  • Accessible creativity 5/5

    By Maghernan
The demands of work during COVID haven’t left much room for creativity. As an abstract painter in the traditional sense setup and cleanup can be additional obstacles. Adobe Fresco has made creativity for me so much more accessible. That I’m learning a new skill and able to share it digitally in an instant makes it even more appealing. I also love that what I produce in the app can so closely resemble my painted work. Not loving that the use of the best brushes require a $10 a month subscription. It doesn’t seem worth more than $30/year for a brush selection. I’d also like to 1) categorize brushes according to my specific uses and 2) create a library of pre-created lines and shapes for easy reuse. Other than that app is great.

i prefer the old adobe illustrator draw. This newer app is very complex compared to the old one and it makes everything practically impossible. too many buttons all over. good if ur really into it and experienced otherwise its hard
  • Adobe knocks it out of the park 5/5

Just a fantastic drawing and painting app. Features keep rolling in, sets itself apart from the competition in its own way (each app has its own intangible qualities for different people and this one stands up as one of the top dogs). Here’s hoping iPad versions of photoshop and illustrator become as fully-baked and essential as Fresco is. I’d also recommend Adobe’s apps Capture, Aero and Premiere Rush - the real stars of Adobe’s iOS efforts.
  • Amazing app 5/5

    By usernames are bad
I am an Adobe employee with no artistic background (not in a creative field) and I have been amazed at what I can create with Fresco after just a couple of months playing around with it in my free time. I love the brushes and the feel that I am working with paint, while having access to the all-important Undo and Erase functions! (critical for newbies like me who make tons of mistakes). It is much more accessible than most other Adobe products, which I find intimidating (Acrobat excepted). Love it!1

I can’t even file a bug report with it. It thinks I have no email set up on my iPad. Fresco is having sync issues with Creative Cloud and not updating the files to the latest version.

Keeps saying I need to free up storage. I did that. All of my storage is free. In fact my phone has never been this clean. But it keeps saying I need more storage space. I deleted the app and reinstalled it if it changes I will change my review

  • I love this 5/5

I have worked a lot with photos as art the last 15 years but this particular product has gotten my artful creative juices flowing again so I will be working on getting familiar with this as I have always hated mice as ‘uncontrollable.’ BUT the Apple Pencil and an iPad Pro make this now workable digitally. Why? Because combining great software with the new high-tec devices is putting ease-of-use at a whole new level. I have a couple of other apps I can easily ‘prep’ my photos or even do some pre-processing then zip it into Fresco or Photoshop. I abandoned Windows long ago as I had both a laptop and a Surface and am glad to be rid of same. I didn’t like a Mac, either, so the whole idea of being ‘tied to a desk’ or table was repugnant but few choices to transit to until recently. NOW we need Apple to give us artsy types who like hands-on a 14.7” iPad Pro and we can take this to a new level. I choose this over Procreate though Procreate has some advantages for simplicity. I wish Fresco was a bit easier to transfer other file types used.
  • Very bad 1/5

I found this app pretty annoying because I’m not smart enough to deal with all this technology (by technology I mean trying to sign in) so actually using the app must be harder * it was saying that there was an error but I actually have an account

  • Great with a huge BUT WHERE ARE THE EXPORTS 3/5

    By fromadesigner
I love Adobe products and have relied on this company for all of my professional career. The fact that they would take the time to flesh out a “Vector Based” platform and not include Vector File Format Exports is beyond me. You only have the option to export as rasterized files or send to Illustrator ** HUGE CAVEAT ** on desktop. What is the point of spending all of your time with the limited selection of “Vector Brushes” if you can’t finish the file in the same platform? The reason I am giving this 3 Stars is because it does have potential to be fantastic. This is ONLY if Adobe adds in vector file export options. Ideally, they would add in SVG, EPS, and Ai file export options with full functionality. For artists who are reliant on a tablet, mainly iPad Pro, and cannot afford to buy a new laptop this will not work for them if they are trying to create package ready VECTOR files for clients. Which if I understand the brand identity for Adobe Fresco, was the main purpose. If this matters to anyone, I am 28 and this is the first review I have ever posted on any platform. I am an understanding person who loves a good beta testing platform, but we are out of beta and I am tired of spending 10x the effort trying to get my hard work of Fresco vector files into an actual vector format.

