The best work out app 5/5
By Brendenkk
Hi, I’ve tried around 50 different workout apps and they all cost money or were complicated. Until I found this app it’s free and easy to learn and fun!! This app is so much better then all the other ones so please try it and I highly recommend!! 💪
Absolutely worth it, incredible app 5/5
By blue bonnet 78
I’ve tried a number of workout routines over the years, they’ve all been either boring as heck or just require too much of my brain to keep up with. With Fitbod I just open the app and hit start workout, I couldn’t love it more. Sometimes there exercises I hate, if I really hate them I can just eliminate them from future consideration, but generally the fact that I know I won’t have to do them the next day is enough to just grin and bear it. And I’ve gotten incredible results! I’m in better shape than when I was 19 and working manual labor 12 hours a day. That may be a bit of an exaggeration but not a huge one. I’ve been using it for 45 minutes a day about eight months now and the changes in my body have been dramatic. It’s made a huge difference in my mood and just my quality of life in general. I can look at myself in the mirror without being grossed out for the first time in 20 years. So anyway the app has my unreserved recommendation, there’s no app on my phone that’s worth its fee more than this one.
Overcharging 1/5

If you use this app watch your bank account!!
They take extra payments and never respond!
Okay. 3/5
By KaylaBee12
It’s a good app for workouts however half the time it doesn’t even connect to the Apple Watch app. Support wasn’t helpful, they told me to do the standard things like restart my devices, toggle Bluetooth on and off, and make sure that FitBod is connected to the Health app. I did all that before I even contacted them.
Freezes after workout 3/5
By AM-22-79
Loved the app but had to reinstall. Now it freezes after every workout. Only way to exit is to discard the workout so nothing is recorded.
Great App 5/5
By Dybdhgdkdu
A main struggle for me at the gym was knowing when to rest certain muscles, when it was best to work out which muscles and what exactly to do and the app figures all of that out for me which is great. Plus I expected to have a pay an for an expensive subscription for it but it’s free
Amazing app, great value 5/5
By Akhuns
Worth every cent. All the benefits of a customized trainer and helpful to see all of the movements explained.
Never been hurt 5/5
By FlyEJets
At 52 it’s easy to get hurt in the gym. Forbid has pushed me but never to the point of injury. Really happy with the app and have recommended it to my friends.
This app does not loadddd 2/5
By Bdicidbsoagsbdo
I have been trying to log my workout in all day and it will not load, I’ve tried testing my connection, restarting my phone, deleting the app, and even upgrading but it gets stuck either when I hit finish workout or try to log a past workout it says “counting calories” and never moves. This app has such great potential if it could just load. I’m upset
I’m more consistent than ever 5/5
By walgreensfan11
Have always been “wanting to get in shape” for the last several years but never stayed consistent. Don’t want to go to a gym and didn’t know how to make any sort of real plan.
I tried out a few apps that outline plans FOR me everyday and this one really stuck out. You can put in what equipment you have access to (home or gym) and it is so wonderfully personalized for you. I can’t mindlessly lift weights, so it creates a circuit for me. It creates supersets for me. It does everything to keep me moving so I don’t get bored or lazy because that’s what I need to succeed.
It caters exactly to your needs and it really has made me consistent and successful in my fitness journey so far. I’m really enjoying it and feel stronger everyday (also, I’m kind of glad it’s not free because paying keeps me on the hook to work out and it’s cheaper than a trainer or gym)! Thanks, Fitbod. Seriously.
Great app, I use it almost daily 5/5
By Golden cheeseburger
I’ve tried a bunch of fitness apps and I like this one the most. It’s a little pricey, but it’s the whole package. Great exercises, easy to use, integrates with an Apple Watch…
Worth it, if you ask me.
Best Fitness app! 5/5
By '94MusicHead
I have been using this app since 2019, and it’s the best fitness app I’ve ever used. Not only does it generate workouts for you based on your goals, but it generates workouts for you based on your skill level and the equipment you have available- whether that be at home on in the gym. You can also customize the workout to the exercises that you want. There are videos that show you what the workout is supposed to look like in case you don’t know how to do it as well. It’s good for if you actually go to the gym or you do home workouts. It’s helped me so much on all of my fitness journeys. it’s so good for advanced and beginners, it’s worth the subscription. I highly recommend!
Great app for biginers 5/5

