Won't take cars over 130k 1/5
I have a beautiful toyota with over 130k I would like to put on turo but they won't take it because they don't take ANY cars over 130k no matter the brand. Your loss turo, someone could rent this and you make money but I guess you don't want money

Booked once and had no issues with my host. Simple to use. Very good verification system. Lots of customisable options - like snow tires, dog friendly cars, manual transmission etc. Way more than I can possibly get from regular rental companies.

I love this app! Seriously cuts the middle man out and you find great cars to drive for a better price. The app is so user friendly and it has a great look to it. Our family has used it twice in the past month and it has not disappointed us. Really encourage everyone to use Turo instead of looking to rent a car through Hertz or where ever else.

I’ve been trying to book a car for over a week. So far none is working. There are too many conditions, requires minimum days, mileage limits, not available to pick up and drop off, not available on certain days, prices change from one screen to another.....
I’d rather use enterprise, etc. real business.

The worst experience ever! 1/5
I had a month left before my trip was about to take place and I was trying to confirm my account and they wouldn’t let me and the customer service team was the worst trying to pass us onto other people and kept on saying wait for 2 days again and again and so then it came to a week before my trip and I still couldn’t get a car ! I followed all their instructions and I will never be using this app ever again ! Waist of time
Easy cheap rental in Phoenix 5/5
Straight forward 2007 Toyota convertible rental in Phoenix. Vehicle was located next to airport in 24/7 lot with shuttle. Cheaper than any other rental from Sky Harbor. Would use this service again.
TERRIBLE CAR RENTAL COMPANY DO NOT USE ! 1/5
So last year I was referred to try this app to rent a car. So I downloaded followed the steps to be approved to rent a car. The process took foreverrrr to get approved I had to keep doing the verification over and over, had to keep emailing them, and sending my license picture and photos. After finally getting a approved a was able to rent a car from this guy, okay cool everything went smooth. Returned the car to its owner that’s when they charge your card after the trip. So I checked my bank statement it didn’t say the payment was taken out but they charged my card already so assuming I had to wait and see the payment being removed from my bank account. In that time I’m asking the reason who I rented from did he get paid he said YES. Idk by me asking that if he thought I was doing fraud or something but after renting with him TURO TELLS ME I CANT RENT WITH THEM ANYMORE. I’m clueless to what I did? I tried making a different email and all to try to rent again but when I put my license number or card number they told me the error message that I can’t rent a car from them anymore. After that I tried contacting customer service and they were basically giving me the run around saying the same thing. So today I made another email to see if it would be the same thing, YES NOTHING changed except this time they told me “ Pre Turo policy, mentioned in our previous message, we are not able or obligated to release the details of our review process. We are sorry, but this is a final decision. We suggest that you may want to use one of the more traditional car rental companies. “ like really that message was sent to me after I asked why you guys can’t tell me the reason I can’t rent with you guys cause I did nothing wrong and they tell me THEY ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO TELL ME that’s nuts. Any other company that rejects you of their services will give you a REASON this company is FOOLISH! Yes I’m upset cause I know I did nothing wrong and I actually liked the app but after this mess I wouldn’t recommend it!!!!

There are lots of hidden price and Turo will charge you automatically when car owners claim that they deserve more. Turo will then inform you AFTER they charged your credit card. Also, you will not be able to delete your credit card information in Turo even if you call their representatives because their App and website do not support that functionality. I rented a Toyota RAV4 for two days and I ended up paying $400 including $100 for extra miles and $75 for cleaning. I have years of car rent experience when I go for ski. I never get charged for cleaning fee caused by snow. Trust me, it is not some heavy snow because I am in California. It was my first as well as my last time using Turo. I will go back to Hertz or Enterprise. If you think you can save some money by renting a car in Turo, think again!!

I personally wouldn’t recommend anyone use this app. You will likely input all your information only for them to deny you access. Now all your info is in there system and Turo can sale it to other companies to contact you without you even having access to the app.

Turos concept is good but their customer service is horrible. They blocked my account because of an idiot renter who charged me a late fee for returning the car two hours earlier than a full day of renting their car. And not only that Turo charged me a fee as well.

