Hard to replace ...it’s just that great! 5/5
This app is constantly going in the right direction. It’s difficult for me to find one that’s better that offers all that this one does. The pantry organization system, the meal planning, the recipe options, the grocery lists. This app is unforgettable and unique in its own right. I’m staying invested in it for the long haul. I learn something new about it all the time.
Love this but needs more 3/5
By Roxy Sunkiss
I just started using this app and it’s great but I wish it had more. The first thing I would add is when adding meats to your pantry, it would be nice to add to n a unit (example 1 pound, or 1 package etc). I also wish I had access to link my BJs account. Other than adding these features I love that my husband and I can get inspiration for dinners!
What’s the point? 2/5
I tried this app to help navigate our food on hand but there is no way to sort recipes and plans by calories or even realistic allergies. Most of the plans are not complete... they lack basic steps and the calories are not accurate at all. The pantry feature is the only reason it gets 2 stars.
Saves money in the long run! 5/5
I’ve been able to plan out my weeks and really ensure that I’m not tempted to eat out. I have everything I need and it also projects the cost of groceries!
Life changing tool for neurodiverse people! 5/5
If you have adhd, Cooklist is an amazing app.
Adhd brains have trouble with object permanence and this can make it really easy for food to go bad. Also it can be overwhelming for us to plan meals because we forget ingredients, lose the recipes we tried and liked...can’t find our frying pan?
I’ve have to painstakingly organize my pantry and fridge and it takes up so much space to have it all front facing with nothing behind anything just to try and stop food from going bad.
With Cooklist I just scan my groceries in when I get them. I can also customize inventory items instead of scanning them in. I could connect my app to a grocery store app (like Albertsons) and have my items automatically added even. As I use food, I can bump down their quantity percentage by increments of ten.
I can search for food I have, look up recipes that I can make with what I have or look for recipes where I just need to grab a few things.
Each recipe gives a breakdown of carb, fats, and protein as well as calories per serving. There are user reviews and photos. These recipes are grabbed from all over the web so you can still use your favorite recipe site.
You can filter for recipes that fit your specific diet or allergies. You can favorite recipes too.
These are just the unpaid features.
I know this reads like a paid advert but I could actually weep for having this app. It’s amazing.
Outside of people with adhd, I would reccommend this app to anyone who regularly uses the food bank. I don’t have to tell you how hard it can be to create meals out of the food you get from a food bank run and this app is really helpful for deciding what kind of ingredients you’ll have to supplement your food bank ingredients with and not spending a penny more than you need to.
i love this app! 5/5
let me tell you, i never review apps, but this app is amazing. i absolutely love it and will continue to use it to keep planning meals for my family!
Amazing idea and successful outcome 5/5
I have always had an issue with keeping my pantry in check. And usually buy too much of one things and not enough of what I actually need. I LOVE this app and I got a quick recipe for dinner tonight because I forgot what I was planning on making 🙄 mom of 2 under 3 so it’s so nice to have someone thinking for me!
Loving this app 4/5
I stumbled on this app on IG (I think 🤣) and it’s already my favorite app for recipes. I get so discouraged having to buy a huge container of something I’ll probably only use once. With this app it’s so easy to use what I have. Made my first recipe today and I was sooo impressed with what I was able to actually make with simple ingredients I already had at home. This app makes it so much easier to “use what I have” before shopping for groceries again. Makes it easy to make a list of things I may need to get too. Super recommend this to anyone who wants to cook a homemade meal but doesn’t want to be a “chef” 😂
I LOVE THIS APP 5/5

This app is great for anyone especially someone who buys and sometimes forgets what they have or thinks they have nothing to cook ! You put in what you have and it tell you what you can cook ! Simple, fast & easy ! Awesome !! I give it 5 stars all the way !
Loving this app (seriously, it’s so thoughtfully made and SO helpful with meal planning! The pantry feature is a game changer!!!) but I can’t find any function on the app for FAQ or how to ask a question that isn’t answered in the tutorial videos. I would love to know if it’s possible to request a store to add to your list. It’s so helpful syncing up with Instacart... would appreciate the ability to sync with Thrive Market as well!

I’m making it tomorrow!
100% will eat this again!!
This app is the best! 5/5
The shopping list and meal ideas are a huge part of our weekly planning and shopping, couldn’t do it without cooklist!
So close to being perfect 5/5
I was looking for something exactly like this app! I love that I can scan in items I already have (can’t wait until we can add our accounts from all grocery stores to make this seamless!), paste the URLs from recipes I find online and it’ll tell me what I have and what I need. Love the design of the app as well
Amazing app! Saves money and time! 5/5
By Busy Homeschooling Mom
We love this app! It saves us so much money on groceries by using up what is in our pantry. Great for those on a tight budget. And it keeps getting better with every update! Keep up the good work! This app is amazing!
