Flo: Health & Period Tracker app reviews

  • It’s great 5/5

    By cuttnnutsacks
This app even works for us men as well!
  • I'm upset 3/5

    By Brother of Belarus
My girlfriend says it is a good app, but I'm little upset that she's not able to share her periods with me. Also, I would like to see some sync on different devices which I haven't noticed. Therefore, I'm going to choose another app over Flo.
  • 13 and under 1/5

    By Amadala23
I understand that there are guidelines of age that you can store the intelligence, then don’t put 12+ on the App Store, very misleading and irresponsible.
  • Doesn’t calculate correctly 3/5

    By gho22
I’ve used this app for a while. My cycle is currently at 31 days. I’ve been paying more attention lately because we are trying to get pregnant. Well I will count the days for how long my cycle is and the app always has my period early. This has given me false hope. It can’t even calculate what 31 days of a cycle is. So I know it had my ovulation days messed up too. I know it can’t be perfect at predicting but when I manually set my cycle length and it just always defaults to 28 days. I could figure it out myself but thought using an app would be easier. About ready to delete the app.
  • Age limit 3/5

    By idkwhatshouldbemynickname
This seems like a helpful app... but it doesn’t help me at all considering you have to at least 13 to use the app. I’m 12 and other girls start their period early and because of their age they can’t use the app... so I would appreciate it if they could change something about that because if I lie about my age it can track incorrectly,. And this goes for all young girls.
  • It’s pretty good 3/5

    By dvhum4$6)/
I like flo overall but I have a few problems. Take away premium. Stop deleting comments that you don’t agree with their opinion. In one of the chats I put something about adding an lgbtq section, they deleted it three times and all I said was” I think that they should add an lgbtq section.” Is that offensive? I’m pretty sure it’s not but they deleted that. In addition, it’s very female, all the chats say “from girl to girl” “about being a woman” “ladies” and I wish they would make it more gender neutral. Their comment moderation is to put it frankly, horrible. I post about binding on an lgbtq chat, it gets deleted. Someone posts about getting pregnant on a miscarriage chat, many people report it, it stays there.
  • 4 star rating 4/5

The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it dos sent give you the choice to be under thirteen and I am ten
  • Best app out there!! 5/5

    By MotherSileo
I’ve been using Flo since I’ve had my period. It’s always super accurate! I recommend it to all my female friends! :)
  • Timera 2/5

It is so much better then not really knowing what day you started
  • Love it! 5/5

    By Laila12345678901234567890
I absolutely love this app! Before this app I tried another period tracking app but in comparison I choose this one. It keeps track perfectly and I can always rely on it. Definitely recommend!
  • Please fix this 1/5

    By Amaris97
I hate that when your period is a day late, the app won’t display your estimated period dates for the month or even the rest of the year. When I had the life app, even though I would be a day late it would still show my estimated period dates for the rest of the year. It’s just nice to have whether I’m late or not. Please fix this
  • Changing my cycle start date 1/5

    By John1735208
For the past two months, the app has predicted my cycle start date. I was paying start both months, instead of it saying my cycle is late, it pushes my period start time out. Now, I don't trust the app is accurate for my ovulation dates neither. Also, I experienced a miscarriage on March 10, 2020, and my pregnancy dates were deleted. This app has gotten worst in the past six months. Plus I can’t update me email address without paying for the app.
  • Some Feature Suggestions 4/5

    By M go M
I love this app! There are a few things that aren’t included that I feel would be useful. - Something to track how many pads, tampons, liners, or cups you’ve used in a day to help track waste and confirm flow estimates. You could say “You’ve used 56 day pads, 11 night pads, 58 panty liners, and 4 tampons this year.” Something like that. - More symptoms—I suffer from bladder troubles leading up to my period, so a symptom for “bladder leakage” or “urinary urges” would be nice. I use “constipation” as a stand in for it in the app, but it would be nice to actually put in what I’m experiencing. - Something to track period leakage management. So we can encourage ourselves to go as many days possible without a leak! “It has been 27 days since your last period leak—good job!” Something like that! Thanks for reading!
  • App keeps crashing (using paid version) 1/5

    By ilovetrackers
Updated to the newest release and I’m unable to use the app. The last time I was able to use the app I changed the app color background/theme and it hasn’t worked since. Please fix!
  • Health Insights 5/5

    By ShellMHL
First and foremost, I love the Flo app. I use it daily and couldn’t recommend it more. There is just one thing I wanted to suggest because I think it would be very helpful. I wish there was a way to save the health insights to read at a later time. I find myself screenshoting the tips/info for my reference at a later time. It would be nice if you could add it to a “saved articles” folder or to the iPhones “notes”
  • Love it!! 5/5

