Could be amazing... 1/5
Could be amazing but parental control to remove videos does not work. Child still able to view videos even though I have setting set to block.
Parent restrictions for videos do not work 1/5
Any way to set restrictions on videos or disable the app through the parent dashboards does not work at all.
No games on iOS 1/5
Thought there would be games for kids but only books and shows on apple devices.
Disappointed about options for iOS 1/5
I’m forced to purchase a fire tablet I don’t need because we have a family shared iPad according to parental dashboard.... not purchasing new device or renewing freetime going forward until iOS option equal to the rest.
Impossible to try and unsubscribe. 1/5

Simple video block not available 1/5
The parent dashboard is ridiculous. It needs reasonable improvements. You can not even block inappropriate content after you adjust the so called 'smart' setups.
Books can’t be downloaded, can only use if on Internet 1/5
By Busy teacher in KY
I’m very disappointed. I was really hoping for an app that we could use to download books my granddaughter could have on the plane on our way to France and to read to her while we are there, so that we wouldn’t need to bring dozens of books with us, taking up space and weight. This is not the case. If I turn off my cellular and WiFi access, I cannot reread any books I thought I had downloaded. And I have just read that this app is useless and will not work outside of the United States. This on top of the fact that there does not seem to be a good way to filter through junk books, so that she only selects quality literature has this retired teacher feeling that this is not an app that is useful for our family. I do not want to have to prevent her from selecting the prominent junk books, to get to the actual quality literature. I’m very disappointed!
Very limited catalog in Germany 1/5
There should be a notice prior to installation
It’s Great for Books 4/5
I just joined this app for the trial and browsed titles to see what was available. I love the selection of books on here! We have a small house and no room for books although I love reading my kids new books everyday. This app allows me to do that without adding clutter to our home. As for shows, this app has some good show titles and a lot of random shows my kids aren’t interested in. Very similar to what’s free on Amazon Prime for kids. I think the price is great for the reading options alone. I haven’t gone through the games yet so I will update my review once I see my kids play with it and see how engaged they stay.
Would love to be able to make font larger
It’s good except 4/5
The books don’t fit to the screen so on a lot of them you can’t see the words. And there is no option on screen for the kids to zoom or make it bigger:(
Ok not great 2/5
By Gowith D'flo
It is the only FaceTime. In reality it is often a slow and clunky interface that can be hard to figure out. Would like to see sorting by age and/or grade. Would like to see details about the apps, games, and books to help decision to download. “Remove” downloads does not always work.
Should be linked to Prime account 5/5
My 5 yr old loves the app. If you’re a Prime member, the monthly fee should be less than $9.99.
Haven't tried it 5/5

Ok I know what your thinking if you haven't see the comersiole then you might want to watch it befor you read this....... it looks very uneek and I'm about to try it out and I think you should too.
Good tools but needs more to be great 3/5
Don’t get me wrong, I really like Freetime Unlimited. It is a really good tool for monitoring and managing my daughter’s time on her Kindle. I’m just so frustrated by shortcomings that I think could easily be fixed. For example, you can set time limits, but it only for weekdays and weekends, not individual days. So my daughter gets frustrated that I can’t easily extend the turn off time on Friday night when she has a bit more flexibility, and I need to remember to adjust Sunday night so she doesn’t stay up late listening to Audible on a school night compared to Saturday nights.
I love that we get access to a lot of free content, I just wish as a parent it was easier in the dashboard to search and add that content.
I also wish it was easier to give this feedback directly to Amazon vs a review in the App Store. With a little improvement on the parent dashboard and tools to better manage time limit and content, this would be a 5 star tool I would gladly pay for.
No offline access to books on iOS 1/5
No offline access to books on iOS app. It also doesn’t have kids apps. Half baked product.
Love it!!! Worth every penny 5/5
My favorite feature is the parent dashboard. I can pause my Childrens tablet from anywhere as well as adjust the settings. I love how you can add content based on their age and videos etc are chosen from reliable websites like PBS kids etc. I also love how I have the option of enabling or disabling web searches as well as you tube. Which I love because web searches and you tube are a big no unless it’s for school related projects and I am searching with them. With the parent dash board you can see how much time your child is spending on apps, reading, websites etc. I have the education feature turned on so my children do not hav access to any games or videos until they have reached the allotted time I set for reading. For example they have to 30 for minutes first. Once they have reach 30 min. of reading then all the fun stuff gets unlocked!
More granular controls please 3/5
I love where FreeTime is going as an app! Excellent to have so much content for so little cost. And I’m happy with the curation for the age groups.
What I’d like changed is more detailed parental controls.
For example now I have to set start and end time for my child for all use. But I want to be able to set start and end times for the different apps or categories of apps. For example. I would like my child to be able to read anytime from 6am to 9:30pm but I only want time on games to be used from 4pm to 7pm.
My child uses FreeTime on an Amazon Fire and I monitor their use using the iOS FreeTime app. I can add apps to my child’s profile in FreeTime. I added the Libby app for checking books out of the library. I also added Netflix. Currently both of those added apps are in the same category within FreeTime and the time I allow their category effects both apps equally. But I would like the time for reading library books to be unlimited but for Netflix I’d like it to be part of the half an hour of entertainment time.
My suggestion would be that when apps are installed they have a default category. But parents can change that category manually.
0 stars 1/5
This app will not let you unsubscribe ever. It’ll just keep stealing your money even when you’re done with it.
The app must be available in Puerto Rico too, when I intended to configure the app a message indicates “is only in United States of America”
It’s not the same 2/5
We have a kindle Fire with Amazon Free time, and I wanted to have it on my Ipad as well. I downloaded this and it doesn’t have any of my son’s games available. He can only watch shows and read the books and while it’s great that they have those, he really enjoys the games so it was a bit disappointing.
Please add paw patrol 4/5
This would be five stars if it had paw patrol. My boys love it (3 and 5). I love the content, especially blippi. I wish there was a way to hide some of the content though.

