Hotels are hit and miss. You’re rewarded with points from stays but the rewards program is plagued by being set back to the 90s. You can cash your points in for a hotel room or they can chisel you a gift card and sent it to you on the pony express since they don’t support any kind of digital gift cards (not a very eco friendly business plan).
You previously could redeem for digital cards until some ridiculous claim was made about safety or some crap and they abandoned support for it completely. All in all, it’s not horrible, but doesn’t look like it’ll live up to its potential. It’s a shame, cause I enjoyed being a diamond member for years.

I stayed at the Cambria-Times Square 4th July weekend. This was my first time visiting NY. I stayed 3 nights and it was well worth the 90000 points I spent for the room. We arrived around 11:00 AM in the morning and we were greeted by friendly desk staff. We were able to check in early which was a plus to freshen up after our flight. During our stay we were acknowledged each time we entered the lobby. On our last day they stored our luggage because we had a late afternoon flight. The room was clean but not spacious but hey it’s NY. I will return to NY and I will stay at Cambria again. 5 Stars

So this is probably going me of the worst Quality inns I have stayed at... for starters the rates that are charged are way to expensive considering the quality of the hotel.. they are not very helpful when it comes to rates.. I travel a lot and stay at many quality inns and sleep inn and comfort inns and I am usually able to get a standard rate per each night.. not with this location.. it jumps from 129 to 189.. on top of all that my strip doesn’t work on my card.. well their chip reader does not work and they aren’t allowed to punch in numbers so I had to use my personal card instead of business.. oh and you get charged at time of check in not check it like usual. Needless to say I will not stay here again

This hotel appearance was not a welcoming sight. It appeared old & not updated. Parking lot smelled of cigarettes & weed (drugs) at first. We immediately wanted to cancel our reservation with a full refund, but we were denied any refund. Hotel room sink area is extremely small. Shower water drains poorly, shower curtain is dingy in color & appears old & not clean. Bed sheets & cover appear old & not fresh. Room misses the basic amenities such as tissues in bathroom, no signs for door (do not disturb). Walls & door seem old & not updated to appear pleasant. Continental breakfast area is a very small space & closed in (feels like s walk in closet area). OVERALL: Did not want to stay here but was forced to endure this unpleasant hotel. Reviews about this hotel is very misleading.

I booked through Hotels.com for a Quality Inn in Olive Branch, Mississippi. An emergency came up and I contacted Hotels.com to change my reservation date for a couple months later. First of all it took a day to get a hold of someone at the hotel. The desk clerk told the Hotels.com rep that they don’t have authorization to change a non-refundable reservation. Hotels.com said there is nothing they can do. So I called Quality Inn customer relations and they also contacted the hotel and were told the same thing. I asked to speak to the General Manager of the Hotel who wasn’t there and left a message. He has not called me back and he probably won’t! I find it unacceptable for a corporate customer relations to have no power over one of their hotels.
I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card and you never stay at a “Choice Hotel” again and I will tell everyone I come across to not stay at one either!

I usually like these hotels, but do not stay at this one. There are 2 in the area. Stay at the other one! Horrible breakfast - no one attending, food set out once and allowed to sit out all morning . Shabby interior, shabby exterior, uncaring staff, no towels, tv and WiFi not working. No hospitality area. Unclean, unkempt and very undesirable. Not up to the brand’s standards AT ALL. Did not get the usual request to review via email survey so stating it here.

I had it all planned. Use 6,000 points plus 15.00 to stay last night at a Comfort Inn. Using the app, and my choice hotel credit card it was error after error. 8 times, carefully making sure everything was correct. Called the phone number. Oh you can’t use points and cash over the phone. Spoke to supervisor. Can’t use points plus money.
Finally my credit card was charged the 15.00 but still no room.
Eventually paid 77.00 for the room. The app does not work properly. Very frustrating.