    By clare bronson
So I’ve always been very self conscious and scared to ask about certain things but this app has helped me out with so much especially the topics and comments many women share their experiences and helps you out a lot
  • great but... 4/5

    By orange11🍊
this app is great! it is so easy to use and the secret chats are amazing! though there is one thing... it doesn't show you when your pms is. if you added that the app would be 5 stars in my opinion. thank you for your response
  • Way better than other apps 4/5

    By Falah3Yo
I’ve been using M. Cycles for years, but after they changed the layout, it’s been annoying to use. I was looking for a new cycle tracking app so I tried My Calendar and P. Tracker. They were okay, but Flo was the most user-friendly and had almost all of the symptoms that I wanted to track. The only thing I’d also want to see in the symptoms category is 1) Under the “Other” category, whether or not we had caffeine, 2) Under the “Symptoms” category, if we were itchy down there 😳, 3) Under the “Exercise” category, ‘walking’ as an option since I’m a lazy fart lol. I think that’s pretty much it. Very solid app. Wish I used it years ago.
  • Great App 4/5

    By Katt5259
This is a great app that I use for tracking my periods. I also love the health tips/facts and that I can record all my symptoms. I also really enjoy the secret chats. They’re really fun to use and it’s great to relate to and listen to others while anonymous. My reason for giving only 4 stars is that there is a Pro mode that you can purchase (I don’t remember how much it is) that’ll give you detailed reports of your cycles and a few other features. I just wish we didn’t have to pay to learn more about our bodies. That being said, this app is a lot better than most tracking apps because the features you get in pro are just extras that aren’t super important.
  • age 1/5

    By wãvÿ_bãę
I didn’t even get to use the app because on the page for download it says 12+ . I got my first period last week ( i’m 12) but when i got in the app , the youngest year was 2007 and there was a banner stating that their users have to be 13+ so this was misleading for me.
  • Amazing 4/5

    By mendoza33
I’ve had this app for a little over a year now, and I am very satisfied. I love how they provide you with tons of articles and surveys to keep you updated or give you insight to things. It’s also pretty accurate to when my period comes (most times spot on) lol. Although I love everything this app provides I would add a suggestion for the symptoms section. It would be great if gassy, hot flashes, and urge to pee were included.

  • not useful for ME 3/5

    By btggf4u
it’s a great app and it has a ton of different features but it is just not accurate at all with predicting my cycles. i seem to have somewhat of an irregular cycle but the period predictions don’t ever really update to more accurately predict a pattern. therefore, it’s not helpful to me but it could be for you.
  • Age? 4/5

    By Dariya Madkins
All of the girls in my family uses this app. I would say it is wonderful but I wouldn’t know. When I was trying to log in it said that I have to be at least 13. I’m not 13 yet but I really need help tracking my period. So it would be great if you could help me in some type of way, thanks.

I love the app. It’s the best one I’ve tried yet and it’s helpful. But I really want to be able to use multiple accounts on a device. That’d be nice.

  • Doesn’t allow ages under 13 cycles to be tracked 1/5

    By unconquerable21
I am a mom of an 11 year who just got her period. I was hoping to use this app to help track her period and increase her awareness of her body. Too bad it doesn’t take into account that girls under 13 receive their cycle too so I’ll be deleting this app with the hope to find one that does. I don’t want to use my age as my body and age is obviously not the same as hers.
  • This app used to be free 1/5

I use this app everyday. It’s fun logging your symptoms, but i didn’t know it had so much information on periods and puberty type stuff. great app, highly recommend.
  • Sad to discontinue 4/5

    By Tia_keepinitreal
I’ve been using this tracker forever, it’s been accurate and I love the details such ovulation prediction. I recently logged in and discover that it’s now required to purchase a subscription to use the same features I’ve been using using for years is a bit disappointing especially during unprecedented times. Looks like it’s a time to look for a new app.

