Maybe this is the lack of net neutrality kicking in, but multiple sites have become much less reliable and stable. Jalopnik, wired, and lifehacker among others. Slow to load, blinking out often and reloading, or freezing.
Not thrilled with this latest change 2/5
Why can’t I read articles in the app anymore, with that handy “remove clutter” button? It pushes to a browser now.
Awesome news organization 5/5
What a relief to locate a news site that actually deals in reality. Consortium.com and alt.news sites such as The Corbett Report are much of the reason the MSM is losing its grip, at last.
I want to READ my news. Not look at pictures! 1/5
If you like your news served up with lots of dumbed-down-for-the-masses pretty pictures, this is app is swell. But if you want to READ your news, this app is worthless. And I want the dates of those news stories plainly listed.
No way to contact support 1/5
Purchased annual subscription for Feedly
Pro and no way to cancel. They sent me an email only after renewal charged. Tried to call tell# provided in email (not an 800#) but only get a recorded msg to go to website but no contact info provided on website!? Disputing renewal charge with my credit card company. What kind of support is that if there is no way to contact!???
Loving the app! 5/5
By Peter in Japan
When google removed its RSS trader, I was devastated. Little did I know we would get a much better RSS browsing experience with this app! I recommend it totally!
Amazing app 5/5
Great app for reading blog posts in the go. Made great use of waiting room and commute time with app!
Rotation bug has not been fixed for months. 2/5
Use to use app all the time. Then this rotation bug popped up where it rotates feed after returning from web reader. Not fixed on my iPad 4 even though lots of promises of a fix on developer website.
Good if you want to discover new sources. No good if you want to add one from a url.
This is a very solid, no-frills newsfeed aggregator. 5/5
This is a very solid, no-frills newsfeed aggregator.
Great setup, great app 5/5
Love following all of my favorite blogs in one place. Easy to keep everything organized.
Good reader with memory issues 3/5
Excellent summarization, but it does not function well in landscape mode. Flips into portrait every time an article is read. There is no mark all as read button which is a royal pain.
Landscape Orientation Please! 1/5
By Skillet too
When I open an article or website in Feedly I’d love to be able to rotate the phone into landscape to view small text and photos. This feature used to be available for websites at least. Being able to rotate your phone to landscape is an essential part of using your phone, and it is an essential feature of Feedly that needs to be replaced.
Feedly is FANTASTIC! 5/5
By Email fiend.
Feedly is a great RSS news app. It’s really easy to customize, very user friendly. And the app operates smoothly in both iOS and Android.
Can’t read but ‘Mark as Read’ already? 2/5
By General Jim Raynor
Sometimes the app won’t open the article once clicked, but was being marked as read already (click to turn to gray). The article can only be viewed by choosing ‘show all stories’ first before force reopen the app, or else I couldn’t read the article.
Btw, it happened in early iOS 11.3 sometimes, after that, the bug became so frequent
This bug is quite annoying, Please fix it!
Great app! 4/5
I use this everyday. Sometimes it crashes. But not often. Switching between live feed and saved requires buttons to be pressed more than once but it’s nothing to stop me from using it.
The iPad app is horrible 1/5
The iPhone app works great I have not had any problems, however the iPad app is horrible. You get stuck between transitions so you are seeing half of one page and half of the other. If you use the app in the slide over view the sizing is all wrong pages are too big so you have to scroll left and right to read an article. Also sometime the app in full screen gets stuck small so you have a lot of wasted space. I love the service but the app is almost unusable for me on the iPad.
Excellent app. Perfect reader!!!! 5/5
Feature request 4/5
Decent app but it could better if we could sort all articles based on how popular the articles are. Or maybe give us the Top 25 articles in our feed. Feedly already rates articles with some type of scoring, why not let us sort on that?
Great update especially for x
I’ve always loved Feedly but what happened to the Save and Unsave “buttons”?
Overall solid but two things to improve on 4/5
This is a really solid app with one major exception. Why would you put "Mark All As Read" right next to "Refresh"? Ideally they would. E further apart and there'd be a confirmation screen before everything is actually marked as read. Several times I've lost things when I've meant to refresh.
A landscape mode would be welcomed as well.
Still no good Adaptive implementation 4/5
I love Feedly; I use it every day, but I have one minor complaint. I don’t understand why it does such a poor job implementing Adaptive UI. Whenever I use it in iPad Split View side by side with another App it never rearranges article tiles successfully, articles are cropped, etc. I love Feedly but please, fix this bug.
Great app for RSS 5/5
I switched to Feedly after the demise of Google Reader. Great, customizable app with plenty of options for viewing and organizing your feeds.
Good but could use more features 3/5
By Bakari C
When I pay a subscription for an app, I do so with the expectation that the app will get regular updates to improve the functionality of the app. I think Feedly is a well designed app, but I would like to see a few more automated features. For example, when I select to a board folder, Feedly should be able pre-select a board based on the subject of the article. Or maybe if the article comes from a particular source, a particular board is automatically selected, saving me from performing that redundant task. I understand how important subscriptions help developers financially, but when apps don't get improved, I start looking for other solutions.
Huge Time-Saver 5/5
Feedly is absolutely the best way to conveniently gather information from a variety of internet sources in one place. Saves time every day!
"Mark as read" is utterly broken 3/5
By Wanted a reference!
This app suffers from an amzing really basic UI fail. The whole point of an app like this is to read through a bunch of things, act on some, flag some for later consumption, then mark the lot as done.
