Update: as of 7/18 I’m locked out again. Update: instructions in second email gave info on restoring purchases. Did that and it fixed the problem. Paid for 1 month subscription but it wouldn’t unlock. Notified support, got a form letter. Tried upgrading to 1 year subscription and it still won’t unlock. Will be trying to cancel. Hope THAT works!

Please fix crash since the latest update 4.7.4. It crashes after every blink. That’s not useable.
  • Don’t blink or you will miss the hard left turn 1/5

    By Bobcat1965
Most of the titles offered are so far left that it erodes credibility. Feminist rants and anti-Trump books are the majority. I expect to have a mix to educate but when they all lean one way its easy to see the intent of the app. If you listen to these every day please find some balance elsewhere so you don’t fall off the cliff with the app.

Tried several times to purchase lifetime membership at reduced rate. Only allowed full payment even with discount code. Nonexistent support. May have been charged twice for service but have to wait for credit card info. Total waste of time trying to work with these people.

I know I need to read, but as an executive my time is limited. So Blinkist was a godsend, I read a few blinks of books that I had previously read, Blinkist gets the crucial highlights, no more need to slog through all the content, you will have the right information. But, this can also play for a nice highlight for getting a full book, just have not seen the need yet.
  • not very satisfied 2/5

By I'm a loser guy in the World
when I first got this app, I was super excited to review it and be happy with the app. I'm sure this app would be awesome except you have to pay $6.99 a month! It may not be much to some people but I wish people would tell you there is a subscription before you download the app.
  • Blinkist is Wonderful 4/5

    By Bll3
To be able to digest the crux of a topic in such a short time is extremely helpful to those of us who have large appetites for data. Highly recommend. I would like just a little more depth to the synopsis but that’s just a nitpick.
  • Caution with the subscription 1/5

    By NefiAlejandro
This is advertised as a free app, but be aware that it is not. I downloaded it under that understanding, and it wasn’t until after I made an account that it notified me that it costs $70 a year. So, I deleted it, but I was still charged for the subscription. It’s been a hassle getting it refunded and my Apple ID was disabled in the process. I’ve been trying all week to re-enable it, and it took some time to get that far. The app is most likely a good quality app (for $70 it must be), but it should be a little more up-front with the price.

  • Keeps crashing ! 1/5

    By Ludohk
I found the concept of this app very interesting so I took the plunge and subscribed .. installed on my brand new iPad mini with latest IOS update as I write IOS11 something. Well it sure looks good but it keeps crashing when I listen to the blinks. At every new page ( every minute or so) the app crashes, and I need to restart it to continue listening... not really practical. I le raise my notes once you guys fix this because for time being it remains just a good concept not a good app. Should not have paid for that.

    By Maia-lopes199guesswhat
So I saw a the publicity of this app on all my social media accounts and felt very tempted to try it since it is so famous. I really like the fact that you offer summarised articles and books. The only problem is that you’ll have to spend a ton of money to access those books😒 therefore I was forced to delete the app , I rather prefer using the internet to find the books I want. Please fix this because not everything have the money to spend on your App. ✌🏽
  • Premium plan is not so premium 2/5

    By catkat83
It's a good idea, but why doesn't the premium plan include audio? It just makes no sense, and they want to charge an arm and a leg for the plan that includes audio. I found the regular plan isn't worth it, barely used it, what a waste of time!
  • Scam business model 1/5

    By shane29999
They count on using the trial and forgetting to cancel within the week and charging you a yearly fee of $80ish dollars. Then when you ask about the 14 day money back guarantee they will say, oops you subscribed via Apple so it’s out of our hands. They could easily charge the monthly fee automatically after trials, but they can’t I assume because preying on people is a significant portion of their business.
  • Blinkist is a valuable tool 5/5

    By Stamford4321
Blinkist is a great way to stay ahead. It takes a few minutes a day to take in new and potentially important ideas. It’s a good way to introduce you to books you may want to read in full as well.
  • Good for a busy person who needs the meat of the content ASAP 4/5

  • Don’t trust the money back guarantee 1/5

    By MelanieB21
The app is fine. Support is horrible. They give you a free trial but ask for your credit card information. Then charge you $80 if you don’t cancel in time. That’s fine. I agreed to that because they have a money-back guarantee if you are unsatisfied. Now i am unsatisfied but blinkist cannot refund since it was purchased through the App Store and its impossible to get in touch with Apple. $80 wasted under a false promise of money back.