App price 1/5
This app costs me 20.00! I would Never have installed it knowing that!
By Madi Rhiannon
It helps so much with keeping track of everything I have, and what I can make with what I have. The meal planning is also super helpful and I love it. I made my roommates download it so we can all add to the meal plans and pick out recipes and add our own. This is honestly the best app I’ve found for this kind of thing.

I am obsessed with this app! I have a horrible time keeping track of what I have and when things are going to expire. With this I have been able to keep my food costs lower and expand my tastes. The different filters are incredibly convenient for whatever type of food you’re in the mood for. I love the fact that there is an option for when you freeze food and that it makes a grocery list for you to use and updates the pantry. The feature of having it also help you remember to take those items from the pantry is just amazing. I hear about this app from a budget planner who has helped me with so many things but this app is a gold mine. There are so many recipes to pick from and if you don’t have an ingredient it will try to come up with substitutions you can use. Planning meals and staying on budget has never been easier for me and my family. Thank you Cooklist for existing. The chat rooms that offer help are excellent as well. They’ve cleared up every issue I’ve had so far with ease. I LOVE this app.
Great support 5/5

Quick responses from support. Awesome App.
BEST APP EVER 5/5
I am terrible at finding recipes but this app is so organized and makes it to easy I don’t even have premium and this app does wonders it even tells u the total cost of all of your groceries for the store u want to shop at and u can even add your own recipes and it organizes it for u!
Handy, needs refinement 3/5
Optimization for iPad is sorely needed, does not look nice on the tablet displays. Would also love to see a simple list view of the pantry instead of a big gallery of photos for my inventory.
Very useful app, those issues aside. Have been searching for exactly this functionality in a pantry app for a while (ability to create recipes with what is in my pantry). Keep up the good work, looking forward to some nicer UI improvements in the future.
Pretty great 5/5
By Colorfully flimflam
I like how it give you meals ingredients and you can scan what you already have
I love this app!! It’s hard to find recipes that both my husband and I like. This app takes everything I have in my kitchen and gives me a ton of recipes I can make right now. I can add things I have in my pantry just by scanning an item’s barcode. Such a life saver!
Nice app 5/5
I love this app so far.
Not worth it 1/5
Of course, you can’t do anything good unless you pay. Not worth it.
Not bad when it works. 1/5
Does not import purchases from stores. Can not import when I buy anything online and have delivered. Does not import even when I pick up at the stores. Deletes entire item instead of just one repeatedly. Makes bad recipe substitutions. Have to manually scan barcodes and has problems identifying items often. Receipt scanner doesn’t always work either. Good concept but bad execution.
Don’t waste your time 1/5
Don’t waste your time putting in all your ingredients in your pantry unless you want to pay for recipes at the end.
What to eat problem solved 5/5
This app has helped me find things to eat and make at home instead of buying fast food or spending more money. I can just focus on what I have than what I want. Then I can use what I have to make something close to what I want. It feels good knowing that I don’t need to be worried as much about needing to throw away food since I’m doing it less. THANK YOU!!!
Its like having Rosie the maid from the Jetsons! 5/5
This is NOT a paid endorsement..this is amazement at how much easier my life just became. Not to mention how much better I feel being organized and spending minimal on groceries each week!
This app literally tells me what I have in my pantry via barcodes and receipts. It then creates recipes that are keto friendly, or whatever other special diet are on, or are not on, that I can make with my ingredients for the next week for how many people I choose. If I am missing a few ingredients it will put them in a shopping list for me and tell me whether it’s going to be $68.88 at Walmart or $49.47 at target with free delivery from Target for the ingredients that I need to make next weeks meals using stuff in my pantry and the items that expire soonest!
Its like having Rosie the maid from the Jetsons!
I just planned a dinner tonight in two minutes!
Convenient & Saves Money 5/5
Click a button groceries are here and tells me how to cook
Doesn’t do what it’s designed to. 1/5
After inputting all my kitchen staples and groceries in I wanted to check what recipes it shows I can make. More than a dozen of the recipes it shows are missing ingredients from the websites they found them at, among other issues.
Game Changer! 5/5
I used to spend 2-4 hours a week meal & grocery planning, not including shopping and preparing food. Even after checking my pantry against my list, I would forget about items I already had and was always frustrated when I got back from the store to find that I had doubled up on an item. I have bookmarks and saved recipes in all different browsers and folders that I would save and usually forget about no matter how many times I tried to organize them in a useful way. Since Covid hit and before I found Cooklist, I didn’t have the time or mental capacity to do this planning and began eating like a teenager again with frozen meals, instant stuff and the like. My health suffered because of this, but I couldn’t figure out a way to break the cycle.
