Choose your first baby cryptid, raise it by the campfire, and watch it grow up. Then adopt more from your Field guide until all six are part of the family. Cryptid Pets is a cozy virtual pet game in the spirit of the classic keychain pets. Feed your cryptid, play mini games with it, and tuck it in to sleep under a starry night sky. Each pet gets hungry, bored and sleepy in real time, and the campsite gets messy, even while the app is closed, so check in often. MEET THE CRYPTIDS • Mothman, from a starlit meadow near Point Pleasant • Nessie, splashing on the shore of a moonlit Loch Ness • Bigfoot, wandering the misty redwoods of Bluff Creek • The Flatwoods Monster, under a hovering UFO in the West Virginia hills • Chupacabra, in a Puerto Rican rainforest full of chirping coquí frogs • The Jersey Devil, deep in the Pine Barrens (watch for eyes in the trees) HOW TO PLAY • Feed: keep the food meter topped up • Play: catch glowing fireflies with any cryptid, or play your cryptid's own game: – Porch Lights with Mothman: repeat the lantern patterns – Stone Skip with Nessie: skip stones across the loch – Berry Basket with Bigfoot: catch berries, dodge pinecones – UFO Spotter with the Flatwoods Monster: tap UFOs, not planes – Mango Shuffle with Chupacabra: follow the mango under the shells – Home Run with the Jersey Devil: swing at the perfect moment • Clean: sweep up crumbs, leaves and litter before the campsite gets messy. A tidy camp keeps your cryptid happier • Sleep: tuck your pet in to restore its energy while the campfire burns low • Grow: every cryptid starts as a baby in its pajamas. Keep it fed, played with, rested and tidy, and after a day or so of good care it grows up into its adult form, with a little celebration to match. Growing up unlocks a third game for that cryptid and earns it a gold star in your Field guide: – Constellations with Mothman: connect the stars to draw a glowing moth – Sonar Search with Nessie: ping the loch, warmer or colder, to find hidden treasure – Log Stack with Bigfoot: build the tallest log pile you can – Tractor Beam with the Flatwoods Monster: beam up pumpkins and drop them in the crate – Coquí Chorus with Chupacabra: tap along with the singing tree frogs – Pine Glide with the Jersey Devil: fly a paper glider through the Pine Barrens • You can also name your pet! Give each cryptid a nickname by tapping its default name • Tap your pet for a wave and a little heart This game has no ads. It requires no accounts. There is no data collection. Even better, play from the train as it works completely offline.
