Promotion code did not work 1/5
By Lisa l.e.k.
Promotion code did not work and I was charged the full amount
Works but still expensive 4/5
Glad to have a safe place to find childcare
Very hard to use and not worth the money 1/5
Very difficult app to use. Posted a job, however, most applicants were completely unreliable, either not responding to an email to set up initial interview or a fee stood us up for in person and phone interviews. We have not had any luck with this site finding a full time nanny.

Basic gets you nothing 1/5
I feel they shouldn’t even offer a “basic” membership. It only lets you post a job but if someone replies to your posting you have to pay to read their message. Very misleading. I don’t think it’s worth 25 bucks a month. Very disappointed.
Love it 5/5
What a great idea!
Great resource for caregivers 5/5
By Tea Green
I’ve been using Care.com for several years to find great babysitters. Whenever I need short- or long-term carers, I turn to Care.com.
All about money 1/5
I was charged another month after I had cancelled. I tried to get someone to refund me but I don’t get emailed back and they don’t answer their phones. So now I’m out $45 I can’t afford...
I paid to interact with a bunch of scammers. 1/4 of the clientele on this site
Love the service, not so much the app 4/5
Care.com is a good company and a helpful website for families seeking help. However, the app interface is clumsy and when clicking on my jobs, it often loads slowly. The job pause or close function doesn't work smoothly.
0 stars 1/5
Wouldn’t allow me to put my last name which is hyphenated.
Lost Job 1/5
The app lost my job posting I had to delete and redownload
The app is terrible! 1/5
In-app upgrades don’t seem to work. The care.com team kept saying that they don’t see the money I paid via iTunes and that they can’t adjust my account even after showing them receipts. I’ve exchanged emails with a few people who were copying & pasting template answers - it was very disappointing. The reps were telling
me that I have to have iTunes process the refund and make a new payment directly on care.com website and that I should do that on a computer. I am not sure why the in-app upgrade option is available if it clearly doesn’t work? The reps I spoke with said that they can’t apply the payment I’ve processed through the iTunes to my account - which is strange because iTunes is just a facilitator of payments and the money goes to care.com.. very disappointed with the app, the service or rather the lack of service.
I don’t have the faith that if I were to use the site and I had encountered issues of any type that they would help so I will not be using care.com and will make sure to spread the word so other people don’t have same issues
Great service -clunky messaging portion 3/5
I love care.com but their webpage and messaging app is always so clunky
By Kari Q
I have had a slow start & am learning the how to’s. My first housekeeping experience will be Fri morning. After that is over, I hope to give that 5th star to my review..
No longer a free site 1/5
I’ve used Care.com to find babysitting jobs off and on for almost seven years. I recently decided to download again to find a nanny gig for when I go back to school this fall.
In the past I have seen options to pay for a premium account, which helps your profile appear to more people. Makes sense and no big deal, I can still use the key functions of the site without.
Apparently that has evolved to where you can’t even MESSAGE without paying. Like, the whole premise of the site... is to get in contact with families that need your services... and now that requires MONTHLY payments........
So you can go through the whole process of setting up your profile, uploading pictures, writing a bio, and then start applying. It isn’t until you go to the messages section (and idk if this is normal, but my applications didn’t appear here until about 24 hours later?). When you click on one of the applications you’ve sent, that’s where it prompts you to upgrade (starting around $20/mo) if you want the family to be able to respond.
........????? Total bull. Not the Care.com I used to know and love. I’m so disappointed.
I contacted support to request a refund on my background check, since I had just paid for it before discovering all of this. I will come back to this review to update on how that goes.
This website and app is HORRIBLE 1/5
I was so close of finding a job as a nanny. I applied for a job and I had a mom messaged me and we were going back and forth, everything was great and a week later she messaged me and asking me if I was still interested I messaged her back (or I thought I did) and I said yes I wanted to meet her and her little 11 month (probably now 12 months old) but suddenly she stoped responding to me. The message said delivered but she did not read it. This website and app is crap I need to find a job and no one is responding to me now. I had almost two jobs lined up but both fell though. Don't bother using this website or app your wasting your money and time. Find another website. I wish I could give this 0 stars the parents should be forced to pay not the caregivers. Care.com is completely wast of time and has really bad customer care.
