Unable to log in 2/5
By KD7ZIC Pat
I just got a new iPhone X and cannot log in. It just crashes everytime I try to log on. I'm a paying, longtime client and can't log in to see my station. Please fix it and I'll change my rating.
App freezes. 3/5
Last update cause app to freeze on load for about 10 seconds on iPhone X. This was not present in previous version.
Poor app for weather 1/5
All the poor features of the app are still poor. My opinion is they are paying people to rate is high. Also now they are deleting webcam support which is the one feature I found unique and helpful.
Very sad. I never imagined a time when ads would ask if I want to pay to have them removed. It's extortion.
Worked great till the last few updates 1/5
Every time I send a crowd report it crashes. It freezes up every time I open it and try tap something or scroll. I paid for the ad removal and now I regret it.
Love to see offline weather 5/5
Use the sunset data almost daily to plan last light rides or climbing in the evenings. Often times we’re deep in the mountains when using the app, at which point we’re far from service. Would be great if the last available data was displayed, even if old. Maybe do some type of offline notification to make it apparent it’s not up to date. If we had the the forecast and sunrise/sunset data, even if a few hours old, I’d give this 15 stars as it would really help us when we need the information the most.
Was very happy *until* Webcams got canned 1/5
... for no discernible reason or explanation. Do you not understand how much people rely on them?
Rainfall totals are always ZERO 2/5
Sometimes this app is useful and sometimes it’s a bigger mess than a soup sandwich. The worst thing about it is that the rainfall total is consistently reported as being zero regardless if we are in a flood watch status (like now) or during a drought. There’s never been an attempt to fix that bug. For awhile this year, the entire app was nearly useless... I guess the monkey at the typewriter didn’t realize (or care) that a “new” version should be tested before release. I keep it because the local scientific discussion can be interesting, even amusing, depending on which meteorologist composed it that day. A few of them actually understand the limitations of their (ancient) computer forecast models!
love it but 3/5
after havingg paid to get rid of ads the app suddebpnly hungup the only thing i coul do to fimx it wad reinstall, guess what happened? the ads reappeared!!!! go figure
There’s problem with the app 2/5
By Pro cômputurs
There bug in the app .
It’s shut down when I trying to add location.
Please fix this problem.
My favorite weather app 5/5
Love the massive input shown for a region. It's great since traditional weather forecasts simply use the national weather data. Well reality is that there are always many microclimates that are much more accurate. This micro detail is critical for gardening and just for weather geeks who want facts, not generalities. Thank you for a great easy to use comprehensive tool!
Needs a few improvements 4/5
Love the app but I can't load the radar maps, always crashes.
Problems with recent iOS update 3/5
There’s been plenty of time to sort out compatibility issues (with the new iOS), but this app is still buggy. I add stations, they disappear. Sometimes the data being reported is obviously wrong and I have to reload the station. Sometimes I delete a station and it returns again and again. Used to be my go-to. (I’m a WeatherUnderground subscriber.)
Busy layout 1/5
Much prefer the clean layout of he storm app. Let us swap and have the option to remove “current conditions” so that forecast is on top.
Would prefer the ability to see the weather in a text list style format rather than overly graphical.
The app freezes every time it starts up. It starts fine then immediately it freezes for at least 30 seconds and then moves slow. This app has always worked but after a few updates from the app developers it seems like it’s going backwards in stability, not forward. Hope this review helps because this was my number one weather app. I have an iPhone 7 Plus
what happened?! 1/5
in the last three days I can’t get any info. the app is almost completely frozen. yes I have turned my phone on and off three times. tried to find app support on the app page and it just led me to something else to buy.
The radar in this app has to be the worst I have ever seen.
Watch App worthless 1/5
Have a Series 3 cellular and all the app does is flash the WU logo at me. Not at cellular issue because does this even when connected to WiFi. What should be a one second process to ping a server with my preset location and return temp and other basic weather data still is not completed after two minutes.
Best User Interface 5/5
I don’t know who is UI engineer of this app, but I really like user interface of this app. It is intuitive and easy to understand, and with radar map, you may immediately identify when the rain will come. Also you could see when the rain will start, and when to finish. I recommend this app to everyone that I know of.
WU got money hungry 1/5
Sold out to the Weather Channel.
I switched to another app.
Another iOS update, another buggy app 2/5
On an iPhone 8+ running iOS 11.1.2.