I was alway in question what exercise i need to do in gym but this app helped me to find right exercises
Good but buggy 3/5
By Aa zag d
Buggy, especially the new update
Getting better - not quite there 3/5
By rwilbu011111
Been using this 3 years, here are my suggestions:
The superset warmup sets are a problem. Once a warmup set is done, the app jumps to the next exercise having to manually go back to do the 2nd warmup set before the actual supersets start
The countdown +/- time are opposite of what is intuitive
When exercises have a left/right side the timer is only 3 seconds to switch sides. I have to pause the timer manually immediately after the time stops on the first side. It would be nice if I had to hit start again to start the opposite side.

Awesome to start when you don’t have an idea of how to work out. I recommend it 100%

This app has helped me in times of grief and isolation when I felt like I couldn’t even get out of bed having a personalized workout plan knowing it was tailored to fit my muscles needs helped so much. Thank you FITBOD
Stop changing the app!!!! 3/5
By Cwalters73
Please remove “start workout” on every part of the app. It gets in the way. Please stop tinkering with the app set up every month. I pay monthly for the app and don’t want to cancel my subscription, but it seems like you’re doing too much.
Real potential to be the best fitness app out there 5/5
By Mhudetz
This app is incredible for all the reasons other reviews have mentioned. I have one suggestion I can think of after using for 3+ months. More specific equipment selection! For example, choosing which ez bar or barbell weights you have in your gym, E.g. Sometimes the app asks for 45 when I only have 40s or 50s. Would be nice to have that specificity! I’d also like to see the progressive overload calculated by taking into account your strength across various similar exercises. I.e. right now it seems that progressive overload is exercise specific, which can leave you feeling under-challenged when returning to an exercise you haven’t done in a while. I know you can manually adjust the weight but it would be better to start right away with a properly challenging weight.
That’s all my input for now, thank you for this app!
Great 5/5
By fit_2-
This is the best workout app I have found so far! I have tried others and I always come back to this one.
Great app. 5/5
By nikgb8
Love this app, best workout app I’ve used. Missing a some exercises. But they’ll prolly be added with time.
Great! But could be iterated on. 5/5
By 8biteight
This is exactly what I’m looking for! I have a couple requests/suggestions.
I have a sports injury I’m rehabbing and also have dominant muscle groups I try to avoid activating (upper traps, quads)… would love the ability to tell the app to avoid these muscle groups or train them infrequently.
Another suggestion: A LOT of people have upper cross syndrome from cell phones & computer work… would love to have a way to tell the app I have this issue so I target stabilizer muscles while stretching over active muscles. I have to use a second app for PT which is annoying.
I think there’s a big opportunity to tell the app about muscle weaknesses so that those muscles could be targeted (like upper cross syndrome, weak glutes, unstable hips, etc)
Anyway, I’m enjoying the app!
Feels like I have a trainer! 5/5
By Dee_1789
I love how easy the workouts are to follow. The videos are beginner friendly and show proper form from multiple angles. Also liked that suggested workouts can be modified or replaced. My new gym best friend!
My go to for fitness 5/5
By Panda120992
I absolutely love this app. I’ve used it on and off for years and always come back to it. They’ve made major improvements and continue to surpass my expectations every time. Now this doesn’t mean the app is perfect but what really is? 1) the app has tons of exercises with varieties lots of variations of some movements. This is awesome but sometimes the auto generated workouts will put those variations in a single session. No big worries though because they make it easy to swap out the exercise.
2) I would love to see a space for tracking my measurements. The app is great with letting you know when you hit records and seeing my measurements as I progress would be great!
If you are a beginner or a gym rat, this app is perfect for you. No guessing what your gonna work on or getting bored with the same exercises. Use this app to plan and try new workouts.
Great app, but a bit over priced 4/5
By Gliffy101
My trial of this app was great. I enjoyed customizing my workouts to modify where needed. If it wasn’t $80/yr I would definitely keep using it.
Even though I profiled that I don’t have barbells and land mines, the app still suggested those workouts for me. Being able to adjust sets and weights was clutch. Unfortunately, for their price point, there are many other workout programs that do the same thing.
Buggy 2/5
By Justin's opinion
I have been using this app 5 days a week for almost two years and have loved it. I tell everyone about it whether they are starting out in the gym or been working out for years. The last 6 months it has been very buggy though, making the most beneficial feature (to me) useless. The body recovery mapping has been amazing to help plan out workouts, without having to write out a plan around what I think needs rest. The app keeps replicating the same workout I did the day before and I have to “complete” the workout a second time. Which makes the app think I just completed that area of the body’s workout, before jumping into the next workout to be generated. Very frustrating.
Incredible 5/5
By waikbordrr
This is the easiest app to use. Instead of giving you 5 million options, it makes it so efficient to get any sort of workout done. It narrows down the exercises by what equipment you have. Definitely worth the money. I will look forward to utilizing it at the gym and when on vacation.
Amazing 5/5
By yeyebw
This app is awesome! i do have a question tho.. when i go to see my workout and it already has the weight on there is that just default or is that telling me to do that weight

