  • Desktop App Graet - Please Fix the Mobile Version 3/5

    By Keith Heeley
Need to be able to adjust resolution of scans and file type (i.e. PDF, JPEG etc) from Mobile App as you can presently do with the desktop version of the App. Fix these 2 things and the rating will be much higher!
  • Doesn't detect scanner ADS-2000 1/5

    By HayyyWay
The software doesn't detect a Brother ADS-2000 scanner when it's attached by USB, even with Mac OS X Image Capture software can detect the scanner.
  • Does not detect new printer 1/5

    By Savetheunstable
but Mac AirPrint works fine. Printer is MFC-J5330DW Deleting this garbage
  • SO disappointing 1/5

    By McCarrickless
Control Center worked fine before the stupid Apple OS update! This iPrint&Scan program doesn't even have the simplest of functions ie: scanning multiple pages to one doc. I KNEW I shouldn't ever do an Apple update, but I did and now I have a giant paperweight that used to be a scanner.
  • Disappointing Update 1/5

    By CQMoe
I needed to "update" to this program when going to Catalina, and the loss of the ability to scan in a custom size (entering exact height/width in inches) is hugely disappointing! Brother, PLEASE update iPrint&Scan with this feature or update ControlCenter for use with Catalina.
  • Unhappy with App 1/5

    By Always loved words
I have always owned Brother printers. With the Catalina iOS I had to get the app in order to be able to scan. Here I am, middle of the night, been trying for an hour to get the @$#%& scanner to work. It worked at one time... what happened while I left the room?!!! I get a connection error, "select your Brother machine and try again". Doesn't work. I need this documet for my business. Can't get tech support until tomorrow. I put in my model number to search trouble shoot iPrint/Scan. The result: Found 3900> matches!!!! OMG... am I supposed to scroll through them all to find MINE? I'm about done with Brother machines! Out of desperation I had to take a photo of my document and attach it to the e-mail. THIS REALLY STINKS!
  • Works fine with latest Mac OS 5/5

    By On planes
Some people do not like the change. But for simple scanning of documents. This works just fine
  • Device not supported. 2/5

    By Babybluebell
MacBook Air on MacOS Catalina. Then installed MFC-9320CW printer driver and scan drive for Mac 10.15. Installed iPrint & Scan from Apple Store. At the end iPrint & Scan said MFC-932CW "Device NOT Supported!". Very disappoineted.
  • Simple to use 5/5

    By igillenh2o
Downloaded the app, selected my printer, easily scanned multiple pages into one document. No fuss.
  • upgraded to Catalina on Mac. Brother broke all functionality 2/5

    By fatidic
This is such a poor replacement for my previous Brother capability. I talked to Brother several times on Chat; support was really lacking.
  • Lack of important features. 3/5

    By valeravi
Works ok in general, but lack of some basic features: - App can't detect it's own printer/scanner!!! Even Apple OS can detect it, but not app from printer manufacturer!!! Good that at least direct IP address input is present - it work ok with this. - My 2710 does not support automatic duplex. Even free 3rd party simple scan on Ubuntu have resorting feature, so you can just reinsert documnents in ADF and scan other side and then re-sort pages in app. But not this app!!! App ftom manufacturer of printer can't suport scanning double sided documents on non-duplex scanners, but free 3rd part app can!!! Shame!!! - I got error when try to connect Google Drive with app: "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app. This app has not yet been verified by Google in order to use Google Sign in." Really strange for such respectable company...
  • Doesnt Work 1/5

    By minjnubybugvguvibhi
Doent Work with my printer And the old software isnt suported by apple anymore.

    By frustrated with brother
This app is really, really bad. It would not set up on my Mac and the Brother help screens are just no help. Spent 2 days plugging, unplugging, downloading, trashing, changing settings, checking settings, calling IT friends, nothing worked. I have a MFC-J430W printer. Im trashing it and getting something that is NOT BROTHER!!!!
  • Works in 2020 5/5

    By BillDewaldVevo
Look, of course people are gonna drag a scanner app, but I was able to get this going for my ancient J435W, and I scanned something today, and it made a PDF and it looked fine. Thank you Brother.
  • Very Disappointing 1/5

    By Durtaw
This is an embarrassment from Brother. Why would you even put something like this out? If this is the type of customer support we will be getting from the future from Brother, I am out! For those of you in the same boat as me, I stumbled upon another software that works wonders and been using it for the past several months called Vuescan. Check them out I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Especially if this is the junk we will be getting from Brother.
  • brother L2750DW 3/5

    By ice cream dogs
Installed on mac book pro and works great. However there is no icon to work with, I have to keep the app shrunk down to click on in order to work???
  • Worked perfectly. 3/5

