Thieves!! They charged me for 6 months when I only chose the ONE MONTH PLAN! $41/ 1 month. ONE. But if you read the tiny print it says they auto renew you each month even though you selected a ONE MONTH plan. I caught this and asked for a refund to which they snarky replied if i read their terms it says they “can” only refund one month. LOL! I haven’t even signed into the website. Companies making money off of moms that don’t notice the “fine print” will never make it. Shame on you care.com. SMH.

Keeps crashing as I delete messages I have read every 5 messages or so. Deleting the messages is the only way to clear notifications. Reading them doesn’t do anything.

In order to receive responses through this app you have to upgrade by paying a monthly fee that is not cheap. Whether you are in need of a sitter or you are the sitter you have to pay money to get the responses you are acquiring for.
Go to craigslist where it’s free to post and acquire the responses you are looking for it.
All My Ads Get Deleted 1/5

I posted an ad for a live-in nanny which included rent in exchange for hours babysitting plus a pay per house. It got deleted because the rules say money needs to be exchanged, which it was clearly stated in my ad.
I posted another ad looking for a babysitter while on vacation for my kids and my friends kids. My ad got deleted because I apparently broke the rules by letting someone else use my account-which I didn’t-Either way I’m still looking for a babysitter for my kids.
Customer service is terrible. Links to solve problems don’t solve problems, they just tell me to write an email. It takes a representative a week to get back to me. When they do get back to me, they don’t answer my questions specifically.
It advertises background checks but you have to pay extra on top of the already extremely high cost.
I’ll stick to Craigslist and if I really want a solid background check, I can purchase my own and it’ll still be way cheaper than care.com with more information.

I would have gave it 5 stars if we were able to see what times caregivers were available for and if they were even available or active at all. I’ve ran into many caregivers that haven’t been active on the site for months which make searching for help in that direction useless.

Just to off set your one star . I did this because you sound like a procrastinating jerk who would rather spend their precious time telling a few people how poorly you mismanage time and now you can’t figure out which hand you want to use to wipe your tears!

When looking for help long-distance and the standard one or two agencies want exorbitant rates and a minimum number of hours this app will help you get straight to the people who will be providing the services. It gives you the opportunity to talk to people first before ever giving them your home address so that only those you are comfortable with will be the ones coming to your home for an interview.

Care.com is very useful and efficient way of finding a provider. It is cost-effective and safe. I appreciate them because they have been a life-saver for allowing me to find help in my time of need when there is an emergency or if I just need a full-time nanny. This app is so frustrating. I have had a profile before and now that I am looking for a sitter and not looking for a sitting job, I completely understand why I never got any replies. I tried logging into my old account and it would never let me. I tried calling tech assistance and still NO HELP. I finally use my husbands email and get a completely NEW profile. Posted about needing a sitter soon and I’m getting messages from many sitters but I can’t read them or respond to any of them unless I pay 55 dollars. No thank you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APP

This app has a lot of great features and we appreciate the service in general, but the app on the iPhone 7 has a lot of quirks… The messages often do not load and the app often can’t load conversations or can’t find job postings. This can be troublesome when you’re trying to quickly get back to folks that are messaging you, and that is the only way you can contact them initially.

I’ve had weeks of frustrating experience w/u. I’ve been a care provider w/u fir over a decade & while living in several locations.
Now I’m trying to hire a housekeeper myself & u are making it extremely hard. 1st u made me upgrade my care provider acct. but still wouldn’t let me into the other side to find a care provider for myself.
U emailed me that i needed to use a different email & join as a different account so i did that but due to needing surgery i didn’t get my ad posted. I just went on to complete my ad posting & u wouldn’t let me in. I had to change my password - once i did that u still wouldn’t let me in unless i clicked “join” instead of “log in” so now what?! I join again & wth happens to my original 6 month subscription that i already paid fir but suddenly u won’t let me access???!
U need to fix this problem - many ppl both work as caregivers AND ALSO NEED Caregivers, for themselves or family members.

There’s issues with the app all the tine- basically a new issue every day. The messaging is not reliable, its full of bugs, it freezes , I honestly have never used an app that was so poorly engineered.

I started out as a basic user and upgraded to the quarterly membership. I am now locked into payment but have only basic membership rights meaning that I man paying dues and cannot communicate with caregivers. Additionally, I am getting flooded with marketing ads from Care into my email about all of the caregivers waiting to communicate with me about my ad. Seriously?

This app is horrible/s***^. Use this app to find a job did not upgrade to platinum whatsoever, sent message to the parents who is looking for nanny when i open the messages says parents cannot reply until you upgrade it and yes i did i paid $25 and still nobody replied my message. I would not recommend to use and pay this app its a waste of money and time.

I went to Care.com after a friend started working part time for 2 amazingly kind and generous couples hired her for light housework and caregiving. After signing up I applied for a handful of jobs in the first week of the new year. Within a week I was hired and I am happily and gainfully employed. I did not give a 5 star and only 4 as there are a few odd glitches on the site and mobile app.

