Help! Good so far. But the app crashes everytime I try to update my calendar 🙃
The best!!!! 5/5

Found my nanny. Worth the money in the long run. App could be better!!!!
EXTREMELY IRRITATING! 1/5
The app crashes every time I try to view or update my calendar! I have logged out, force closed the app, restarted my phone, etc. Don’t know what else to do!
Never had luck 1/5
By Tilly C.
I paid for the membership which is pretty pricey. Both of the sitters that I hired flaked out at the last minute, therefore the service hasn’t been useful to me. I almost feel like I’ve been scammed because I paid a lot of money for nothing in return.
The app is really glitchy. Each update seems to include more. When clicking Message in a caregivers profile (after searching for caregivers) and typing, it only shows the first few lines of type then starts to type below the visible space but without scrolling. The Add Job button also disappears. When in my own profile it shows the Job as updated and live but caregivers say it’s not available. In Favorites, the swipe to delete malfunctions, getting stuck and not deleting, then deleting the wrong individuals. Also, people are added to Favorites that I never selected, but that appeared in a previous search. The individuals I did choose don’t all appear. Those are just some of the issues we encounter every time we use it.
Additionally, we have a paid account through my husband’s company and seem to have fewer people see our ad than when we paid with our personal account.
Very convenient 5/5
Fastest and safest way to find a sitter//nanny.
Care.com doesn’t care.... except for $$$! 1/5
Care.com doesn’t care.... except for your money. They block you from direct communications and make it extremely frustrating to use. Try sitter city instead... much better and they are not afraid to get you a free month try.
Convenient but needs improvement! 3/5
I like the app. But for instance you can put a decimal point everywhere EXCEPT when it comes to hours worked. How ridiculous is that! Caregiver worked 8.5 hours and I couldn’t pay her .5 anything so had to pay her a flat rate in order to use the app.
Very well done app 5/5
I truly love this app it has helped find me many jobs. I like how it is safe with your personal information, how well organized it is and how easy it is to navigate.
I am new to this I saw that they had an option to try for a month. 12.99 for one trial month well they socked my account for 259.00 bucks that I can’t figure out how to get back.

I started my fist job with in the first week of signing up to Care.com. I highly recommend using this app.
I like the app 4/5
By re parie
At first it was frustrating but I did get the hang of it and understand how to use it. I’ve found jobs on this site and they have been good so far. I don’t like care.com payment system so I don’t use it. I tried it and my money went through a 3rd party site and was held for 7-10 business days and then care.com held it for 3-5 days. It was complicated and too much.
They care.com customer service was very responsive as well and my questions were answered.
Best to build your profile and reviews to be seen and always ask for reviews. Also get yourself a membership. It works out better
Great way to connect with people when you need help - there’s a better sense of who is in your community. However, it would be so much better if when people write what they are interested in, The date they ride it would show up so you’re not riding somebody who has not been on in a very long time and no longer needs to work.
Updates are crummy 2/5
Super glitchy and crashes every two seconds. Don’t like the new update or that the price is so high.

