Cast and Count

Cast and Count is the row counter for your knitting projects. Count rows with a single tap – in the app, on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, in the Dynamic Island. Your knitting plan tells you when every increase, decrease, yarn change and pattern change is due, and keeps your stitch count, yarn and gauge in view. COUNT ROWS • Big plus button, minus button for corrections and a vibration with every row • Live Activity: count on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island without opening the app • Cast-on step, target rows and milestones with notes, triple vibration at every goal KNITTING PLAN • Plan increases and decreases in blocks: from row, to row, every n rows, stitches per increase or decrease • An alert in the row where an increase or decrease is due, on the Lock Screen too • Yarn changes with a ball in your yarn's color, pattern changes with 18 presets or your own pattern • Planned stitch count and how it changes, for example 96 → 86 stitches PROJECTS AND PIECES • Back, front, sleeves, ribbing: every piece has its own row counter, plus a total for the whole project • Suggested pieces from sweaters to socks, hats and scarves • A progress drawing of your garment • Resume finished projects TIME AND PROGRESS • Timer with start and pause, average time per row and time remaining to your goal • An alert when a row takes unusually long, in case you forgot to count • Stats with your total knitting time YARN, GAUGE AND PATTERNS • Yarns with brand, weight, color, dye lot, amount and a suggested needle size • Gauge swatch over 10 × 10 cm with needle size and stitch pattern • Import knitting patterns as PDF or image; for PDFs with text, the app shows the pages for the current piece DESIGN AND DATA • Project colors shape the app's design, with light and dark mode • No sign-up: your projects stay on your iPhone, with daily snapshots and optional backup to iCloud Drive • 25 languages with an in-app language picker