I don’t have the money forthe $78/year subscription, but the free daily read stimulates my thinking in an easy-to-access 15-minute “blink!”
  • Monthly Means You Actually Get To Pay Monthly 2/5

    By Bo Stansell
You don’t get to put the monthly price if you don’t have the option to pay monthly. That’s just an annual price.
  • Easy To Use | Daily Read Picks | Cheaper Books for avid readers 5/5

    By pj_neme
My girlfriend and I decided to start a private book club, where we read 2 books a month and review it together. Prices on amazon for first 3 books came up to 70$. All these books and many more are available on this app for 79$ per year. Must have!
  • Can’t Cancel! 1/5

    By LMCD4
I have tried to cancel this subscription in every way possible. It just sends you in circles. I thought I had cancelled over a year ago only to have contacted them to tell them I wanted to cancel and never heard back and of course, was charged again for the subscription. Apple should look into why there is no cancel subscription option in settings! Be careful as I just submitted another request to cancel and got the “we are really busy” reply. Still not cancelled.
  • Get the upgrade marker off my screen 4/5

    By jeben26
I was enjoying the app and now there is this constant want to upgrade marker in green on my screen. No, I don’t need you to pick Books for me....for more money every month. It interferes with my reading...GET IT OFF MY SCREEN!
  • Max Costs, No Warning on Free Trial 1/5

    By Love Adam
If you are gullible as I was to try the app for 7 days BEWARE you will get no warning and will be charged $79.99. Note it’s a automatic renewal very Year. While the product has decent value it is not worth the $80. The book reviews are very basic and offer little real insight.
  • Becomes indispensable quickly 5/5

    By TimDurkin
Leaders are readers. At least the good ones are. Leaders are also busy. Blinkist ends the either/or choice of reading or leading with outstanding and well crafted summaries. Now, reading and leading are not only possible but convenient.
  • Free book a day is not your choice. 1/5

    By notsooofree
I just downloaded this app thinking I would challenge myself to read a book a day. They offer the ability to read one free book a day in the free version of this app. Well you do NOT get to choose the book you read each day.... it is chosen for you. Ah really!!!! So if you want to choose the book(s) you read you have to pay a hefty annual fee. No thank you!!! I am uninstalling this useless free app.
  • Great summaries 5/5

Very useful app for anyone how want to read more in fast way.
  • Great idea 5/5

    By jess-ification
I was really excited to find this app. I’m still navigating it in the early stages; this is my first day using it. However, I would love to see this app as it develops, and i’m wondering for instants if there will be more material available as time passes, covering more angles of academia. Either way, this is really an awesome idea, I just dropped out of college for a short time to save up money to finish getting my degree, and I’ve definitely felt like I’ve been mentally dwindling, so having this app to help me exercise my mind is a really cool thing.

Dangerous app. They will change $80 and not provide any refund. AVOID! Don’t Try it!
  • Love it 5/5

    By Qwert156
I love being able to choose books that I can quickly get a summary of. I really enjoy the ability of the audio. Every time I take a shower I also listen to a book. For some reason the selections of books are phenomenal. Blinkist keeps me up to date on all the current reads and makes me aware of older books I missed.
  • Can’t get my money back???? 1/5

    By janew404
How do I get my money back if you forget to cancel within the trial period????? What app charges for a full year after a trial period? My fault for not reading the fine print.

