Great app for all your tech needs. Awesome product reviews as well as deals!!
  • Stability Issues 2/5

    By Jup A Loop
I like CNET’s articles and reviews, but the app crashes all the time and the automatic videos at the top of the articles are annoying.
  • No words necessary! 5/5

    By BigAlLovePal
  • Closed captions 1/5

    By Chubacha
Why show such disrespect for hearing impaired? Looks like nice videos but no closed captions so no idea what’s going on. After all it’s 2018 and most sites seem to care about hearing impaired Promised CC would be on videos that were several days old but still never on Apple news. Even after several days. This should be a no brainer Looks like developer chooses which reviews to respond to
  • “We’re having trouble connecting” 1/5

I’m getting the error message “We’re having trouble connecting”
  • Frustrated by videos! Need transcripts and closed captioning. 1/5

    By acrisis
Time and again, over and over is cnet pushing videos; but not everybody is on unlimited fast broadband; nor does everybody have the ability to consume audio video content. I like the coverage, but hate the videos. I prefer to read in silence, skim articles, read with intent, skip ... as needed. Instead of waiting around for the video to load, the. wait for somebody to tell a story, have them get to the point in the middle or at the end ... The videos are for the most part not needed and a waste of production time and users bandwidth and time. Oh and before I forget, just tried to watch the Fukushima series ... the closed captioning text is cut off by the stupid slanted design element ....... whomever designed this and accepted this should be fire. Titles, notes, CC are traditionally on tye bottom of a screen. What were you guys thinking?!?! Psps ... Reading the AirPlay two article there’s tons of ??? while my 100/10 internet is wide open Pspsps ... I know one can block videos from autoplay now, still leaves all the other dozen pain points for cnet to adress with regards to content, the stupid design that cuts videos off, ratio of advertising time vs video length etc etc

I check CNET before electronic purchases. This works great
  • Great App, Still Room To Improve 4/5

    By KingDapp
A while back the developers of this app listened to feedback and added a setting to turn off autoplay for videos. I’m hopeful they’ll listen to this one tiny complaint I still have: there’s no way to increase the font size. Maybe I’m just getting old, maybe I just like big words, either way I want to be able to make the font bigger. That complaint aside, if you like CNET then you’ll enjoy the app.

  • Please stop auto video loading and playing 1/5

    By motorcoach-R-us
Stop using our data to auto load videos and playing them in the background when reading. Please also let us slide the videos away when we enter an article. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks.

  • The app keeps crashing 1/5

    By dafwyin8a
I realize I don't have the most modern machine (iPhone 6), but that's no excuse for having a poorly made app that constantly crashes and presents weird bugs. I much prefer reading on my phone normally, but this app makes reading CNET impossible.

Install is a snap. Setting up prefs likewise. Teasers appropriate and to the point. Multimedia options easy to set and modify. Reading-watching mix allows catching up at ur own pace.
  • AutoPlaying Videos are Frustrating 4/5

    By Browskiez
The look and feel of the app is the best; You got it down to be really fluid. My only gripe (there will always be a gripe) is that videos AutoPlay too often. It’s repetitive when the same video is posted on the a different article. I wish if the app recognized through our profiles that we have already encountered that video 2x in the same week. For example, this issue is especially prevalent with articles about 5G updates and videos tagged with 5G. That Detroit Automotive Show? I’d encounter the same video in some cases even though one article focused on GM and the other on Kia.
  • Awesome 5/5

Good way to get your tech knowledge up-to-date!
  • Wrong video plays 1/5

    By StylesC45
The CNET app seems to get worse over time. I have come across many reviews where the wrong video is attached to the article. I get excited to watch a review on product only to start watching a video for completely different product. In addition all the videos have ads, I understand you need to make money but an ad for every single video seems to be a bit much..very sad, this used to me my go to Tech review app.
  • Needs font adjustment option... 5/5

    By Aspazomai / Berachah
Please, larger font size is necessary to senior subscribers. Visual impairment makes larger text options mandatory. Thank you, J. L. Urquhart
  • Keep up with the trends 5/5

    By mzglorybe
Love this app. Don’t hesitate, very useful. Live the product reviews from experts who know.
  • Most memory consuming sloppy app 1/5

    By Realiser123
Worst app from performance perspective probably. Make it lightweight so that content could load faster. No one would wait for couple minutes for an article to load in 21st century !
  • Great site, Horrible app 2/5

    By Ctelder
I have read CNET for years and years, and it always amazes me that a tech site's app is so poor. Too many (and too long) adds, too many glitches. I’ve used the app at least 100 times, and I would estimate that I have had a technical problem about 70% of the time.
  • CC only available in video previews?! 1/5

    By Toj Mora
When you tap full screen the captions disappear and there is no option to enable captions again. This feature is clearly designed with hearing people in mind, NOT accessibility for the millions of deaf and hard of hearing people in the U.S. If you already have the caption feature and the caption files, why the heck would you only limit this to the preview? And even if you were only thinking of hearing people, what if a hearing person wanted to watch full screen with the sound off? It makes zero sense. It's frustrating, to put it lightly, to see yet another well-known company develop an app that comes SO close to being accessible but then crash and burn.

