for now and hoping it gets some extreme improvements soon.
When I make a plan 2/5
When I make a plan, I would like to see it. It seems this app let’s you make a plan then you can set an alarm for it, but if you want to see the route you just planned, too bad. Make the plan again. If there is a way to do this, then it needs to be more obvious.
Also, the app tells me to get on one bus, ride it in the transfer station for one minute and get on another bus. What? Someone not familiar with the area could get in trouble if the did not understand that is bogus information.
[will is update when I have another example of this. Happens in Denton County at Hebron Station where bus routes 21 and 22 meet. It tells you to sometimes get on bus 22 for one minute, while it sits there, then get off that bus and get on 21. It should tell you to get on 21. If you do not understand that error you could ride off on 22 and miss 21.
My current frustration with the app is that I frequently cannot see details of trip I want to take. For example, this morning, I want to take trip and arrive by 8:30. It tells me one option is to leave at 6:45. I know I am not going to walk and take bus to train, but drive to the station. So, I tap on route to see details of exactly when train leaves. Instead of showing me route I have selected, it shows me different route that leaves at 6:14. Grr. Paper route schedule looking better and better.]
Great app when it works 1/5
This app has a gorgeous UI and is quite useful. However...
Live tracking does not seem to work consistently for Utah Transit Authority busses in Utah.
Please fix this. There is an api available to work with at rideuta.com
The 831 route is one that never seems to work. Do you have an email we could use to communicate rather than through a review?
Good app 4/5
One item for my Christmas wish list!
In Dallas TX the DART system does not have a Medical / Market Ctr stations for the Trinity Railway Express. Only Dart light rail has a stop at this location. Can you please put this fix in so we can then connect line properly in the app
Better than Google Maps if you take a Bus 5/5
Very helpful. I love it
This app never works. 1/5
Never ever ever does this app works; and when it does it's not the accurate time on trains.
It never loads to show where the train is it how many minutes it will arrive.
I love this app!!! 5/5
I have been using transit for over a year now and it's by far the best app I have used for Seattle transit! For the most part the app has gotten better with each update (the widget feature was a GODSEND). However, for the past week or so (I guess since the most recent update), the bus times have only been showing the scheduled time (no display of real-time data) - which make a world of difference. Anyway, that's my only complaint - like I said I love this app and recommend it to anyone who takes the public bus, but the lack of real-time data has made it incredibly hard to rely on the displayed schedule :/
Update: Problem was resolved - thanks for the help!
Fix current location 3/5
By ATOMSK PRODUCTION
Majority of the time Current Location is inaccurate
Total crap 2/5
Is not as accurate as many people said.
Just use your local transit app 1/5
This app is really flawed. First of all, if you favorite a route it will show up at the top no matter what. Even if you're miles away, it'll show that route at the top. I only favorited one since so I can just imagine how it would be if you favorited a few more.
Also, it only shows one eastbound and one westbound route for a line at a time. LA's metro is also flawed in that one line will have multiple routes, so if I'm looking for a specific route and it's not the next bus I'm in the dark as to when my bus is actually coming. The times are also pretty much as accurate as the LA Metro's app, give or take 1-2 minutes.
Ok when it works 3/5
1. Frequently says updates are not available on trip planner. Really makes the app completely unreliable.
2. I walk faster than the app predicts, and if it thinks I won’t catch the bus, it won’t show the info for that bus.
Tracking NEVER works! 1/5
Tracking still shows busses 3 miles away on the map but says 2 minutes ... every time
Tracking NEVER works and without it this is just a bus schedule app. This app is supposed provide MORE THAN JUST schedule readings . You know for people like me who live in Pittsburgh which has the most horrible bus service IN THE COUNTRY constantly making us late !
Without tracking this app is useless - uninstall
Was not sure how to reply ..
I've had issues "and not just once in a while " on the 88,91,p1 and 86 .. for instance it "says" its 3 minutes away .. but when you look it is on the other side of the route .. like right now it "says " it's tracking and it has been "saying " the 88 should be here so I went to the stop .. 20 minutes later it STILL says 3 minutes and it STILL cannot produce a location ... so what is it reporting ? Obviously it's not it just says that..
now because of this app I'm standing in the rain with no real info on this bus .. same thing happend with the same route this morning around 6 am
This app never tells the right times !!! 1/5
By A$VP Sean
This transit app needs to be fixed in terms of being accurate with train and bus times. I have had someone else with me with the same app check the times with me and both of them said two different times for both trains we were checking for. In times where you need to figure out when your train is coming and or bus this app proves to be unreliable and that’s not good for an app that can help us get around
My Hero 5/5
Whoever writes the patch notes deserves a raise. Also great transit app I guess.
