You should have this app!! 5/5
This is quite literally one of my favorite and most important apps. I tell everyone about it. Especially parents—watching babies and kids change in video is just amazing and priceless. I love having tiny bits of our lives collected like this every month. I’ve been making these videos for like 3.5 years now I think, and I probably won’t ever stop!
Unaffected by what others are complaining about 5/5
One of the coolest things about this app they don’t advertise is that the “Live Photo” capability of the iPhone finally comes in handy for something. Every one of those is about a second, so any photo you already have in your phone can become part of a video. It’s cool to see your day-to-day photos turned into live footage, I guess. Many of these reviews complain about a march update that took away features, which confuses me because I didn’t even notice and I’ve been a near-daily user since January. I broke my phone in April and was so bummed to lose the seconds I’d taken since then that I recently upgraded to monthly pro. If people are mad they get only one snippet a day, they can always spend the dollar a week it would cost to get more snippets or even use the freestyle capability. I do dislike the orientation of video since I rarely shoot horizontally but other than that, I enjoy this app completely and it’s one of the few I will pay for.
Cool concept, but Pro version is overpriced 3/5
I love the idea and I’ve made a pretty cool video, but I wish the the pro feature weren’t so crazy expensive. A subscription simply isn’t worth it. I’d be 10x more likely to pay for it if it were a one time payment, and I think a lot of people would agree?
Loved it until this update 2/5
I was a huge fan of this app prior to the new update. It keeps glitching on me, and I can’t play the entire video that I am snipping. Also, when I mash the videos together, it only plays one second at a time. I repeatedly have to push play in order for it to continue the video. I also don’t like the switch to vertical. I’m a little disappointed that using this app isn’t as easy for fun as it used to be.
Not cool 2/5
I don’t think it’s ok to have someone purchase a $5 app but then decide to offer a subscription as well. Why would you want a monthly subscription, you would have to keep paying or else risk losing your photos and videos? I paid for the app and I don’t think it’s fair to make people monthly for content.
Live Photos in the cloud don’t upload 2/5
I love the idea of the app, and I had hoped to use a shared album that my family shares for photos and videos of my daughter for her first year. However, live photos from shared albums on the cloud don’t upload to the app. You have to download each individual one and only then can you upload. This additional step makes it difficult to work with realistically.
Lost all progress 2/5
Not only had I done 5 months worth of videos and picture and I’ve had the app for a while. Yesterday I got a new phone and logged back into my account and ALL of my progress had been deleted. But also I’m not so smart and deleted them from my camera roll because I thought it would automatically save. It’s a shame that happened because I was really into the app and it was such a cute little thing. And I can’t log back in from my other phone so ALL PROGRESS JUST DISAPPEARED
Meant for premium users 2/5
When I was on a trip my all my friends were using a recommending this amazing app. So after the trip I downloaded it first on my ipad and the next day on my phone. I had expected the whole year worth of photos and videos to backup but I didn’t. And that would be ok if there was an easy way to backup all the work I put into it. But however you have to go back and download every picture separately and even then it doesn’t have all the photos and videos. I understand I can buy the premium version for this to be fixed but I should have to pay for a free app to be functional. I believe this is app is more focused for people buying premium than using it for free. The idea is good the free is misleading.
Who designed this?? 2/5
What do I want to do with this app? I want to take a 1 sec video each day. Simple right? No. Not to whoever designed this app.
Open up the app and you have a big mysterious button called “mash” on the home screen. What does that do? I still don’t know and don’t care.
What it doesn’t do is the ONE thing the app is about. Taking a 1 sec video. To get to that feature. You have to tap on todays date. (Slightly darker shade then other days. Good luck hunting for it on the go.) Then tap on Add Snippet. It opens up the camera roll. I don’t want the camera roll I want what this app is about: TAKING A LIVE VIDEO. Tap the Camera option to finally get to video then ACTUALLY take 1 sec video.
5-6 taps to finally stumble upon your MAIN FEATURE.