Can’t even log in 1/5
By Debi Ryals
The app goes right to set up new account. Thought this would be a better option to the wonky web interface. 😢
Not worth it 1/5
I downloaded this app hoping I could make some extra money on the side. I’ve applied to numerous posts with no responses. Al
You need to buy credits to even apply to some posts and you have have to pay the upgrade fee if you want to see messages or communicate with potential clients. I’m assuming this is why I haven’t received any responses, I have the basic free membership. Waste of money.
This company makes you pay to message the nanny you need AND the nanny has to pay to respond. Based on a previous review, someone in need of a nanny had to pay $55 for a one month membership to send out a message and as a nanny I have had to pay $25 to respond to message and cannot even do so from the app because it doesn’t register that I’ve upgraded! In addition, if you were thinking “no worries, I’m just looking for a dog walker position” you have to spend $11 to buy 10 credits and it requires 4 credits to apply to each pet sitter job. This used to be a site designed to help people get in touch with the help they need, sad they’ve gotten so greedy.
I found our first nanny 5 years ago through this app. Tried again and since then not only are the options not as great, but once I was ready to be finished and cancelled in the app (got confirmation emails that I wouldn’t be charged again and everything), I was still charged TWICE. To boot the support team had no answers and accepted no responsibility for it and wasn’t until I got through to a very friendly Apple support member that she told me this happens all the time with them. Do NOT use unless you want to be scammed!
Love Care.com but 1/5
Their app is a horribly frustrating and time-consuming buggy mess. If I had time for that I wouldn't need to be paying for a care.com account. 😂
App crashing 1/5
I made an account online then downloaded the app. The app keeps crashing right when I open it! And now I’m hearing you have to pay to contact possible employers? Not cool!
CHARGED ME WHEN I COULDNT DELETE ACCOUNT 1/5
support told me how to delete my account, but on the desktop site...no such option! so i just got charged $70 for an app im not using. still trying to figure out who to reach for a refund. thanks!!!
Great resource-difficult to pay 4/5
We love the background checks and the resource of people. It has been a problem being able to pay our child care though.
By MEGA AWESOME COOL
The app itself is annoying and buggy, especially in the communication interface. Autocorrect doesn’t work, it absolutely will not allow you to give a phone number, you can’t see the text if you write more than a certain amount (and you can’t scroll, it just disappears). Those are just a few examples.
Care.com has some issues too. We HAVE found a few good (and a few bad) caregivers through here over the years. This year, however, I have found it to be a huge time waster. I spend hours sorting through candidates, write to dozens, and hear back from MAYBE 2 or 3. It’s a huge waste of time and energy. For a service I’m paying for, they really need to find a better way to have people who are engaged making up the majority of the pool of applicants. Very disappointing and honestly, I would avoid if it wasn’t already a last resort.
Really inferior app 2/5
By B3n S6z
The care.com service is great, but the app is pretty abysmal. Here’s just a few of the problems with it:
- A lot of app functionality is just poorly designed and implemented in pretty shocking ways. This is true of their website too, not just the iPad/iPhone app. For example, when I am searching listings and I click to “hide” a person’s profile that isn’t a good fit, then that person applies for my job. Their message in the message list shows up with a red heart icon next to it, the same as ones whose profiles I “favorite.” There are lots of these types of things that make no sense and can only be explained as poor design and build. It’s so confusing that I’ve taken time to reproduce and confirm that it’s not just me, the app really is THAT BAD.
- the iPad app only works in portrait orientation, making it nearly useless on my iPad that I use as a laptop replacement with a Smart Keyboard. And it doesn’t support split-screen. Honestly, if you have an app that immediately flips your screen sideways on iPad, you shouldn’t even release it into the App Store. That’s just SO BAD.
- The visual design and layout are really terrible and confusing. The app is just so hard to use in dozens of ways, such as using very subtle colors for notifications that should draw your attention, and drawing attention to an area that you can only take action on somewhere else.
- It’s buggy. It crashes often, and when interacting with it, there are visual layout problems such as visual elements overlapping the text area into which I’m typing text.
- The app nags me for an App Store rating constantly. I have this feature disabled in my system settings, and the app (like many apps) is disrespecting this preference.
Feeling good 5/5
I appreciate apps like care because they really help you to get off to a good start and be able to help other people
Good app but has bugs 3/5
Good app, but it keeps crashing every time I try to update my calendar. It's really frustrating since I downloaded this app so I wouldn't have to get on the computer...
Extremely buggy 1/5
I just updated and it’s still buggy. I have premium and it keeps telling me people who have applied to my position has closed heir account even though we had just literally sent messages to each other trying to set up an interview. It has happened multiple times with multiple people. I can communicate with people who applied to my position so what’s the point?! Extremely displeased. Not re-upping and will cancel.
I also don’t like how they mask contact info even when it’s willingly given. We are grown people here capable of making decisions for ourselves.
Why am I paying $60/mo for a terrible mobile experience? This app is so bad it’s borderline unusable
Nope, don't waste $ or ⌚ 1/5
Why pay to find a sitter and pay the sitter? Total SCAM
So many hoops to jump thru! Protected numbers, protected references, seems difficult to actually connect with the people who inquire!
So I have had my care.com account since 2013, back when it was free when you were able to upload your background check and first aid and cpr certifications and could send a personalized message to the parents. So now I log back into my account because I'm looking for a new family to work for and now there are all these extra charges for basic things like reaching out to a family are you kidding me?!?! care.com only "cares" about their pockets. Sorry if this became a rant. There are better sites out there nannylane and sittercity are great!!!
Pay to see jobs? 1/5
In the pet sitting category you have to pay 4 credits just to see a job. 10 credits cost $10 so you’re basically paying $4 for a job you might not get. Deleting
House Keeper 4/5