  • it’s really great!! 5/5

    By maggie ☺️
i’ve been using this app for about a year now and i really love it. the anonymous chats make it easy to talk to other girls who are experiencing the same things as me. it makes me feel like i’m not alone and there’s always someone that understands. the period tracking part is very accurate and informative. it has helped me learn more about female health, hygiene, and more about our minds and how they work. i especially love how i can lock the app so when my family and friends are snooping around they don’t find my period tracker. this is an amazing app and i feel that’s it’s helped me a lot

  • One suggestion 5/5

    By Maddie MB
I absolutely LOVE this app, easy to use, and great people on it. But there is one thing I came across. In one of the secret chats someone suggested that Flo added a feature where you can tell the app when you change/empty a pad/tampon/cup and so it can remind you when to change it. To start you just add when you change/empty said product and it records the data, eventually like it knows when you have your period it will tell you when to change/empty because it has the averaged out data. I really how the app people see this because I though that idea was amazing (not mine) and it would help so many women who forget. Also maybe a setting to ask what product and size you use for that said feature would help. Just saying it would help many women from not having tss (toxic shock syndrome) because they would be reminded when they are due for a change.
  • i love this app but i’m having trouble now 4/5

    By jessica lamphere
this app has always predicted my period on time and if it’s not correct it’s usually wrong by one day. but now it’s not letting me open the app, it just crashes right away. i’m not sure what to do.

Predicts ovulation too soon. Graphs are messed up. I don’t like they predict my future periods since I’m irregular. But I like the virtual assistant
  • WRONG OVULATION DATE Don’t use as birth control!!! 1/5

    By holden112
Flo: you are messing with women’s lives when your data is off! It is reckless and irresponsible and the stakes are high. Please look into this. Update: developer contacted me. Nice and helpful. Too bad they don’t work in customer service at Flo where the person there is still arguing that their bad data (my predicted ovulation date) is correct in spite of 9 months showing it is not... Ok so who cares who’s right? I never write internet comments; why am I picking this battle? Well it matters if you’re using this as part of a plan not to get pregnant and other women are being impacted. It is recklessly incorrect. And they won’t correct it even when confronted with data to the contrary. I probably sound like a crazy person; I am only half crazy ;) and messing with women’s bodies and livelihoods - when purporting to help them - strikes me as particularly destructive. ———— I was mostly liking the app until I noticed in recent months it had an oddly early prediction for ovulation. Hmm I thought, that seems early, so I looked past at previous months and basically this current month’s prediction was off by 5-6 days, no small amount if you’re using this to avoid pregnancy (!!). It even retroactively went back and corrected prior months with no mention of it (“You know how we said you were ovulating on day 9? It was actually day 14, so you weren’t in the clear the way we said...”). I get that it’s not perfect yada yada - I’ve been using it for 9 months and regularly input info - but even its *default calculations* would’ve given me a better estimate. It feels like they were actively trying to sabotage a client. I wrote customer service to inquire and they blithely wrote: ‘we calculated your luteal phase at 19 days’ (though all previous app data shows it at 14 days, so it basically made up a number). It input terrible data and showed me ovulating 5 days earlier than I am!! With no apology or recognition of the issue. It wouldn’t be disastrous for me if I got pregnant, though not ideal, but I am *sincerely worried* the app’s bad data could have devastating consequences for other women. Don’t trust the app. Look back at previous cycles, do your own research and discern for yourself. Most women on a 28 day cycle ovulate on day 14. If I hadn’t noticed date 9 seemed early, and for no apparent reason, I most certainly could’ve gotten pregnant based on bad data.
  • An app for women run by men 1/5

    By Milligan Lauren Callahan
Flo is great for tracking periods, but I’m uncomfortable with the way it’s run. If you click on the authors of all the articles they’re all male doctors. I’m uncomfortable with the fact that the so-called private forums where women go to talk about their problems, is probably monitored by a bunch of male admins. I thought I was using a free app run by women for women, but it’s actually an app run by men with a male CEO, all male founders, and articles published by male doctors. Absolutely disgusting. On flo.com, the story of the founders is that they were all wanting to understand the women in their life that they love. After learning this information, I’m now uncomfortable using the app.
  • Great but.. 4/5

    By ThatOneChic22
It is a pretty good app so far but my OCD is at an all time high because they have a notification to try the premium but I don’t want to because I won’t be paying for it when it’s done and it won’t let me get rid of the notification no matter what I press. That seems simple and not a big deal but with severe OCD I’m going crazy and about to uninstall and use a different app simply because I can’t stand looking at the notification. I literally check every email I receive because I can’t stand to see notifications.
  • I used to forget 5/5

    By #1 app for women
I love this app. Flo app is great even if u forget. It reminds you to log in, and click your symptoms. When I got pregnant a year ago, I was able to tell my doctor my dates of my period. I also know before hand to prepare my self, for my period with the product I need. I never get caught off guard like before. I love it! I would recommend this app for all ages, all women need to have it.
  • I got my comment deleted for no reason 2/5
