Dear sir or madam,
I am a paid user of duet and love it. Recently I tried out duet air and it wouldn't work on my system no matter what I tried. I tried cancelling the trial but that didn't work, and today I've been charged $21 for a subscription I can't use and don't want. Every avenue results on an automated refusal of refund. It's not a lot of money but as a matter of principle this doesn't feel right. Could you remedy this please?
What a great app, my old eyes thank you! 5/5
I do not give many reviews on the App Store, and very few 5 star apps anywhere. But this app gets it from me.
I was looking for a monitor to take with me on the road as I use a Surface Pro for work and the screen is just too small for me to do a lot of work on.
In a hotel I will use the big screen tv sometimes but a lot of times I like to have the TV on while I work.
Started looking for a way to use my 12.9” iPad Pro. I have tried a couple other products in the past and been disappointed. Seeing the price tag in a review I was very hesitant, but when I went to the App Store and saw it for half price I took the plunge.
After using it for 15 minutes I knew I got it at a steal. Using it today to work on the road and it is great.
This thing is the way to go. I always have my iPad with me, it works through my USB hub, and it gives me the ability to work with a bigger screen (not a huge diff in screen size but noticeable). I would pay at least double what I paid, so thank you Duet for putting it on sale.
Then, reading some of the reviews I got another idea. I have 4 headless machines at home that I usually remote into. But when something is wrong with the network I need a way to get into them. Run the Duet software and “instant monitor”.
Small minus is there can be just a touch of lag but not enough to detract from the overall value. I do not need that fast of a display, so I still say with 5 stars.
Absolutely worth the money, especially if you have a large iPad.
Duet is fixed and better than ever 5/5
For a year or so I was not able to use duet because of changes to iOS. However the version of duet now available from the AppStore and duet website (for MacOS) are working beautifully. I got rid of an enormous Thunderbolt Display in favor of my iPad Pro and am just as productive as I was before - probably more because I have more desk space and I can easily take BOTH monitors with me when I work in another location, which I do frequently.
Have trouble but finally fixed 4/5
It never connect a iPad to a surface originally. After contact the customer services, problem solved.
This is a great app 5/5
I’ve been using Duet Display for several weeks and I love it. I can connect my iPad wirelessly to my laptop as an additional screen for travel. At home I use it as a third screen. I do extensive online research and writing, so having additional screen acreage makes me much more efficient.
Great App. 5/5
A simple and cost efficient way to add a second display.
Works with Windows 10 seamlessly! 5/5
By Joe Bunda
Ok, I know I make life difficult because I run the fast ring prerelease of Windows 10. When I first ran Duet, it gave me a Windows green screen every time I ran the Windows software. But the developers have been very responsive and even gave me a link to a new prerelease version of the Windows software, and so far it now works perfectly. In fact, the latest upgrade for the Windows software makes the iPad act as an external monitor, fully configurable through the Windows display settings. In my mind, the Duet folks have achieved perfection.
The app is sluggish and most of the time it doesn’t work!
I am truly amazed at the simplicity, speed and ease of use of this app. As a fluke I wanted to see if I could extend my Lenovo x1 laptop to a third monitor (my ipad pro) and sure enough, I could with Duet. But, then the cord kept getting in the way ... Arrrgh then I was blown away yet again by the Duet Air offering - I could now have the same access to my pc laptop, both wireless and remotely.
The app is worth the money, support is quick, knowledgeable and KIND. I’m glad I bought this app!
Great upgrade 5/5
Used Duet for a couple years. It worked well, but after I upgraded to Mojave’s, I lost the ability to use it. It has been a while and I just found the upgrade. What a huge surprise. The functionality is far superior and the simplicity to upgrade and have it work was easier than I would have imagined.
Dont try it 1/5

No customer service worst app ever they even don't reply on emails waste of money and time
I was so pleased when it worked so well right from the start... but then after one day it completely quit! There is no option for contacting customer support, only an option to send them an email, and so far no response or help so I’m uninstalling and hoping for my money back
Doesn’t work. Screen on iPad is black 1/5
Doesn’t work. Screen on iPad is black
Good product - watch out for screen resize! 4/5
I spent the day yesterday trying to figure out why my iPad screen had gone black after launch - the Duet support team was very responsive and tried to be helpful, but I ended up figuring out that I had messed with the display settings and everything worked well after I unchecked the Mirror Screen box on Duet settings.
I'm giving this 4 stars because it was such a pain to get it to work and I think the Mirror Screen logic might be buggy. Seems to be working fine otherwise!
Literally doesn’t work 1/5
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app (on both my iPad and computer). The iPad will lose connection after putting anything on the monitor section, it’s just disconnecting and reconnecting. This isn’t worth $10.
Completely prevents my computer from booting 1/5
Once the apps were loaded, it called for a system restart - and now my computer won’t reboot - it even freezes trying to boot in safe mode. I am out the $10 the app cost plus whatever I have to do to get the computer to respond. What a complete waste of money!