I’ve written about 10 candidates all of which have said they have taken another career path or another job. They need to update their profiles. It’s a waste of money and time
I like the ease of Care.com however there are a couple issues I find challenging all the time.
1. Under frequency we need to have an option to choose Daily, Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly and so on...in addition to the option of picking dates.
2. Every time I request for housekeeping help, I’m very specific of what I need help with. When I get responses to my post, I assume that the folks have read my request before applying. Several times I find that after the home walkthrough/interview/visit the hourly rate goes up and/or they are not just one person but 2 and each of them have a separate hourly rate. That’s unacceptable!
Follow up is not the greatest 3/5
Great when applicants apply, however, very much a delay and disconnect when following up between the applicants and persons posting the jobs. It’s been such a delay. It would be best if Care.com would consider having live personnel who connect the applicants and job posters where they can talk to each other to expedite the recommendations, interviewing & hiring process.

Please look into hiring a few professional iOS engineers because your platform needs serious help. The app is terrible to navigate and full of bugs. I expect more considering the high $169 you charge annually just to be able to have unlimited messaging and access to caregivers but I have the worst time trying to communicate with them. This is absolutely frustrating and contacting support is just as bad as the app!

Trying to hire someone to come help me around the house at least one time seems impossible. I put an ad out and only one person messaged back soliciting me with their business not what I was really asking for or willing to pay. I’ve messaged many people and I’m still waiting for a response. How long should one have to wait? I thought I paid for this service to be able to hire someone relatively quick if their schedule said available? Very misleading.

Tessa has been a wonderful addition to our family. I am a mom of three kids and recovering from a major surgery. Tessa has jumped in to keep our family on track. She is fantastic with the kids and the kids love her. She is great at helping us keep up with household duties, laundry and dishes, as well as keeping us fed. Knowing Tessa is a mom and having driven with her, I am comfortable having her drive my children to and from activities, even on wintery days. If you are looking for someone dependable, trustworthy and wonderful, Tessa is your woman!

I use care because there aren’t any good alternatives. That said, it needs a lot of improvement. Candidates are not required to keep their profiles up to date which means people seeking help waste so much time. The matching algorithms are terrible. I take the time to check the boxes of times I need and I’m paired with people who don’t have that availability. Overall it’s excruciating to use and yet there are no better options.

Needed a regular housekeeper and posted a job. My complaint is not about the app but rather the quality and unprofessional pool of the candidates, and the fact I paid for the premium service for two months only to end up not hiring anyone. I spent a great deal of time reviewing candidates, conducting phone interviews and in person interviews. I had three candidates that did not show for their scheduled in person interviews and others I was in communication with that suddenly ghosted me. Complete wasted of time and money. I DO NOT recommend this app to find a housekeeper.
Program needs some improvements 2/5
The care.com tech support team needs to make improvements on their website and app. Not always intuitive to use and the small little message boxes are annoying and make it difficult to draft a message. We are thankful for the service, but hope they work to improve functionality and reliability.

Every Nanny job I have gotten has been through CARE. It just works!! Easy to navigate and very thorough.
I feel like this app is supposed to help parents or single moms/dads find babysitter. I don’t think it’s right you have to pay for a membership just to reply to a message. Why let me post my job if for free and let people respond to it but I can’t respond to the babysitter unless I pay $40 for premium services.

I had an interview with this women, that she wants me to babysit her son. I lost my phone i couldn't keep in touch with her. She thought that i did it purposely, she contacted care.com and they wipe me out immediately, no question, no respect for their employees and they don't care. I wish if i can give Care.com under 1 rating.
Beside when i pay for one month , if you dont track them they keep charging you forever that's stealing. I love SitterCity.com, UrbanSitter.com. I am still with them, they treat u nicely.

I had a profile on this site for over 4 years and through out those years, I found 2 long term families during this time period. I enjoyed my first nanny family but the second family was very unprofessional at times so, after a year of our yearly “agreement” we both agreed to go separate ways. I communicated how uncomfortable I had become in the setting due to zero boundaries coming from the parents. The family was so raged by me being online looking for a new family, I received harassment text messages and them tearing down my character. I believe they took it upon themselves to lie about my character and me as a nanny. I didn’t have an issue with this site UNTIL it randomly terminated my profile and emailed me telling me so, AFTER I paid in advance to have a premium profile. The reasons for it being “terminated” were private and the terms of this website could NOT explain why. I followed every guideline and even brought a handful of friends to this site to join and was an amazing nanny. It all came down to parents that wanted control. I will NO longer consider this site for people in the future. It take your money. It’s unfair to the nannies. Why can’t the nannies place a review on the families they have nannied for and why don’t they need a background check for OUR safety as nannies. Never again.
Since the “update” this app is HORRIBLE. I love the idea of the app and have previously gotten hired through the app. It used to be really good and easy to use. Now, it’s such a pain. It’s extremely glitchy, and I have to exit out of the app and restart multiple times each time I try to use it. I’m extremely annoyed with it and hope they fix all the problems soon. It’s been like this for a few months now though.

I had care.com. I paid for one month. I thought i was buying a one month subscription. Then I was charged for a second month. So I canceled.
Never found a babysitter to fit my needs. They were pretty specific so it might have been my fault.... but still. $80 for nothing.
Then a few months later I am desperate for a sitter again. I log on and guess what? It is has been charging me $40 a month for the last six months. BE CAREFUL ABOUT CANCELING!!!!!!!