I don’t care that you want to be cool or be the next Snapchat. How about you do the ONE thing well that your marketing first then try to be a social network later.
Being aware of time 5/5
By Lake City L
I saw the TED talk by the developer of this app, and I subsequently bought the pro edition (apparently I need 3 seconds everyday). Thus far I love the fact that it helps me be mindful of each day, even if each day was just “the usual.” It also has been easy to use—the interface is good.
Needs iPad App 4/5
By TJ Folarin
1se is an excellent tool for capturing and reliving memories. Note to developers: please consider adding dedicated support for the iPad. I believe your app will thrive on a tablet interface
My music option 2/5
By Jake Philbrick
I love everything about this app, that I decided to purchase the pro version, I was really excited for the my music option but sadly it only connects to Apple Music and as a Spotify user I was unable to add my favorite songs to my mash since I own Spotify and not Apple Music. It would be great if you could expand my music to Spotify
So Addicting App 5/5
By Ricardo Autida
Oh god done with my 1 Month and its on Youtube credits to my Sister on this.
Updated 8/28: still vertical-only. Bummed to see it's still a vertical-only app 3/5
8/28 update: still not vertical and responses to other reviews indicate that it's "a lot of work" to make it a horizontal app again. Well, yeah. I'm sure it was a lot of effort to un-horizontal it in the first place. But given the number of long-time users who bailed on the app once you did that, I certainly hope you are putting in the effort.
Original: Didn't update in April when it went vertical-only because I'm middle-aged and my eyes can't focus on images that small. Sad to see that this July update hasn't addressed that issue. Many of my friends who normally post 1SE videos each month on Instagram haven't since that last update - I'm relieved that I didn't update and can still use it horizontally. Please for the love of my old eyes, allow this app to be vertical OR horizontal!
Other than this (deal-breaker) issue, I LOVE this app.
Other video options 5/5
I love this app, but most of my videos are on my Snapchat. Can y’all allow us to log into our snapchats and access our memories for the video?
Why are you charging me?? 1/5
I never planned on paying anything for this app, and now they are charging me $3.99 for a subscription. I cancelled the subscription I never signed up for, and they are telling me I can use the app until August 21st. I bet they are going to charge the $3.99 again 😡 I don’t know how to report this issue do I wrote it as a review.
This app is for EVERYONE age 3 to 103 5/5
I heard a podcast about this app and I’m only into day 4 and loving it. How did I live without this? It encourages focus on the positives in our lives which will probably be my biggest gain from the app. But the reason I downloaded it is to look at a monthly calendar to see what was my highlight or main task for each day! Heck I can forget what I did 3 days ago, ha!
It’s a fun, inspiring app. It’d be great for someone with a newborn baby to track the progress in a quick glance over 365 days! So I’m sharing this app 👍🏽♥️ Thank-You, Angie
Bring back horizontal 2/5
You say you live and die by the reviews, but you still don’t have the horizontal option for videos, and all the updates after March are terrible. I used it daily in the beginning of this year and now I don’t even open it. It’s sad really. You could at least have the option to choose either or, but now it’s just bad.
my best memories 5/5
By : ^. )
i used this app during my senior year of high school and i’m so grateful that i did. i got to capture my favorite memories until my graduation day and rn i’m sobbing watching them all compiled
By Insta Balla
My wife got the app when it was originally $5 and she has most of the features the app offers. I decided to get it a year later and now it’s a monthly subscription which seems a bit pricey for such a simple app. I decided to get it anyway and just use the free features which included 1.5 second videos and two clips per day. Now even those features are gone from the free version. I’m now in search of a better app because I’m not paying $30 each year for 7 minutes of video. If I could buy the app for a one time $5 fee, then I would gladly do that instead. Just be aware that if you use the free app you might get a year into it and all of the sudden not be able to use it at all without paying.
By the update hater
I have been using this app for 2 years and it’s so cool to watch my life
Ehh. Wish I can test it out 2/5
I downloaded this app because I heard the creator of the app talked about it on TED. However, I was under the impression it was free with an option to pay for more features... The free version does not let you make a video at all. It’s a little misleading. I do not want to pay if I do not know what kind of service it will be like. What if I do not like it?