I rented a car about 6 weeks in advance, then a week before the rental, the guy cancels with no explanation, and the alternatives with this little notice are way more expensive or way worse quality. Would not recommend!
Do not list your car on Turo! Read below 1/5
I owned two vehicles and leased them to guests through the Turo app. I leased the vehicles many times and maintained a 5 star rating with 100% quality ratings.
I paid for the standard insurance protection which is $0 out of pocket expenses for owners. After the 16th trip, a guest returned the vehicle with major wheel and body damage.
Turo rejected my claim and created multiple false excuses so that they would not have to cover the damages.
Trust me, if any damage happens to your car, Turo will not cover it. Obtain your own commercial insurance if you wish to lease your car, and decline Turo's insurance.
Deactivated my account 12 hours before my trip 1/5
I had a planned trip, everything was paid for, used turo many times before and was all ready.
I get an email from turo 12 hours before my trip saying that they deactivated my account... called in, they said they will talk to me via email because they can’t help via phone. What a load of crap
So my partner tried to book an alternative car and she is getting denied as well. Error says she’s ineligible for a membership.
Ny hotel is not providing refund or anything so... yup I’m hundreds of dollars at lost
The worst part? Turo takes weeks to return my money so... there’s that

Had this app for literally an hour for my rental and somehow it has used 800MB of data already. I know I have to upload photos for my sake thru the app but 800MB???
Make sure to use this app only when you have WiFi aka don’t upload when you’re supposed to at the place you pickup the car. Hope they fix this. What a shock.

If something goes wrong, don’t think you’re going to get it worked out through their customer service. I wanted to drop a car off early because I ended up not needing it as long as I thought, And they wouldn’t refund me the money because the owner denied my request to drop it off early.

A customer took my car (2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat) for a 2 day trip and in just 48 hours managed to completely destroy the clutch. When I called him immediately after he dropped the vehicle off he said “he noticed the issue from the second he picked it up” and thought “that’s just how the car drove”. So this customer thought my Hellcat with a top speed over 200mph could barely pull away or hit a top speed over 55-60mph and that that was normal, which was surprising to me because I have a tracker in my car which clocked him driving the car at over 85mph within 15 minutes of picking the car up.
When I brought all of this to Turo’s attention they basically turned out to be the most unhelpful group of morons I have ever dealt with. Unless you couldn’t give the slightest crap about your vehicle, do not list it on Turo.

This app is all fine and dandy until you need to speak to someone. It takes days to a week for them to respond. Then they will kick you off the program for no apparent reason and will give you no information why your account is canceled. No appeal process either. I’ve never been so angry at a company before.

I decided to give the app a try since I always rent from major car rental companies. Went through the whole process and kept getting a error message I tried contacting customer service which they only have through text or email waiting time is terrible yet they tell me I’m not able to rent out a vehicle from there site no reason and won’t tell me why!! Wast of time .. They should at lease send you a email as to why I could not rent . so stupid !! No stars !

It’s great renting from strangers, once you find one that is actually available. I had to request four rentals and each time they took my money even if they cancelled the trip. I was refunded two days laters but just the fact that they pull money from your account each time you request and make you wait for a refund is inconvenient. Other than that it’s not bad if you need to rent a car quick.

This app is mostly what I expected when I downloaded it, great way to rent from local individuals which greatly expands the variety of cars you can rent vs using traditional rental services.
App needs more filtering options within the car search, for example, when I have family members coming to town and need a large SUV that seats 6+, there’s no option for filtering results based upon # of seats (even though this data is captured from car owners and displayed on most car listings). So I’m left sifting through a bunch of SUVs to find any that have enough seats and suit our other desired features.
Also, the rental extension can be very tricky. I was stuck in traffic and knew I’d be a little late returning a vehicle, but instead of an hour or two extension, Turo only gave me the option to add an additional DAY. Apparently, sometimes they allow extensions and other times you have to add an entire day??
I love renting my cars and renting others.. life changing.. amazing for the environment.. turo is the best, thank you Turo.

They’ll let an owner scam you 1/5
The owner of my rental made me return it in a dark alley. The owner drove away while I was trying to take photos at the end of the rental. 24 hours later they reported damage I don’t believe that I did. While this is a specific instance, Turo charged my credit card immediately then dragged the claim out for one month before they would speak with me on the phone. They are also not a car rental company so your Amex or personal car insurance WILL NOT COVER ANY DAMAGE. The other times I’ve used it I’ve been charged hefty fees on top of what I was quoted up front. Don’t chance it, just rent from a reputable company.
