I have saw three doctors on this app and everyone has been helpful and they really care about making you well! With COVID 19 this app saved me one day from having to go to my normal doctor which was awesome! Thank you to all the amazing doctors on this app!
Dr. Mia Finkelston was very good and attentive to my needs. She went above and beyond with great customer service and professionalism. I was able to understand what she was talking about. This was my first time using the Virtual app service. I will be back. Thank you

The app had me fill out 10 min then said no one was available. If then prompted me to start the intake info again. After the 3 times in a row of the same I have decided to apply the baseball rule. 30 minutes on Amwell has made my back much worse.

I gave 2 stars because it’s more convenient than going to the doctor, but they never send your prescriptions in. First off, they can’t prescribe any pain management drugs, so if you’re in pain, don’t bother. Second, they take days to send in your prescriptions. Lastly, if you try to call them to hurry up and do their job by sending in your prescriptions, you’re looking at a 30 minute hold time after being transferred 3 times. I ended up having to go to urgent care and eating the inflated bill.

I waited my turn for 40 minutes as the next patient, then it changed doctors and waited about another 15. Well when I finally spoke to him he was rushing to get me off the phone. Waited an hour for him to kick me off the phone in 90 seconds. Sent me penicillin and said go to the ER if you have pain. The whole reason I tried this was because I’m scared of getting covid19 at the ER since I have a lung disease.
EDIT: I called and was told I would not be charged for my visit because how fast it was and being rushed off, well 5 days later I got charged. I will update again and let you know what they say. I will also be posting this to everywhere I can leave a review about Amwell
Every Appointment Made - Cancelled 1/5
Update: I emailed the address the developer gave me. I got an auto response case number right away. It’s been two days & no other responses.
I don’t know how this has five stars. I’ve had two psychiatry appointments cancelled in a row and haven’t even been able to see a doctor. The appointments are made weeks ahead and now I feel like I should just try to triple book and hope at least one doesn’t cancel on me.

This app is great if you’re the primary subscriber. But if your college aged child needs to use it they’re paying full price. So it’s useless for your dependent.

Big gaps in app design that create confusing experience 2/5
Cool idea and when you can connect with a provider on the first try, it works well. However, UX and PMs who built this app need to think through the other use cases, like what the experience is for someone who can’t connect, or hears from a doctor but has no way to follow up after. Here are my suggestions: 1) There’s a spinning “wait” wheel that goes on forever and then stops searching due to user inactivity. Well I’m not inactive- I’ve been staring at your wheel of death for 5 minutes. Just tell me that no providers are available instead of wasting my time. 2)And when I do connect with a doctor and she forgets to send the prescription to my pharmacy, there’s no way for me to contact her to ask her to send it again. Add a follow-up functionality.

My Dr. was very nice and professional. Because of the photos I took he was able to diagnose my pink eye in 5 minutes. He was quick and to the point, I really liked him. This service is awesome for issues like Pink Eye, because it made it possible for me to be seen by a Physician, without having to risk the Dr’s. Office during the Coronavirus outbreak. I would recommend this service for a number of conditions that are fairly minor, or even to do a coronavirus screening. However, if I was having any serious symptoms I would just go to the ER, less serious but bad enough-Instacare. Pink Eye is very contagious, and like coronavirus, it isn’t something I want to spread. I hope this type of service grows in order to eliminate the need for going to the Dr’s office, especially when you you aren’t very contagious. Pink Eye has made me feel self conscious, it hurts, and I don’t want to keep my eyes open. I think this is a great way to get screened for covid-19 also, cutting down the unnecessary spread so we can all be more safe.

I had made an appointment with a doctor and it said I was the next person in line and the doctor would be with me shortly.... I waited for 50 minutes until I finally canceled the appointment to only find out that the doctor had taken himself offline. I was never notified that the doctor had went offline and wasn’t transferred to someone who was actually helping patients. This was extremely disappointed an upsetting because before this I’ve never had a bad experience on this app. At the least you would think I would have gotten a notification saying that the doctor had made himself unavailable but no nothing!

My doctor’s office set up a virtual Appt. I downloaded the app on my phone. Apparently I was only supposed to use the link in the email and not download the app. When I tried to login thru the app, it said my email was already being used (I never used the app or website before). I tried to login thru the email link and it kept sending me into the app which I couldn’t login to. I tried to uninstall the app and use the email link but it kept trying to open the uninstalled app instead of just letting me open in the webpage.
When I was finally able to get in through the app the video kept trying to connect but just timed out. Later my doctor said she could see me in the waiting room but I couldn’t see or hear her.
She ended up just calling me on the good old reliable phone
No no is my advice I think. I downloaded the app cause I was looking for a local doctor and unfortunately due to this pandemic crisis on the website of this doctors webpage it suggested I downloaded the app to use virtual
But I finally checked it out this morning
Choosing video and as I waited for search of provider it showed a screen telling me dr was no longer on line so that’s it this app don’t have too many features so I tried again this time phone and waited twenty minutes and I heard a quick mid guiding response telling me I was being put on conference call? I got charged twice for no service after waiting an hour and twenty minutes Bee careful

