Great transit app, beautiful trip details on the map, excellent crowdsourced arrival times.
Best MTA app in NYC 5/5
For years, the only MTA app I trusted to get me around the city was Google maps. It had everything I needed to calculate my travel time and figure out my best commute. After testing several options, your commute becomes routine, but one variable remains the most essential piece to an accurate travel predicton, the time of departure. This is where the Transit app has earned my loyalty. Everyday creates a plethora of reasons for why you are running late, but with Transit, the MTA always feels like its ready when you are. You always know exactly when your next train will arrive, and with the new GO feature, we can all contribute to providing the most accurate public transit information possible. When you turn on this built in crowd sourcing technology, your GPS information will anonymously broadcast the exact location of your public transportation to others who are waiting down the line. Brillant! Thank you Transit!
Not that great for Boston 2/5
My biggest issue with this app is that you can't select the stop you want to get times for - it choose automatically, and for me, it's farther away.
If you live more than a 10 min walk away from the nearest stop, the "go" feature is useless because the app is not good at guessing how long it will take for the bus to get from where it is to where you are (10 min frequently turns into 20, even on a route marked with "good" service.
I liked the idea of being able to track my bus in real time, but oftentimes it just falls off the map.
So I'm back to using google maps. I can't see where the bus is, but it's estimates are far more reliable.
Beautiful app... but give me a complication for Apple Watch! 😍 5/5
Can't say enough great things about Transit that hasn't already been said. Amazing app. And great on Apple Watch too. But please make a complication so I can have the eta of my favorite train on my watch face!
It's not Accurate most of the times 1/5
By Abdullah Elsayed
It's useless app and always not accurate !
Makes it easy to use the bus in a new city 5/5
By Sad Vault Dweller
I like to use public transit when I travel. The Go feature takes a lot of the stress out of taking a bus in an unfamiliar city. Since it notifies you when you need to get off the bus, you don't have to be constantly vigilant.
Real time stop scedhule doesn't work since the new update. Please fix
Wonderful public transit app 5/5
By Bus Rider MPLS
Love this app! Makes commuting by bus that much more convenient
By to tell the story
Pretty accurate, if all is going well.
If there are sudden changes, it is not as accurate. Has issues with realtime when traffic arises. ;)
Used to actually make sense 3/5
I live in NJ. I commute weekly to NYC on a line that usually requires a transfer to a different line along the way. This app used to be able to tell me what train to take to get to New York including the transfer times. Now it can't give me train times to New York, only to the transfer. Then I have to plot a separate trip from the transfer to NYC. The NJTransit app has full schedules that take the transfer into account, why can't this app? Additionally when I try to plan a trip using the app, it doesn't give me any information at all. The area where the route/schedule should appear is blank, no matter what start or end destination I choose. I can only get info at all by clicking on the various transit lines and scouring through them myself. I've used this app for years and I'm thinking it might be time to delete it. 3 stars since it used to be good.
but for the zoom... 4/5

STOP STOP STOP auto-changing the zoom level. Grrr.
Getting a lot better. 4/5
I've been using this app for a long time now and I must say that the makers have really improved this app a lot! NYC subway lines and NJ Transit are a little tolerable when it comes to waiting bec of this app as you see and anticipate when your train or bus is coming. The older version of the app wasn't so accurate and missed a lot of trains and busses, but now it is definitely a lot better and more reliable. Keep it up.
They Love Their Work 4/5
That was the most insane and glorious "What's New" write up ever.
Excellent Functionality, Well-Designed 5/5
Pretty reliable. Useful features. Ahead of the curve for efficient design. Ed Tufte would probably approve.
Best transit app out there 5/5
I live in the Bay Area, and even the SF muni system has conceded this app kills theirs. If I had a complaint I'd say it doesn't include ferry lines as commute options when they're available. I think it's an algorithm issue that promotes busses over ferrys a little too aggressively. But that's it.
I'm always on time 5/5
Before this app I never was able to catch the bus on time. Now I am able to plan when I should leave my house. This gives me plenty of time to get ready to go.
The best 5/5
Is there anything else to say, this app is the best !!
Best app updates 5/5
By All other nicknames taken4
Whoever writes your app updates is amazing. Hilarious and informative. Oh, and also the app is great, simply solves an everyday problem. 5 stars and tons of support!
Data issues 3/5
Yes, we all know that Transit relies on the data from transit agencies. But that's a crucial source that determines success for this app, and most importantly, for the trips everyone takes and relies on this app for.
I went to the airport. Used Go. It told me to leave from the Aquarium in 14 minutes. I was actually already at the station, so I waited--even considered going to nearby South Station.
The GPS showed the train as far away. Until it didn't. The clock went from 11 minutes to...arriving. So much for the GPS.
Ultimately, I didn't end up waiting as long. But what if I heeded the apps advice and left in 14 minutes? I would have missed the train that came infrequently. I know it's not Transit's fault, but what good is planning if the data is good to plan from?
Transit App #VegasStyle 5/5
From New York, to Las Vegas, to Honolulu... The Transit App is a successful application for anyone on the go! Whether you are walking or using public transit, this app gets you to where you want to go, in as little time as possible! Highly recommended for 2017! Transit App is leading the way from Vegas to the great beyond!