Enter Cooklist! Since I had to clean out my pantry anyway, I took the time to load all my ingredients into the app. This was incredibly easy, thanks to the barcode scanner and worth that initial set-up time. Now I can browse recipes (which I really enjoy doing) and have a space to store them in an incredibly useful way. I don’t have to plan out my planning time and when to go grocery shopping. Instead if I suddenly have a pocket of time, I can stop by the store, plan my meals in under 20 mins in the car, know exactly what I have at home and make use of what is already there, zoom through the grocery store and be home and unpacked within the hour. This blows my mind every time!
Cooklist has improved my health, stress levels, and has saved me an incredible amount of time. Almost more importantly, it has made cooking at home enjoyable again, a treat rather than a chore. Do yourself and your future self a favor and get this app!
Would recommend 5/5
I would definitely recommend this app if you like to keep your life organized and planned. It’s super easy to use, you scan in all your pantry, fridge, household items and you can keep track of your kitchen inventory. It also gives you recipe ideas of things you already have in your pantry which is super helpful if you’re like me and can never think of meal ideas with things I already have!
So convenient 5/5
I love this app! It’s so convenient and makes cooking so easy and organized and fun
Good concept if it worked 2/5
I downloaded the app after using their website and hoped for good things. I love the concept of finding recipes based on what you have, but it doesn’t ever find the recipes. It just keeps searching over and over, but never finds anything. I gave up after it searched for a very long time and came up with nothing. If this were fixed, it would probably be a good concept.
Good but could be better 3/5
Really wish it incorporated more macro friendly meals.
Great app, except for crashes 3/5
I really love this app but it crashes too often to recommend. Currently I can’t get to the grocery list open without it crashing. Often times it is delayed while at the grocery store. I really hope that it will get fixed and the app would become usable.
Stuck on “Finding recipes you can cook...” 1/5
It never finds the recipes for me lol. What a waste of time, after scanning all my items.
I just started using this. Seems like a good start for me.
Exciting App with Multiple Functions 5/5
I needed a way to keep track of expiration dates for foods. Pleased that the app gathers data from recent grocery trips, and as an added bonus suggests recipes showing the ingredients we have on hand. The app is intuitive and easy to get started with.
The only areas of improvement I may suggest would be to 1) add a gluten free filter for recipes, and 2) not all stores imported my recent purchases as shown in the email confirmation I received. But happily it didn’t take long to scan the items the app didn’t import because of the large food database.
It seems to me after reading the reviews, that the developers are continually finding new ways to improve upon an already great app. This builds confidence, and I plan to remain a loyal subscriber.
Won’t let me log in 4/5
By XxGummy Bear DreamsxX
Every time I’ve tried to open the app and log back in I get an error screen saying to check my connection. My connection is fine and I still can’t log in.
This is by far my Favorite app. PERIODT 5/5
It’s so easy to use, I just made the korean ground turkey rice bowls and it was really good! The portion size made dinner and 2 lunches for both me and my boyfriend.
Love it, when it works 4/5
This app is everything I’ve been looking for in a meal planning app. You can make grocery lists, inventory your pantry, add recipes from multiple online sources and manually and the best part is that all of those functions are in sync. You add a meal and you’re missing ingredients, those ingredients automatically get added to your grocery list. I really only have one problem, when the app glitches out and I can’t use some of the functions so I have to delete the app and reinstall it. So far, I’ve had an issue where my grocery would not load no matter what I did and lately I have been having an issue where the app won’t let me change the starting dates for my weekly meal plans. Just deleted and reinstalled so hopefully that fixes it, but I really wish the bugs would be resolved because outside those issues it is a fantastic tool.
This app is life changing
Waited a long time for this... 5/5
Solid, efficient, pretty amazing actually. Still needs some work, but it’s new and they seem to be workin hard on it. I feel like they’re only missing pieces of the pantry management. As far as deleting items after the scheduled plan date passes. Super happy with it so far.
It’s an okay app but very clunky 2/5
The app is very hard to navigate and I find myself having to switch constantly between my Fry’s app and this to get the right ingredients. And as far as ingredients, literally the first thing I tried to make it didn’t pull the right ingredients from the website. If I have to end up finding the recipe myself on another website why would I pay for this app? Honestly not worth the money for me. I trust myself more doing this manually like I was before.
Unfortunately this a monthly expense of $8.99 or $64 for a full year.. as I try to teach myself to cook I look for new recipes online, I’d prefer to find recipes for free than pay for it.. neat concept though.
Too expensive 1/5
Not listed as a membership. Too expensive for the average person trying to meal plan for saving money.
Love the inventory of my pantry 5/5
I have a hard time keeping up with what I have available to use for a meal. I love how the Cooklist keeps up with what I have on hand.