The last step is hidden behind the gear/settings button. Because of course it is.
I Guess I Just Don’t See The Point 1/5
When I heard about Feedly, I thought I would be great. But after using it, I just don’t see the point. Seriously, if the devs can contact me and explain why this is any better than simply visiting the websites individually, please do so! I guess I was under the impression that I would be able to truly customize exactly what appears in my feed. Here’s an example, I like video games, so I selected Kotaku as a feed source. But I wasn’t able to get any more granular than that. I wanted to have Kotaku content, but only for subjects that interested me. For example, I wanted Kotaku content for God of War, but I didn’t want any Kotaku content for Fortnite. The app doesn’t do that, instead I just get everything from Kotaku always. The same as if I was just visiting the website without Feedly. So, what’s the point? What’s the advantage? [Shrugs] I just don’t get it. If I could filter keywords or tags, etc to truly customize my feed, that would be great, but as it stands I see no value in this app.
Beautifully designed 5/5
Brilliantly executed app. I use it everyday.
The actual reading news part is confusing AF. You might open the app after not using it for a day and then it says “no new news”. This is obviously wrong. Then you have to swipe or something and it refreshes.
Then while you’re reading, it give you news in bite-sized pages. You don’t know how much is left to read. Going back is weird. There is no “click title bar to scroll to top” feature.
Then when you’re done reading there is a “you’re done page” which you can still scroll past. This produces an infinity loop of “you’re done pages” or sometimes it just goes back to a (nearly) infinite list of things you’re already ready.
Basically I’m either too sober or not enough to understand what’s going on here.
Get right of the amp pages.. 4/5
Or at least a setting to disable. What’s the point of going into an amp from an rss?
Great way to keep up with news 5/5
RSS feeds are a better way than Twitter to keep up with news. And Feedly is the best way I know to follow the feeds. I’m constantly switching between phone, iPad, Windows desktop, and MacBook and Feedly stays 109% in sync so I’m not rereading stuff or missing anything.
They really rescued me when Google Reader let me down!
Really good , add widget ? 3/5
Love the app for apple and android ! Can you add a widget on iOS ? Would be even better ! Thank you !
Works as long as you don't follow links 2/5
Every time you follow a link to a web site, when you come back it rotates the screen upside down. Been doing it for weeks and it's still not fixed.
Sub-heading corruption 4/5
Great app! What’s with all the NewYorker articles with the subheading of “humor, satire, and cartoons”!! It changed about a year ago but it was never fixed. Don’t know who to contact about it.
Best RSS reader 5/5
I’ve used this app for a few years now and I love it! Best RSS reader out there!
The best RSS reader available 5/5
I love Feedly. I get all the content I want quickly and easily, and my feed controls couldn’t be easier to use - from sharing to keeping to marking-as-read.
This app is the best there is and has been for a very long time!
Screen flips sideways when I open a story, then won't flip back. Deleting app and using website. Too much time spent dealing with the app. Update: happens on iPad, and is still happening as of 5/13. App is basically worthless.
No landscape mode 1/5
Update: the developer claims that landscape mode is available in the in-app browser. This appears to only be true for feeds that are not set to default to the in app browser. If the feed is set to default to the in app browser, it is stuck in portrait mode. The same is true of videos. Sorry, still one star.
Ever since this app was “optimized” for the iPhone X it has not been able to do landscape mode. This makes the app far less useful, to the point that I no longer use it. This is the only app that I have encountered that has dropped landscape mode because it was “too difficult” to do on the iPhone X. Maybe you need to get some new, more competent programmers to fix it for you.
Scrolling bothers me 3/5
I really dislike the scrolling options, so I don’t use it. I would like to see a continued smooth scroll like a web site.
Great and simple to use app 5/5
Feedly just plain works as a blog aggregator and help you find related information from other sources.
Add a Swipe Feature! 3/5
Take a page out of Google Chrome and Apple’s playbook and allow us to swipe right or left on a story to get rid of it and move on to the next one. Or a delete button on the story.
It’s great for reading. Not productivity.
Best app to stay up to date without clutter 5/5
I am not aware of any news app that consolidates everything I read regularly (newspapers, obscure blogs, small online magazines etc). There are apps out there (e.g. Flipboard) that consolidate content from different sources but these sources are limited to major publications and it is always full of clutter. I want to read high quality stuff no matter its reach and I want to know when a new article is published on some obscure blog I read. Feedly does that in the simplest way possible. It also has great organization/archiving functionality. Just download it.
Awesome Reader 5/5
Awesome reader, smooth, fast and solid.
Can't think of any features needed.
Would be great to have off line applicability, but no big deal.
Crashes All Day Err Day 3/5
Good aggregator for news sources that I would happily pay for if not for constant crashing. The problem is when I open articles to view them fully, instead of just the preview. The built in browser can’t cope with pages that have a bunch of ad content, images and videos. I can’t read a single article without it crashing multiple times. I will often opt to read the article in Safari but I also dislike that the button to open in the article in a browser always opens in Safari which isn’t my preferred browser.
Great Everyday App 5/5
By Darth Den
One nitpick: in iOS, the option to “Look Up” does not appear when highlighting text in the app. Seems a choice on the part of the dev—would be a mighty useful include for the heavy reader.
Keep up your amazing work!
Where has this been all my life! 5/5
I looooove getting all my favorite news in one place. Now I’m not bombarded with news update emails, and life is simpler. App has excellent functionality. You can easily go back to a prior page, or run throug articles again if you feel like it. Love!!
