Why did I wait so long? 5/5
Absolutely amazing. Even my least favorite meals are delicious! The app makes it really easy to change your delivery menu on the fly. You can even watch videos on the preparation steps in case you need more guidance or explanation. My picky daughter who doesn’t like veggies is eating them all the time now. When I make a meal that’s not blue apron and our daughter hesitates to try it, I tell her it’s Blue Apron and she eats it all! Thank you Blue Apron!
Great meals! Why 1 star? 1/5
Are we really just going to ignore the fact that we have to log on once a month and cancel meals so we don’t get charged?!?!? They refuse to put an option to cancel or suspend your subscription, but we can easily and efficiently select our weekly meals which makes this service great. But we pretend that they can’t let us cancel or suspend our subscription on the app?!?!? We have to call customer support and do it over the phone?!?!? I love Blue Apron, but stop letting companies getting away with that B.S! It’s a matter of principle! We all hate having to call the customer service or support and cancel a subscription when we can do so many things over their app but yet they conveniently leave those options off of their app to make it harder for us to cancel or suspend our subscription.
Good idea + poor quality and bad experience 1/5
We’ve used BlueApron for 2-3 month for the family of 4 and our overall experience was quite bad for a number of reasons:
1. At least once a week something was seriously mixed up in the package - either wrong recipe or missing ingredient or a combination of both
2. Cook time and was always way longer than promised in the recipe - even though my wife and I were cooking together (!)
3. Quality of ingredients was often questionable
When we’ve decided to cancel, they don’t even have such option in the UI - we had to contact their support to cancel our subscription.
All things combined - I don’t understand how they’ve got such high ratings in the AppStore... either these guys are buying 3rd party reviews to raise their ratings, or our family is like extremely unlucky with BlueApron. :-(

This service actually saves me money and time considering I do not over shop. My son has expanded his eating taste and loves to be lead Chef ( not so much my daughter).

I’ve heard so many good things about this service. I want to like it I really do. But when what I ordered never actually gets to me it’s quite hard to do. Very upset that I wasted my money. I will be contacting them to try and get a refund.

Blue Apron is quickly becoming more preferable than going to some of my favorite restaurants in town. We are enjoying cooking together and the meals are always very good. The only point I would make to improve is to make it easier to add gift cards that are received. For the holidays and my birthday I told everyone to just get me BA gift cards and the app makes it so difficult to add the credit.

I just signed up and added the app to my iPad, the screen is one very small rectangle in the middle with a huge black border, not very easy to use that way. I hav not received my first delivery but am looking forward to it. The recipes sound good!

I have never been disappointed with a single recipe from Blue Apron. There were times when I was cooking with food I’ve never heard of before but I never discarded an ingredient or changed a recipe. I figured, how bad could it taste? A recent recipe for roasted broccoli called for squeezing the juice of a fresh lemon on it after it baked. I said to myself, “I don’t need lemon juice on my broccoli. My broccoli is fine the way it is.” Then I said, “What the heck!” OMG! What a new taste sensation! I also roasted garlic cloves with the broccoli because they were left over from a previous recipe. If a recipe calls for two cloves of garlic, Blue Apron will send a whole bulb of garlic so there’s always leftover garlic. I cook for just myself so Blue Apron has been great for me. I thought about trying other food services but I figured, why mess with perfection! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

My husband says repeatedly, “I love Blue Apron”. I do too. I don’t have to plan or shop for dinner. I can easily follow the recipes. No exotic cookware. If you have the bare minimum basics of kitchen items, you can do this. My teenage son started cooking meals. Excellent ingredients, excellent menus, plenty to eat, excellent results.
Ok app but need dietary restrictions built in 3/5
App is ok but need to check box for fooddddd allergy issues (gluten, dairy, wheat). Need to see entire recipe / ingredients easily & build into app the various dietary restrictions everyone seems to have these days: allergies to wheat, dairy, egg, nuts etc. weeding out recipes / choosing by week would be easier if it were more visible / accessible in mobile app. Your competitors are already doing this - step up your game. Thx.
Overall this app is very user friendly but I don’t like how the recipes are displayed now. I prefer vertical vs horizontal for the weekly view.
We are busy professionals and our kids are grown and gone. Shopping for fresh ingredients during the week is a time consuming hassle, let alone cooking after that along with the leftovers generated by many traditional recipes when cooking for two. Blue Apron fits our lifestyle!

Absolutely delicious meals and very affordable. I love this.
In the past two deliveries I am iodated with carrots. Also ingredients were spilled during shipping so meal was tasteless. Out of 6 meals one was really good. The others went from bad to worse. I am skipping January deliveries until they find other choices than carrots.

I love the ease of the meal preparation and so does my husband. I recently started working outside the home and bought the plan so he could cook for me. He did it a couple of times and then I had to take over again .He’s just too tired. The Blue makes it so much easier for me to cook when I come in or even on my days off. I don’t have to think and come up with something new. The Blue does it for me I’m so grateful for this service. And did I mention that the food is great! Thanks Blue Apron. I suggest it all the time to my friends and family.

We’ve been getting Blue Apron 3 times a week for the past 6 months. The variety of the recipes are astounding- far better than I could dream up on my own. The quality of the food is great too. The quantity is perfect for the two of us and we are not light eaters. I usually pick a fish dish, a meat dish and a vegetarian dish each week and they are all home runs. My husband puts on music to match the country of the cuisine I’m serving that night. We agree we could not eat better at a restaurant. I think it helps us save money too. I highly recommend it.

I tried Blue Apron for about two months. It’s great for learning new recipes and trying foods I probably wouldn’t have on my own. The recipes all have pretty basic ingredients though, so for the amount you’re paying I really started to feel like I was being wasteful with my money and that I should just go grocery shopping.

This app is so helpful so you can save recipes you’ve used without keeping all the papers at home. It also has great tips, I haven’t tried yet though. I look forward to using the app more and maybe one day the company will do away w the paper recipes in the delivery boxes to cut back on paper waste!

I could go on for hours about how good the food is and how it helps us eat healthier with great variety, allowing a very busy family to spend time together and not roaming the grocery store. We’ve been ordering Blue Apron for more than 5 years and while we have tried other meal providers, we always come back to BA. Besides the great food and variety, the app makes it SO easy to select the food we want and change orders when we need to. I can say of all the other meal apps I’ve tried, this one by far is the best and easiest to use. Nice job, designers.

Food and recipes are good, but as others have said, they intentionally make it difficult to cancel your account and there is no option to indefinitely pause. There is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to conveniently cancel or pause my account through the app.

With multiple updates happening with the app, my delivery schedule was deleted each time and had deliveries arrive when I was out of town. I wrote BA in the app multiple times and had no response. I hate the app. Prior to having the app I had great customer service. I’m now considering canceling it all together because I have lost money.

Both shipments we received had rotten food init. They take great care on the meat part but leave out the extra ice pack for the rest of the ingredients. Plus the Fed Ex was to lazy to come to the door so he just put the first one in direct sunlight.The delivery ticket said “DON’T LEAVE IN SUNLIGHT!! Now that box with stood the heat and all the ice was there but there was mold on the greens and all the veggiies. The fish was questionable and the stakes were for a child I could have taken the $75 between the 2 boxes and had my pantry full. But to have to throw out at least 50% of each box.... Isend the company a request reqfund with pictures of the itemes. I explianed so no proof not money back. I have all ready toled Apple employees don”t use the App it is a waste of hard earned money and I am on a fixed-income being disabled so I had to go to the food Bank to supplement my food for the month. I told the people at The Food bank not to bother with the company. I received better food that is for sure.