We are staying in a Comfort Inn on West Mifflin Pittsburgh Pa. stayed at numerous Comfort Inns over the years. This 1 was most disappointing. No HDTV in room which is hard for the visually impaired. Breakfast was very poor. No hard boiled eggs, no Greek yogurt, coffee tepid, no fresh fruit. This hotels has a lot of construction workers who live here during the course of their contract. They wipe out breakfast supplies yet no accommodations for the rest of the customers have been made. If you are going to accommodate these workers then increase their breakfast supplies. The personnel are the one shining star here. They are pleasant, courteous and as accommodating as they can be. The hotel is very clean and kept up. Another problem is there is no automatic opener at the main door. Very inconvenient for handicap and carts etc. we use to recommend this hotel to family but if you dont fix this stuff we will be staying at the Hampton Inn 2 doors down. It may cost a little more$$ but they have point rewards too.

Be aware that all hotels DO NOT have the “amenities” that they show on their website and app. I wish I would have called the Nashville stadium hotel directly. They do not have an outdoor pool & waterslide as stated on their amenity list. Total bait and switch!!

All I can say about this hotel is that it was adequate. Rooms were clean and appeared to be freshly painted. However, I had a second floor room and there is no elevator. The stairs take you through a cluttered laundry room. I had a hard time getting my luggage up and down. The breakfast area was very small and furniture was old and dated. Would not stay here again.

I am a new member with choice hotels and after having my first good experience I decided to stay a little longer at another hotel through Choice. After driving 12 hours we finally made it to the hotel we chose, it was the first one that popped up around our location so we went for it. Upon arriving it seemed like an okay hotel, the guy at the front desk was short but i wouldnt say rude yet. We got the room key and went straight to the room with being so tired. I checked the bed as I always do at hotels and it had some dirt on the bright white sheet but I ignored it, I went to the bathroom and immeadiately saw pee on the seat. I lifted the seat to find MORE pee then started looking again and realized the floor had big visible dirt spots everywhere as well as dirty spots all
over the leather-like chair they had in the room. I went and politely asked for a new room as this one was dirty ( Room 116), the front desk guy gave us another room ( Room 110 ) and before i even moved anything i checked it out to only find the SAME issues! This one even had a dirty shower to top
it off. Very dissapointed at this point so we call
customer service to find out what we can do. They were very unhelpful and couldnt even discount the next hotel we went to after all
of the issues and it now being midnight and my poor daughter is being drug from hotel to hotel. As of right now i have no refund for that horrible experience and i have paid for another hotel room as well! We are tired, unhappy, and upset at this point. I just want the issues fixed! I was very happy with the points system and the reviews of Choice from the beginning as well as the referral from a family member who uses Choice several
times a month while roadtripping. Im hoping to have this issue resolved quickly. I have taken pictures of the issues and called customer service but was led nowhere. Hopefully

BEDBUGS, BEWARE!!! 1/5
Just woke up to bedbugs biting my face!! I have a 3 week old newborn and am now terrified that I will bring these things home with me! My mother had them as well in her room. Room # 225 & 212!! Don’t stay here!!

Always stay at the Comfort Suites in Lake City whenever I can even though my destination is a bit further south because I tried it out due to its location right off I-75 and it being late the 1st time.I have always had nice, clean, comfortable rooms and there plenty spacious especially when my kids are with me.The price for what you get is wonderful too. Staff is always amazing, helpful, accommodating. Always can relax and feel safe and that’s important to getting good rest at night. Thank you to the staff and owners for caring about your customers. All in all 1st experience turned me into a loyal returning customer.

I have found out through experience that if the app is wrong about a reservation that was made with a confirmation number and you go to the hotel to check in and the app was wrong they keep the points that where used to book the room clearly there mistake but the customer gets the shaft for there mistake very upsetting. We stayed at this Memphis hotel for just one night. The hotel lobby was very old. The room they gave us had the base board carpets hanging off the wall in most of the room. When we walked in the smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling beeping then it fell on the floor. Most of the locking security doors leading in and out were broken, and there were padlocks on exit doors leading out of the pool area and on the pool patio. The security entry door got the pool had pieces missing off of the door and it was not secure. Our door to our room had a bent frame near the dead bolt and once you were in room it was so bad that most of the time if you got in you couldn’t get out. This place was bad. The breakfast was almost none existent and what the eating area was filthy. Don’t stay here it is really bad!!!