I’ve been using this app for two years and the results have been amazing. No plans on stopping.
Stop recommending vertical climber 1/5
By Caspian97
This app all of sudden insists on recommending the vertical climber. I’ve told it to never recommend vertical climber. It will still recommend it with a logo saying that it knows I have asked it not to recommend it. Tried to go to the equipment to tell it my gym doesn’t have a personal climber. There is no option to even uncheck it. Really annoying to pay for an app that designs my workouts and then I have to disrupt my workout to tell it every day that I can’t do the vertical climber
Almost Perfect 4/5
By 76Adam
So far I have enjoyed this app. I really like the amount of exercises, and that it tailors workouts based off of muscle recovery. The one complaint I have is that there is no difference in the 45 minute and 1 hour work outs. Basically starting at 15 minute workouts it builds a 4 exercise workout. And then each time you up the time you want to workout by 15 minutes, it adds 2 exercises. Except for when you go from 45 minutes to 1 hour it stays at 8 exercises. Then when you go to an hour and a half it jumps to 12 exercises. I find the 45 minute workout to be too short and the hour and a half to be a bit too long. The one hour workout would be perfect, if it worked. If the developers fix tgis, I will give the app 5 stars.
I found a way! 5/5
By CNAN50
I was going to gym using random workouts from the internet but I used this app for one week and knew this was what I needed. I review my workouts every evening to prepare for time and I’m seeing results in 4 weeks.
It’s giving what it’s suppose to give… 4/5
By Mister_Badil
I love how it takes the guessing out of my workout. Gives good suggestions on weight for my level, and even when I think it’s too light my ego is quickly checked by the workout difficulty. I feel stronger, and can see the changes in my body. Sometimes the log can finish the workout before your actually done logging sets but other than that no complaints.
My favorite feature is the gym ,and equipment tailoring. I can go right in the specific gym settings and right to the machine and workout tailoring with no confusion. If it’s not there or too crowded I can replace the excercise easily.
I don’t feel alone working out. It’s like a quiet trainer, you just gotta push yourself. Trust me once your lifting or stronger than you thought. You will continue to use it.
I shoveled snow this past storm one handed for the most part with little to no fatigue couldn’t have done that before this app…
2nd review 5/5

