During this time of a pandemic we have had a lot of changes. With that out need for in-home child care became a must. We were able to complete interviews with FaceTime. We followed up in references from applicants and we were able to take advantage of the background check offered by care.com. We found. F/T nanny who is caring and great with our children. Such a relief to have the help we needed!

I wish I could give this app zero stars. I used to love using care as I got many of my jobs off of there and made my living on there. But than one day my profile was deleted and I reached out to customer service and they told me that during their sign up that we acknowledge that care.com has the right to terminate anyone for no reason at all. So other sitters be ware - you have so many reviews and used the platform for years - forget it. Don’t trust care.com. Also sitters - be prepared to receive a lot of inappropriate messages from “gentleman” looking for a “sitter” for kids they don’t actually have. I got millions of messages. So now I use sitter city.com which is so much better and gets a lot more response. Let’s see how many times this gets deleted and how many times I have to repost it. But for real google forums about care.com just erasing your profile for not reason and terminating you forever for zero reasoning.

this app would get 5/5 if it didn’t refresh every single time i did anything! i apply for a job and go back to look for more and it just goes to the beginning and i lose my apt and have to scroll forever to find it again if it would only refresh when i restarted the app or even every like 10 minutes i wouldn’t mind but it’s so annoying i almost want to delete it.
Takes forever just to get one job and the fact that I have to pay in order for people to reply is ridiculous. Also beware of the scammers. Met a lady through here who sent me a fake check and tried to get me to deposit it. Absolute waste of money.
I paid their outrageous fee and have got no ad responses to housecleaning on their site and have even messaged some about their service and no replies! Don’t waste your money on this app and please refund mine care.com

This service is very helpful and the app offers a ton of information. Overall it is a nice app, but it does have a few technical flaws that could be improved:
1. Ability to attach a job posting to a message is inconsistent
2. Unable to “copy and paste” in messages
3. No spell check/auto correct
4. When refining a search you can only choose one option/small specific range in each category. For example you can choose age preference 21-25, but that’s it. You cannot also select 26-30. This really limits your parameters almost too much.

Pretty intuitive. I wish jobs stayed open until you closed them. Sometimes the messaging feature of the app is very glitchy. Also having spell-check for typing in the app would have been nice...

I only made a one month purchase, and it said cancel any time. So after I did a one time hire, I clicked downgrade button and the page shows a green check sign and said we’d sad to see you go. I thought I’ve canceled the membership already, and deleted the app, BUT today, 6 months later, I received a receipt from apple shows a $39.99 charge, and I realized I’ve been charged $39.99 every month for half year long. No receipt from Care.com. at all!
I logged in my account and found the status was still premium, so I downgrade membership again, BUT when I came to my account, it still shows Premium! I did it again and notice there is a small sentence after the big green check sign, said manage your apple premium subscription in your settings. When you click in the MANAGE SUBSCRIPTION Button, it only shows a unreadable codes. So there is no way to change your subscription!

Care.com was a way for me to make money doing something I enjoy, I am 17 and have been on this app for almost 3 years now, I have found great family’s and have built my reputation through care. I had amazing reviews on my profile and it was removed without me even knowing, I was in contact with multiple family’s who were interested in my care for their children and yet I look irresponsible now because I was not warned my account was going to be taken down. I’m really upset because I truly love doing this and I had a parent guardian that was the main person on my account. How is this fair?

Useless unless you pay for the premium membership so it’s a little misleading. So don’t bother messaging people unless it lists them as premium members because they won’t be able to read your message. But once connected, it’s fine.

Very unreliable app. Very unfriendly interface. Crashes unlike any other app I have. Even if it worked it would not be a great design or organization with sorting applicants, responding to messages, etc.

I am seriously disappointed with this service. I signed up two years ago when I needed to find a babysitter ASAP. I knew I only needed it once so I intended to pay for one month. I checked the app a few times after to make sure that I did not have a credit card linked to this account. There was no indication under account setting that I was subscribing and no monthly billing receipts were ever sent to my email. Fast forward two years, I found out that they have been charging me all these years. When I called, all they did was downgrade me (which I couldn’t even do on my own since there was absolutely no indication that I was subscribed in the app or website). I’m obviously going to report to my credit card that this is a fraud. This is such a misleading business practice. I hope someone will contact me about this as billing has been zero responsive.