Great idea, horrible UX 2/5
K.I.S.S. much? Listen, i have worked in software research and development for over 20 years in. every position from architect to engineer to product manager etc. so this is not a case of me being “non-technical“. However as much as I want to like this application I just cannot understand the workflow it makes zero sense to me I’m simply wanting to record 1+ seconds of video per day and have them mashed together so that I could then replay as hoc.
I “think“ this application allows that however I’ve yet to be able to understand how to achieve this. Assuming that is the intent of this application here’s a hint bring in a UX expert and create a next GEN version of this before someone (ahem) beat you to the punch. Seriously I can’t tell which is up and which is down in this app. I *tnink* I’ve recorded some clips during my trial but who knows. Unfortunately I think this application simply out fight itself and was focused on too many bells and whistle‘s and not actual workflow. To that end I seriously doubt I will be continuing my subscription but instead will simply mimic the idea and easily create my own application which will achieve what I am wanting once again to save a small clip each day and have them smashed together so that I could play back whenever I want.
Easy to use. Great and fun way to journal your life. I bought it in 2017 for $5 and just use the included features (no subscription). Still enjoying it and use it everyday over 2 years later.
Great App with One Fatal Flaw 3/5
By ACG ELECTRIC
I love 1SE. I think being able to keep a video diary of a moment each day in such a simple way from my phone is wonderful. The app is stable, easy to use, and well designed. I recently just tried to put music to 1SE though and noticed something strange. My music and videos started synced but did not stay synced for long. I am familiar with video editing (I do it as a hobby) so I made sure I was using 120 BPM music which should align with the 1 second video clips. I tried several songs and then even pulled up a stopwatch next to my phone that I watched concurrently with my 1SE clips. The clips over time do not progress in 1 second intervals.
I’ve experimented and have noticed that I can take a video that’s under a second and still use it in the app. This becomes a large problem when trying to add music to a 1SE video (especially one with a bunch of clips) because it can throw off the timing and the clip that’s the problem can be quite difficult to find.
It also seems to me like some of the clips may be longer than a second. My video is 56 clips, but the app and my stopwatch show it as 57 seconds after I remove the 1SE branding end slide. I’m not sure exactly what the problem clips are and will not know until I bring a rendered version of my 1SE project into Premier and look at the timeline, however, it’s a real bummer for me that the clips are not exactly 1 second.
In conclusion, this is a great app for people who do not want to put music to their projects or want to put music to there projects but don’t care if the music syncs with the video. For people who want to sync music to their clips, however, just know that your clips may be slightly shorter or longer that one second, and check your project with its music often.
Love it 5/5

I’ve been using the free version for over a year now and I look forward every day to selecting snippets. I do monthly montages of my son and share them on Facebook instead of sharing 100 videos a month. My fiends always comments how much they love watching them and so do i.
I don’t know if that is an available feature in the paid version or not but I wish there was a way to mashup several mashups into 1. For example I would take my individual 12 months and make them one montage for the whole year.
LOVE this app 5/5
I’ve been using this app since the first day my baby was born and she is now eight months old. I get to watch her grow up in a cute video!
Always crashing 1/5
Literally works 1/10 times. Incredibly difficult to use. They release a new update like every week, how about fixing any of the 19395037483039363 bugs your app has??
5 stars with iPad version 3/5
I paid for the pro version and I’m looking to give this more stars; I love the concept. When will you be adding an iPad component? That will push this to 5 stars. Good customer service response.
Love it, 1 idea 5/5
I love the app and use it everyday, but I would love to be able to submit more than one picture everyday. I know you can do it by paying for it but that’s a little unfair. But over all the app is excellent!
Life Changing 5/5
By Indie Andy
This app has changed my life. I love keeping up with this every day. Conceptually, no, this isn’t the only app that executes this. However I tried several of the apps and this one has the best user interface and design to make it work. I love this app and it’s absolutely free.