This is a great system, however I think it is ridiculous to pay so much just to *find* someone. I am happy with the results though !
More like Couldn't Care-LESS.com 1/5
Anyone looking to provide care or procure care: do yourself a favor and skip this cold, soulless, apathetic, callous, sorry excuse of a caregiving jobseeker/job-giver connection site. Bottom line is that they do not actually "care" at all about people on either side of the equation, are accountable to no-one, and their corporate image is a wolf-sham in sheep's glossy web-page clothing.
They terminate "members" (caregivers and care-seekers alike) without notice and for no reason, refuse to provide details on what prompted the decision to term, and effectively ban the person for life with no recourse or appeals process (i.e. no way to clear your name if there has been an error/oversight/malicious yet unfounded complaint/etc).
If, like me, you fell for their touchy-feely-warm-and-fuzzy marketing, try a quick Google search for "terminated from Care.com for no reason or explanation", and read some of the thousands of reports of their routine abuse of power in this regard; it is shocking and wholly unfathomable - until it happens to you or someone you know.
With over 14M "members" in 2015, they have a virtual monopoly as the go-to site for this particular market niche, and they know it; so like any typical monopoly: THEY. DON'T. CARE. about being a responsible steward or information/connection broker. It's only about numbers and the bottom line - people's actual lives be damned. If you're not deemed "worthy" by the bean-counters or whatever powers or algorithm may be, you're just tossed like the garbage number you are to them; it's as simple as that.
You may think they're "righteously discriminating" given the nature of the services being brokered, but you'd be WRONG. It's like The Capital from the 'Hunger Games' had a baby with the Erudite group from 'Divergent', who then grew up to get sorted into Slytherin House in 'Harry Potter': uncaring, unfeeling, uninterested, corporate machine.
Actual quotes from termination emails:
“Care.com has terminated your membership. Care.com may remove a member for any reason or no reason; any decision to do so does not constitute and should not be interpreted or used as information bearing on the member’s character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living.”
“We do not have an appeals process for members whose accounts have been terminated.”
“This decision is final and irreversible. No exceptions will be made to these terms.”

I can’t open the app without it crashing, better off using the site on a browser. 6 mos later. Downloaded the update, still won’t start without crashing and booting me
Awful website 3/5
It’s impossible to find anything on this website. I’m quitting care.com because of my frustration.
Care tremendously lighten my load 5/5

