    I bought a month to see how well this app worked and I loved it enough to buy a year. It does have some issues here and there but they are far outshined by the app as a whole. For those that don’t want to read much skip to the bottom and I’ll try to sum everything up. The reason I decided to try this app in the first place was so that I didn’t have to think about throwing a workout together and to get more variance in my workouts. In the app, I put myself as an advanced lifter because I’m very familiar with a weight room but I’ll admit that it’s easy to do what your comfortable with. For me that is mostly bulking and strength training which isn’t my goal these days anyway. So I chose my goal to be leaning and cutting weight. I haven’t lost any weight but I’m not fool enough to think that’s because of the workouts (weight loss starts in the kitchen for those that don’t know). I have, however noticed a great difference in my muscle tone while maintaining my weight. I cannot speak for the other goals but mine seems to work extremely well. The library of lifts itself is quite expansive. This is nice because it gives me different lifts to try. I’ve done a lot of lifts before I ever used this app and yet I’m still constantly doing new ones. If you don’t like a particular lift you can turn it off so that it isn’t put into your workouts. On the other hand, if you don’t have the equipment required for a lift you can actually customize what is available in your gym. Going even further, there is a setting which you can toggle that makes it only recommend body weight exercises. I haven’t tried it myself but there are a lot of body weight lifts so I’m sure it works extremely well. The workouts themselves (for the goal I’ve selected) are packed from start to finish. The rest times are quite short, which makes sense for toning. There’s even a rest timer you can turn on that can send you push notifications whenever you need to do your next set. The recommended weights seem to be actually pretty accurate. They take a while before they start being recommended, though. I’m still not getting too many weight recommendations after a month but I feel it’s a pretty minor thing. If there’s a lift you don’t want or can’t do, then you can easily replace it with recommend lifts (or any lift if you search) even during the workout. The log is apparently not that great if you listen to other people. To be honest, the log is not at all the reason I was interested in this anyway. I could care less about my total calories that I might have burned or my total weight lifted in a workout. These seem really irrelevant to me. Once I’m done with a workout, who cares? Incredibly fast customer service. Had a payment hiccup because I payed through their website then payed through the App Store for my year. Basically, I got charged for another month and a year. I emailed them just before writing this and they’ve already sent me an email back reimbursing that month. There are a few issues. My biggest complaint is that there are no set or rep variations. So no pyramid sets, super sets, etc. All exercises are x sets of y reps at z weight. That is except if it includes a warmup set or two. But my next issue is with the warmup sets. You can toggle the warmup sets on or off in the settings. But they really don’t pop up very often in workouts. And almost every time they do, I’m like halfway through my workout already very warmed up. So I don’t feel that they’re really doing what they’re meant to do. The last notable issue that I’ve noticed is the lack of cardio. It never throws in a little cardio for me to do and I’m positive a little cardio won’t hurt anyone. There is cardio in the exercise library but I guess they’re there mostly so you can add them manually and log them. Any other problems are relatively minor nuisances. Oh, and the fact that it’s not on Android. Although they are apparently working on an Android version which I can’t wait for so I can jump ship. I do have some closing thoughts on this as a replacement for a trainer. If you are an absolute beginner or don’t have great form, I would not recommend starting with this app. Trainers are great for teaching you the basics and helping you focus on form so that you won’t injure yourself whenever you start lifting heavier weights. This app does have descriptions and videos of each lift but believe me when I say that’s just not enough to start with. Another thing trainers do well (good trainers at least) is get you motivated and keep you coming to the gym. This app will not call you up and say get to the gym. The most it will do is send you a notification. TLDR: To sum up, this app is great for you if you want more variation and don’t want to worry about creating your own workout. If you want something to push you through a full workout and tell you when to start your next set, this app is great for you. If you are only looking for the greatest logging app of all time, this might be a pass for you (I don’t know enough about logging workouts to give a great opinion here). If you mostly want to do cardio based workouts, this app is most likely not for you either. If you are a complete beginner with no real knowledge of how to work out, I recommend getting a trainer to help build up your form for a few months before only using this app.

    App is slow and unresponsive after latest update. I’m on an iPhone X. Nope it used to be really smooth and now even the timer stops responding. Not sure if it’s something to do with a low cell signal or something being blocked on the main async channel being done in the background. That’d be my first guess. Since the UI is freezing.

    I really enjoy this app as it helped change my routine. I would give it five stars but since the most recent update, it doesn't work properly and won't load any new workouts. Hopefully this can be fixed and the app will start working correctly again. Update: After the most recent update, it is running flawlessly again.