I use this app everyday! 5/5
I have been using this app everyday for nearly three years and couldn’t be happier with it! I have made videos capturing my oldest child’s 1st, 2nd, and now 3rd year. Now I’m working on capturing and saving my second child’s 2nd year (just finished up her 1st year video mash). I cannot think of a better way to save so many beautiful first memories. I have watched these short family movies over and over again and know that I will be singing the praises of this app for years to come. Downloading this 1SE is a no-brainer!
This app used to be great 1/5
This app used to be great. They changed it and claim to want your feedback but refuse to listen to it.
Bought the app at release..... 2/5
I bought it at five dollars and now there is this premium stuff while the app now goes free.... Feel like the developer betrayed me as the people that bought this for five...the ones that supported you are punished
Love the app 4/5
But I would love it even more if i could choose to play my own music to the videos!!
How did I raise children without this?!?! 5/5
By CD with girls
I always dreamed that I had some sort of editorial or media making capabilities but I don’t. I always dreamed that I had some sort of editorial or media making capabilities but I don’t. I always wished I was one of those moms who does amazing clip videos of their children growing up to music. And now I can!!!!
Awesome app but can’t add your own music 4/5
By Sunny Tuba
This app makes it easy to make slideshows and plays your Live Photos so that each picture plays (instead of showing a still frame). Wish it allowed you to import your own music but you can save the 1SE video then put it into iMovie to add your own songs.
The app is very easy to use. I want to make a video for this summer, and it took me 10 minutes to put all of my clips together from the past month.
CON: There is an option that says add your own music, but you can’t even do that. I don’t understand why that is an option to click on if it isn’t available. This would make the app 100% better. Music really makes videos more wholesome.
Latest update crop proportion issue 3/5
Great app overall. This is probably the only app that I am actually sticking with for more than a year now.
The latest update messed up the horizontal proportion though, so you’d always crop a bottom portion of the video without knowing how much it’ll crop out. This is consistent either you’re using the phone’s own camera or the one inside the app. I find this very buggy since I am very mindful of the composition when making clips.
Also the user interface used to be a lot more simple in the previous version, where you could launch the app and start taking your one second within one click, whereas now it’s annoying to have to click three buttons to start video recording. That precious one second to be recorded can flee in an instant — a bird, a moving train, a sound... Very critical to keep it simple so those moments are captured.
Cute little app ! 5/5
It is a pleasure to use this app as I will be keeping a souvenir of my year in photos and be able to send it as well to my family!
Great app, some minor problems 4/5
By Peanut russel
This app is really great and I’ve enjoyed using it! It’s easy, fun, and a great idea. My only complaint is that when I attempt to “mash and share” my video, the video never mashes and it can’t be exported off of the app. I’ve been wanting to save my video onto my camera roll on my phone, but the app won’t let me. I’ve done it before and it worked last year, so I know it’s possible! Please fix this!
Get this app! 5/5
This app has added so much joy to my life.

Love It! 5/5
I downloaded the 1secondeveryday app after seeing a friend use it for a while. I was interested in trying it out so I downloaded it and have been using it since the beginning of this year. I watched a TED talk on this app and what to use it for. I liked the idea of not only using the app for the happy moments, or big adventures but also using the app for the small or sad moments. When I go back and watch my month (and one day my year)in review, I remember all those moments that got me to where I am now. Also, I really love not being stuck behind my phone at a concert or on a trip. I can just capture a glimpse of a moment so I can remember it later. I really enjoy this app!
Great App!!! 5/5

I have been using your app for the past couple months, and I absolutely love it!! The ability to log a snippet of my day, everyday while being able to look back at it is amazing!! Although a lot of my friends have this app as well, I wish there was a feature where I can follow other users and see the stories that they create/share and post on their profile.

Vertical App 5/5
This app is so much better in vertical mode. There are many people complaining about the app going vertical, but they will either leave or get used to it. The app world is moving to vertical because of the ease of use overall. This is a great app and I’m happy about the latest innovations.
