The app asks me to login after I open some articles.
When I am logged in, there are many articles with sentences cut towards the end of paragraph.
The journal is great, but the app could use some fixes.

After two months of alerting the problem to Barron’s dev team and editors, it has still not been resolved. Charging >$200 a year for a subscription and then not properly supporting it is totally unprofessional. I will have to cancel my subscription of over 15 years if this continues.

For over a year now this app asks me if it should track me all the time or “ask app not to track” EVERY TIME I open the app. To make it worse neither option is clickable so to see the content which I PAY FOR, I must just slide that pop up away, effectively not answering. Therefore I assume Dow is taking liberties with tracking my data and I give a low rating. Tried contacting through Apple. I just deleted and reinstalled the Barron’s app so THAT didn’t help! Maybe someone can read this and respond or reach out with the fix.

The app is unusable on an iPhone 14 pro max. Written word content gets cut off randomly and replaced with ellipsis. Do not buy this app/subscription.

Great articles and commentary. Two issues- sometimes the last few words of a paragraph are chopped off. Secondly, you have to go through several steps to get to all comments.

A subscription is needed in order to get any benefit from this app. Every article I clicked on to read needed a subscription. Feels manipulative to offer a “free” login but then not have any content. Deleted.

I love this app and how easy it is to get useful information. It is easy for me to use and it had many great features. I use this app almost every day and it is one of my favorite news sources. I recommend this app to anyone who does not want to spend a lot of money for great information.

I subscribed and the app still won’t recognize it. I was supposed to get a month free but I was charged within 10 minutes but IRP won’t let me read anything. TERRIBLE.

From the moment I downloaded the signing was a struggle. On the iPhone, the face recognition never worked. It ask me to sign in every time I opened the app. Finally after spending 20 minutes trying to login, resets my password, face recognition failing, it informed me my subscription ram out yesterday. Why could it not tell me that when I open the app 20 minutes ago??? For obvious reasons I will not be renewing my subscription do to issues with the app

This Barron’s app is not so quick in responding to links. No dark mode, not as fast as WSJ app.
And there can be lot of enhancements which can be done by just referring to WSJ app.

Do the developers realize how difficult it is to login ? Same with the WSJ. IOS password manager cannot auto fill. Dow Jones expects readers to manually enter login ID. Good way to reduce readership and site visits.

I have to constantly login. Crashing. Annoying video adds and I can no longer share to my “read later app”. The greediness is ruining the app. Fix it or I’m done.
Simple things overlooked 2/5
Why is it that the WSJ can’t even get the simple things right in their apps. For years you could not access the app if there was an update available. That was problematic as we don’t always have Wi-Fi to update when trying to read the appear. They finally got that fixed and the new update requires you to login again. This is a very easy fix so it must mean that they just don’t care about their customers.

Sort by date and come to your own conclusion as to what Barron’s is rated. 4.6 stars looks like wishful thinking.
After over 50 years subscribing to Barrons, I cancelled my subscription. Following Murdoch's purchase, the better writers left. The current articles just aren't well written or very insightful. Much like its sister publications the Sun or NY Post. All expected with the change of ownership.

The content is great but the app is horrible. It keeps auto playing ads with sound, despite having my volume all the way down and the switch turned Off. And I have to log in numerous times. I expect better from a prestigious periodical. Looks like this is happening to several other people too

Recently, the app prompts me to daily log in or restore subscription. Restore subscription never seems to work so now I must log in daily. For years, this was not a problem. Please fix the bug and persist logged in state correctly.

Was a good app until the last release. Annoying video apps constantly pop up with the sound enabled so you have to constantly mute the ad. To make things even worse it’s the same as over and over. I basically have to hit the mute button 4 to 5 times in every article I read.

Barrons Texh ad team: are you idiots? Your readers are reading and commonly multi tasking on phones while reading the paid for content.
You have just killed the ability to read Barrons on a phone while doing anything else (conference calls, meetings, etc.) by having audio adds pop up.
There is no ability to disable this feature.
Turn it off or lose customers. You clearly don’t understand your customer base by enabling audio adds over text content.

Obnoxious video ads 1/5
Recently the app starts playing annoying video ads with sound while I am trying to read. I tried muting the ad, but it starts up again as I scroll down a little to read the story. I am paying for my Barron’s subscription and I am disgusted by these obnoxious ads. I have to turn my sound volume down to zero while using the app, and then remember to turn it back up when done. The app needs a way to choose sound off all the time.
Also it now makes me log in constantly. The app is updated weekly and requires I log in after each update.

The recent update added a “feature” that now plays video ads on every page of the app. It’s so incredibly annoying that I’ve stopped using the app and log directly into their site with a browser. Same content without the harrassment.

App allows ads that auto plays sounds which is really obnoxious. Lately it also frequently forgets that I am logged in and I have to keep signing back in.
I wish Barron’s would stop with the clickbait style headlines on latest section.
All these things combined encouraged me to ditch my subscription, not the level of quality I expect

With the most recent update, ads always play sound, even though I have the sound turned off on my phone. Not sure how it ignores my phone settings but I clicked on App Support and it send me to a MarketWatch subscription page, rather than a place to provide feedback / seek support, so the lack of quality control makes sense. Not sure I trust this app …

The only “improvement” from latest update are audible ads that automatically play repeatedly each time you look at the list of the latest articles. Time to cancel.
Auto playing video ads ruin user experience 1/5
This is a terrible app with two desperate flaws. First, it regularly fails to recognize subscriptions and one has to click through login in and restore purchases dialogs.
Second it has auto play video ads with intrusive soundtracks. Listening to music while reading your paid subscription articles is impossible because the video ads launch every few seconds.
This for a $400 annual subscription is absolutely pathetic.

It has logged me out and completely wiped my login credentials. Again. On top of this, it now thinks my personally paid for Barron’s account is the same as my corporate paid for WSJ account, which is not the case.

3 stars because Barron’s started adding video ads with sound even though the company charges a hefty subscription fee. The ads are annoying.
Barron’s has good writers and informative articles. The app is very useful. The ads; however, detract from the user experience.
Some contents not accessible after a recent update 1/5
I am a subscriber and I can read the magazine. However when reading news articles it keeps asking me to login. Previously after relogin I could read the articles again but now it does not let me. Update the app does not help. Please fix it ASAP
Bugs with login and video ads 2/5
I’m a subscriber to the content, but the bugs in the app are interfering with my ability to read articles:
The app asks you to login to view content when you’re already logged in. Clicking login after this notification does nothing. You have to close the app and reopen to view subscriber content.
Video ads play by default and sound is on. Scrolling away from the article with the embedded ad doesn’t stop the audio. Closing the app is the only way to stop it.

Signed up for a 1 year membership for $50. Little did I realize that they would start billing me after that $30 a month. When I finally realized after several months, they would not budge. Terrible customer service and deceptive billing practices. I will never subscribe again.

Can you fix the ads - it’s really annoying that your ads start playing music when the phone is in silent mode. Turning the sound off doesn’t work as the music starts playing again when you scroll down the article or start reading the new one. Please fix as it’s extremely annoying