    By SpruceGr
At least it did for a hardwired USB connection to an old iMac running Mojave 10.14. When I tried to connect my MacBook Pro, runnimg Sierra 10.12, I couldn't get a wireless connection established, although I can print of the Pro by simply plugging in the USB. Will try to figure out wireless connectivity for my iPhone in the AM.
  • Works as it should 3/5

    By davidvis
Don't understand the griping I'm reading in the reviews. The printer is good and the software is good. It works as promised. I use it mostly for scanning and it does the job. Is there something better out there? Maybe, even probably. I can say it's a lot better than what comes with a competing product (which may or may not begin with the letters Cannon). That set-up was frustrating and annoying. The Brother set-up is not.
  • horrible!! bring back control center 1/5

    By kayjamie013
Brother royally screwed up with this one. Control center was great and ever since the Catalina upgrade I cant use it any more. This app is garbage! I used to able to click a previous scanned file to use that same name in my new scan and I no longer can do that. This app is probably fine if you are using it for the absolute BASICS of scanning but if you require slightly more advanced settings then dont waste your time with this app
  • No option to attach to email when using Outlook?!!!!! 2/5

    By d2drummer
The software works as expected for scanning, however when i went to attach a scan to email, it does not give you the option to select an email client other than the default Apple mail. I use Outlook, please update!
  • Very easy to use 5/5

    By Alzp
I have a Mac Book Pro running MacOS Catalina version 10.25.3 and it worked great. Easy to set up, just downloaded the app, selected the rpinter from the menu, and I was able to scan a document with no issues. I am not sure why this app has poor reviews.
  • Pretty good for scanner software 5/5

    By Marc Liyanage
In my experience all printer and scanner Mac software is not great, so I approached this with low expectations and so I'm actually quite happy with this app. I think it's better than what most other manufacturers put out (I switched from an Epson scanner because the software was so terrible).
  • If you are mac, stay away from Brother!!! 1/5

    By Like2listen2
I have 5 Brother MFC printers and have used them successfully with my macs for years and years. For some reason, Brother no longer wants to support Mac and that's a shame!! This "Brother iPrint and Scan is very low tech--meant for the "once in a while" user, notthe every day user. Im looking to replace 3 of my printers--I'm definately NOT getting Brother because they don't care about Mac users obviously!
  • Works as Designed 5/5

    By rise4peace
Needed to install this app because the prior app used for scanning was no longer compatiable with Calatalina. Installation was simple, setup was easy, and the program did exactly what it supposed to do. Scan documents. Thank you Brother!
  • This is disdusting! 1/5

    By sjfvld%$*)
This is difficult and not user friendly. Who are you pandering to? Get a clue who your audience is- we are all not computer professionals. I am appalled.
  • Version 5.0 is huge improvement 5/5

    By sambug83
Version 5.0 is a huge improvement over the previous version. When I had tried 4.4.0 around the time Catalina was released, it was very unstable. This new version works and is compatible with my MFC machine.
  • Garbage 1/5

    By its_bmo_time
Don't bother with Brother if this is the kind of app they think is okay.
  • useless 1/5

    By jandna
I am trying to get duplex-scanning working and no sign of how to do it. The online documentation is uesless.

so far completely broken lastest software mac does not work at all
  • Worst software I have ever used 1/5

    By Greg i teleport
I just bought a Brother printer and Label Printer and wish I hadn't. The Brother is the most difficuot software I haVE EVER TRIED TO INSTAL. I will never buy a Brother product again because of the bad experience I just had. I am going back to HP. If you want to have some fun, try to find their technical support phone number and see if you can get someone to help you out! I couldn't!
  • Ridiculous that my duplex network MFC has no Catalina driver 1/5

    By IP Attorney
No Catalina support means I am switching to HP. What a wase of perfectly good hardware.
  • Missing features 2/5

    By Thi-cot
While this software works with Mojave, there is still something very important missing: using the auto-loader to scan piles of documents and create a multipage documents. Another annoying feature is the way to save documents, auto-naming would be a great addition with the possibility to choose a pattern before starting to scan. A scan preview would also be great, so guys, stop playing Super Mario Cart and start developing a true scanner software for Mac OS.
  • Disappointing 1/5

    By davziphone
I have used Brother printers for years now and just purched newer MFC and laser printers. I also use Macs and after upgrading on of my Macs to Catalina I could no longer use Control Center. iPrint & Scan does not work nearly as well or have the features of Control Center. I hope that Brother is working on a 64bit version of Control Center. One thing that does not work is that I cannot scan and email a document. One issue is that I cannot select the mail application that I use (Thunderbird) and when I try to scan and email to the default maul application it does not work at all, just give me an error message about not being able to open the application.
  • Nonsense 1/5