I have been using Choice Hotels for several years and am pleased with the room improvements offered by Comfort Inn and Suites. My only complaint is the new version of scrambled eggs in the complementary breakfast. At two of the hotels I stayed in the eggs resembled sawdust. Not sure if it was the product or the preparation but it certainly needs improvement.

i checked in 27 June and left 29 June. A few hours after checking in we had a heavy rain storm. i kept hearing a thumping sound. After checking around roomI notice the window was leaking. I placed a trash can to catch the water clean up excess water so it wouldn’t drip on air conditioner. I tried calling front desk, but phone wasn’t working correctly. I walked to front desk from room 143 to inform them of issues. when I left Saturday I taped notes on water leak, bad phone and light fixtures that are out.

Our softball program was traveling for the Baraboo “Gem City” tournament. We had 7 teams looking to stay in one location and although a short drive was required, we couldn’t have found a better hotel. The staff were patient and responsive. The rooms were large, updated, and most importantly clean. The spacious lobby, pool, and outdoor patio gave us room to spread out and be least disruptive to other patrons as possible with a large group. The rate was more than reasonable. Not a single complaint was heard.....thank you for an amazing stay.

ZERO STARS FOR DISHONESTY
*I used the app for the first time to book a “points plus cash” option. Only, when it confirmed it showed the FULL balance of 20,000 points per night, total of 100,000 points for our 5 night stay. It NEVER once showed confirmed at 6,000 points + $105 per night which I had intended to select. So I naturally thought I chose the wrong option and no funds had exchanged since the confirmation only showed points. So I canceled and quickly rebooked the correct option. This resulted in an excessive charge of $525 to my account for the cancelled reservation AND the new booking. This is a deceptive process to ONLY show the confirmation as points and not show the dollar amount or correct points being deducted. Then you can ONLY speak to someone on Manila, Philippines to try and resolve the issue. After 5 failed attempts I finally spoke to someone in the escalation department who said she would fix this problem. Only to get an email stating NO refund!! This is honestly the worst example of customer service I’ve ever seen. It was a clear error and their system is set up to deceive customers. I NEVER write reviews, but I will continue writing negative reviews until my $525 is refunded and they take back the measly 70,000 points they deposited, which equals only half of the actual money they STOLE! I will NEVER use Choice Hotels and will continue to email until I get to a live person to speak with. I’m disappointed in this trickery they use and lack of professionalism and courtesy.

I booked a room at the Clarion in Lancaster Pa thinking ok Clarion nice hotel right! No, wrong for this place. Not anything I expected. The first room they put us in didn’t have a lock on the door, sink was leaking water everywhere on the counter and found hair on bedside table. Next room at least had a lock on the door. My suggestion to everyone don’t stay here.this place isn’t very nice at all.

I just recently checked into here for a night, first room I walked into, someone had smoked in it when it was a non smoking room..(207), went to tell the very Sweet and Nice Desk Clerk about it and she moved me to another room (215) this one had many issues..
1) Blanket on the bed had a bleach stain on it.
2) one of the pictures on the wall has a crack in the glass
3) has only 1 light switch for the entire room and that’s only for when you walk into the room
4) had to turn each lamp on individually
5) has only 1 waste basket in the room and that’s in the bathroom
6) shower curtain looked like someone took it and wrinkled it up on purpose and rehung it
7) the tub drain stopper is sitting on the outside of the tub on the floor behind the door in the corner
I would have given 5 Stars if there was nothing wrong .. the reason you got a 4 is because of the front desk clerk, she was very pleasant very Friendly was very nice to talk too.. if it wasn’t for her it would have been a 1 Star Rating..

Probably come back and add to this, here’s my suggestion, take your CEO who probably knows how to play golf but otherwise an idiot kick him out. Hire somebody who’s actually good at their job who understands the simple things are important to your customers.

For the most part the app works ‘ but the system is broke sometimes for ordering redemption if gift cards . To me That’s the biggest perk for me not free nights. Another problem I have is when I want to cancel nights at front desk they say I need to contact and cancel threw the choice privileges app . Wich you can not so you have to argue with hotel management to check out early or not check in at all to refund. I wish they offered better privileges to frequent hotel stays annual users . Choice although is better than Wyndham rewards by far the employees actually redeem an get you what you order and dont try to scam but it problem I’m having is getting able to order redeem on app .i don’t want to call and sit on phone .
