Can't Even OPEN Books 1/5
This defies the whole purpose of the app. All I get is the same message "Connection Error Detected. Digital Editions could not connect to the fulfillment server. Please make sure you are connected to the Internet" while I have excellent connection to Wifi. No support offered (unless you count forums with the same unresolved issue). Very frustrating. They should just delete this app.

Impossible to use this app. If you’re lucky enough to get anything to download, it takes about thirty tries. I said IF. I’ve had nothing but trouble, and have been trying all morning to load another book. Why hasn’t app support fixed this problem? I tried to contact them today and it just send you to “adobe digital forums” BUT THAT WON’T OPEN EITHER!!!!! So you get NO HELP AT ALL!!!!! Nothing downloads! No help! They don’t give a crap about customers!

You know how in Monsters Inc., they harvest human screams to power their cities? I’m starting to believe that Adobe needs human expletives to power their programs. It’s the only explanation for a company to make their software so user-unfriendly and intentionally terrible!
I have never been more frustrated by an app in my life. This program is so horrible that it actually dissuades me from buying books that are supported by it.

Awful and irritating 1/5
Lags as I flip through pages on iPad. This completely defeats the purpose of having a reading app. Highlighting text is practically impossible.
It only lets me open the book when I first download it and that’s it. I wish the site I was using would use some other app since this one is unreliable at best.
Bad and getting worse 1/5
I can't understand how this app is so bad. I'm at the point where I can't even confidently turn the page of my text book because I don't know a) if it will turn at all, b) freeze the entire program, or c) take me back several pages for no reason. It's past frustrating now.

I downloaded adobe digital editions on iOS to read a book I bought online - but I can’t even log in , i.e. authorize the app to read the books I bought. The field to fill in the username and password is totally unresponsive - even after several reset.

I wish I could just use my textbook on the kindle app, or iBooks, or any other e-reader beside this one. Laggy, glitchy, slow, crashes, and gives me sporadic diarrhea. 1 out of 5 stars.

When checking out some books on archive.org most pages are blank or load intermittently. This app needs some help.

I downloaded this app because I ordered a book and this is the platform it’s on. I was only able to read the book in part and the app has never opened again. It froze and won’t work anymore. I’ve refreshed, closed it out and even rebooted and nothing. I don’t recommend this app for anything.

Bought an ebook that required me to use this app. Used it for a few days and now I cannot open the book. I have restarted my phone and refreshed the app...nothing works. Disappointed and will be calling the company for a hard copy instead since this is not reliable.

You can’t even authorize your device, it’s not even attempting to connect to the serve. When was then last time you people even attempted to fix the bugs and update this app. It’s total crap. I can’t even look at my books for school thanks to this app acting the way it does. Good riddance
Terrible App 1/5
After bookmarking my page and quitting the app, I returned later to find I could no longer open the ebook I had been reading. It was still showing in the library, but it wouldn’t open. I eventually deleted the app and reinstalled it, but then it would not authorize my device any longer. It seemed to hang up on the authorization process. I don’t recommend this app at all if you have an alternative.

The app has been working alright until today. I can’t get a book so I can read it. It’ll let me select it but other than that I can’t read the book. Fix please!
Used for a couple of days to read a borrowed ebook. Halfway through it hangs. At least I didn’t lose money. Adobe is a crap shoot.

Thank you Adobe for forcing us to use this app for my college E-books. And thank you further for making this program buggy and at the moment unusable. Thank you for locking me out of my texts books during exam week. Thank you for protecting us from ourselves and not integrating our drm books into acrobat or any other program that actually works.

There needs to be the option for zero stars for apps like this. My wife somehow got this loaded on her phone, possibly needed for some book she wanted. He usually only gets audiobooks so not sure why this was needed. Somehow it got started and accounted for 92% of her battery usage for one day, a day that she really didn’t use her phone much. iPhone 6s+ went from fully charged to dead in less than 6 hours. Like Flash, another power hog from Adobe.

I got this app because it was the only format offered for an ebook I wanted to read. The user experience is awful - avoid using it at all costs if possible.
For starters, you cannot change the size of the font on the page. You have to zoom in on the page, with the effect that you then have to scroll the page in order to read. Horrific user experience.
Next, you cannot use the note feature on iPhone (6) because it’s so hard to select an individual word.
Finally, it’s just buggy. Even on my Mac it lags, freezes, and just doesn’t work smoothly.
I wish they had spent as much time designing the user experience as they had building the copyright protection interface.
Don’t use unless absolutely forced to.

Appears to be a digital content reader like an e-book reader or iBooks, but without the mechanism in place to allow us to load material into it, it's pretty worthless.