CNET has Been the tech site for years! Love everything you cover during CES
  • Much better, but still one major issue 3/5

    By thalido-mite
The app seems to pretty much work now like it should, so kudos to the devs for resolving the issues. HOWEVER, there is still one major problem: the app will never "remember" what article you were reading when you closed it or switched to another app, and will refresh to the top of the main feed when you come back to it. Huge pain. My rating would be 4-5 stars otherwise. Please keep up the good work!
  • Brutal update to app - was getting better 2/5

    By Rumblebee!!!
Jan 5 Update. Not much has changed for the better. Dropped from 3 to 2 Stars. But on the negative side, articles that were read days or weeks ago keep showing up in the feed. Also, open article and play the video, it’s often like a box of CrackerJack’s, a surprise is waiting for you! I just played a video thinking I was going to see David Carnoy review Pioneer wireless headphones, instead got an old video about an Alexa or Google speaker. I wouldn’t care if the videos were ad free like they were 5 years ago, but this is just deceptively getting readers to watch a 15-30 second ad, kind of sad. Also, what’s the obsession with Asian products we can’t even get in the U.S.? I used the U.S. version, why waste reader’s time looking at an article, only to discover the product is not available here? We are in an era where people are tying to control time using apps, but you waste our one with the issues outlined here. April 29 Update. Wow, no more Brian Tong and Chris M at CNET either. I noticed Chris went out of his way in his goodbye column to mention the former Managing Editor who hired him, but no mention of the current Managing Editor who has overseen the loss of numerous great, former, CNET contributors. Question for CNET. 1) Have the 20 or so great features and reporters been lost to cut cost, or does management actually think the site is better and more interesting today? Before you answer, look at the reviews the last 6 months, not many 4 or 5 stars. BTW, not sure this is the proper place for this critique, but since you no longer allow comments from iPads, this is the place to express opinions. Feb. 19 Update. Raised from 1 star to 3 stars. Progress is being made, especially nice to be able to save articles, and videos are easier to find. Still need to work on some issues below, and also crashing issue, especially videos that crash and make you watch ad again to finish video. FYI, can’t log in on iPad, or at least isn’t obvious not to log in. I've been a loyal reader since I got my first iPad about five years ago. First, they have ended many of their best features like Dong NGO, Bridget Carey updates, the 404, and How to videos. Now they refresh the interface. They eliminated saving articles...great idea...nobody wants to save some articles mid-week and look at them during free time on the weekend, right? They also removed the ability to search for videos and articles. After purging great staff the last couple years, one of the last interesting features is Brian Tong's AppleByte. Wish I could find it to watch in the next couple of days, but you removed the ability to search for subject articles or writer/reviewers. The new interface is nice, but how stupid can you be as a news organization to remove ability to search for and save articles? Sorry Chris Matuszak, I like a lot of your quirky stories, but I'm not going to open every article hoping to see one of yours. BTW, half the articles have to be opened at least twice to get them to load. Needless to say, I am disappointed.

CNET is most always helpful when researching and comparing equipment that one is considering for purchase.
  • The Best App for Tech and CE News 5/5

    By LPMcMahon
My first experience with CNET was when I was going to purchase the Galaxy Note 4. Because of the awesome video, I was able to confirm that it was indeed the size I wanted with the features I needed. It continues to provide concise, up-to-date info in a timely format as well as thoughtful, informative articles on a variety of topics. The best!!
  • Really Very Really So Bad 1/5

    By will this even send?
Horrible. Diagonal line? Why waste screen space? And battery too with white backgrounds? Don’t leave the app to do something else and try to return to finish reading an article, cause your chances of the app rebooting (at least on iOS) are about as good as death and taxes (okay, this has actually improved, but it still happens if you switch to an app that uses more than a modicum of memory). The in the past app handled videos, and photos !!!, way better, to say the least. Years ago you could watch a vid, while reading a different article. Photos and video, people. Seriously?!! Many more painful points to make, but this waste has been enough time to take. It’s a horrible app, considering the size and power of the company from which it comes, and the freakin industry it covers!!! Does anyone test the app??? Sea net, sky net, whatever it is, is for information/specs. You think you can trust their opinions? Update December 2018... Still horribly confounding : ( Was much better years ago, not great, but much better. Ads are much easier to stomach if they pay for a great app. Love getting through the ad on a video that looks like (the image behind the play button being from the article) it’s about the article of interest only to be a victim of bait and switch and realize it’s for something completely unrelated like a blender. At least this review is making a difference. Okay, it’s not : | BUT, now if you scroll away from the white background you can find out what time it is!! That took, what, a year? Is there a way to go back to the app from about 2 years ago?

Same articles show up over and over. They keep getting reposted days or even weeks later. Very stale content and most of the articles look like sponsored content. Nothing good or worth reading
  • Great 5/5

    By Pianolist
I have revised my review from awful to great. They fixed the app so it now runs well on my iPhone and iPad. I enjoy reading the tech news and the occasional great deal offered on tech devices. Update. I still enjoy the app but find it very annoying to use. At some update it was changed so it continues to load data and updates even after you are browsing the articles. The screen hardly ever stops moving. Articles jump from column to column and pages shift up and down. Everything jumps and you have to scroll around to find where you were before it jumped. Hate that. Screen should lock until I ask for it to update. This is on my iPad Pro.
  • Bose blunder 1/5

    By Johnapac
Hey This app is nothing but a sales platform. Might as well go to amazon site. Went to search Bose new sound bar... forget about it. Waste of time. Sorry but marketing took form over function. Disappointed in Florida.
