ClassTag—Classroom Engagement app reviews

  • ClassTag 3/5

    By mclovin121295
It’s nice to be able to connect with the teacher but the app itself is just all over the place.
  • The app is great, IF IT LOADS 1/5

    By andiegs
The app constantly needs reloaded. I have deleted it and downloaded again, powered my phone on and off (all things I had done before but company told me to do this to try to solve the issue) and still it continues!! Multiple times a day I am told to “reload”. They sent my problem on to developers and they said it’s because they are sending things out periodically so this makes sure it is up to date on my end. I have never had issues like this with any other app. At times when it makes me reload, the screen goes completely white. If this isn’t fixed I am going back to classdojo next year.
  • Great app 5/5

Great app for keeping up with what your child is doing in school. Very helpful
  • I love the app but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for a teacher 1/5

    By Skyftcg
I’m really sad that they charge so much for this app. I actually think it’s a little ridiculous, especially when Remind and Class Dojo are free with minimal ads. I think the concept of this app is wonderful but no way worth $60 at a cough, “discounted rate”. . . their exact words. Go directly to Remind! Do not look back!!!
  • Too much advertising 1/5

    By pow wee
From all the apps teachers have used this is the MOST annoying one due to all the ads. I have no clue if there are any features because all I see are ads. 😝😝😝
  • Great communication tool 5/5

    By Tr3yMan!
Makes communication between teacher and parent a simple process
  • Ads ads ads ads 1/5

    By allnickstaken13
The ads are so intrusive it makes a the app nearly impossible to use. I have complained to the school for switching from class dojo. I hope they drop this app and go back to dojo.
  • Awful 1/5

    By Hfujohn
I would give this negative stars if I could. You get ads in email from them daily in addition to the app being loaded with ads.
  • Ads 1/5

    By KinderStall
I shouldn’t be bombarded with adds to communicate with my child’s teacher
  • Great Response 5/5

    By Gotjipt
Honest people with the best intentions of resolving issues. Great job & thanks for taking care of us in a very reasonable amount of time.
  • Ads are out of control! 1/5

    By timmer312
I appreciate the desire to serve teachers and offer the platform for free. However, the content I get from ClassTag is 90% ads. The ad sits between title and the subject. In a recent email update it was little title, giant ad, little subject, giant ad again. When I view messages from the teacher, the message pane slides off screen because we need to scroll down to make room for ads. The advertising is done so poorly and over the top, I have no idea why I would pay for the product. It leaves me zero confidence they could deliver a good experience.
  • Great app 5/5

Great way to keep in touch with teachers!
  • Most annoying app ever 1/5

    By auraevenstar
Teachers should just email instead of using this gimmicky thing.
  • AD’S 1/5

    By 7_parent
Way to many ad’s! Causes confusion with teacher alerts.
  • Feedback 5/5

Great apps helps allot to connect with the teacher of my daughter
  • Too many ads 3/5

    By Hpynest
I like that this app allows for me to keep up with what’s going on in my son’s class, but there are way too many ads to close out to get to the content.
  • Awesome 5/5

    By sheilafrank
    Very user friendly!
  • Slow 1/5

    By Kc1487
I never write reviews. I hate using this app, after going from class dojo to this, I’m very spoiled. Only using because my child’s teacher is using it. This app is slow, and almost every time I open it, it tells me to reopen to update, but when I try to update, there is never an update. The other times I open the app, it automatically sends me to an outside website. I wish I could completely delete this app.
  • Not App friendly 2/5

    By Ollieoop
This app use to be better. Last year it was simple. This year they jacked it up with log-in social media linking and it signs me out after every use. I can’t “activate” my profile even when I click on “activate now”… The ads get in the way of important information the teachers are posting. I missed several cool posts about my child’s first day. Luckily I did some digging and found them after another parent asked if I had seen the first day of school pictures… And lastly there just aren’t enough parent options to filter through what is being sent to me notification-wise. Super not user friendly. Will be recommending a different app to future teachers. :/
  • Utterly useless 1/5

    By Morrigan92
Doesn’t make sense. The format is weird. There is a bunch of stuff that will never be used. This is the stupidest idea my kid’s school ever had.
  • Amazing app 5/5

    By Jason hates the app
It’s so much better than email. Enough said.
  • Great way to communicate! 5/5

  • Fantastic 5/5

    By Sammi.Ray
Been using ClassTag for 2 1/2 years now! Absolutely love it !
  • Not good 1/5

Not friendly. Ads? On a teacher and parent communication tool!!!!??? Come on. This is the worst app for this type of communication. Loads slowly.
  • Too many ads and useless emails 1/5