This app is perfect for drawing, what makes this app stand out is the bucket paint button. Instant color over it. I love this feature and wish that other drawings apps had this. The only problem I have with this is the fact that just a little bit of full storage and you can’t even draw anymore. The other app they have is better yet lacks in one thing. The bucket tool. Storage no problem. You can keep on drawing which is PERFECT. Yet that’s what this app is lacking. Storage problems. Either way good app would recommend.

I’ve been using this app for about a month or so now to create a detailed map for my new dungeons and dragons world. I started using Adobe Sketch and it was so limited, but the Fresco app popped up through the Sketch and I transferred my map right over. The Fresco is so amazing because it has every tools I’m looking for. I am able to draw anything that I am capable to do myself. The lasso is super handy, as well as using the filling option, and being able to copy and paste sections and layers. The app is rather easy to use and figure out, and the interactive walkthrough answers any questions. Lately, I’ve been noticing my files taking longer to load in and even load marks or movements while working on it. I still have 94% data left on the cloud so I know it shouldn’t be a space issue. I have a lot of small details on the map, but that should cause it to run slow.

This app is perfect for others like me who lives with ADHD it’s immediate responsive and the look and feel of the images that I’m able to create feels like my original authentic artwork however have to make a few pieces.I have been noticing a glitch in the saving process and when I retire for the evening and return to my app to continue my art the pieces have only been saved to a certain point and I’m losing hours a production
  • Ummm I don't know 3/5

    By uûuhhuhugwyft
So I've been using this app for 2 days now and its really complex to use
  • My preference over ProCreate, surprisingly 5/5

    By Willitz
I am really surprised by this, but the more I use this, the more I realize it gives me a better and more accurate ‘feel’ while sketching and painting than ProCreate does. I think the brushes have a bit less lag on my IPad (2020 non-pro version) than I get with ProCreate using the comparable ones. Also the live brushes are just astounding; they are fun to use even if you don’t know a thing about watercolor, oils, or even making art in general. Anyhow, in this app I can sketch with what feels to me to be a more lifelike level of control than I get with ProCreate and that seems to make all the difference to me using this vs a physical sketchbook. The only downside I really can speak of is the lack of a floating reference window like ProCreate has, but I’ve been using VizRef in a side window instead. There is no reason you shouldn’t check this app out. Even if you are super comfortable with ProCreate, this is like trying out a new set of pens and paper to see what works best for you in the long run, and it works great for me.
  • Highly Recommend 5/5

    By Five_Stars_Or_Not
I’ve been trying to get into digital art for a while, and Adobe Fresco opened those doors for me. The brushes provided are stunningly realistic, I’m not exaggerating. Almost a flawless transition rom analog to digital art, especially with the improved Apple Pencil support. Only thing that bugs me is the “exit” button that I confuse for “undo” all the time, which causes me to save my work accidentally with an error. Is there a way to restore old versions? The aforementioned is probably just me. Everything else is superb.
  • cool toy, not a fully featured drawing app 1/5

    By kibby ... 2!!
i really want to like fresco, but it's just not gonna happen until the app gets some really, really basic drawing app features like a magic wand tool. i think it was a clown move on adobes part to ship the app without a magic wand tool, let alone not implement one for the f o u r years this app has been out. sure, there are some impressive doodads in there, like the ability to trim vector strokes and sending stuff straight to illustrator, but that doesn't excuse the recurring cost or the lack of basic and core features. nor does it feel good to have to shell out money continuously for an app where the developers seem completely deaf to the needs of the userbase, who have been asking for features for years now. it's cool that the brush engine is advanced or whatever, but where's the android version? cmyk? gradients? custom brushes (raster OR vector)? and again, the magic wand tool? like come on yall it's been FOUR years let's stop tweaking the paintjob and instead fix the crumbling engine of this app. it feels like fresco is trying to straddle the gap between the photoshop and illustrator apps, and in so doing it's worse than either. it has the least reason to exist out of all adobe's current apps, even though in my perception, fresco seems to be getting the most frequent updates and the most of adobe's attention and time of all three apps. for its cost adobe needs to do a better job.
  • Decent. 4/5