Tried for a month for my parents, cancelled within a week when I found other arrangements. They kept billing me for 6 months, and I’m still going through the dispute process.
I’d use a disposable card from Walgreens or the like if you’re going to take a chance with these grifters. Terrible business practices. Don’t believe all the ‘5 star’ ratings for this ‘company’. They are most likely reviews from company shills to offset the negative ratings. If you are still skeptical, look online. You have to use verifying information online to leave a review, so company hacks can’t put up bogus “5 star” reviews like they do here.

This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced via App on a phone/website.
They must hire people to pay for these reviews because all of what I read in the “good reviews” either 1) a lie or 2) isn’t going to happen for you if you fall prey to their baloney. After trying to cancel my subscription and it never “going through” I was charged for 3 months after trying to cancel for 3 months until I finally sat on the phone forever and navigated their automated menus. I do feel bad the women had to deal with someone who the app was scamming it’s not her fault she works for an awful company.
Wonder how much they pay people to put these fake “good” reviews up. This was the worst service I’ve ever experienced from any website/app.

I have been waiting to sign up and and soon as I turned 18, I tried to. On my actual birthday, it wouldn’t let me sign up and still told me I was too young. The next day, I tried again, and finally was able to sign up, only to get locked out of my account. I was sent many “error codes” and was told my account was deleted and they could not tell me why. All of my information was correct upon signing up and I have no kind of bad record, so not sure why this happened. Very frustrated and disappointed, especially in this time.

I have used Care.com for years. My account once had me as a “Care Pro” and I had no issues finding jobs. I had several amazing reviews and one bad review. I’ve worked for seven different families over the years who have all become like family and give good reference to me whenever asked. The only bad review I ever got was from someone I had never even met who was angry that I canceled an interview with her due to accepting another job with someone else. My account got terminated out of nowhere for no reason. I have emailed and asked for an explanation and never received one. I have tried making new accounts and it either won’t let me or it terminates the account after a week or so. I have no idea what I did wrong. I love kids and have been a trusted nanny for years. I have a clean criminal history and I’ve never had any complaints from families I have actually worked for. I’m very sad that I can’t get my account back up and running. I would love for someone to give me my account back or at least provide an explanation for why it got terminated in the first place. I have been out off job for months now because of this. I have a baby on the way and we are surviving only off my husbands income..... when I could have been making money doing what I love! I still want to get back into nannying after my daughter is born but how can I do so without my account ? Really bummed and upset about this and the lack of response or willingness to work together from the care.com team. I hope they get it together and treat their trusted nannies with more respect and dignity.

Good app functionally speaking. Could be more filters for searching for Care. All in all a great app for connecting to people, but leaves the Onus on the individuals to screen each other through interaction. Perhaps an optional behavioral questionnaire would add some value to all.

I’ve been using this for some time now and loved it but now that I need it the most, I can’t get into my account, it’s like it was wiped from existence without warning!!! This is infuriating as I’ve worked up a good profile and even still am paying for it??

I travel, and as a result I often have to post a position in a different state. The app really doesn’t like this. It will place the location where I currently am next to the job opening, despite it being in a different state.
Was trying to help out families during this time of quarantine but care.com wouldn't even let me see people's responses without paying for a premium membership, which i'm not willing to do!

You can not talk to anyone from this company. It’s impossible to get any type of assistance.
They lock you out of your account and there is no one you can reach out to to find out what the issue is and how to solve it.
I was on the phone for over 45min and could not get a hold of anyone.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They just want you to pay them so you can message possible families/candidates but offer no assistance AT ALL.
**update: the email they tell you to reach out to them is of no help either! You received copied and pasted responses. I have 3 emails with the EXACT reply and yet not help at all and account still locked.

I believe I was one of the best nanny in my area. I had a clear background check and over +20 great 5 stars reviews and built a good reputation as a nanny that I worked really hard for. After using the app for over a year I did move to another state for a family emergency so I changed my location and I called them about my situation and it’s temporary to find occasional jobs In the area they said no problem but then sent me an email that my account has been terminated and a list of reasons why they might took that decision, however I totally believe I didn’t break any of the listed rules. I called to get an explanation but they refused to give me any explanations. I’m totally frustrated as I still don’t know why my account got terminated. That was my main job and it truly feels unfair to get fired for no reasons especially if you believe you were putting your heart in your job.