Ever since upgrading to an iPhone 8+ and iOS 11 Wunderground crashes every time I use it. And not only does it crash once, it crashes repeatedly trying to simply view the current temp and 10 day forecast.
I left TWC app years ago, but may be forced to reevaluate if WU doesn’t clean up bugs soon.
Very good weather app 5/5
By Giant Cyclist
11/18/17 this has been fixed.
Like the app and forecast + radars are good but when sending local weather report it crashes
Was my #1 weather app, not anymore 3/5
As far as the weather, it’s good, but in the past year they have taken away weather photos and now the webcams. Those made the app stand out from the rest. I pay for the pro version with no ads because this app was unique, but not anymore.
Good on iPhone bad on watch 3/5
I really like this app a lot but it’s pretty bad on the watch. It takes forever for the app to load and the complication doesn’t update often enough to really be useful. I really want to give them a 5 rating but the watch app is in desperate need for improvement.
Like it....but 2/5
Nice with the added activities. But I paid twice to be add free. Yet it still covered in ads
Goodbye to webcams? Goodbye wunderground!!! 1/5
They just announced a “WE’RE SAYING GOODBYE To Webcams” message. Without webcams to verify current weather conditions, I no longer have a need for this app.
Good app with annoying bugs 2/5
Still buggy. Choppy scrolling. Slow to refresh. The following two bugs still exist.
First, the radar preview never updates when refreshing weather for the same location. You have to swipe left or right to a new location then come back. This bug has existed for a long time. Fix it.
Second, the details pane does this weird scrolling thing when I scroll up or down. It’s like it gets caught and tries to move with the scroll instead of staying put.
Latest update much improved 4/5
I'm a paying customer who has used this app to assist with my landscape photography and outdoor activity planning for more than a year. It was great until the last few months or so when newly introduced bugs seemed to pile up and wreck the user experience. Thankfully the latest update appears to have fixed the most prominent bugs, and the app is once again enjoyable to use. However, I still see room for improvement - the performance and responsiveness do leave a little to be desired. Scrolling on an iPhone 6 is jittery, and the actual weather data is slow to update on an LTE cellular connection, and sometimes the app insists on showing you stale data until you force a refresh. Seems like they could probably improve the load times with faster servers, a lighter data payload, and some good old compression. Background refresh would also be nice - it doesn't seem to update in the background for me.
Not what it used to be... 2/5
UPDATE: First the the Wunder photos, now the webcams? 😩 If they kept those two features and gave us the option to pay to get rid of ads, I'd pay.
I've been using this app for a few years, but recently it's gone downhill. As others have mentioned, the removal of the Wunder photos feature is a huge disappointment. I enjoyed starting my day looking at those beautiful photos from places I'll likely never visit.
Also, data (such as flu reports) is often missing; ads are more intrusive. Disappointed!
Wunderground' the best 5/5
Best app for weather. Easy to use and gives you an hourly forecast, which I've found to be pretty accurate. Easy to view different cities even in foreign countries. What's not to like?
Weather.com style bloating... 2/5
To get what's been happening to the WUnderground app, one needs only to look at the history of the WUnderground website. It used to be a great weather website. Fast, light, detailed, to the point - an improbable combination. Then, after ruining their own site to the point of unusability, in came Weather.com. Gradually, the number of bells and whistles grew, the performance of the site dwindled, and the advertising became unbearable. These days, WUnderground.com is a mirror of weather.com: a slow, fat behemoth that never quite left the early 2005 internet behind. Unfortunately, the same has started happening to the app this year. While it was once really the fastest and the most useful feature-rich app on the app store (at the same time, no small feat!), it's been in decline. Useful things are going, bloat, gimmicks and bad ads are coming. Storm, the accidental offshoot, remains ok for now, but based on the past track record of the efficient managers at TWC, it will eventually go too.
Getting rid of webcams 1/5
Your getting rid of the webcam service that was my favorite part! Looks like I’ll be getting rid of you!
Super Buggy Glitchy Radar 2/5
By The DJ Pelo
Use to be the go to app for radar
Now it stutters and glitchy useless
iPad app is crashing when scrolling. 1/5
iPad app is crashing when scrolling.
Great comprehensive app 5/5
Love this app
Great app 5/5
The only thing missing is lightning locations during storms.
Update is a fail 1/5
This app used to be the best. Now it barely works. Please give me back last July’s version.
The (new) developers have demonstrated they can't create a quality or good product.
It takes multiple attempts to try to sign in. pressing the sign in button after entering your info. it won't work unless you try multiple times.