I’d rather use something else 1/5
I hate this app but there’s not really much choice. I hate that stupid pop ups keep appearing in the middle of my messages asking if I hired anyone, etc.
I’ll let you know if we do - stop bothering
So disappointing 1/5
I wish now that I had gone another route to find a nanny. I found more serious candidates to puppy sit my dog on Roover.com than to watch my newborn on this app. This is my child! 9/10 people I talked with were total flakes. Set up calls and got ghosted many times. It was almost laughable. The app itself is terrible. It’s 2019. Get it together. Posting a job is difficult. Edits don’t save. Messages don’t update. What is the point! And I paid a yearly amount of ~$150. Such a rip off and now I’ve had to chose a nanny more out of desperation than getting to be selective. You are looking for future lawsuits with your flaky unreliable services because we are talking about caring for children. This isn’t handyman services or law mowing. It’s my newborn child! I wish I had gone another route. Do not rely on this app!!!
It’s expensive and I didn’t need it for an entire year. Just for one time to find the right fit for my family. So I only signed up for one month and it was $40! But hopefully it helps me find a nanny 🤷♀️
Not great if you have vision challenges 2/5
This review is only specific to vision accessibility. I was hoping that a company such as this matching caregivers would have put a little more energy and thought into the needs of their clientele. If you are visually impaired, this app does not work particularly well. However I do like the service!
Peace of mind 5/5
The website gives me assurance and convenience when I try to hire. I like this platform with good information and great candidates!
So helpful 5/5
By Ohemgee girl
This app helped me get over my fears of having people other than family care for my children and I’m so glad I used it. We really found a trustworthy source and our sitter was great for 5 kids ranging from age 9 to 8 months. Thanks Care.com!
Life saver 5/5
I have had so many wonderful people apply for my posted job which was basically an emergency and I am so thankful for care.com!
Filter people available! 2/5
I am spending hours trying to message people. Wish it was filtered who is actually available and who is not!
Kerry , 5/5
A reliable worker who shows up on time even in the worst of weather. She makes time to interact (play )with your animal and leave them feeling happy.
Love this App! 5/5
I love Care.Com and the app! It feels like a very safe way for the parents and the BabySitters/ Nanny’s to connect with each other and find out which families work well together as far as qualities and if the schedules work out for all people involved:)
Over kill 1/5
I’m having to type my information in over and over. Not a fan of your set up website wise
Job postings don’t work 2/5
My jobs don’t show on the app. I get error messages constantly.
By Tayeba Nasreen
There is no way to find if the caregiver is already booked 1/5
If I contact any member they says they not available. App should have a feature where if the caregiver is already booked or not available they should either take them out of the list or mention that caregiver not available
Not impressed 1/5
Almost everyone I contacted was not currently looking for a job.
Several parts of the app don’t even work. Fix your bugs Care.com and narrow the search down to people who are looking for work. Total waste of time and money.
love it. 5/5
VERY BEST resource to find help!
Great app, specially if traveling! 4/5
Great app, specially if traveling! The only thing I wish it would show active and not active users, will save a lot of time for me. Otherwise, it works great! :)
Pay to use platform 1/5
You have to pay for a membership in order to do anything other than view the nannies available in your area. If you have previously been a nanny on this platform, it will not allow you to use the parent hiring side of the app without creating a new account with a new email. Just from the get go, I caution users to use other apps instead.
Might as well just use the website 1/5
The app freezes constantly and doesn’t show all up dated information. Whenever I click on jobs it always tells me my jobs are unavailable at the time. You can’t schedule any interviews through the app, Only message people. You can view whatever you want, but what you can actually do is extremely restricted. I would suggest just using the website honestly, it allows you to actually use all of the features of the site without freezing and shutting down
Do not pay money to these guys. I received no useful information and they kept wanting to bill me more.
So Far It’s a Great App 5/5
Don’t even bother 1/5
Honestly this app is SO POINTLESS. You have to pay to message in order to FIND a job, but no one ever replies. I think that the employer should pay to find us. It’s ridiculous we have to pay and get nothing out of it. I message plenty of families and still get nothing back. It’s just not set up right. It’s a big waste of time, energy and money.