    App was great until the latest update. Now it does not notify me when my rest is over. It used to give me an audible notification as well as a visual notice. But no longer. This stinks when trying to do HIIT workouts. #sad

    I’m an intermediate level fitness guy who knows the correct technique but is busy with a million other things in my mind so either need a PT or now fitbod! I now don’t need to think about what workout or exercises I need to do each day, even when travelling because of their body weight only function - I LOVE THIS APP!!!

    App is up and running again. I would still do improvements such as options to increase font size, separate instructions from video (therefore not using as much data). Also, when replacing an exercise or selecting available equipment for a gym profile, have equipment images as not everyone know what every single equipment is.

    I’ve worked out for over a decade, but more recently with work and life I started slacking going to the gym. When I started getting back into my routine I found myself having issues in thinking through a split routine and tracking it. I had tried other apps, but sometimes I’d miss a workout or two due to travel or what not and then had to rework the program. This app, on the other hand, is excellent! It works like magic with the Apple Watch telling me when rest time is up and allowing me on the watch to log the reps and weights for the specific set and see the next set coming up. I started with just the trial and have found this app to be incredibly useful. I decided to purchase the subscription because for me it saves me time, motivates me to get to the gym, tracks everything effortlessly, and allows me to adjust workouts while taking that info into account for the remaining sets and future workouts. If nothing else, at least TRY this app and see the difference between how flawlessly it works. Also, one major feature that helps so much: you tell it what equipment you have. It then only makes workouts you have available in your gym. Genius!

    A great app worthy of the gym. I’ve tried many others but they all seem to lack every option I need, and miss some I don’t. What stands out to me are: - the ability to quickly and easily sub in another exercise when you don’t like what they throw at you - seems to be designed around the least amount of button pushing during a workout. - you can select the exact equipment you own and the app will only recommend exercises using that equipment. Overall, I love it! One of my favorite apps period

    I was very excited to use this app after reading about how it works and how it took all the guess work out of deciding how much weights to put on and what work outs to do today, but I was very disappointed how after 3 workouts the app became useless unless you pay the 8 dollars a month or the 50 dollars a year. I love the idea, but I’m not sure that it’s worth it when there are other apps that do similar things but are just a one time payment of a couple dollars.

    Fitbod allows me to easily track my workouts. It also creates new workouts for me to do in my routine. These workouts are based on the recovery of your muscles which it also keeps track of. Also you are able to replace any workout with another one for the same muscle if you want to. 5 stars for you Fitbod. It only gets better from here.

    Really great app to get customized workouts which target different muscle groups in different ways. The poor man’s personal trainer! I unfortunately was only able to use the 3 free workouts, but I highly recommend for anyone who wants to hit the weights, whether they’re a beginner who doesn’t know where to start, or an advanced lifter who just wants switch things up. Hopefully in the future I can splurge on the subscription.

It not only shows you a workout for each muscle but also explains plus a live virtual person doing the exercise so you know what your doing!!! Great for newbies to the gym.     This is a great app to set have your workout progress on your phone! The only thing to improve is that since all the text fields are numbers, you guys should display the numeric keyboard instead the qwerty one, otherwise good job. Congratulations to the design team!

    Like a proud parent, I’ve watched Fitbod grow and develop from the early stages where the app would crash, videos were pixelated, and it looked like things would not end up well for the people of Fitbod. I sent them a message when I noticed their instruction videos that used to have audio attached were removed. With great customer service, they explained that they were planning on re-recording all the instructional videos that were once borrowed from another company. After about a year, I noticed improvements in the types of exercises you could choose from, the gym equipment you had access to, and (my favorite) the option to choose your body type that you would like to pursue. This app keeps me motivated to hit the gym every day at 11:30 at night after a long day. I get my notification, and can see the workout that’s ahead of me.... I absolutely love it. For all those type A planners out there like me, get this app. You’d spend money on anything else of value, this app is WORTH IT. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go hit the gym!

    I just started working out and found this app to make it easy to setup a routine. It’s customizable to your home gym setup or whatever equipment may be available to you. The $50 dollar a year plan is a tough pill to swallow. Other than the price, I would recommend this app.

    Just as my title states, this is really the best fitness app out there. Well made and great variety. I love how it lets you choose the type of gym equipment you have access to, which is really helpful, especially if you use a home gym. The muscle fatigue tracking is pretty good as well. I love the integration with Strava too, which I use for running. I could go on. But really, you just need to check it out. You’ll be glad you did and your body will thank you.

