I love using Rakuten but I feel like I miss out on some cash back opportunities because I can never find the in-store cash back section in the app. Before the layout was changed it was easy to find and link credit/debit cards in the app. Now I have to access it through an email. Why isn’t the in-store cash back section easily seen?
What a concept. Free money for things I’m buying. Why isn’t everyone on here? Lol
Its a hit or miss, few stores I've successfully completed my purchases, while some i can only browse and can't go beyond that. Rebates seem ok, depending on what you buy and if its on their double cash back offers is when you get a really good deal, but you do have to monitor your account as its looks like you dont get much back on the larger amount items you buy. 🤷🏼♀️

When in sites the app freezes, doesn’t load all products and it makes it very difficult to shop. This is across not just one but many different participating stores.

I’ve been using this application for a while now. It gives me my cash back no problem but what’s been very frustrating is using the app. I thought it was my phone being slow but when I log into my accounts to purchase items on Safari it logs me in right away. While using the application, on several occasions it has been slow and freezes. It’s been like this for several weeks now, where I’m getting to the point of not being able to use it. If it continues, I’m just gonna wait for my $$ and not use it anymore.

I have been a loyal Ebates customer for over 10 years. The app used to work great. Now, after changing to Rakuten, it freezes constantly. One session may require 10 times to shut the app and restart. So frustrating!

They promote that they give cash back. They don’t. They promoted cashback for referring people. I referred a ton of people and haven’t received anything. Referred friends and family haven’t received either. Great scheme to attract more emails. Customer service doesn’t reply.

I will never recommend or buy anything from Rakuten again until I received my cash back.
I am an old customer of Ebates and now Rakuten. I never have any issue with Ebates. I just recently purchased some items from Gilt City and spent about $2300 and Rakuten offering 15% cash back(about $400) . About 2 or 3 days after I purchased I went back to check for my cash back n it was not there. So I contacted the customer service n they said that I have two accounts, so they merged the two to one account. And Asked me to email them the order numbers and the amount. They said this will fix the problem but I have to allow it a few days. So I did, a week later I still didn’t see my cash back. I contact them once again, I spoke to the customer service and now they said that the order have not clear because it was not shipped out yet. I have to wait until it shipped. And they are not sure if will get the cash back because Thy have to wait for The store to respond back to them. And they tell me to call the store n so I did. Gilt City customer service said they have nothing to do with Rakuten, Rakuten offer the cash back. So, I got pushed back and forth . Now I feel like I have been cheated and Rakuten stole my money.

Don’t bother trying to use the app to make purchases. It is painfully slow if it manages to load a page at all. There is literally no point to having this app since you can accomplish nothing with it.

App works well but is missing the ability to view balance in amex points format. Shows $0.00 for me when in reality I do have a balance but in Membership Rewards payouts

They stopped giving cash back on Amazon, EBay, Joann, and some others, these are the most places I’ve ever shop at.
Same with my husband, his on line shopping is Amazon.

This app used to have Amazon, but they stopped allowing cash back for Amazon, which is sad because I shop on amazon the most. I don’t do a lot of online shopping, but the most cash back I’ve gotten was like $30 something. It might not be much, but it’s something.

App won’t let me add to my cart or process my order. When I try to add something to my cart the app buffers continuously. When I try to check out or apply a promotion code it kicks me out and says I don’t have permission to access the app on my server. Annoyed!

First time I’ve ever taken the time to rate. Used to be a great app but lately, all it does is freeze up and make me not even bother with it.
How to pause linked accounts. 1/5
Uber eats has hidden all in app promotions after connecting to the app ONCE through this “service.”
Further, there is no way to control my privacy / data collection for sale. Simply says “no privacy laws in your region.”
This is appears to be false advertising through omission and malfeasance through lack of transparency.
Please tell me how to resolve these issues, or where I may have seen a clear acknowledgement of these before being in the app.

I just deleted this app, it is so unbelievably bad. Why do companies bother putting out apps that don’t work?? This glitches and freezes like crazy. I click the back button and everything is just white, no matter how long I wait. So then I click to go back to Rakuten, then go back into the merchant site and everything in my bag is lost, nothing from the previous visit is saved. I work in internet marketing and I’m just incredulous that they would put out and app that does nothing but infuriate customers. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve given up and just accepted I wasn’t going to get my Rakuten points. You need to work on this app. Hire more developers. Do something. This is BAD.

I want to give this app a 5-star, however I just made a purchase through the app (on my phone) and it kept FREEZING and it was SO FRUSTRATING!!!! I think doing it on my laptop is fine- I just can’t believe after the many poor reviews due to this issue, that it is not fixed.

I along with my referrals have made numerous purchases using the app and haven’t received any rebates. Rakuten is getting paid and not doing what they say.
My husband ,sister, stepfather open account with my referral 2 days for received my money and other cashback block my account and his accounts without pay me and pay for his purchase and bonus my cash back money with the “fraudulent accounts” my last sister make a purchase for received $30 in cash back and they dont even pay nothing so better dont do referral other apps pay you after reach $25 and this app after 3 months and dont even pay complete they keep my cashback BiG SCAMMERS

So disgusted. I received cash back from and Expedia trip purchase, so it was a larger cash back. Was added to my cash back and then “poof” it disappeared right before I was to receive my May check. I’ve emailed with customer service and it’s been a waste of time. I would appreciate chatting on the phone, but of course there is no number for customer service. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

I purchased a Spotify code. The code the reseller sold me is only valid in Japan. After dozens of emails to Rakuten/seller/Spotify they are all pointing at each other and I don’t have my Spotify subscription. You are on your own with this company. Good luck!

I’ve been using this app for over 3 years. I’ve done tons of shopping online and instore, to add credit to my profile. Whether I show I’m in store or online, I am not getting my worth for this. I’ve tried online, the app, emails and anything I could connect with. I haven’t felt a part of this app or community or essential. I’ll support the company directly that gives me perks and discounts over this vague rewards.

I love love love this company’s cash back service! The app is amazing but the customer service is hands down the best! Nick L. Went above and beyond to assist me with my cash back and also explained features of the app that I had no idea existed! He was truly a blessing and to have someone as caring and kind as he was especially during these times really made a big impression on me! Good really does over shadow bad & love over hate! They constantly market for you to give referrals to friends and make friends make purchases and I never get the cash back. They always have some excuse, huge waste of time. This company likely won’t last, it’s a huge scam

No good offers for websites that I actually use all the time. I did the referral bonuses for all my family members during the 30/30 bonus and they made their purchases and none of us are getting any bonuses. Took multiple days to heard back and each of us got the same nonsense automated response saying that we didn’t get bonuses because someone must have more than one account. No actual help with ever comes from support. When I had referred my sister a few months ago I asked her every so often if she had gotten her bonus yet and she said she had finally gotten it. Rakuten purposely tried to not give me the referral bonus even though she had already had hers for weeks. Very dishonest and not trustworthy at all.