    By Dndifbebfi12
The prescan is now disabled, and I cant cusom select a specific area to be scanned. The scan quality has decreased. I'm throwing this printer in the garbage after using it sucessfully for years with this "new" software downgrade.
  • So Disappointed 1/5

    By jeffgebhardt
This worked great until Catalina upgrade. Please someone fix this!!
  • Brother Disappoints 1/5

    By JoBlo1
I have owned many Brother MFC printers over the years. I use Macs and with the latest Catalina upgrade Brother is not releasing a 64 bit version of Control Center for Catalina. Instead relying on this app as a utlity. Well it does not support my MFC device. Won't be buying Brother printers anymore.
  • iPrint&Scan with MacOS 10.15.x and Brother MFC9330CDW 5/5

    By Adam Fortuno
Installation and setup was about 3-minutes. Found my device immediately. I found the product's interface intuitive. No complaints.
  • Incomplete App 1/5

    By RealChlorine
Only got the scan part of the app. The print feature was missing. Running macOS 10.14.5 Is this a bug?
  • Insulting Horrible Sotware! 1/5

    By Bimmerite
I spent a lot of money for a high end SOHO MFC printer and to be given a barely ported version of iPhone software to use it with is an insult to every single customer of Brother. Porting over full featured Control Center should be a given for a PC. With this piece of junk you can scan. That's about it. All the advanced features I used like Preview for being able to dial-in a scan especially for receipts, Selecting the scan area also extremely useful for scanning receipts all gone. I just hope Brother is in the proces of providing actual useful scanning software otherwise I will NEVER BUY ANOTHER BROTHER DEVICE AGAIN.
  • Works great. 5/5

    By randysch
I had some difficulty getting this all set up, but after using several differnt brands of scanners, they are always a little tricky, partly due to the fact they do so much. This even allows you to print or scan from your phone. Brother support has always been GREAT and shines with a great attitude and no rushing to help get things set up. I've purchased several products from Brother and they have the best, most patient tech help I've experienced.
  • Scan only? 1/5

    By JCR2020T
Have a Macbook Pro - wireless printing does not work. Strangely, it worked from my phone but not the computer. And it makes you use an app which has much more limited printing options than the regular Command P setup. Very dissapointed
  • Utterly Useless 1/5

    By drjwr
Open app. Try to select a simple doc.x document stored on the desktop. You have to click "photo." All desktop docs are grayed out. It's a joke app. Just use the mac OS
  • Scan Quality is ATROCIOUS 1/5

    By The dawg2131
The scans are just terrible quality. It would be the equivalent of watching a television program in 480p. Control Center worked just fine. Not sure why they had to get rid of it. Also, no matter what setting I put it on, when I scan multiple pages through the ADF (to make a cohesive PDF), it leaves a solid black horizontal line across the very bottom of each page. Folks, it's 2020 and I have a business to run. Please fix this soon, or I'm getting an HP.
  • Very Upset with Brother 2/5

    By BubbaDean105
I have been using brother ptinters for over 15 years and I am very upset that Brother has not released a 64 Bit Control Center For Mac OS X Catalina. What they put out doesn't even work. Come on Brother, get with it before you lose more Mac customers.
  • Lack of Upgraded support for Scan funciton on Macs is Unacceptable 1/5

    By Ths14
I have several MFC-9340CDW machines, rely on them heavily for scanning. THe failure to upgrade control center for new Mac operating systems is unacceptable - the alternatives recommended are clugy, work sometimes and sometimes not. This costs me lots of time, cuts productivity and leads to tremendous redos and frustration. I will never again purchae a Brother product as its clear I can't rely on Brother to maintain currency of their software.
  • SO much better than ControlCenter 4/5

    By cjbasham
I have 2 printers that're now using iPrint & Scan. It's working great for me, and is so much better than ControlCenter. I'm on a 2019 Macbook Pro running Catalina.
  • I don't know what everyone's complaining about! 4/5

    By CyberChrissy
I was a little panicked when I read all the poor reviews about how the ControlCenter replacement application for updated Macs did not work as well. I downloaded and installed the app and was able to scan a multi-page document on the first try. I am perfectly happy with this app.

    By gregorlee
    1) this does not support the ADS-* scanners 2) it breaks the older "Brother Scanner" app that does support the ADS scanners 3) the interface is terrible.
  • Does not let you copy and paste file name 2/5

    By David K48
Overall, this is a fine product, but we do a lot of scanning where we use the same file name again and again for different files ... the only difference is appending the date. Some of our file names are long and need to be exactly the same, but there is no way to select the old file name and just update the date, or to copy the file name and paste in the file name field. It will not accept a copy and paste. So this is really a pain and not helpful. I'm certainly looking for an alternative. Other than that, which we find very important for our use, it works OK.