    By Shan654321
Our daycare switch from Remind to this App. It is terrible and I would recommend against it. Filled with ads (unless you pay them for a membership) and I get useless junk e-mail from them. Would absolutely not recommend.
  • Love it 5/5

    By mellbell23
Easy to navigate really user friendly My whole family was added to help me with my little ones!
  • Worst app ever 1/5

    By CAshland2020
This app is so glitchy and there are SO many ads. The pages bounce around while you’re trying to scroll and it freezes randomly. Half the time I have to open and kill the app 3-4 times because the app loads to an all white screen after spinning for a solid minute. My app is up to date and none of my other apps are this bouncy. It’s not my brand new phone it’s the app itself

    Great app
  • Scam 1/5

    By letmereviewyou90
It was filled with ads that covered up buttons and words. I said whatever and paid for premium. The ads never went away. My renewal date said invalid and I was never notified of an upcoming charge- overdrafted my account because they made it look as though automatic renewal wasn’t happening and didn’t even show any date. The school barely used this app they insisted they were going to. The entire experience was frustrating. It constantly begs you to donate money and supplies but also said lists weren’t verified by the teacher… bet they were going to not even get supplies to the teachers.
  • Too many ads 1/5

    By BTloser
My wife is a teacher and prefers Class dojo. This app is not user friendly, as a parent all I see is ads and not what I need to see. Class dojo is so much better. Ad free as it should be.
  • Classtag 5/5

    By Jenny577
Wonderful app! It’s so easy to contact teachers with questions and concerns.
  • Terrible 2/5

    By kks33
This app is so hard to navigate and has so many ads. It’s been awful to use and just clogs up my email with junk every time someone comments!
  • Great App 5/5

    By Hip-G
Very convenient and great way to stay in touch with your kids teachers. I can direct msg her if I have a question 👍🏼👍🏼 I love it!
  • Busy 2/5

    By lindsay034
While I believe the app has great features for teachers, it is much too busy for me as a parent. The ads are incredibly distracting and take away from the experience of communicating with my child's teacher.
  • Poor platform too many advertisements 2/5

    By Gerry1985
The platform was shifted to this for this school year and this is by far the worst. I get emails with specifically only advertisements more than school updates. The general school announcement don’t is very small with advertisement being absurdly large. Not recommended app.
  • I wouldn’t use it if I didn’t have to 2/5

    By Shafnitz
This app is what you get when a developer spends 90% of their time figuring out how to monetize an app, and 10% of their time making a usable app. I don’t understand the glowing reviews. Must be from a review farm or something. Every inch of this thing is filled with obtrusive ads. I get it, you need to make money. But when that is clearly done at the cost of any usability, you’re doing it wrong. Be careful you don’t accidentally tap somewhere when you’re trying to navigate, because you’ll be kicked out to one of their sponsors. Conveniently , the screenshots don’t show ANY of the ads you will be bombarded with inside this app. I only use this because my child’s teacher uses it. I would never choose this app/service voluntarily. Even the emails are awful. Do better. I have apps that find a balance between ads and usability. It is possible.
  • Could use some user testing 4/5

    By Azcuenaga
The app could use user testing for functionality. Also the ads are very large and annoying.
  • If you like ads not related to your child… 1/5

    By Heatmiser73
I have received more emails about sponsored products than I have about my child's class that I apparently can’t opt out of even though I opt out of everything. This app is a burden. Will be deleting if it doesn’t get better. Spam emails are the worst and I’ve only had this app for a week. Using the apps free option and in no way would I ever want to subscribe for $4 a month just to not be bothered by ads. I can delete the app and get the same thing.
  • Raised $285 in less than 12 hours. Some of my kids cried!! 5/5

    By Demmita
Love it love it love it, wish I’d known about it sooner. I have. Shared this with every tea her I know! $285 raised in less than 12 hours. Some of my students cried! ♥️
  • It’s okay 3/5

    By bwjunk
The app is decent. I can understand having advertisements in an app that is free but some of the advertisements are placed and worded as if they are requirements for the class. For example there was a Kleenex ad that said something like “Every kid needs Kleenex in class.” Then it had a link to purchase them. If you didn’t read it closely you would think it was a requirement from the teacher or school. I see a lot of those kinds of disingenuous ads that look organic to a teacher’s post. I feel it is very intentional and very deceptive.
  • Kinship/Guardian 5/5

    By CaroleS1961
Love that the school is using this app. Easy to use and I love the connection with the teacher.
  • Helps me feel connected 5/5

Great way for me to stay connected with my sons teacher and find out the latest things going on at his school. Way different than when I was a kid! Thank you.