Signing-in to your account is useless. it's not linked to your desktop account. none of my favourites show up. There's often a lag with App unrelated to your wifi speed.
Current data is often incorrect. It says no rain despite other providers indicating the current condition is in fact rain. Don't fall for fake positive reviews especially from those who claim to experts in the field.
The old 32 bit version was far superior in every way.
Maybe this app will become unsupported like Wunderradio. This app it's not worth consuming more than 210 MB of storage space. uninstalled.
GETTING BLOATED.... 3/5
I get the ads... at least tiles can be edited, but its overkill
Both this app and Storm do not push notifications. I never get a response from their tech support either. Used to be my go-to app.... no more. I'd rate it zero stars if I could. The recent update did not fix this.
Weather Underground gives more detail 5/5
Weather Underground gives lots of details about when storms are coming in, how much snow to expect in winter storms, and day by day as well as hour by hour forecasts. The forecasts are generally more accurate than others. I highly recommend this app.
Animation App Crash 4/5
When I was on the 6S the app would always crash every time I was trying to look up tropical storm info in the hurricane tab. Now that I’m on the X, the app crashes every time I zoom out of the map while animation is looping. What is the deal with your maps crashing the app all the time? I don’t think there’s an issue with X graphics chip. Last I checked it’s pretty current and capable of handling 2D cloud animation.
I’ve used this app for the last 6 years on 3 different iPhones, not once have I used a Weather Underground app version that didn’t crash on me in the last 2 years.
Still my go-to app—no more crashes! 5/5
By Dr cats
Latest update fixed the crashing. Hurray! I knew you could do it!
— — —
Just now installed the latest update (10/31/17), and it still crashes immediately upon sending weather feedback. iOS 11 isn’t making things easy, but I have faith in you!
Yep, still my favorite--super local weather AND compiled info on fronts etc makes it a winner. They bought the iPad app that was my other fav and incorporated into another app called Storm--also good. I like the Control Center widget on this one.
New version: This is still the best weather app for iPhone. (I have another one I love for iPad, but I use my phone far more.) You do have to scroll a bit to see everything on the front page--I didn't even know all that stuff was there for a long time. But I like being able to use and verify my neighbor's weather data, and I love being able to toggle between hourly and daily forecasts. Keep up the great work!
Previous version: I don't know about the semi pro spotters out there, but for me this app is great, and far and away the best weather app available. Love that I can keep the weather radio in the background while I look at radar and flip through screens. Since we no longer subscribe to cable tv, this makes the app an excellent resource for (impending) emergencies, like the storms we are expecting in a few hours!
Best yet. 5/5
By Brain excercise
I am very particular about weather information because it's pretty important. I've tried countless sites and aps. Definitely the best yet.
Back to 5 stars again! 5/5
By Not what I was expecting
Great app! This is my go-to app for weather and one I use daily based on the features. Was super buggy for a few months around the iOS 11 release (would crash if you tried to scroll) but has now been fixed. I’ve had this app for years and that was the only issue I’ve ever had. Anyway, the app allows you to automatically bounce around local weather stations as you move around the city/country, which is great for current conditions and forecast accuracy. Since you’re not stuck with just a small handful of stations like other apps (I’m in Denver and there are a few hundred stations scattered around the city) it really helps provide the best view possible of what the local weather is doing. Plus it reconciles all the local station data with the major stations and the NWS for a complete view. Do yourself a favor and get this app!
By man outside
Slowest radar ever. Full of ads, gotta pay extra to get rid of them.
Not Reliable- every day is 66! 1/5
This app seems to be okay in letting me know what tomorrow and next week's temperatures are, but for the present day it ALWAYS says 66!! Right now it is 27, not even close!!
All the info! 5/5
Have used WU online for years. The app delivers all the data you need in an efficient package.
Widget is broken 3/5
Unable to load error message in the widget. How?
Always wrong. 1/5
I want to love it because it's so visually beautiful and functional, but it's always wrong. Take right now... it's 37 degrees out in central Ohio, yet the giant numbers overtop of the map says 68-feels like 68, even though the smaller numbers on the map says 37 and surrounding areas are 40 through 36. Now if you go down to the graph area, listed for today is 68 but just below at the graph the line is plainly at the 35-37 area.
I've kept this app for more than a year hoping they will fix it but they never do....it's always at least 10 degrees off of anything else I look at.
Good app now 5/5
Good app now, keep info current & work out bugs first before releasing another update