Firstly, the app is fine. The visit was fine. If it weren’t for the following, I would rate the app five stars.
However, I was prescribed meds and my pharmacy hasn’t received it yet, 3 hours later. No big deal, I will call Amwell’s support desk. I have been on hold for over an hour and the automated voice giving wait times has given me so many different times via this call. 15 minutes in I had a 55 minute wait time according to the recording. 30 minutes in I had a 30 minute wait time. Five minutes later it was back up to 50. Now an hour in, back to 40. This is awful.
I will never use this service again, just for this reason alone. I’m sure when this works well, no support needed, it deserves praise. When it doesn’t...

My first time ever using virtual service for a doctor’s visit, it was new, unusual, and a bit awkward feeling to begin with, but the doctor I spoke to was very friendly and “warm” making me feel comfortable to open up and discuss my symptoms immediately! It was easier than driving to the clinic, checking in, sitting in the waiting room, or standing in any lines. As soon as I selected a doctor and entered my symptoms, I was speaking to the doctor within minutes!

I’m sure it’s a great app, but it has been an hour so far, in a “waiting room” waiting to speak to someone... very annoying since my appt will literally take 5 minutes. Come on.

Best Doctor visit ever. I didn’t have to leave the house and sit with other people in a waiting room. I didn’t have to get kids dressed. The pediatrician was very nice and knowledgeable. I am very pleased. The price is worth the convenience!

This was a phenomenal experience. No wait, right from home, the doctor was a doll and thorough. I would do this again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much. My doctor wasn’t in and even with this pandemic they wanted me to make an appointment. So basically I would be suffering till then and going out when there is no way I would want to. Now my script is at the pharmacy!! Awesome service.

First time using it. It went very quick considering the circumstances we are currently facing. I told the Dr my problem he prescribed the medication and I was on my way. No complaints. Very satisfied. Also very thankful I did not have to go to a dr office for a my issue. Add on....and the prescription didn’t cost an arm and a leg like I thought it would.
Poorly designed, poor customer services, doctors hang up immediately 1/5
The app seems like it was designed in 2008 with no oversight. The app breaks in the most easy corner cases, like closing the app and reopening it while waiting for a scheduled appoitment: poof, your appt is gone without a trace.
“Oh! They sent me a link as well, that will surely let me back in”. Nope, you log in again despite clicking remember me then nothing happens. It hangs for 5 - 10s on an iPhone X and you still don’t have access to the waiting room; just a message: “appointment in progress” with no way to click into the waiting room. Click on every bit of that card and nothing will happen.
Was Charged when I should not have Been 3/5
The app would not take the code provided by BROWARD Health to have a free visit for the COVID testing prescription. This is not right as we need the prescription and the county is providing the code BHEALTHY for the visit to be free. Is even on the first page of this app. Please reimburse my $69 you charged.

I contacted through video and talked about covid symptoms. What should I do and what are the things I can’t do. I asked if there’s any food I need to avoid and if there’s any food I need to eat. Well since covid is very new she said that they can’t say what’s good for food and what are the things I can’t do. She told me basically to just visit urgent care cos I have to be checked in person. So I paid $69 to be told that I have to go to urgent care anyway. Waste of money. If you think your symptoms needs to seen by a doctor I recommend you just go straight to urgent care.

I am very satisfied using this “tool”. It is much safer for everyone at this time and I was “in and out” of the “dr office” in no time flat with my issue. Very pleased with the dr as she was very nice.

0 stars. Period. I paid my co pay and everything and have still not gotten ahold of the doctor. I called customer service and was put on hold for an hour. Then when I called again to requea refund I was put on hold an still haven't gotten to speak to anyone, I dont know if I'm getting a refund or not but definitely will take this to court if I dont get a logical explanation on this inconvenience. Sidenote, if they say they're transferring you to tach support just hang up. The longest I waited was two and a half hours before hanging up. I'm done and livid with this, I'd rather go to a hospital and risk getting covid 19 than to sit and listen to their crappy wait music for another hour. Terrible service. As I'm typing this I'm on hold.

I’ve used amwell for my family for years now. The app works fine however I always have to go track down my prescriptions that never get called in. Can’t believe it’s happening again. Currently on hold and getting this message, “your call will be answered in approximately 93 minutes, please hold.”
Declines credit card
This company only charge you on the card you give first than wait for the response of the insurance you have.
I find out on my bank account they charge the next day when I have my doctors appointment than the insurance first. I call and the receptionist don’t have the information necessary to give you and have to transfer to billing that never answer and have to wait for 1 to 2 or more hours.
The receptionist don’t have basic information like what say billing work or the time, her answer was don’t know and still transfer you to billing no knowing if the office is open but know the volume is high.