FREE TRAIL COST 32 BUCKS? 4/5
I am using a windows machine and duet did not provide a high resolution multi monitor. So I wanted to try the pro version yesterday and clicked the free trial. Since it didn’t solve the resolution problem I canceled subscription later yesterday. But I received a 32 buck receipt today??? Isn’t that free trial???
Thanks for your reply, I sent an email to the support team.
Not so much a tablet replacement 2/5
Had so much headache out the gate with this app connecting to windows 10. Finally got it to work after reinstalling a few times. I was looking to replace my dated Wacom intuos with iPad Pro accompanied with duet display. I got hyped for the “no lag” and “high resolution” to be an alternative to the cintiq.
First noticed THE LAG. Definitely a lag present. Picture quality was not awesome but exceptional. Accompanied with adobe photoshop having issues recognizing the “pen tablet” resulted with no pressure sensitivity. It handled pretty well with autodesk sketchbook but I primarily draw in photoshop.
Overall a pretty neat app that allows you connect wirelessly through WiFi to remotely access windows and turn your iPad into a touch screen for your pc. But to say it’s a competitor to actual tablets is a bit of a stretch, for a pen tablet owner for 10yrs. I’m hoping the lag and photoshop issue is something I can fix on my end but I’m starting to lose optimism on that.
Programs won’t open on the app!! 1/5
This is so frustrating. Just bought this and won’t allow me to open any programs from my Windows. I thought the idea was to able to use the programs. I couldn’t open photoshop or anything. Not even the web.
Don’t waste your money.
Unusable on PC 1/5
Not much more to say. I wish it actually worked with my PC, but it doesn’t.
Don’t bother get a real 2nd monitor instead 1/5
Doesn’t work very well waste of money
Would love to try 4/5
By AT&T lies
Would love to try air and pro but unfortunately there’s not a single option to upgrade. Looks like maybe it’s planned for a future upgrade. It would be nice if the developer mentioned this instead of leading people on saying there’s a pro and air version when there’s not. 2 stars until you add the planned upgrades.
Awesome App To Get It Together 4/5
Does not work well with my apps and programs but hoping they catch up.
Isn’t worth money, glitchy 2/5
The app is glitchy: every now and then it has issues connecting to the iPad. I haven’t used it for some time because of that. Recently gave it second chance but regret it — with lowest resolution settings the mouse cursor when moved on the iPad gets 2-3 seconds delay which makes it unusable.
Worth every penny 5/5
One word, Awsome!!!
I purchased this application on Monday to be able to use my IPad Pro, latest version to edit Photoshop with my MacBook Pro.
I could not get it to work and since it was less than 24 hours old asked for a refund of the $10.00 and change. The developer offered to help and sent a long list of questions. Since I am very busy I decided that it wasn’t worth the effort, removed the application, and asked the developer for a refund and they directed me to Apple support. I have contacted Apple on three occasions and they have refused a refund.
I called Apple support last night and after listening to my story said he would have to transfer me. I waited eons and no one came on the line.
Moral of the story, make sure you absolutely know this is going to work before you buy as you can not get your money back. It wasn’t really the $10 but the principal of the thing that irritates me as I have two new iPhones tow IPad Pros and now a new MacBook Pro. Since the MacBook is within the return window I am sending it back. If they want to treat me that way over a measly $10 to heck with them.
At to Duet, I have no idea if it is good or not so I gave them a 3 star just to be fair.
Just what I needed 5/5
After researching lots of alternatives for extending my Mac display onto my iPad, I chose to go with Duet Display. I’m really glad I did. Setup was very easy. No problem getting the display to come up on my iPad. Lots of nice options to fine tune the app. I didn’t need the customer support people, but they contacted me right away and I’m confident that if I have any questions, they’ll help me. Thanks Duet, Inc.
Until sidecar comes out, this app dominates!
Works great, excellent customer support 5/5
Duet works great for split screening. When I downloaded I had an issue with jittering cursor on my iPad display so I sent them an email and they got back to me within the hour on a Sunday, which was great. Highly recommend, esp if you already have an iPad and want to avoid buying a second monitor.
Laggy mess 1/5
This program is a laggy, buggy mess. No sound support. Sidecar will mop the floor with Duet and they know it, hence they dropped the price to only ten dollars. So disappointed with my purchase. Wish Apple would refund me, but they say they can't. Hope you enjoy my ten dollars jerks 🤬
Great App For external monitor 5/5
I found myself and my Surface stuck in a hotel room recently needing to do some intense work. I am used to two large monitors. I looked for an app that would work with windows. I found Duet. Set up was very easy and using my iPad as an external monitor was seamless. Great solution.
Great App, Great Support 5/5
By Satisfied Support
I LOVE this app. I don’t use it all the time but it’s a life saver when I have real work to do outside of the office and need two screens.