I have found energetic, hard working, smart, professional and very pleasant helpers on Care.
Before I discovered Care, I was literally drowning in a sea of tasks that continually backed up on me and I could never get to the bottom of them.
With the helpers I found on Care, I have been able to knock all these tasks out, declutter and organize my house, clear all paper piles and significantly reduce my stress levels.
This has freed me up to live my life, take care of my elderly mother, and do some things I enjoy. The reduced stress and guilt is the biggest blessing.
I also enjoy the girls, they are very sweet and fun. The cost for the services is reasonable and the trade off to buy my time back is the best money I could ever spend.
I am very grateful for Care.
It would be impossible to find such an enormous pool of wonderful help without Care. In fact, it is impossible to find any help at all without such a service as this.
I highly recommend Care.com. Thank you Care!
I DONT KNOW HOW MANY DAM TIMES I HAD TO ENTER MY HOME ADDRESS BUT IT KEPT TELLING ME “INVALID ADDRESS INVALID ADDRESS”. FINALLY I JUST DELETED THE APP AND IM NEVER EVER GOING TO TRY AGAIN!!!!
This app too often disappoints. 1/5
♨️‼️🌠 Why 1star? CAREGIVERS ARE OFTEN VERY BUSY PEOPLE. Please optimize your app for reliability, performance, and WORKFLOW ‼️ This app too often disappoints.
Also .. CareChat .. 99% of your paying users HATE IT. Give us options. Don’t force CareChat upon those 99% who dislike it. READ ALL THE NEGSTIVE COMNENTS ON CARECHAT ON YOUR DISCUSSION BOARDS !!! ‼️‼️‼️‼️😴
Also... Takes a long time for client reviews to show up.
When a client posts a review, it can take many days before it shows up on your profile. Also, with CarePro status, takes many days after you qualify before it shows up.
If you respond to a voice message with a phone call (not via a text message) you will be penalized -- and you can lose your carepro designation.
You MUST always respond with a TEXT message (within the system) to anything that you have received.
Your voice response to a voice call request does NOT count. This is a BUG in their system.
When you respond to a voice LINK with a voice CALL it should qualify as a response, it should not require another extra text response. Lost my carepro status for a week because of this problem.
One more new problem with iOS 11, on iPhones it is very very very difficult to edit your text responses with him this system. It makes it almost impossible to write a text response because the EDITING capability is very very bad!
Also, if you type a response, it sometimes gets flagged with erroneous characters, and it is impossible to edit and fix that problem. This is a very inconvenient system to use.
This is what I'm giving the one star rating. Updated. 11/10/17. 01/09/18.
App is buggy 3/5
The service is expensive but gives access to a huge resource of caregivers. It’s a jungle out there, but this is a great tool to search through it.
The app is just buggy. It says this member is no longer there but it works and they respond online. The app is the issue. Use the website.
Don’t get your hopes up EXPENSIVE 1/5
Seems like it’s a great app for getting a professional babysitting job. But nooooo. $60 for a background check in which no one wants to really hire you unless you have one onsite, $19 for a driving backcheck, and then the cheapest upgrade amount is for 6 months and is $10 a month and you cannot read or respond to messages people send you without the upgrade!!!!!! Money money money. Also I changed my profile picture to a pic of my boyfriend and I smiling together and I received an email saying it was inappropriate and not following guidelines. Hahahaha. Wow. Do not download. Don’t know why this app seems to have a 4.6 rating when most of the comments are negative. Disappointing
First timer 5/5
So far so good. They’ve been very helpful
USELESS unless you pay. 1/5
Used to be great. Now can barely access anything without a subscription.
Waste of money 1/5
Do not waste your time, or share your personal information thinking that they “care” about people. They “care” only about making $20 from a Monthly iTunes subscription renewing (even after you close your account, or not even using their service ! Complete joke! I’ve wasted more time corresponding with them through email then I did even trying to understand how to set up my profile ! Use resources in your own community before apps like these .
DO NOT GET THIS APP 1/5
In hopes of getting small dog walking jobs near me, I started a care.com account and started applying to jobs. But what I didn't realize was that you have to purchase credits in order to apply to anything, so I got some for about $12. I figured it would be worth it, if I earn more than I payed. I applied to three jobs and got no replies, therefore getting no credits returned to me, and I get scams multiple times a week in my messages. Do not use care.com.

I have grown a business solely on referrals from Care.com! I like how they protect me by filtering the customers and letting me know of anything. I feel safe. I have used other companies, nothing compares. I have also referred other people to use Care.com. It’s that good of a company.
