***WARNING READ BEFORE USING TURO** 1/5
Before using the Turo service I too thought of the app as a really neat service. Although this company has a great concept, their business and customer service practices are Some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. After renting a car on Turo for the first time, The AC unit in the car I rented went out on me. It was over 100° that weekend and I had my small child that weekend as well. Once the AC went out I contacted the owner of the car and he advised me to Modify the return date of my rental turn earlier date this way I could rent another car that he had available for rent on Turo. After making the change in the app I attempted to rent the new vehicle however it was not excepting my debit card. Since this was the case I tried to reverse the modification on the return date that was made yet the system would not allow me to change the date back to what I had it before. Despite making the owner of the car aware of this issue, he still insisted that I return the car early, but if I did that would’ve left me without a vehicle, a small child, in a city that was scorching hot that day. I explained to the owner that I would just have to wait until Monday to contact Turo thinking that they would do the right thing and readjust the return date that the owner of the car advise me to change. Unfortunately this was not the case, despite my explanation of the circumstances Touro elected to charge me a $200 late return fee. At this point I have made for separate attempts to clear things up with them however the company tonight my request, canceled my membership on the app, and failed to provide any justification for their actions. At this point I Have no choice but to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Texas Department of consumer affairs, and a small claims suit to simply collect the $200 that was wrongfully taken out of my account.
Just some food for thought for Turo...If this is how you’re going to treat your customers your business is going to go down the tubes in no time. What you guys did to me was completely wrong and frankly you need to get a grip on how you’re operating your business. This situation was absolutely horrible and no customer should ever have to be left to deal with the crap that you guys have left me with.

For instance, it would be nice to be able to search the ENTIRE county (In list form, not just in the map) instead of just in you area. And when you do that, you see ALL of the listings, not just the ones that are available for the days selected. Other than that, good app.

I love this service and my first experience was brilliant! I drove a dream car that was previously out of reach for me to ever drive. Wow! I still can't believe I was able to scratch that itch in a way that made sense for both myself and the owner.

More cars to chose from, no credit card required, friendly owners, more mileage included, and cars in your neighborhood (making it easier/quicker than a rental agency. Oh, and you can extend the rental period at the touch of a button without extra fees and be picked up from the airport CURBSIDE.

This app is great. Took a trip to Miami for business and used the Turo app for rental vehicle needs. Why would I ever use anyone else after this!?!? It’s super easy, it’s super safe and it’s super reliable. As far as the vehicle owner goes, super Dope! He was extremely professional, had a very nice shopping list of vehicles and was just all around awesome. Thank you Turo.

I lament writing a bad review about any company. Turo left me no choice. My renter canceled at last minute. Not turo’s fault but they did almost nothing to help. First of all they say they’ll help you rebook. When every car left 8 hours before my pickup was more than $100 more than my rental I was offered nothing.
I was disconnected twice (poor cell service) and never got a call back. They told me San Francisco customer service would call me back. They never did.
Supervisor told me the conversation was “unproductive” because I explained to her that it was going to costs me hundreds more. Another agent told me “you need to listen.” I was then offered $30 credit which was the max until a few minutes later she offered $50. I tried to explain I wasn’t looking for a handout or any punitive amount. I just needed a car (anything was fine) at same price.
End of story: I rented from a major car rental company. Love the idea of this company. Have rented before and it was great.
But beware: they will not help you. It could cost you hundreds of dollars and a lot of time. At your own risk.

I just got back off business trip in Anaheim California, where I had my first experience with Turo for my rental car. I was a little nervous about trying it out since it was such a different method. My mom and I enjoyed the Mini Cooper Sport so much, we tooled around in it the whole week not only on the freeways but low roads to the beach. Dealing with the host was a real piece of cake because he had excellent communication skills. The Turo app would get a 5 except the messaging feature seemed to have a significant delay as compared to just texting back and forth thru regular text. 5 stars if you guys can speed that up and generate a more significant alert when a message comes in thru the app. I will definitely rent thru Turo on my future trips!

