Hands down the best (right now) 5/5
Best local (NYC In this case) transportation app out there right now. Recommended (again, NYC, in this case)
Great, but doesn't cater to irrational preferences 4/5
This is actually a fantastic app. The fact it works in an increasing number of cities is just a perk. I'm challenged finding something I dislike about it, but let me try:
It killed my 5S. To the point where a hard reset was my only way to contacting it again. It did this many times.
Oddly, it's quite limited in picking your preferred mode of transportation (not everybody has the stomach for "sling" or the money for "teleporter"), so, say, I'd prefer the overground in London, citymapper will send me out of my way on the tube to save a minute or two.
These are lame criticisms, admittedly, for the most part citymapper is really fine.
Saved my bacon in Europe 5/5
Our Arbnb host in London told us to download this app and it made the rest of our trip so much easier! Must-have for traveling in big cities!
La mejor herramienta para desplazarse por la ciudad 5/5
La he utilizado en Londres y Estambul y ha funcionado perfecto para encontrar las mejores opciones en los viajes recorriendo ambas ciudades y sus redes
Me ajudou muito 5/5
Me ajudou muito na minha viagem a Londres e Paris! Nota 10!

Anxiety Reducing Transit App 5/5
Honestly, this is such an easy app to use. I use this when I’m going somewhere new and when I want the notifications to tell me stop is coming up.
Anytime I hear someone asking around about the train or light rail, I like to go tell them about CityMapper and show them how great it is. This app definitely reduces anxiety when trying to navigate your local public transportation! I actually love this app so much that I have taken the time to write my first app review.
Great map for the trains 5/5
Love this app - use it every time I’m in New York or Boston and never get lost. The only thing is that it’s sometimes confusing to figure out which way it wants you to turn since it’s more like a compass pointing over your location.
Phantom buses 2/5
Gives routes for bus lines that don't exist
Great function, meh phone interface 4/5
This app has awesome functionality. It’s great on the Apple Watch, it has useful phone widgets, but I find the main phone interface frustrating, confusing, tough to navigate and ugly.
Despite my whinging above, Citimapper’s functionality has won me over from “Transit”, albeit begrudgingly.
I traveled like a local! 5/5
I used this app to navigate my way around NYC. It was super helpful in giving me step by step instructions and listed our the stops on the subway to get to my destination.
Non optional if your traveling to London 5/5
This is the greatest money time and sanity saver since cell phones. I LOVE CityMapper in London. Life SAVER!!
Great App. 5/5
I use this app in New York and Japan, and it never lets me down. I only wish I had thought of creating this app first.
Better than google maps 5/5
This app is amazing and always stays updated for the MTA’s constant service changes
Super useful 5/5
I used it at istanbul. It was really really useful.👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 you can see the cost of all ways that you want to go.
the app is functional and easy to use, which is basically all that’s really needed. but then it’s also kinda funny, and you can tell that it’s some cool people working on it
User friendly 5/5
I used this app on a recent visit to NYC. It was amazing. I can never figure out the subway system in NY and this made it so simple. I had full confidence that I was on the right track and got everywhere we need to be on time. Most useful app on my phone.
Read the release notes 5/5
First, the obvious: It's a great app. Excellent UI. Clear and clean.
OK, it's sometimes not quite perfect with tricky NY subway routes — ie, ones with multiple choices where you’re trying to shave a few minutes —but it will always choose a good route.
More important, though, this is the only app where I read all the release notes--the folks have a great sense of humor, and you have to appreciate that.
Helpful app 5/5
Very intuitive, nice design, easy to use, and gets you from point A to point B. Very pleased!
Insanely useful! 5/5
Getting around the city is easier and more efficient than ever with this app! 👏🙌
Useful, intuitive, accurate. 5/5
Great app, grabbed it based on a recommendation for Tokyo but ended up using it in Madrid and Paris. Super.
Good app but constantly freezing 4/5
The app is very helpful - will continue to direct the route without internet - and mostly accurate to the happenings of the MTA however there was an update s while back and everything seemed to become very annoying. The app keeps constantly freezing when I try to find a route before I can press “Go” forcing me to force shut down the app. I can rarely ask Siri to check the commute because there’s always a problem. Please figure this out because I really like this app!
Favorite transit app by far 5/5
By David Mordigal
Works extremely well, with live updates and rerouting across multiple cities and multiple transit systems within the same city. Gives you a lot of different options depending on your preference (mode of transit, total cost, etc.). Highly recommend!
No cities near me 1/5
Bad selection of cities. Nothing near me.
Great for city dwellers 5/5
Walking, driving or using public transportation Citymapper is the best!
Great way to find your way 5/5
Great user interface, great results, perfect share function, love the use of compass while you're viewing the live map, and boy is it quick.
The big guys could learn a real lesson from this.
Necessary App to Have 5/5
Simply amazing! A must have app for all your city navigating needs! Hope more cities are added in the future.
