Can’t even begin to tell you about the actual functionality of the app because it WILL NOT let me sign in. I checked the credentials and ensured they were entered correctly and EVERY time I clicked sign in it would just redirect to the home page.

I don’t know what’s happened with this app but I can never login into it even though I can login on my nook and on the website so I know it’s not me. So why can’t I ever login? Please look into this app. Considering deleting it!

After the latest update, I can no longer sign into the app. I am redirected back to the sign in screen. I have tried resetting my password and deleting the app and reinstalling.
This is an app I use frequently and I am disappointed I can no longer use it.

It gets logged out each time and the. Doesn’t let me log in. I tried purchasing a book. It took soooo long to log in I had to close the app and then try again. Then it happens again. Impossible to log in!

Barnes & Noble bookstores are awesome… This app is not. It looks out of date, and operates on an iPad, as an iPhone app. That is to say it is meant to be used on an iPhone and using it an iPad is painful. I wish Barnes & Noble‘s will allow people to purchase eBook and magazines directly through the Nook app for iOS, which is a terrific app.
I think Barnes & Noble needs to scrap this app, and start again from the ground up. this app is certainly a conquer. But I still love, Barnes & Noble bookstores… and the Nook app.

Like basically every other review, it won’t let me log on. I’ve uninstalled, re installed it… just takes you back to the log in page. The last time there was a big sale, I couldn’t get the app to work either. It’s so inconsistent and beyond frustrating.

Barnes and Noble is my favorite store. It is my happy place. I can’t always make it into the store so I try and peruse the app occasionally hoping updates would improve performance but it’s been years and it’s still not very good. I get logged out all the time, it’s very glitchy. I would probably shop more on the app if it were better.

This app used to be great, I wouldn’t get logged out every time I try to do something. I’ve tried reinstalling the app and restarting my phone to no avail. At this point I feel the only other option is to trash the app all together. It’s of little use anyway as it stands now.

I logged in just fine but it won’t let me change my number, my secret question wasn't saved from previously, none of my cards are on file and none of my addresses either. There’s nothing from my purchase history. It’s like it did a clean sweep and it has my named changed from my business email which I’ve only had for the past 2 years. My personal email is the only thing that’s on my file. My membership isn’t online either. I’ve had an account and have shopped on the website since 2014 so I don’t understand when I got the app it just erased everything

Every time I try to login it takes me back to the login screen. Seems to be the same issue with other reviews. I have stopped the app and rebooted my device and am still experiencing this issue. Several of your responses say the issue was fixed but clearly it hasn’t been. Better off using the website…

I swear to god, I’ve never had more issues with logging in on ANY app than I have with this one. The app never remembers my password, even right after I reset it (which I’ve had to do several times over the last two years) and now when I try to log in, it just takes me right back to the log in screen (has now done this 5 times). I loathe having to try to search or order books from this app, because something always goes wrong.

The app lets you enter your username and password but when you tap enter it just takes you back to the log in screen. I have tried closing fully out of the app and trying again as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It still doesn’t work.

I’m so confused about this app. It never saves my log in - nor does it allow Face ID. Frustrating since the website does. Since the update I can’t even log in - it just keeps returning me to the log in screen.
Another annoyance is when you order a book for in store pick up the option to add a proxy (someone to pick up you order for you) is not obvious- you have to click edit order before you click buy to even see it as an option. If you miss this because you are in fact NOT Sherlock Holmes, then there is nothing you can do. There is no option to cancel or change the order. If you try to chat with customer service they will also tell you there is nothing they can do - because they don’t have an option to change it - and if you call the store to let them know someone else will pick the order up … you guessed it! There is nothing they can do. So hopefully you can order it twice - and hope they still have a copy of the book you want in store.
I’m not sure why it’s so hard to make a user friendly app - or to provide customer service that helps problem solve. Especially since you are raising membership from $25 to $40.

I’ve tried logging back in after it’s kicked me out every time I close the app. Then when I try to log in , it kicks me back to the Home Screen every time. I know I’m not the only one with this issue. I was able to get on through the website however it wouldn’t let me put anything in my cart it would just bring the pop up daunt it was added and not show in my cart even after refreshing and logging back in, there would be nothing in my cart.

App used to work ok but now it logs me out and after the last time it logged me out it just crashes every time I enter my info and takes me back to the login screen. I’ve deleted and re downloaded the app and nothing changed. Had to end up using my browser.

After multiple attempts to log in with a valid BN account and password failed.
I gave up. Useless app if I cannot log into it. I am sure Amazon will continue to enjoy taking my book purchase orders. It’s a real shame.

I’m unable to log into the app ever since I downloaded it for the first time when it came out. It keeps taking me back to the log in menu. It’s not a password or username issue either as they work on the website and the app does not show any error when log in information were input. There was only one instance where my log in work and that’s about it. Currently unable to utilize the app at all. Will be uninstalling to save space for the time being.

I have been fighting with this app for over a month now and still have yet to be able to log in. I have followed others advice-deleted the app and reinstalled (too many times to count), powered down and back up and changed passwords. I was really hopeful that this would make using the premium membership worthwhile, but at this rate it seems pointless to have the premium membership when I have to use the website which is difficult on a phone. I hope this gets fixed.

The app worked just fine when I first got it and I was rather surprised by all the bad reviews, until I downloaded it myself and used it for about only two days before the app stopped working completely.
No matter how many times I sign in with the correct information, uninstall/reinstall the app, or do ANYTHING, the app does still not function at all. So until the app gets fixed, the rating still stay at a 1 star.

The app literally does not log you in no matter what troubleshooting you do with it. I would recommend fixing the login issues multiple users report as soon as possible.

This app is ridiculous! Now, I can’t even get into my account to order books. So I deleted app and I can’t reinstall the app. Plus they took away the teacher discount and membership is now like 40 dollars a year. This could be a sign that I am now done with Barnes and Noble. I guess Amazon will be getting my business all the time now.

Pros:
Faster for sure. Can tell whether things are in stock or will need to be ordered.
Cons:
No matter how many times you try to log in, close the app, reinstall the app, no go. Kicks you back out/restarts.
Can’t check out as guest either, no gift cards, can’t link membership or really any other function that requires login.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, just doesn’t seem like using an app should be this involved.

The Barnes & Noble app has always been terrible, once it was remade I had hope and it did seem to be working properly for a bit. Now, it won’t let you log into your account and keeps kicking me out of the app. Please fix your app and make it actually possible to use.
