I love the app but music stops playing randomly or just crashes, djay pro is a lot more stable. Please fix it, I payed for it but I can’t use it to play music at parties because its really buggy and unstable.

  • Used to be great. Now, not so much 1/5

    By Kaosthirteen
I have dj pro for Mac and I used to have it for iPad. Unfortunately it seems as if I haven’t spent enough money, now I have to pay for a subscription. So much for loyalty. Considering the iPad app I paid for has been removed, in place of something now have to subscribe to. I’ll be shopping for another app to use on my laptop also. They don’t deserve any more exposure as far as I’m concerned.
  • Great potential but NOT USABLE 1/5

    By tpromix
Long time pro user, after several days of use I see the 4.5 star rating has dropped to 1, hopefully algoriddim can take the constructive criticism...because the passion of its DJ’s is what build the company. I really appreciate the update. Looks like u guys are growing in the right direction with the opportunity for performance but to do so at the expense of pitch slider and actually basic djing makes this app NOT USABLE. VIDEO Can’t play our own custom visuals over a song like we can in djay pro. Who wants to watch a loop for 5 minutes? FIX THIS. Also tempo slider or at very least BEND, would be useful, some of us actually know how to mix and don’t use “sync”. Also can’t switch modes or see the waveform easily, so something as simple as setting the first beat cue is a pain unless done prior to dj gig. EFFECTS Sound effect layout is great, but you have eliminated CUSTOM PACKS / SAMPLING using our own sounds. Who wants to have double the buttons when they are just filled with crap from a pre designed pack? IT IS ESSENTIAL TO HAVE CUSTOM SAMPLE OPTIONS. When these items are fixed I will give it 5 stars, it has great potential but seriously worried at the moment. Please help us long time users and supporters not regret our decision. PS with the influx of money I would think u would have faster response time in the web sites support page as well ....been several days without a peep or response on the support pages.
  • I want my refund. Djay2 doesn’t work anymore 1/5

    By Michelin11
Djay2 I purchased years ago is no longer maintained and features don’t work at all anymore unless I purchase the new djay that i would have to pay every month to use. We just got robbed and now want us to pay to keep using the same djay in a new app instead updating djay2!!!!! Rediculous
  • I Want To Like It! 1/5

    By Night Lion
I’m a professional mobile DJ and I used this app primarily. I had high hopes for it and will admit it was almost perfect. It was never broke so why try to fix it AGAIN! Now there’s a subscription? I know it’s not much, but if you already subscribe to Spotify Premium then the last thing we want is to be charged for something else. I guess you have to make money someway. What’s worse, you’ve taken away the two finger auto scratch feature which allows you to scratch to the rhythm when you placed two fingers on one of the platters. My question is, do I have to delete my djay 2 app or can I just continue to use it and not this new one and would it still function correctly? That is the question of the day. Maybe you should strike a deal with Spotify and take a small cut from everyone’s $9.99 Premium subscription then to charge for another subscription just to use all the functions of Djay. Get ready for everyone to move to another app.
  • Recording limitations 5/5

    By scratch parts
Should be able to record when using Spotify. Maybe if using it you can’t export the recorded mix.
  • Still my fav dj app 3/5

    By toprank!!
Wasn’t this app free years back? I remember I add the original version and djay 2. They are still my fav and I’ve tried at least 12 others. After a while I did start to notice the crashing and not being able to save my remixes at all. Would like to get the pro but don’t want to go through these issues again. Still in my opinion the best dj app! Well maybe for casual remixers like me.
  • Say NO to subs! 1/5

    By rustlingleaves
Checking to see if I can download my previously purchased apps. The AppStore has taken a turn with the worse! Now developers remove apps people payed for, and replace the, with subscription only versions. Such BS. Many devs are doing this, it’s getting so bad I’m thinking of ditching iOS altogether.