Won't update! 2/5
The Transit app won't update on a 7 plus running iOS 10.2. It keeps asking to update continually and when I try it, it says it's having trouble. There's no problem with the other updates, just this app.
Best transit app!!! 5/5
By Mocha Palms
Works great in Seattle. I use it everyday.
This is great most of the time 2/5
By A Jayy
This app is cool most of the time, it usually gets me to work and where I need to go. However, the few times it doesn't is what's frustrating. I live in a highly populated area but it still says "lost GPS signal" and then tells me the last bus comes in 2 minutes (I live about 5 minutes away from my bus stop and the last bus comes at 11 pm, not 2:30 pm). I really hope you can fix this issue; I've been late to work for every shift for the past 2 weeks and I'd like to not lose my job over something that can be easily fixed. Thanks.
Best Transit App Around! 5/5
Transit has always been my favorite app to use!
We need more apps like this in the world 5/5
Great design, really helpful.
Like This App Needs Another Five-Star Review 5/5
By Gerzer Software
If you look at the public transportation apps featured in the App Store, they almost always have the name "Citymapper". I have yet to comprehend how Apple's App Store editors have the guts to promote Citymapper over the albeit poorly-named app called "Transit". Citymapper's UI is confusing, and the app lacks basic features like real-time navigation of the quality seen in Transit's "GO" functionality.
I'm too lazy to write more, so you can just read over all of the other glowing reviews to get a sense for how great Transit is.
Must have app for commuters. 5/5
I take the bus almost everyday to work and the real-time bus schedules have been highly accurate. No more wondering if the bus is going to be late or not.
App is Great. App update writer is Awesome. 5/5
I use the app almost daily and it's pretty great and accurate. Sometimes the GPS locator + arrival estimation is a bit off at times but I blame that more on human error. However, I believe my highest review goes out to the guy/gal who writes the descriptions for the app updates. Constantly looking forward to them even more than the bug fixes, to be honest. So whoever you are, keep it up and know that you're duly appreciated.
if this was elementary i would give you my whole packet of well done stickers 5/5
i dont know who writes the update descriptions but i just want whoever it is to know that i love you
the app itself is also great and easy to use
Transit is like Christmas wrapped in bacon 5/5
If only every app was as well written and intuitive as Transit; every update is like an angel coming down and kissing me right in the app. The only thing better than the Transit app is reading what's in the updates.
Usually works well - but not always 4/5
By NYC doctor
Used it last night and it told me to get off the NYC subway because we were at my stop... Only we weren't and my stop was the next stop.
Loving this app. Sooo accurate! 5/5
This app is extremely helpful. I recommend downloading 100%
BEST COMMUTING APP EVER 5/5
This app is so easy to use and simple, provides real time data and i wouldnt leave the house without it
Great when traveling! 5/5
The app is handy for my commute, it's good to know if my bus is late or if I just missed it. But, I know commute. The real value for me has been when I'm traveling, using Transit to plan my trip in unfamiliar cities is a real win!
One of the best apps ever 5/5
I love it—I use it everyday!
Solid 5 Stars.
commuting in the d.c. metro area is seamless with this app. magically combines data from unrelated transit authorities into an accurate and complete package. you'll never need to use another source again (nor want to!)
Best in class transit app 5/5
By Michael Hood
Awesome and fast app.
@devs- can we get some visual feedback when network requests fail? Data can be stale and refresh could fail (yay cell providers) without any indication that you're looking at data that may not be up to date. Or even just a timestamp that shows how old the data is.
Thanks for the continuing improvements!
Love !! 5/5
I live in NYC and have been using this app for over a year now. Thank you for making my daily commute a whole lot easier.
I love this app. 5/5
The best for someone who uses public transport daily!
Absolutely love this app 5/5
Love this app as it is amazing at helping me to plan trips and know what time I need to be out the door by. So much flexibility built in. The only thing that rivals the awesomeness of this app is its own update messages. Gotta love that creative changelog!
Greate app! It works in Milwaukee 5/5
Works perfectly in Milwaukee and Chicago
Stamp of Approval 5/5
When an app works as advertised, I'm happy. When it goes above and beyond, it gets the stamp of approval.
The Best ™ 5/5
By Fishy Princess
Hands down, best and most reliable transit app I've found. The updates are accurate and change according to the buses, not the set schedules. Updates are always a delight to read, and the lay out is easy and simple to use. The features it has are amazingly useful, and I'm pretty sure I'd roll over and die without this app. 15/10, would recommend 100 times over.
Needs real time data 4/5
User provided data could make this more accurate. Also it would be nice to have a feature that allows you to alert local transit authorities that busses and trains are not running on schedule
Fantastic in the most important way 5/5
Charismatic and relationship focused updates. I will use this app for ever.
Great App 5/5
I've been using this on my daily commute (the bus) for 3 weeks, and after using this app, my wait time has reduced significantly (especially in the cold). So far the timing has been accurate.
Robust options, amazingly useful 5/5
I'm not sure how they managed to put this together and for it to be free, but I love this app. It's so much better than the official information available to me about my route. It's made me a user of public transit.
This app is honestly better than all of the apps for my transit in my city put together- and in NYC, there tend to be a lot. Still a little iffy on a few trains, but that's fine! No program can ever really fully account for rush hour.