Life changer 5/5
By Very secure
Most accurate app ever! It literally has no competition
Great Commuter app 5/5
I thought I didn’t need this app as I was using google maps, but this is so much better and fun! It gives you all the info you need to compare alternatives and gets you to your destination.
Invaluable tool in London & NYC!!! 5/5
This is the first time I’ve ever taken the time to review an app - it’s worth it! Navigated the subways and trains with ease in both London and Manhattan without issue. Absolutely LOVE this app. To the entire team who developed: THANK YOU!
This app is so accurate sometimes but every so often is so off on bus times. So frustrating when you’re waiting for a bus and the app says it isn’t coming for 10 minutes so you try to figure out a different way and you walk away from the bus stop and the bus pulls up when you are a block and a half away you miss it.
Awesome for travel planning.
It does take time getting used to it, yet you will love it !
Great App! 5/5
Used this on our recent trip to Paris & London; we never got lost, it found everything we wanted to get to, and it offered multiple routes and transportation options. This is a must-have app for large cities!
This app used to be sooo good. It would give mileage and time. Now it only gives time. How I’m I supposed to know how far something is from my current location?! Also. For some reason at certain locations it take you the long way to get to your destination. Also, I’ve noticed sometimes it doesn’t provide all the possible ways to get to a location. Please update.
Best public transportation app ever 5/5
All in one transportation app, tells you all you need to know to get from point A to Point B in many big cities around the globe. I’ve been using it in Tokyo, Paris, New York, London... Real time estimation of your travel time is very accurate, compare to other transportation apps, as City mapper takes into account transit time and schedules. My only concern today: using public transportation in a city where city mapper has not arrived yet! Thank you guys
indispensable !!! 5/5
merci pour cette super appli !
Very cool 4/5
This app definitely covers all methods of transportation. I’m looking forward to exploring it.
Please update for iPhone X/XS/XS Max Interface 4/5
LOVE this app - very reliable in NYC! The reason I’ve been using it over Google Maps is that I can view accurate wait times for the FUTURE and plan my trips accordingly. However, since upgrading to the iPhone XS Max, the button for this feature (as well as Settings and another icon I can’t make out) sits behind the battery, LTE indicator and camera “box” at the top of the screen, so I am unable to access any of them. Please please please release an update in which these icons are positioned lower on the screen!
A priority download 5/5
If you use Public transportation in New York you should use this app. Way more accurate than MTA’s apps.
Must Have App 5/5
Even a Local should have this app! Easiest way in-out from A-B. Excellent app!
Finally and all in one app! 5/5
By Girlie NYC Traveler
Love the app and real-time data. I pair it with my Apple Watch and I am so in the know of my commute. The only thing missing is the ability to view upcoming trains if you’re far away on Apple Watch to plan if I should switch to the express or not. For example, I’d use this functionality on the 1 train at 125th street to see if an express 2/3 is coming to 96th before I get there. I’d like it as a way to meet the express train vs waiting up to 10 minutes for it. All in all it’s a great app and I’ll be forwarding my feedback to them.
Fantastic, intuitive app 5/5
Great app to get around Lisbon and surrounding areas. Helps you with all forms of transportation, and very accurate.
Absolute must-have for any traveler 5/5
By Chinese f000d
I need to start by saying that I LOVE Citymapper. This is one of the best navigation apps available. I’ve used it to navigate through New York, San Francisco, London, Chicago, Paris and will be using it next year in Rome. Citymapper makes it exceptionally easy to determine the best route and mix of transportation and also gives you the option to plan these routes according to time of day to avoid traffic.
Even locals use it to get around the city they call home. Our friends living in Paris suggested it to us prior to our arrival as they use it for their daily commutes. I saw countless people in the New York subways using it; now I’m not sure how many of them lived in Manhattan, but it speaks to the popularity and utility of Citymapper.
I’m really looking forward to the expanding city lists in Citymapper. This app is invaluable to those traveling to the cities they offer.
Perfect for Japan and South Korea! 5/5
I use it every time I visit.
Wow. This is just fantastic. It has everything.
Awesome source 5/5
This apps is great, I use it all the time
An absolute life saver for college students in the city 5/5
I attend college in a major city and the most effective way to get around is by transit. Issue is that finding routes and stops and timings is insanely complicated to figure out. This app is the only reason I don’t get lost anymore and I’ve convinced at least 6 other students to download it too. Thank you!
Wildly innacurate 1/5
By Nikolai Biscov
Don’t bother with this app. Get ANY other navigation app. Consistently inaccurate about arrival times (like 5 minutes off) and routinely doesn’t reflect delays and planned maintenance. Maintenance that has been posted in the subways for over a week. So, if you’re trusting the app and trying to get somewhere, even if you leave early, there’s a strong possibility that the subway station you’re sent to won’t even be in service. So if you ever need to be somewhere at a specific time, leave a half hour early or don’t use this app or you’re screwed.
Good luck 2/5
I used to like this app. Then it started telling me directions for trains that were not running and gave me repeated inaccurate information.. when an app causes your 25 minute commute to be over an hour, you find alternatives.