    So far loving the app. Have used it for 4 days of total body works with weights and have rarely repeated exercises or rep counts cause it track not only the workouts, but how those workout affect the muscles recovery. It will remove body parts as needed ensuring u don’t overtrain. Also builds workouts for people that prefer body weight workouts and calisthenics. Cost a lil bit of money. But if ur into fitness definitely worth a try. First 3 workouts are free

    I’ve been using this app for three weeks now and I’d give it a 3.5/5. It has good potential though. Overall, the app is simply a lifting app, but for $50/yr it can and should be a more encompassing fitness app. The app needs warm up and cool down exercises geared towards the day’s workout plan. It needs better tracking of cardio exercises with their corresponding resistance levels set on a scale, currently it’s too vague to understand how it’s tracking resistance and if it’s even counting it’s workload. You also cannot enter calories burned. There needs to be more gym equipment & exercises listed. Many of the machines in my gym aren’t listed and many of the machines in the app my gym doesn’t have. The app glitches a lot for me. I’ll have random exercises show up during my workout that I didn’t add and/or my current exercise will get deleted or all the sets, reps, and weight will randomly change. I’ve also downloaded all of the exercise gifs offline, yet they still take forever to load. You can’t enter custom/other exercises in the app. I do a lot of yoga and that would be a nice custom workout to enter and have it update the muscle freshness level. You can’t set multiple custom gyms and name/save them to easily toggle between for those who go to multiple gyms, travel, etc.... Would be nice to see some sort of friend workout tracking to help motivate each other and also the ability to sync workouts with a buddy, etc.... Lastly, in the App Store it clearly states that this app supports family sharing. When I purchased this app, it automatically charged my Brother’s credit card, yet to our surprise & dismay, he wasn’t able to access the full features. We couldn’t understand why, until we googled and found a similar case from another user. On Fitbod’s website there’s a FAQ section, which says does not support family sharing...such BS. It says it right in the app it supports it, but you have to go to their website FAQ section to find out it doesn’t...what?? They also give a BS answer basically saying it’s Apples fault, yet they’ve clearly designed their pricing to skirt around family sharing, they know what their doing. BTW, since this app doesn’t support Family Sharing it shouldn’t automatically charge the account managers credit card, it should let you select which credit card to use. There’s a host of other things I could go further on, but this review is long enough. Currently, the app is pretty good for what it is, a lifting app.

    I am on the road typically 300+ days of the year. This app is able to adapt to the type of gym you have at your convenience. It can even give you workouts if you don’t have a gym to go to. Great workouts for what you want and it keeps you well rounded.

    Well, I will start of by saying that this might be my 2nd or 3rd review all-time. I just don’t usually write them, but I had to write this one. It’s crazy to think that an app can do all this for you. If you are someone who is afraid of the gym, you don't know what to do and how to do it, this is a perfect app for you. If you’re someone who wants to take working out to a new level, this is an app for you. If you want to have a very individual approach to working out and keeping track of what you do at the gym - this is an app for you. Fitbod is basically all you need to workout. However, I am not going to say that everything is perfect, because improvements are always welcome. So far I am very pleased with the app and hopefully the crew will keep working on providing us the best possible experience.

    I have been lifting on and off for several years and while I know how to lift, I didn’t know how to organize my workout. This app will help you by telling your what to do and allowing you to switch out workouts if you do not like a particular workout (I am looking at you burpees) or if the equipment is unavailable. If you are not familiar with a workout of if need a refresher on how to do a work out, there is a gif and written instructions that show/tell how to do the work out AND they can be downloaded to be used offline!! There is also a timer to tell how much you should be resting in between workouts, which is great because I never really knew how much to rest. The app really will guide in your routine and I highly highly recommend it.

    My wife and I were looking for a workout app and thought we’d found a winner with Fitbod but they do NOT participate in family sharing meaning that my wife and I would each have to purchase our own subscription. That’s double the cost and when many other workout apps actually support family sharing we’re going to go with one of those even if they are not up to the excellence of this app. Yes I realize the app says it supports family sharing but check out their FAQ, in it they clearly state that they don’t and it’s not their fault but Apple’s. Yet apps like Peloton allow my wife and I to share a subscription so bye bye to you Fitbod, we’re sad to see you go but you’re not worth double the cost.

    This app allows you to select the gym equipment your facility has available, your current weight lifting level, the # of days a week you plan to weight train, how you’d like to split your workouts up (upper vs lower body, push vs pull, etc), you can select the length of time you want your workout to last, the specific days of the week you plan to go, deselect certain exercises (for me I can do deadlifts or back extensions),and it times your rest period between sets and gives you a nice little chime when it’s time to start the next set. You also can opt to get an overview of the days workout at a specific time (for me it’s 9:00 am when I walk in the gym) and a workout summary of calories burned based on your weight. I can even replace certain exercises in the workout that day if I’m just not feeling it. Overall I am very happy with the app and plan to use it long-term.

    I’ve been using the app for over a year now. The concept of calculating fatigue is with every workout and muscle group has been the biggest draw to it for me. I never write reviews, but just had to with this one, because it’s been a game changer for me and wiring out in the gym.