Even better when I recently had some trouble using my iPad as a second screen with my personal laptop the support from Duet was ASTOUNDING! I emailed my problem and had a response within an hour. Fewer than three hours later, after a few back-and-forth emails, the problem was solved and everything is working great again.
100% recommend this app.
Works exactly as advertised 5/5
This has been an excellent addition to my productivity apps. I can now use my iPad Pro as a second monitor! Due to building management issues, we could not access our large monitors, so this has been the best workaround without having to buy any bulky screen add-ons.
Great app but be sure to have a quality USB cable. 5/5
Be sure you have a good cable or you may run into problems. With a good cable it works flawlessly.
Great Ap 5/5
Works great with my MacBook Pro.
Surprisingly Effective 4/5
After uninstalling and missing a few updates, I thought I might reconsider using the Duet Display Pro app to assist with a few current projects. Replacing my Wacom tablet was not a viable option for me due to budget constraints. I have to admit I was quite surprised to see how much the Duet Display Pro app had improved as far as functionality. Previously the pressure sensitivity was not stable enough for my needs and it felt clunky, very slow and cumbersome. Now it is as smooth as silk. The pressure sensitivity is very on point as well. Since I am using the pro version, it also allows me to connect to the desktop wirelessly. So now when I need to work with certain animation and drawing applications, I don’t need to be chained to my desktop computer. Although it is still not as responsive as I would like regarding speed, considering that I can work in a mobile capacity, have accurate pressure response and I don’t have to fork out 2k+ for another Wacom, this suits me just fine.
Looking forward to what future updates will bring to the table.
I high recommend purchasing the Duet Display Pro app.
Great productivity app 5/5
If you travel with a laptop and iPad this app comes in super handy. I always use at least 2 screens for my work. When I travel I feel like I loose productivity with just the one screen. Duet allows me to add a 2nd screen to get back to being more efficient.
The original download wasn’t connecting. I reached out to the support team and Fernando was able to provide an alternative process to work around the launching issue within a day. Thanks for the awesome support.
Doesn’t work on windows 10 5/5
Lag issue with windows 10 3/5
I purchased the app so I can use my iPad Air 3 as a drawing tablet on my pc and each stroke lags, and performance gets low. I’ve heard it’s been a problem for a while but thankfully it hasn’t been as awful, just minor but irksome. By any chance is it still being worked on and are we gonna see any major update anytime soon?
So far the app is very convenient for what I need and the display is really solid. It’s just the lag that’s inconvenient. I really do hope it gets fixed
Practical, Logical, Excellent Productivity Tool! 5/5
By UCB Big D
I travel a lot, and while I have multiple monitors at work, and in my home office, when I’m on the road, the little laptop screen is a real challenge. Duet is the perfect answer! It’s screen may have a few more square inches than my laptop, and it works like a champ! What is really amazing is that my laptop is not touch screen, which I was used to with my previous firm. When an application is up on the iPad (I have an iPad Pro 2018 version), it works like a touchscreen!
This is a real productivity enhancer, a very logical project, nicely priced, and it is easy to set up! Well worth every penny!
Catalina will,do what this does but for free. 1/5
I tried to like this app but it just has been glitchy and has required an adapter to connect without cables. Regret buying
Simply does not work with windows 10 1/5
If you are thinking of using it for windows 10 don’t bother to buy it. It is laggy and unbearable. I am using it with a Surface Book 2 15 inch amd it just does not work! Do not waste your money.
silly installation way 1/5
when I install the Duet on my PC, it restart my system without any notification, which destroyed my documents in the day. Still stuck in the installation process now.
Best thing that happened to my Mac and IPad 5/5
By Rodrigo GH
I’m a heavy user of my Mac and external monitors. I discovered the tool, added my iPad as a display and now I have a great third monitor with touchscreen capabilities, display the Touch Bar in the screen and add annotations with the iPencil.
Best investment ever!
Decent software but 1/5
They continue to try to make you buy more and more give me choice and I would not give this company a penny!
What they do is have you purchase the application and then you find out to really use it you have to pay them monthly making it a SaS and not a purchased application they should make this very clear!
Not worth to purchase 1/5
This program is extremely laggy! I used it to pair my iPad Pro with MacBook Pro, it was basically not acceptable. You have resolution option，when you choose ~1080p resolution, the content displayed on your iPad Pro will be super slow; even with the lowest resolution, it is still laggy to the extent that I could not use it. So don’t waste your money on this.
Fast customer service 4/5
Very quick turnaround diagnosing when I have an issue. Has it resolved in less than an hour.
Application Performance 1/5
While the clarity is acceptable the performance is very poor. I have an iPad 9.7 inch pro. So I don’t believe it to be an issues with the device
Great app, does exactly what it's supposed to do 5/5
By Dokka Bill
Love having the ability to have a second screen when I'm away from my desktop. Duet was easy to set up initially, even easier to use routinely. Highly recommend.