    By emnem16
I’ve enjoyed the content so far BUT the 7 day trial is really a 6 day trial because you need to cancel 24 hrs before, which is how they get you!!! Now I have $80 charged to my account that I cannot afford or get refunded for. I doubt I can get a years worth of interesting content out of this app. Very expensive
  • great for the “meat” - quick tips and info 5/5

    By LawHacker316
Really enjoying and getting a lot out of the app so far. Gonna play with the settings and see if the audio playback can be a little more automatic - maybe I’m missing something - otherwise, really slick and looking forward to using more. ~SW
  • Perfectly condensing amazing content 5/5

I’ve read a lot of books about motivation, finance, entrepreneurship, self development and they all seem to have the same the same thing in common. 90% lecture and 10% actionable. Blinkist has been very successful in getting me that 10% and saving me from the other 90%. I’ve ever listened to the blinks of some of my favorite books and can say that I got just as much, if not more out of them than the actual books. Thank you!

I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to make an exception. Such a great concept and executed well. I’ve read/listened to 4 books today alone. I’m already using some of the tools learned in one of the books I read/listened to this morning. I used it on my commute to and from work and can’t wait to get to some more titles tmrw. Definitely worth the money!
  • I’ll use it when I want to! 1/5

Received 5 emails after downloading on my first day, and three the following day. Deleted the app.
  • Update #2 - Finally, I Am Using Blink 4/5

    By SongDuck™
[UPDATE #2 - 05/15/18] At least for now I’ve gotten past their confusing subscription model which only offered to go from 1 week trial to an annual plan. Still not sure how I ever found the monthly plan but I’m finally using Blink; and, I find the more I use it, the more I’m getting to like Blink. As for myself, the first Trial Blink I listened to was not very good. But I’m finding each blink to be a product between author, Blink copy writer, and narrator. Since listening to my first Blink, I’ve found very interesting Blinks, with good information, well written, condensed, and narrated. So I’m adding another star. I will return next month, with my final evaluation of Blink. [UPDATE #1 - 05/11/18] I honestly do not know how I found a page that enabled 1 month subscriptions, it wasn’t easy . (I believe I came across it while running the app on my iPad.) Therefore, to be fair, I added a star and signed up for a monthly automatic renewal subscription plan that can be canceled at any time. I still am not satisfied with the difficulty understanding the app’s subscription plans, they are very confusing. I suggest that the developers offer a simple 2 week trial after which you provide options to subscribe for a monthly or annual plan. Your 1 week trial is too short to evaluate, and at the end of the trial period I was only offered an annual plan. So, I now have a month to fairly assess the app, after which I will update my review again. [ORIGINAL REVIEW] I’m writing this after only a few days of trying Blinklist. It’s a shame that the subscription plans is the most confusing I’ve ever seen (as listed as in-app purchase in the App Store). It has different prices for the same item, shows a monthly option, and various types of Blink, e.g. what’s the difference between your Plus and Premium plans? As if that weren’t bad enough, after a short one week trial the app’s only subscription ‘choice’ is one full year at $80. That is absurd. What happened to the other plans, like a monthly rate? They’re gone. It seems rather sleazy to have the shortest trial and to potentially charge for a full year after only one week. Why only a one week trial? Is that so people, used to two week trials, will be charged for a full year. I would have subscribed for one month. But I can’t see my way to an annual subscription for an app I hardly had time to try. My experience with your Blinks is not impressive. The summaries are so brief that there isn’t much material there. It reads like a list of bullet points. Too bad, there was so little time to try the app. Had I been able to give it a decent trial and a one month renewal I might have written a different review. {See above Updates for my latest opinions}.
  • Don’t do it! 1/5

    By _jeffrey
I was unsure about this but thought I would give it a try. After a couple of weeks I discovered the abbreviated versions of books don’t really make for good reading or understanding. I cancelled (or so I thought). It was a nightmare trying to get someone from Blinkist to confirm my cancellation and I was never able to get even a prorated portion of my payment (I used this service for a month!). Blinkist blamed Apple and Apple took ZERO RESPONSIBILITY... easiest money they’ve ever made and my loss because this service isn’t for the serious reader.
  • Review 5/5

    By TheHachenberger
I really like the concept and enjoy the daily free sample. I’d just wish there wouldn’t be this wast oven of self help books that all say the same thing. There are really good and great books that might be a bit more academic but even more valuable to learn from than the mainstream junk. Just a thought. Keep up the great work though!