    By KellyK376
For a free app, it’s decent. I wish it had snap-to-grid options, though. I also wish it had a grid. As it is, I’ve been creating one myself. And since it saves the pixel layers as png, they’re not solid lines, but approximations and shades of grey. What I’m saying is a grid would be nice. And toggling on/off snap functions. And I heard there were basic shapes coming, but maybe that was a hallucination on my part.

I’ve done a few drawings on this app and it works for me. I’m definitely an amateur when it comes to digital art, but Adobe Fresco made it fairly easy to learn. Best of all, it’s free and doesn’t pressure you into paying the subscription.

They say they combined illustrator and sketch into one but the live brushes on this app look so fake. You also can’t really blend that much or else it will freeze the app. Terrible so called replacement for their photoshop sketch app.

  • Hard to navigate UI 3/5

    By Vampires and toenails
Since Adobe Sketch is being shut down soon, I decided to try out Adobe Fresco and was very overwhelmed by the UI. With Adobe Sketch the simple UI was one of the things I liked about it. I think I would be willing to give Adobe Fresco another chance if the UI was simplified.
  • Great, but... 4/5

    By NY2TX
I really liked this app and I still like it because it can’t use it. You can use it for painting, tracing, illustrating, collages, and stylized drawing as well as realistic. The only thing I wish they had was a copy tool. Now I’ve only started using Adobe Fresco probably about six months ago, so I don’t know if this is somewhere here but I’ve searched everywhere so it’s not where I float. When I mean by copy to I mean if you could select a surface of the painting or drawing that you’re doing and be able to copy it and you can flip it and turn around and color or do whatever to it. I believe this would be helpful because especially when you’re drawing cartoons, which is in my field. For example, if I were going to draw the face of my character and it’s really hard to draw eyes that are the same size so when I want to make one I would want to be able to copy that I that I think is a good one and flip it and use it on the other side of the face if you know what I mean. And when you were to copy the surface I thought I wish it was like a paintbrush which could copy every pixel perfectly like if you were copying circle or if shape that’s not a square it would be hard to use like a square shape to copy it or select it or select it. But overall I think if you want a free app to illustrate draw and paint digitally you should download this app. All it takes is a little patience to learn the ropes and after you learn the basics it’s pretty easy they even have tutorials and an online setting where you can share your ideas and concepts.
  • Why drop what was working in sketch? 3/5

    By Alvin Zamudio
Come on, guys! Lots of great features, but honestly... The perspective grid was so innovative and the ability to double tap a layer to hide or make it visible was a timesaver, especially when cartooning or tracing. Why did you need to take that away? And also, is it so hard to allow pasting an image? TYou expect us all to switch but the controls aren’t even similar now. Adobe has always struggled with consistency between applications. Just fixing that alone would make a world difference. I miss sketch.
  • Amazing for young artists 5/5

    By らまや作用
I got this app a few years ago when I was still new to adobe and using this is a great intro to adobe products! Lots of brushes even in the free version and if you get the full version it’s even better as you get more fonts, brushes and more! The only thing I wish was different was the shape maker...because this is adobe I get it as the app expects you to use the mask feature but it is frustrating as other drawing apps gives you options for shapes, ellipses and more. Overall amazing app and I totally suggest it as your art will come out in a much better quality!
  • Great but one problem 4/5

    By katelynjobro
Okay, don’t get me wrong I love this app. It’s a great app for drawing if you don’t want to have to spend a bunch of money on an app. And I don’t know if this is just a me problem, but every time I try to get on the app, it tells me I don’t have enough space. When it tells me this, I try and go delete some stuff off of my phone, but a lot of the time it doesn’t work. And I’m left with having only things I can’t get rid of on my phone.