Original review: The app crashes literally every 30 seconds and doesn’t display the covers of my books (it just shows greyed-out squares). It also doesn’t sort the books in the same order across devices when I try to sort by anything other than title or author, and there is no option to manually sort the books into folders to keep it easier to find things with a big library. This app needs some major updates, because it is unusable in its current form.
UPDATE: This app has cost me thousands of dollars in lost books. I’m furious. I have hundreds of PDF ebooks and files that I OWN (NOT RENTED) on this app, but about a month after I upload any file, the app tells me it has “expired” and can no longer be read, and that I’ll need to purchase it again. This has caused major problems with my ability to do work, as there are now hundreds of files I can no longer access and don’t have the the ability to download again. I would never have downloaded anything to this app if I had known I would have these problems. There are literally 15+ gigabytes of books and other files on this app that I am locked out of EVEN THOUGH I OWN THEM. The app also spontaneously deletes books sometimes, refuses to let you delete books other times, and is all-in-all one of the WORST apps ever developed. As a loyal Adobe customer, I am deeply disappointed. I want those thousands of dollars back if they’re not going to fix the app and restore my access to my books.

The app doesn’t work. It’s crippled by its inability to do anything successfully, such as displaying a book. Adobe should stick to photoshop and acrobat.

I tried it only for a couple of days and so far I can say the transitions are not smooth. I only have one book but every time a open it it pops up a new copy of it in my bookshelf, although it’s the same book. It has crashed 4 or 5 times already. I didn’t want to buy the paper version of the book so I didn’t have to carry with it but if this app is the only alternative they forcing me to go to the paper version. Bad, really bad app!!

I was urged to download this app so that I could download and sign in to read a book I checked out from a digital library. As far as I can see, this is just a how-to booklet. I still can’t download or sign in to anything. And I can’t find anywhere I can sign in. This whole system is screwed up. And it seems like nobody cares to give good instructions.
Too glitchy. Constantly says I’m not connected to the internet. Won’t download books. Often does not respond after menu or dialogue buttons are pressed. Totally unusable app.

Adobe is also connected with my local library and its eBook and audio book download service (OverDrive). My nightmarish entanglement with Digital Editions came from trying to download an ePub PDF supplied with an audiobook checked out at my library. After establishing new IDs and log ins, adding another library app (Libby), I am still no closer to my PDF. Audible has an easy way to do this. Trying to accomplish the same download using Digital Editions is similar to using DOS and Basic from 1990. And still no ePub PDF!
Says book is downloaded but doesn’t show in library. I’m logged in to freading, Adobe Digital Editions, and tulsa county library. Deleted apps reloaded etc. Tulsa library tech support doesn’t know how fix it. Says hers won’t work either. Unfortunately I can’t rate zero stars.
This is a terrible app on all devices. I would not use it except I have to for textbooks. The scrolling is unbearable. Everything about it is frustrating and time consuming. It makes me want to pull my hair out. They need to do better or just delete it all together.
Deleted app and used kindle format 1/5
I gave up and went back to kindle format. Couldn’t transfer the book to my iPHone, failing with “not connected to internet” or something like that. Returned ePub version of the book, borrowed the kindle version, and two seconds later had it in my phone. Deleted the adobe app.
Yet another foolish piece of software in the Adobe arsenal. You’ve made accessing ebooks none the less easier. What exactly is the point of this app? Can you guys just stick to photoshop, illustrator, and acrobat in your exclusive membership cloud.

For some reason every other page is missing. You have to Zoom to see the content and if you swipe left or right sometimes contents will disappear.

On an iPhone the font is not legible. Just make it bigger and this will be a useful app.

Unable to get working on iOS.
Less than a star. Not recommended at all. I can’t see some pages, also the lag, is horrible. Tried to contact customer service, chat or something...nothing. Horrible app, worst service. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!
Will not download from Books-A-Million 1/5
Totally unusable. "Can not contact server" error when attempting to download yet it validates my sign-in. Books-A-Million requires this reader yet I now see all of the horrible reviews. Will try to get refund of my book purchase and let them know why. If I could rate Adobe Digital Editions with Zero Stars, I would. They don't even deserve one star.

Most Bay Area technology vendors design their products to wow the user. They make it easy for the consumer to sign up and get started in mere seconds and then have a pleasurable experience as you use the product.
Not these guys. Not at all.
It looks like the User’s experience is the last thing on Adobe’s mind.
They just don’t care if you like it or not. They still design their products as if it were the 1990s.
Rest assured you will have a frustrating and infuriating experience with this app that will turn you off from using any Adobe product at all.

The app will not allow you to delete a book. Will not remember a book mark. THERE IS NO SUPPORT FROM ADOBE!!!!!!!
All it will do is get you to a user forum and then there is no answer. Adobe says this is a 3rd Party App.... Bull! It has an an Adobe logo and is copyrighted by Adobe Systems.
Would really like to get rid of this app but there are references I need to keep, unfortunately, I am stuck with expired material.
Makes me wonder if I should I fact renew my Acrobat subscription this year.

Would love to review the app, but I can’t even get started. I cannot get to the Adobe ID and password fields to enter the data and hit the Authorize button either vertically or horizontally. Worthless.
