The new app for mega boom causes a bad 1/2 second skip in the music every 3-5 minutes ensuring a very unpleasant pause in virtually every song. The little hipster software engineers at UE had one job... Make a tiny app that plays music on their hardware reliably. Ooops! Seems they have some work to do! Or maybe they think we shouldn’t mind constant hiccups.

It's failing to find my speakers and won't let me partyup anymore. They're both up to date and I've tried restarting them. I've closed the app and tried again. Nothings working

Have always enjoyed your speakers. Actually I have 3 of them. Ever since I updated the app. I can only turn on the speakers manually. It worked well before but not any more WHY ??

You guys make awesome speakers! Super big fan and I use it during my morning shower everyday. One suggestion is Siri Shortcut support! You guys are sold at Apple Store's and use exclusively Music, but don't have support for Siri Shortcuts! It would be so nice to be able to ask Siri to turn my speaker on instead of opening up the app. Thanks for all your hard work :) big fan here!
App won’t accept Bluetooth connection 1/5
Try to connect to UEBoom and app says that I still need to connect to device with Bluetooth. I trust ions to connect and won’t load next screen. Haven’t had any problems till the IOS 13 update on my iPhone XR. I hope they figure this out....

Updates keep crashing the app. It’s disappointing to see that no matter how many times the developers experience this problem, they never seem prepared to roll out a version that will match the new software. It has now been 3 weeks since iOS 13 came out.

For those on iOS 13, go into phone settings and Boom app...turn on Bluetooth. App needs that to see speakers nearby.

Looks like you have pretty ordinary app development team. App is no longer opening. At least Test it before you put it for your customers.
Update as on 1/10/19: After contacting boom support I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it worked fine for me. But, I reiterate my point that it should have been quality tested before releasing it to the customers.

Have loaded, deleted, and reloaded app over and over. It will not recognize the Boom 2 is connected to my iPhone. Speaker is connected but I cannot access any other features and controls supposedly in this useless app. Great speaker but app makes the ultimate ears speaker next to useless.

My review is limited to saying that the new app that works with Boom with Megaboom speakers fixed the Bluetooth connectivity issue seen in both of the older versions of the app.
Nice to see one app can now manage both types of speakers.
The new app was downloaded and listed my speakers, including names.

CUTE SPEAKERS, PATHETIC APP 2/5
Where should I start? I have one MegaBoom 3 and two Boom 2 speakers. Even if the iPhone Bluetooth settings show that the the boom speakers are connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth, the app shows none or maybe one of the boom speakers.
This afternoon, I decided to let my iPhone forget all 3 boom speakers. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the Ultimate Boom app. I followed the app screen’s instructions and tried to reconnect all 3 boom speakers. When I went back to the app screen that shows all of the speakers connected to the app, all 3 Boom speakers showed up, but the speaker names were grayed out.
So on the app screen, I turned on each of the speakers. The app showed that my Boom 2’s were connected, but the MegaBoom’s name was grayed out, indicating that Megaboom was not connected.
I decided to go to the MegaBoom’s speaker window. For grins, I decided to touch the party icon. Ha!Ha! The party screen shows the megaBoom is connected. So I touched the appropriate app icons on the iPhone screen to start the party with the MegaBoom speaker and all the other speakers. All 3 speakers started playing.
So a speaker which speaker window of the app showed as being connected is the one which is the central connection for the party.
I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE BARELY FUNCTIONING APP. SHAKE MY HEAD!!!!

The latest update was such a mistake. I can’t use my speakers anymore because the app shows them both as unavailable. This has never happened to me before until I updated the app last week, please fix it!🙏🏼

After deleting the app and reinstalling it the app will launch without crashing immediately. Now 3 stars instead of 1
UE has gone from updates that break features or cause crashes to this most recent update that doesn’t even launch. What kind of quality assurance testing allows an update that crashes immediately 10 out of 10 times?!

I loved it. Updated to iOS 13.1 on the 11 pro max. Stopped working. Uninstall and reinstalled and BOOM it’s back.
Great Speakers. Disappointing app. 3/5
I want to like this — because the ue Megaboom speakers are outstanding. But after several years of frustrating interface with the Ultimate Ears app, I’m about ready to throw in the towel. Ultimate Ears: please listen.
I have updated. And updated and updated. The problem is that the app doesn’t remember the stereo connection of the speakers. Which is an essential function of having the speakers. I can futz with it and get the first speaker to see that another speaker is available, often even by having to re-broadcast the Bluetooth signal, and drag that speaker up to connect in stereo — but doing this nearly every time I play music is ridiculous.
I bought a pair of Megaboom speakers for my mom. She loves them — but has the same trouble getting the app to pair them and just play the music on both speakers in stereo. Actually she has trouble getting the app to just play on the speakers.
I want to love this. I do love the speakers. But after years of struggling with the shortcomings of the app I’m wondering if I can find some other interface that I can control it with.

Loved the party up feature that this app made available to my UE Boom 2 speakers. That was the whole reason I added another to our collection and now I can’t even connect my speaker remotely with this app - which was another fantastic feature available when you had no idea where you last left your speakers. Please fix this ASAP!
I’ve had few problems but mostly fine with the experience 4/5
I own several Boom 3’s and Megabooms 3’s, plus a Boom 2. I have experienced few problems with the app itself. I have experienced the connection issues with the app not connecting/ recognizing the speaker and when pairing 2 or more speakers (stuttering). But these issues rarely occur.
The app and speakers work properly about 90% of the time. Not sure why many people have issues with the app but I do agree that the developers need to step their game up.
I highly suggest making sure to update the app AND speaker to its latest firmware.

Yesterday was an update to the ultimate ears application. Today I cannot get the application to open. Very disappointed. I can only connect one speaker via Bluetooth but cannot use the other speakers that I have. I am having a few people over and was very much depending on these speakers for background music. Prior to this update that appears to not work I have loved the speakers and ultimate ears. I have several boom 3 speakers.

In the store sounded uniquely better then at home. App is frozen telling me to turn on Bluetooth. Meanwhile I already had the device paired and playing. Terrible app, mediocre speaker.