If you're trying to save money do not use turo because at the end it will be more expensive then a regular rental company.
When i gave the car back i asked the owner by message if it was everything ok with his car, then he said yes and had the courage to ask me for 5 stars. After 10 days I received a notice asking me to pay the cleaning of the car. Didn't i ask him about it? Why did he lie? Just to get 5 stars? Besides i did not dirty the car, any owner can take advantage and mess with the car by themselves and blame who rented. Is just a easy way of stealing money. If you don't want HEADACHE DO NOT use Turo.

They could win every award for worst customer service in every single category! After my 3rd phone call I asked to speak to a supervisor I must have asked 3 people more than 100 times. Never spoke to a supervisor and the idiots I talked to were basically reading off a screen and so incompetent they couldn’t answer the simplest questions!!! USE UBER!! Avoid this worthless customer service. It’s been 10 hours!! And the owner still hasn’t confirmed my reservation!!! And yet they won’t cancel it!!

I've been an owner on turo since July 2015 and rented to over 20 people. Of all the experiences, only 2 were negative. Both times the customer service at Turo was awesome and took care of it. I love this service because I can make some extra cash and I don't have much risk in the game. My choice who I rent to. I'd recommend to all.

I love Turo so far. I've made almost $1,000 in the first two months of renting out my 2012 V6 Mustang. Love turning my car into an asset that generates passive income and customer support on Turo has been very helpful as well! Great interface and Turo seems to keep updating and improving their system. I recommend it to others all the time.

I never write a review but I live near Philly and rent with Vincent in West Chester PA and he is absolutely amazing! He's so easy and pick up and drop off is a breeze. It's extremely affordable and I haven't had any issues at all.
No deposit just pay pick up and go.
I was hesitant at first because I don't trust a lot of places but in my experience, my husband and I will definitely continue to rent with him on Turo. Excellent customer service and very convenient.

First time user. Found the interface convoluted with a mishmash of policies and rates regarding pick up and delivery. One owner wanted me to take a $15 uber to pick up the car. I finally found a car that was right and once I selected it. The owner came back that the car was not available because he wanted to use it for uber that day!?!? Why would you be allowed to list your car as available then pull it at inquiry? Finally rented from Avis at 40% less the. The cheapest Turo. Adios Turo

Perfect person to person car renting. As a renter, it brings money in while I get to meet incoming travelers to my city. The app gives me all the tools I need to make sure everything is documented and have constant communication with my driver. As a traveler, it’s a lot more calming to meet another human to hand over the car than an agency. I’ve driven away with the car in less than 30 minutes and I am able to plan ahead. What makes this platform work is the ease of communication and reliability with other people.

I have had so much headache with people not responding to orders and to wait hours to end up being declined is a joke! If your not serious about renting take yourself off. It is just disrespectful. Once i get the car it is ok but before doing the research and then dealing with the car is so annoying. You spend so much time trying to find best price, best location, best car and then have to start over again and most of the time cannot book last minute as people want 12+ hours. If you don't need a car urgently or don't care what you get, this works great, if it is urgent be prepared. At one time we got lucky and got a benz jeep for $42!

Other than customer service taking a day to get back to me and then not quite answer the question our first experience with Turo went very well. Customer service could have just told us adding a driver needed to happen through the website. We kept trying to do so through the app. Turo is a great alternative to traditional renting options. Just make sure you rent one with enough mileage.

I don’t usually do app reviews. Wait, I never do them. But I have to let other people know about this! I downloaded this app thinking it would be the answer to my transportation needs and I was sadly disappointed. I signed up and everything was fine. As soon as I booked my first car rental, the problems came about. First, I never knew there was an “young drivers fee,” which carried $7-$8 a day minimum. In addition to the rental of the actual car. Mind you, I’m only 21. Secondly, I book the rental anyway and was given a confirmation email as well. An hour later, I was given another email saying I was denied for renting cars. Plus they added that my account was deleted. I still don’t have any idea what I did or what requirements I didn’t meet, because they failed to inform me. Now, all the plans I had. Cancelled. Truly terrible. I emailed the company. And currently waiting for a reply.

I would not recommend using this. It's a total rip off. I booked a trip but apparently there was a miscommunication on the pick up location. They charge you to deliver to the airport if you can't pick it up at their location. Hence I canceled the trip. Before I submitted, it said the fee was $16. This was less than a 5 hrs of booking. After I hit cancel, it said it would charge me $42.
Seriously? they should have refunded me the whole thing because I canceled within 4-5hr of booking