Better commuting experience 5/5
Great app for commuters, clearly shows arrival times for commute options around you (useful when you have multiple options and try to decide what’s best to take). Easy to view timetables for buses.
99% transit time is not accurate 1/5
99% bus time is not accurate.
Update Broke “Go” Feature 3/5
When using the “Go” feature it used to include how much time you need to walk from where you are to the bus stop. It would also tell you when you need to leave to start walking to the bus stop.
Since the last update this feature no longer works. Now, even though I am a 20 minute walk away, it just says “Wait for the bus” as if I’m already there.
Please fix - I really miss this feature!
Overall a great app, could be better for cyclists. 3/5
The app allows for walking+transit directions and bike directions independently, but does not allow for bike+transit directions, i.e. ‘bike 11 minutes to 96th Street Station; take the 4 Train downtown to Astor Place’
Do not download 2/5
I've been using the transit app for about a year and a half. It has caused me to be late over 100+ times and is completely inaccurate. The bus times are sometimes completely wrong and the bus trackers are never correct. The app is also over complicated and confusing, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS APP!
Was Good 2/5
By Kit young
Not sure what happened but after the last couple of updates it is no longer geo- locating as well as it used to. When I used to open the app it would find where I was and throw up all the transit options near me. Now it opens to where I used to be and I need to manually move the pointer to where I am in order to get the info I need. I am on wifi he majority of the time (NYC) And when I am not I allow this app to use data.
Not good anymore 1/5
By Borunkcb @ gmai.com
This app works good but there’s a bug it shows a lots of bus lines or train stations that’s not relevant or not near by , now this app most of time shows wrong real time. I leave in New York, now mostly it doesn’t connecting to the system, means that app can’t recognise my location!
5star ONLY cause its freeware 5/5
Excellent for a free app BUT why not cache the local area maps at like city/area level(or better yet use the google offline maps, ask the customer to shell a few bucks that google charges you?). Local caching will speed up app load time by 5x especially at bad network areas.
At least give caching as an option in settings, since some will choose it even if it means a greater installation footprint.
Lost accuracy 3/5
This app used to be more accurate in saying when the bus was coming. I don't know what happened.
Now, if only there was a way to 1) tell the app what MY "commute hours" are so that I may receive service advisories more reliably and 2) set notifications for recurring trips (e.g. the 8:01 train, Mon-Fri.
Even better, it'd be cool if the existing extension - or another new one - could access my calendar and show me travel options to my next destination based upon where I am.
I even think the latter scenario would make an "Auto-GO!" option useful: enable GO! when the travel time to a calendar event - or stop with an existing alert/reminder - begins ;)
GPS functionality has worsened 2/5
Even with 4 bars, LTE service, and wifi on I now frequently get "Weak GPS signal" messages while riding NYC subway. This was not an issue until ~2 months ago. Putting phone into airplane mode to force resynchronization with cellular service has no impact. Regaining cellular service while pulling into a station does not matter. What I don't understand is why the app does not use the wifi signals in the stations as a fallback mechanism. Most stations have wifi service.
Beyond being frustrating this performance ends up accelerating battery depletion while the app spins trying to gain a GPS signal.
What can I say 🥀 5/5
This app is amazing you guys should give it 5 stars 👏🏻
Rough Change 3/5
By Previous Update, Please
It was good a while back. Don’t remember when I updated but...
I’ve missed my bus stop a few times now on account on of no more audible reminders that my stop is coming when my phone is locked. Still good for navigation but I have missed my stop a half-dozen times if I am not attentive and this time I’m at the end of the line out in nowhere.
Thankfully I have some spare change to call an expensive Lyft out here.
By Dante Marella
This app is not based on real time location of busses but on schedules which are unrealistic. I have waited fir many busses minutes away which dont show up waste of time
Another example of this app following schedule not real time. I was waiting for MBTA bus 21 at Ashmont Station for 612 Pm Saturday was there at 600 PM. App changed to say it was 38 minutes until next bus and it was 617 PM at 629 bus pulls up that was parked at the end of Station this is not realtime.