I have 500 workout from this application. It is phenomenal app for experienced uses as well as beginners. I run A party community I always use this app and people ask for fitness advice at the gym. The app seems to be getting better and better as time goes on. makes me wonder what does app will ad in the future. perhaps dieting
Waste of money 1/5
By 893937373
Been using this app for a while. Don’t waste your money. It’s just a repeat of the same exercises and suggestions. Might as well just look a workout routine and follow that everyday. This is a waste of money DO NOT USE.
Love it! (after I disabled most features) 5/5
By Morazan
This is a really cool app. But I am a shy gym-goer. I don’t want to be “changing up” my workout every day, or doing circuits — and I’m certainly not going to lie on the floor and do pelvic thrusts (FEATURE REQUEST: give the option of NO bodyweight/floor work).
What I want to do is use each machine, one after the other, in the order that they appear in my gym. And I want the app to remember my reps and weights, and to gradually challenge me every day. I found it SO frustrating that I couldn’t do this simple thing.
But then, when my free trial was over, and I actually subscribed, voila! New features magically appeared. The most magical feature is “create your own workout.” It turns out there are hundreds more exercises to choose from, which were not visible before, and you can add them one by one to your own private workout.
So I walked around the entire gym, and used the search feature to find every machine I was interested in: Machine Tricep Extension, Machine Shoulder Press, Leg Press, Ab Crunch Machine, Seated Leg Curl, etc., and added each one to the list, in order.
I saved this workout, so now I basically have a map of the gym. I do the “same” workout every day. It leads me through every machine —in order! — and remembers my weights and reps. I can skip a machine if somebody is on it, then come back to it, no problem. I can listen to my music and glance at my Apple Watch to see how many reps I should do, then tap on that satisfying “set completed” button. It doesn’t ask me to lie on the floor and do supermans, or to lift barbells. It is a very simple, efficient full body workout.
And even though I am doing the “same workout” every day, it is smart enough to understand that I DO want to gradually improve, so it increases my reps and weights very slightly every day.
I hope this helps someone else who might want to use the app in this simple, straightforward way.
Logging 3/5
By R-Nick85
My only qualm with this app is that I cannot log past workouts without an active account. If that feature alone (even if some stats were limited) was allowed so it would sync to my Apple health kit (vs always needing a watch) I would get it.
Almost perfect 5/5
By Tsb831
Little quality of life changes could still be made. I will add to this as I come across more.
-add a timer that can be manually used during workouts. I do some timed stretches and have to use iPhone timer.
-add ability to manually type in rest time. Currently can only do + - 10 second which means sometimes I have to rest for 55 seconds or 1:05 because I can’t manually type in 1:00
The Best Workout App 5/5
By Onlyonedone
I have tried several apps over the years. I have only used this app for the last 2 years. Great for at home or while traveling.
So far so good! 4/5
By Nikki The Foodie
My second workout using this app. I’ve already recommended it to several friends.
Workouts are great and I definitely feel like I’m getting a great workout. My only gripes are:
1. I know there are warm up reps but don’t see suggested warm up exercises before starting the workout.
2. The rest periods between reps doesn’t always work for me. This could certainly be user error but I haven’t figured it out yet!
Overall great app! Great workouts!
Amazingly simple 4/5
By praspan
Very compact and sleek interface and the 3-workout trial gives sufficient information to incentivize subscription.
I only have one major usability issue - l’d love to watch the video gif AND log a set on the same screen after I start a workout. Current behavior requires going back n forth between screens for logging and watching the gif, so that’s pretty inconvenient for beginners!
Great for all stages of experience! 5/5
By chrisser__
I’ve used fitbod for several a years. I’ve found it very helpful in the progress I’ve made. For the beginners, it’s a great way to start building a routine, and being exposed to different exercises. As I moved to being more advanced, I use the auto generated workouts less, but it’s has made it super easy to plan my workouts ahead of time and most importantly keep track of my history and can plan my weight increases. This app is worth the price. I think it would be GREAT if they added a heart rate monitoring feature during workouts. I’m not a fan of the apple fitness one, and have used another app to display my heart rate on my phone. I like to have my rest line up with my heart rate, but just a set time.

Amazing app helps me a lot stay on track and get my workouts done
Supersets and fresh muscles ignored 2/5
By Dlach86
Could be a great app but still glitchy supersets are inefficient. Always has you supersetting the muscle you just worked out. Then completely ignored fresh muscles. So much promise not worth a yearly subscription yet! Make a free app until you fix the bugs moving onto another app. Don’t mind the paid reviewers!
Made machines less intimidating 5/5
By Schekanov
This app takes a lot of thinking out of “what will I work on today” and helped me get used to weight lifting - something that always felt intimidating
Great for the first few months 2/5
By Adromen2a
Not sure what happened but my app just stopped working properly, it only gives me 3 workout when I have it times file 1 hour and 30 minute workout. If the bug isn’t fixed in the next month I’ll be deleting and finding another app.
Doesn’t matter what I edit or try app just isn’t working good anymore. If your just getting it DONT, wait until they fix it
Worth the money 5/5
By Get rid of messenger
There are a lot of people complaining because it’s a subscription. Right now, it comes to almost $6 a month for the annual subscription, pretty cheap. If you can’t remember to bring your notebook to the gym, this app is helpful. I create a new workout from scratch because sometimes the sets are a little weird, but I workout from home now, so I am limited on equipment. Overall, if you can afford a gym membership this isn’t too much more. It has really helped me keep on track to meet my goals.