Need more improvements! 3/5
We have used the Epic app more more that five years and recently decided to try the Freetime app. to explore new books for our 9 and 4 years old daughters. Our fourth grade need to read everyday to complete her daily reading log for her school and need to record # of pages and time she read. In the Epic app I do not any problem with this; however, in the Freetime my daughters cannot use any of its books because it doesn’t show reading levels, book activity or numbers of pages for any of its books. I really like the app because it has a nice variety of books sadly my oldest daughters can’t use for school. It would nice if they also add a summary when pressing the book you want to read and also add a quiz as an option at the end of each book. I really hope they makes updates for this app. I will try it for a year and hope for the best!

For free time
Love this app 5/5
This app is ver educational
None of the parental controls appear to work using iOS or Android devices. Why would you put the time restrictions and educational goals into the app if they are ignored? I'm off now to find how to cancel and make sure that I won't end up with a $9.99 charge next month like others report.
It needs your google account and I hate it so much
Tiny words and unable to zoom in 2/5
Great story section, but the words are so tiny and the app does not allow you to zoom in. Some books the words were on top of each other so we couldn’t even read the book at all.
👏🏻🙌🏻 boring so boring 1/5
By Saya dignal mabekagan
It’s soo boring you don’t have 10 years old movies idont like it sorry it’s for babies
Some of the books’ words overlap, so we were unable to read them. And a suggestion, please allow user to be able to zoom in. Some books, the words are too small to see.
By Alaskan pipeline1
I can’t figure out how to download the shows. We want to use this for a road trip and I cannot figure out how to download anything. Is that not a function that’s available?
What a rip-off! 1/5
You charge that kind of money for a Prime membership and then require another $10+ a month for this app? That’s crap!
Doesn’t work as advertised 2/5
Time limits do not work. Seems pointless to pay for this app when my kid can watch tv shows that I’m already paying for with prime. The point was to be able to block the television programs until the reading portion was done. Not worth the $10 a month.
The font needs to be adjustable 3/5
It’s hard for my 5 and 7 year old to read some books because the font is too small. They lose their place easily because they’re used to bigger lettering in books that they read in school, and at home.
By Inside delta force
The moment I got the app it was bad no search I could not find one book I whanted
Can’t enlarge books! 1/5
While reading FreeTime books with my daughter, I realized that you cannot enlarge the books to fill the screen. This makes the writing for many books VERY small—too small to read in many cases. I can’t be that upset; this is why they have free trials! Until I can be assured that the words are big enough to read (along), I won’t be renewing my subscription.
Good, but could be better 3/5
By Mandy OSU
I wish I could tailor my kids’ FreeTime even more than what the app allows. I would like to limit certain apps. While I understand that Amazon believes they are educational, and they are, my kids do not need to be on video apps during educational time. I would like to be able to set limits that way they have to spend so much time on apps I choose before being able to use other educational apps. We are homeschoolers and use our Fires for homeschooling. So more detailed parental controls would be appreciated.
Not worth it for Sesame Street 1/5
By M ann M
I got this app because I thought my son would be able to watch Sesame Street on it. Very disappointed not much offered. Better to go with YouTube kids or Sesame Street app. Also I’m trying to cancel it and it’s almost impossible. I’ve emailed multiple times and haven’t gotten any tech-support.
Waste of mone 1/5
Waste of money
No games? 2/5
Where are the games? On the fire tablet there are lots of games. I can't find any on the iOS version.
Unable to increase font 1/5
The print is entirely too small. Each book my child, who has no trouble reading and other book, has to squint just to see the words and I do as well.
Audible books for toddlers? 3/5
My daughter is 4 and cannot read, however she loves the selection of books on the app! Is there an audible version so she can enjoy the books?? I selected her age, so you would think audible books would be available? If not, will be deleting app after free trial...
Kids don’t use it and no easy way to cancel 1/5
It’s all in the title.
Difficult to find and access audible books and music 2/5
I don't understand why it's so hard to find audiobooks that are available on Freetime or access Amazon Music playlists. I think it would be a much better app if it included all categories of available content in a more searchable format.
The best part is that it’s free😊SO FAR
Can’t download anything 1/5
Got the Unlimited service so kids could have entertainment while traveling. We don’t have WiFi half the time so it’s worthless. Even when we get WiFi abroad it’s not enough bandwidth to share among multiple devices. I will be cancelling for sure. Back to Netflix. My fault for not seeing the fine print if there was any.
No to bad 3/5
I rated this a 3star because I like the large amount of choices to pick from. Unfortunately I have a child that is just learning to read and there are no books that will read to her. Also the print is very small. Maybe some improvements could be in the future.
This does nothing to protect your Child 1/5
This is a joke when it comes to protecting your Child. No real filter on content. Using this mean Amazon is going to raise your child.