Great app but, my god, these update notes... 4/5
Please stop with the impressively self-fanatic and obnoxious update descriptions. It's cliche, insincere, overwhelmingly unhumorous and tacky.
Battery killer 3/5
This app is absolutely helpful! Yet, it can be more helpful if you can make it consume less energy so I would dare to turn on the “go” function. It now is killing 30% of my battery after 30 minutes when running in background, which is my much more than google map. Improvement on this would be much appreciated!
app was good what happen to notifications sound 1/5
By Mr. F. Sims
used to get notifications alert sound now I receive notifications without alert sounds what’s going on - iphone 7 plus IOS 11.1
Seriously the best app! 5/5
By taylor fdisohtmir
Does not get better than this, ditch the transit section of Google Maps and get Transit!! Trust me 😎
was great... 3/5
agree with the other reviewer who said busses no longer show up on the map - incredibly inconvenient. was the only reason i downloaded this app in the first place.
now, all you can see is the minutes until one shows up, which is rarely accurate. real life example: over the course of two weeks while commuting to work, 6/10 times busses 1-4 minutes away just never showed up and transitioned into the next bus, which was usually 8-10 minutes away. super frustrating :(
Great release description 5/5
Wow... this description is terrific... best release description I've read yet... love it...
I never do this but... 5/5
I very seldom give reviews but this app is as good as it gets. Seamless, informative, and let’s be real if you got candy crush or some weird app on your phone then you can afford to have this bad boy. No brainer. Also, the overly detailed update notes are totally the reason I reviewed. Well played bravo.
Horrible morning ever loads 1/5
This is a horrible app. It never shows where the bus is and nothing ever loads it only loads right when I download the app for the first time then after that it doesn't and I have to keep re-downloading the app
Flawed and Inaccurate Schedule Times 1/5
UPDATE 11/3: This app may work in some municipalities; however it is USELESS for Long Island Nassau County (NICE) Nassau Intercounty Express busses. It is wholly inaccurate ALL OF THE TIME. It boggles the mind why there is no GPS or accurate information. If this app is unable to be reliable in Nassau County, then it should cease its “coverage” of the Long Island Nassau County Bus System, NICE or Nassau Intercounty Express Busses until it can.
This app is good for public transportation directions only. It does not work well for letting you know when the next bus is on its way. It is inaccurate. I have often missed busses or waited long times for busses because of this app’s inaccurate scheduling. I don’t like things that don’t work the way they’re supposed to.
Unreliable with the Muni L line 1/5
By Efficiency Lover
Needs work 4/5
App was improved but the last few updates have cause my location to be registered as being in midtown (around times sq) when I’m actually all the way downtown. Not even closing the app and restarting it will help. It takes several tries to get my location right. Please fix.
Im tired of this app wasting my time. The routes it gives me do not match up to the live locations of the trains (which are accurate). This app has probably wasted hours of my time over the last year. This is my first app store review so you get the idea of how much this irks me.
Very very useful, must have to travel 5/5
By Congo Natty Dread
Happened to be in Miami and used the app to get around. I found that it helps in all phases of travel. Walking, taking the right train, and when to get off, for Uber. Found it be accurate. The fares are right. Good to be able to compare public transit and Uber
Used to be sooo accurate now it’s no where near accurate. Got worse. Very annoyed.
Not enough bus options. 3/5
I’m trying to get from point a to point b, the app is only including 2 options. I know that there are other buses I could take, including one that is practically door to door, but this route is not showing up. I’d like to see something closer to google’s trip planner where you can scroll to see a large number of options over time, rather than 2 or 3 selected options.
By Handsome John Pruitt
The app is pretty great, but when information doesn't fit, it just puts an ellipsis with no way of expanding to see the cut off information. Otherwise awesome. But please fix that. Thanks!
Where did the buses go?? 4/5
I could see all the bus icons on the map in Manhattan and now I can’t after the update. So inconvenient. Other than that, this app is a total life saver and I recommend it to tourists and locals alike.
Useful App for non-car folks 5/5
I don’t drive and thus use transit of various types to get around my city or wherever I’m visiting. Transit gets accurate bus/train/etc schedules and as a result, my trips are less rage-inducing than otherwise. Also, their update notes are the finest I’ve ever read.
