Needs Slicker UPS/USPS Searching 4/5
I love that I'm helping plant trees. My only complaint so far is that there's no "smart searching" for your UPS/USPS/FEDEX tracking numbers like you have in Google searches. I shop a lot online and want to easily track my packages by putting in the tracking number in the address/search bar and it coming up "Track via [carrier]" and not zero results or nothing found. Please?
Everybody must use this! 5/5

I love the idea, and I love how seemlessly easy and simple to use. The best of all, Ecosia is an honest organization which shows its finantial information as well as its project's progress all in transparency, so I could determne it is legitimate and serious about what it says it will do for environment.
Past century, humans have destroyed so much on this planet, partially because of ignorance, but mostly arrogance. Thus, now we have to repair as much as we can, and that is what Ecosia does for all of us. Cool thing is that even I can participate the repair work by using the search engine. What a cool and great idea! Thank you Ecosia. I keep using so I can be a part of planting trees where the most needed.
This is for you, our Planet. 5/5
Our planet made me do it!
Update downloads but does no install
From my synopsis this seems to be a quality search engine with quality results, thus my 5 star rating.
why is this an extension which can track all my data? 2/5
It requires access to all sites visited AND all passwords and forms? i dont think so.
Why is this just not another search engine option in safari, why does it need to be an extension?
Unusable with a VPN 3/5
While I love Ecosia's mission, admire that they're a Certified B-Corp, and appreciate that they don't track users, the browser extension is unusable when it comes to anything resembling a convenient let alone frictionless experience if you use a VPN.
If you have a VPN, you get a reCAPTCHA challenge every time you try to do a search: 'Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network'. Ain't nobody got time for that. I understand the need to avoid DDoS attacks etc, but this breaks the app.
More importantly, this does NOT happen with Duckduckgo. If you fix this, and stop discriminating against the traffic of privacy-conscious users, I will switch to your search engine immediately.
Great until... 4/5
I absolutely LOVE Ecosia. I think the whole concept is brilliant, and it is extremely easy to use. Simply search in your normal safari search bar, and it comes up in Ecosia. Well, until the newest update. I have no clue why the developers decided to do this, but now you can't use Smartbar Search. Which is a big no for me. If I'm going to search something up, I'm going to search for it directly, not have to tap the little Ecosia button in the top corner and THEN search. This new update is horrible. As far as I can tell, there are no benefits to this new system.
Amazing Idea but... 3/5
I first saw this app through multiple adds and didn't download at first, until I saw the reviews. I checked out the website and it seemed pretty legit. I downloaded the app and was happy as can be knowing I was helping the planet.
But probably a week into using the app, I started experiencing some trouble with bugs on my computer. Pop ups started appearing more than usual, random apps that were clearly scams downloaded themselves onto my laptop. I didn't know what happened until my dad(who fixes computers for a living) said it was my search engine causing the problem. I haven't downloaded any other programs and my computer is pretty new.
I would really like to believe that it was something else I did that caused these problems, this truly does seem like an amazing company that I would love to support. I'm hoping I'm just that extremely rare case and that Ecosia fixes their bugs so they can continue to grow.
I just downladed he App a few minutes ago, so U haven't really explored its capabilitiess, but I like the premise. And after readiing through some of the comments, my initial inclination is tto give Ecosia a Five Star Rating!
And for the record, I loved "Can't Get A Nicknames" review!
This is a no brainer! 5/5
Plant trees without change my habits? Done. I was a little skeptical but it turns out this company has the support of other environmental groups and donates around 80% of profit to planting trees. Love it! More like this please!!
Love the search engine, but 5/5
By Can’t Get a nickname
For god’s sake, Ecosia, change your image that you put on Safari. I know it’s supposed to just be you searching tree, but there is a news article about a tree killing a mother on the front page.
Best Browser In Existence 5/5
i love the consept of this browser by saving our planet. Came from reddit, and its the best! I only dislike that its a safari extension for mac, instead of an app. Any way, i dont care, if it is saving the pantet!
Why not? 5/5
Ecosia purports to be less scummy than google with your data and they plant trees. What's not to love? I havent even noticed the change in search results. It's just normal results backed by a good cause. Make the switch.
4.75/5 stars 4/5
Really love the concept, but I have been using it for a couple months and the number of searches seems to be incosistant with the amount of searches I actually do. May be just a bug on my end though.
I love using the internet and helping the envirnment. This is one of the only honest tech companies out there so download it before google tries to squash it. The more searches a search engine gets, the more it improves, so please download it now (you'll also be planting trees).
Do It 5/5
It's secure, made by a certified B corporation, benefits the planet, and works great.
Everyone should give this app a try! We need to help any way we can. Ecosia is doing great things!!
Works Great! 5/5

Works just as if you were on Google! And for a good cause. Invest the one minute to install. :)
Love this 5/5
By Barney okay?
Why wouldnt anyone get this? It's a simple and easy way to help our environment! To be honest, I was super skeptical at first and thought that this would be just another one of those things where people use good causes to only gain a following and then never follow through with what they say they will. However, I was happy that you allowed easily accessed information that showed how you guys are impacting the planet, showing proof that of where your money goes, and giving us access to how you do what you do! Love this app, will definitely reccomend to all friends.
Of Course! 5/5
Why wouldn't you simply utilize the same type of search engine as all the others whilst making the planet a better place?
I call it "echoed" or "echoing" instead of "google" or "googling"...
