I love the app, and I’ve come back to it for years now when I need to rebuild my running foundation after a break. I only wish there was an Apple Watch complication to go with it.
I’m 57 years young, and love this training app! Due to health problems I had to quit running for a while. Now I’m training again and this is a fantastic app for getting my stride back!
Not “free” anymore 2/5
I downloaded this app a couple of years ago and LOVED it!! Even after years of no physical activity, it made getting back into shape seem effortless! Fast forward a couple years and two babies later and I’m ready to get started again, but then I realize that the app I still have on my phone now requires a fee or subscription after the first few sessions!??!! Why ruin a good thing? I’ll be looking for an alternative.

I’ve been using these apps for years and absolutely love them. Have NEVER been a runner I started with the 5K runner app, then the 10K. When I started I couldn’t run the whole minute in the first session - I was so unfit! Since then I’ve run countless 5K fun runs, 10K, and even a half marathon. My dedication has fluctuated over the years, but whenever I come back to running I always use this app to get started. The app itself is great - no glitches or bugs. Never had a problem with it.

This has been a GREAT app for helping me to reach a goal of being able to run a 10K. Great intervals and gentle transitions to longer running times. My only complaint would be that it won’t ding to transition your phone is on mute (it does warn of this) or on do not disturb (I don't remember ever hearing/reading this one) since my phone is almost always on mute and I run before my DND turns off.
But great app overall!!

So is great except I think it seems pointless to have a walk and then cool down. Pit the cool down after the last run. I always end up running 3 minutes of the cool down.
I like having an exact layout of what I need to do to get better running results. I tried to do myself but nothing worked but with this I feel faster and getting more endurance. Thank you all!

Postpartum & Loving It! 5/5
I’m a novice runner who only has one 10K and a few 5ks under my belt. In the past I have also dealt with IT band inflammation which forced me to stop running at times. I was nervous to start running again postpartum, because the hormones in your body while nursing keep your ligaments soft...but this app is designed for you to start nice and easy, while slowly building up your leg strength!! Very easy to use, I’m starting week four and my legs feel great/are already a bit stronger.

I enjoy this app, but it would be great if you were able to extend/adjust the time of the run.
This app really works, and it makes you feel like a champ! I was NOT a runner before I used this app, and now, I really love running.
One thing - I wish it would break down your distance in the runs so that you could see how far you ran only, not just the total distance including the running and the warm up/cool down walking. Otherwise, it’s a great app!

The running programs (5k and 10K) have changed my life for the better. I’ve gone from completely sedentary to being able to run for an hour. I cannot say enough positive things about these apps!!!
I’m really out of shape and I miss running. I was constantly over doing it then losing my motivation because I’m just not used to being this out of shape. This is helping me sow down and ease my way back into running. I love that it had voice commands so I don’t have to constantly look at my phone. It’s great.

Used to love this app, but it hasn’t been updated and now doesn’t track distance and freezes my phone once the run is over. Great app before.

I have used several interval based apps for exercise. This is the best I have used. I gave it 4 stars because occasionally it crashes in the middle of a workout. I just realized there is a way to restart the routine and advance it forward, which is helpful.

I wanted to get back into running after many years of working, being a mom and generally not taking care of myself. I started with the couch to 5K. It really does take you gently to being a runner again. I started this app to keep it up and run farther. Started with week four and working back up. Nice pace

It works- it really does. I made it to the 5k and then fell off, but I’m back and this app makes it so easy to restart love it. Only down side is the automated cheering squad- a little too happy sounding. ;-)

When I downloaded this app, I definitely qualified for the “couch” part of “couch to 10K”. Following the program, even with a few inconsistencies between, I just reached by 5k runner badge and ran about 4 miles in the 35 minute run/10 minute walk. One thing I did wish that this program would include is a specific breakdown of distance for running vs. walking so you would know how far you went during just the running period so you could figure out an average pace. Besides that, I love this app and would highly recommend!

This app is wonderful! I’m not very active but I wanted to be for my kids. It helped me get up and out after Baby 1 and 2. My goal at that time was just getting up and moving. After Baby 3 it helped me reached my goal of running a 5K. Now after taking a very stressful job and having bunion surgery it’s helping yet again get me up and out every morning. Just registered for my second 5K!
Love the pacing and how it baby steps you through it all. It seems tedious, but it works!

The 10K prep app is the perfect continuation for me after the couch- 5K. I am using the fist workout ms to improve speed as well as continue to build a base.

No watch support 3/5
This app is a good app for people wanting to go from couch to 10K. It’s got what you need. However it would be five stars if
1. The program didn’t have to a. Be running in the foreground b. Have to have the screen on at all times (if you want voice coaching - and you do because you want to hear when to run and when to stop - not get a notification)
Not being able to turn the screen off has two significant disadvantages.
i. it drains your phone battery .... a lot!
ii. If your phone gets covered in sweat (like mine does) then even its screen lock feature does not stop your pocket from, say opening the camera app which stops the runner app from talking to you and you die of over exertion because it couldn’t tell you to stop!
2. If you are an Apple Watch owner this program doesn’t have a watch companion app, and it would be just so much better if it did.
It’s a good app, though. It will get you there.

Voice Commands are inconsistent 1/5
Even though my headphones are connect to my phone, I have inconsistent connection between app, headphones and even my Garmin. Starts off, everything is working and then randomly not getting notifications. Sometimes I get notifications through my watch and sometimes I don’t. If it doesn’t work, why did I pay for it?

This is a great app if you want to start running. It’s like interval training and you can start from where your exercise level is. Great way to get out and Run!! Highly recommended
Good App for beginners 5/5
I’m a beginner runner and have used this app off and on for the past year or so. The running segments are small enough to feel confident that you can complete the session and if you get lazy and need to reset yourself you can easily start over at any session you’ve already completed.