  • It’s a great app! But the update— 3/5

    By Tokiladoki
After the recent update, a feature I often used was the ability to change the song’s pitch no matter what speed it was playing at. It’d be nice to have that back. Right now you can only play the song at its original pitch regardless of speed or at the pitch of the set, I can’t play the song at a higher bpm and have it at a lower pitch than the original, I miss doing jams like that. Actually that was the only reason why I used this app over eDjing for a while. Buts that feature is gone now....hmmm I paid for the premium version hoping the feature would be there but was disappointed to find that it wasn’t. Eh, I don’t really see a reason to use an app that doesn’t have different features from the competition in general.

I have had the djay apps since 2012. Consider this, the 3 years or so that djay pro has been out it saw no new features added and it cost 20$ and 20$ IAPs for effects. While pro did bring 4 decks, we saw no new effects or useful features. (Where is audio unit integration? Or even just the use of AUV3 effects) Why is that? Either pro was so fully featured that to add anything would be bloat. Or the developers were to busy creating this mess of an app. Many of the issues and bugs of original pro app were left unresolved over years. I’m not sure how the developer really can justify the subscription model to existing customers. All previous owners of the original djay pro should be grandfathered in with an unlimited subscription. Anything less than that is really a disservice to loyal customers. To call this a downgrade is speaking kindly.
  • Useless if you don’t have Apple Music 1/5

    By t_holmes94
Used to love this app but ever since it’s most recent update you can only mix songs from your Apple Music library which I don’t use. Would suggest putting the library that you can search any song on back on the app. Really disappointed.

Now they want us to pay a monthly or yearly subscription service ,after many of us have paid for all the apps iphone ,ipad and mac .
  • Missing features from previous versions 1/5

    By JA-APP
Not excited about the subscription model requiring a recurring fee for access to less functionality and features already purchased in previous versions or new features that are unusable or unavailable on the iPhone. It appears the updated version of djay was primarily designed for the new iPad Pro and not all features are made available for the iPhone despite being marketed as a unified app. The App Store or algoriddim website does not specifically describe which features are only available for the iPad and not available on the iPhone. Over the years I have purchased almost all of the various djay and vjay products for iPhone, iPad, and MacOS as well as hardware specifically designed for djay, but I may abandon algoriddim altogether based on this most recent version release and change in direction. Need Single Deck and 2 Deck modes on the iPhone version. These modes only appear to be available on the iPad. Please bring back the layout from the djay Pro for iPhone app that provided the ability to view/scratch/scrub the zoomed in waveform while also accessing the Cue/Loop/EQ/FX controls. I find it very difficult to precisely set cue points and loops in the new iPhone version, which is something that was very easy to do in previous versions. I primarily need the ability to easily prepare tracks on an iPhone as I will not always want to carry around an iPad Pro, MIDI controller, and audio interface. Please bring back the pitch/tempo/BPM slider in Cue/Loop/EQ/FX view as well. Please also bring back the Analyze Songs option for the iTunes Library since the new Smart Filters are worthless without ability to analyze BPM and key of songs. The new version of the app repetitively crashes when trying to browse an iTunes Library with 5000+ songs on an iPhone XR (iOS 12). I do not experience similar issues when browsing songs using the Spotify Premium integration. Please bring back support for Inter-App Audio and AudioBus. Introducing Ableton Link but removing Inter-App Audio and AudioBus functionality severely curtails many possibilities of using djay with other music production apps on the same device. Please bring back the ability to record from individual decks into the sampler mode with the ability to edit, import, save, and share/export. Also please provide the ability to edit the new Looper mode and easily copy loops from the decks into the Looper mode (post-fader/EQ/FX with BPM sync and key match) to allow for remixing of 48 loops from different songs with the ability to import, save and share/export. In summary this app is becoming unreliable with essential functionality missing and I find many of the new features to be practically useless. I am constantly frustrated when trying to use the new version and often end up using the previous djay Pro app instead.

  • BS Subscription Required 1/5

    By craigcarmean
I’ve paid a lot of money for your software. On my iPhone. On my iPad. On my Mac. Instead of supporting the people who have supported you? You are bending us over by forcing us to pay for a subscription now?
  • Subscription based model 1/5

    By Deejaychrisk
Don’t waste you money. You can’t just buy the pro version. They want to make you spend 10 bucks for the first year then forget that is it subscription based and start charging you 5 bucks a month. How sad that the auto mix feature is behind a paywall.