No money 1/5
I’m unhappy with the site at the moment. I hired a sitter from this site and things are going well except she hasn’t received any payment from care.com. I have set up the time sheet along with my credit card information. I hit the pay button and I get an email saying that she has been paid in which in fact she hasn’t. This is a matter tat cause for immediate attention! There is no number for customer services listed on the site and whoever is respond to emails aren’t answering the questions at hand. My sitter has contacted you all in this matter and they respond with Me not approving the payment which is false! I need to speak with someone who can resolve this matter ASAP!
Looking forward to resolving this matter
I hate ... 1/5
Everything about this site, this application, the customer service, this company except the nannys that I found on the site. I mean awful customer service... The site development team should be fired... Nothing really works. Messages are delayed, can't run background checks, customer service is clueless... Blame errors on credit cards. Just the worst all the way around. But I found some nice people who will watch my kid and had good references - So I guess they succeeded there?
Developers: please allow more characters for job posting 5/5
Developers, can you please allow for more characters to be placed on the job postings. There is very valuable information that is preliminary to both the candidates the parents seeking employees. 850 characters is simply not enough and leaves me feeling like I am not able to be up front enough in seeking a good fit both ways.
Additionally, can you allow for employers to place more than one picture. I can see that the candidate they’re able to put more than one picture but I as the employer can only put one picture. It would be nice if the profile picture allowed for a second background picture. Right now it is set up so that whatever is set for the profile picture also automatically becomes the background picture and they cannot be separated.
The site only allows for me to select up to 4 children. I have 5. Are you purposely discriminating against families with more than four children or is this just an over site?
Thank you in advance.
Bad app 1/5
I just downloaded this app and I wanted to create an account, when I got to add my address I got an error saying that I have already an account and that I should log in, which is crazy since this is the first time i download this app. After it sent me to download another app I realize that my wife had an account and probably that’s way it tells me to log in, she doesn’t use that account anymore since the days when she was babysitting are long over. Now I need a babysitter for my son but this app won’t let me create an account. 🤦♂️
I would give zero stars if it were possible 1/5
By lee fh
Opportunist candidates that seek to take advantage of a vulnerable population. No show candidates that are dishonest and unreliable dominant the candidate list. Very sad that these people consider themselves to be healthcare providers.
Hate it. 1/5
If I could give this app 0 stars I would. All they care about is making money and not the sitters or anything else. I can’t apply for jobs, I can’t get a reply for jobs I applied to UNLESS I pay that ridiculous price of having premium. It’s not worth it and it’s not fair at.
TOTAL SCAM!!!! 1/5
How dare they consider this app “free” — it is NOT free! Since when do you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to post and apply to jobs??? What a ridiculous bunch of crap!
Horrible App 1/5
This app is garbage. I don’t usually write reviews, but feel compelled to warn other mothers not to bother with this infuriatingly buggy app. Does the engineering/product team not QA?! I completed the initial job set up when I first joined, and then Care would not let me read or reply to responses to the job posting unless I signed up for the premium service. What is the value of Care if you can’t read or reply to applicants?! Why not just clearly make the app paid from the start? The experience felt like a bait and switch. The app itself is full of bugs. For example, when I tap “My jobs” I continually get an “error loading jobs” message. I can only see my job posting from the Home screen by hitting “view job” under “view applicants.” Even then, when I click into the job and try to edit it, my edits never properly save. The Time feature is the worst. I have adjusted the hours per day at least a dozen times, saved, gotten a message indicating the changes were saved, only to see the hours revert back to 6am-9pm. In general, saving edits to a job posting does not work. The quality of applicants so far is not great. I feel like I was duped into paying and wasted a good deal of money signing up for Care.com only to get a crap user experience and poor quality candidates.
To many people don’t reply!!! 1/5
I spend HOURS sending messages with no reply’s!!!
Waste of money and time.
If people aren’t active they should be deleted! Maybe make the nannies/ babysitters pay to put their names on here to!