IMO not for professionals, but it works for house parties. Crashed on me once and BPM analysis is not accurate all the time.
  • The update killed the functionality 2/5

    By Nipsuckle3265
    1. Importing from files in djay doesn’t work anymore 2. There is no fine scrubbing on the tempo anymore 3. When you play two songs together they try and correct adjustments that don’t need corrected 4. Options is now buried in an ad for djay plus 5. Changing key is now way too convoluted 6. What they replaced the old library system with (the recent sessions) is 2 times worse I hope that you can correct these issues because this use to be one of my favorite apps. Now everything got 2x more complex and 5x worse.
  • Not the way to go. 1/5

    By ej6385
I’m cool with streamlining things, but charging to get all features when you didn’t have to in the past? And charging to record a simple mix when that was part of all other apps? Greedy

    - Pitch bend +/- (classic vinyls mode). - Pitch fine adjust option. - Beat jump pad. - Sync quantize size option: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 beat. - Fast trick search. Example: Search: veng lik Result: vengaboys - we like to party Search: guett mine Result: david guetta - the world is mine - Bug: the slip in the FX loses beat synchrony. - Bug: when the key is activated the cues lose accuracy.
  • Bait and switch (updated) 3/5

    By Nightliker
I previously wrote an angry review with one star for this app. I am seriously annoyed with companies switching to a subscription model instead of supporting apps or desktop applications people have already paid for and expected support for. That said, I am updating my review and rating due to the fact that this update is excellent. It’s the best DJ app on iOS. For 4 stars, I implore Algoriddim GmbH to allow for more comprehensive editorial of the beat grid. Bonus points for allowing the user to create new audio files with truncated versions of tracks. Some songs have sliding, evolving, or distinct tempo sections. “Batdance” by Prince is a great example. There’s basically another song embedded in the middle of that track. As a vinyl DJ I understand that skill can overcome these limitations, but as an Apple customer who just bought a powerful new iPad Pro, I want my machine to use all it’s processor power to make my life easier and to free up my brain goo processor for other creative activities (microphone banter, visuals, dance-offs, etc). For 5 stars, make this app compatible with Audiobus technology (like DJ Pro is/was). I would also suggest, if they are receptive, ask Ableton if “DJ” can read .ALS files so that all the warp marking labor undertaken by users can be interpreted non-destructively (ie: without rendering a new audio file). Keep up the good work.

New version took away a lot of features and it’s confusing. Been using this app for years now I’m lost.
  • Dj2 app for iPad mini 2/5

    By coqui519
I have had the dj2 app on my iPod Touch for several years now and have enjoyed the auto mix part of it. I just got an iPad mini and downloaded the app to find out that the auto mix is now part of a paid subscription. Not very cool. It was a nice feature to have which you have taken away. I’m not a dj and I relied on that for my lil get together.
  • The djay I used to know got ruined. 3/5

    By CreeperAngel152
Ever since 2015, I started to like djay through my life and it really worked well helping my channel get better by making good music. Your new app is good but the PRO pay monthly thing is that I don’t like. Is like wasting money every month instead of getting the whole thing in one buy. Is just that is not the same djay I used to know. the PRO monthly thing torn me up, which I don’t know how am I gonna make music for my channel using the visualizer because, of course, of the PRO monthly thing.
  • Djay2 is better. 2/5

    By JammerDNA
I don’t like the interface. djay2 is so much nicer and easier to work with. The new one looks like a cartoon and the tempo “buttons” are awful.
  • Promising if 2/5

I can keep it alive during the automix I have all sorts of problems. iPhone XS Max iOS 12.1.2. Crashes when doing too many back to back skips/stops playing mid song/ doesn’t auto load next playlist when selected in automix it goes back to previous playlist instead.
  • Really? 1/5

Any money paid by myself or any other that bought the pro app and the packs within should be reimbursed and/or credit toward your new monthly rip off subscription
