Good app!!!! 5/5
I feel like this app is easier to use and it keeps me on track more than the fitness app or the under armor app. I also enjoy the articles that are available on here! Helps me grocery shop! And I like to scan my food and see what grade they are! I’ve always been a teacher’s pet!
Get the grade 5/5
Like how quickly it finds and rates the various food items...explains how it meets the grade.
Conntroling my sweetness 5/5
Interesting read about fake sugar. I had been thinking about replacing my sugar for my coffee to fake sugar. This convinced me to not switch. I eat mostly chicken. Fish, eggs and vegetables. Stay away from processed food with exception of tortilla chips. I drink coffee in the morning and use sugar. That is about it for added sugar. I was going to convert to fake but after this I am sticking with sugar.
My thinking still remains, stay away from processed and chemical intake as much as possible. Thanks
Tutorial available? 4/5
Heard about this on TV cooking show “The Kitchen” Anyone have recommendations for ease of use?
Not very helpful 1/5
Pay money for what? This app is useless
Helped me lose almost 20 pound so far!! 5/5
By BLOO BERRI
This great app is so easy to use! I just love it! It helped me lose weight because it is so simple...after years of Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and other incredibly expensive programs that never work in the end, this app is the BEST because you eat what u want and you learn to control your eating habits by yourself- in a way that works for you. Plus, even if you exercise only a little (such as walking slowly for 1/2 hour or 20 minutes) you can record the effect and it’s VERY encouraging 😎 TRY IT and good luck!!
This is such a good app if your looking to loose weight you can scan your foods and it tells you if it’s good for you or not
Come on man😢 1/5
This is a minimally useful come on designed to sell you features that may or may not be useful. My experience has been that apps using this sales model are not worth the few dollars you spend. I recommend you look elsewhere as there are fully functional apps of this type that are absolutely free.
Not reliable for what is “healthy” 1/5
I read through a lot of the reviews and saw there are a few who recognize that the creators of this app cannot be depended upon for what is truly healthy. It is surprising to me how many people will believe someone just because they say so. People, do your own research! Learn about what you are putting in your precious body.
This app cannot be depended upon.
Can’t edit recipes. Deleting. 2/5
By all my nicknames were takem
App looks great at the beginning, easy to navigate and intuitive, good scan feature that allows you to get all the nutritional values from your ingredients and calculate the total calories for your recipe. I created a recipe scanning all ingredients and some weren’t in their data base, the app asked me to take photos and email them to add later and I did. I went to try and edit my recipe, add a photo and the remaining ingredients and the option of editing does not exist. This defeats the whole purpose of the app. Sadly deleting.
Love it 5/5
Absolutely love the ease of use and how all food is rated!
This is very helpful when grocery shopping on what is good and what is not.
Has everything I need 5/5
I’ve been looking for an app that not only records my food intake but also helps me make better food choices. This app does it all. It helps educate you about what various studies say in regards to the amount of nutrients you need, it grades the foods you’re consuming and tells you why it receives the grade it does, and it gives you a list of better alternatives to consume.
It’s also really fun to use so I know I won’t have a problem remembering to record everything.
I just installed this app no less than 10 minutes ago, and they asked me to rate it three times, so here you go.
The user interface is somewhat awkward to deal with, and it feels more like one of those free android apps than a premium iPhone app deserving 4.7 stars. Every time you press the menu button, it asks you to rate it.
Your nutrition information should be presented first and foremost, but instead it’s hurried inside of menus that you have to click through. I was hoping for some more guidance in terms of information about my diet than it provided. Overall, I’m disappointed and will be switching to another app.
No program food and support email is down. 2/5
This app seems great but I’d think they’d include more diet foods or program foods as it’d be easy to find. I have to now add everything from my program. Ugh
When I emailed support I got a bounce back that their mailbox was full.
Negative star 1/5
By Eat happy customer
I wish I could give a negative star to this app. Worst food database and the customer service is absolutely non-existent. I paid for an annual subscription - the worst $39 I have ever spent in my life. Stay away ..
Very good app 4/5
Needs additional nutrition elements but overall, a very good app. Support is responsive to concerns.
Great app 5/5
Just started using this app. Love it so far!
Love the app 4/5
I love this app; the color coded, grades for foods really help me to eat better; easy to use format. Nice breakdown of nutrients. I just wish that there was a way to sync the activity w an activity tracker like fitbit or Apple Watch, even if it could sync to the health data, that would do fine.
It would also be great if u could make ur profile private and if you could pay extra and have a diet coach.
If those things were adjusted, it would be a five star app.
Just what I needed to lose weight 5/5
I’ve been struggling with my weight since early childhood. Now in my thirties with two kids of my own I can’t believe some of the stupid diets I have tried. Fooducate has taught me that eating real food is the key, not any special or expensive diet foods laced with artificial sweeteners and other questionable ingredients. The app breaks down every single food on earth for you explaining why a product is healthy or not based on its ingredients. I love the explanations and have learned so much. Another thing I love about this app is its community. You guys know who you are!! Absolutely got my back both in public forums and private chats. I couldn’t have lost the last 15 pounds without their support.
Lifesaving app!! 5/5
I started using Fooducate at a low point in my life. I had gained over 80 pounds in two years and my blood sugar was close to diabetes levels according to my physician. I could barely walk up a flight of stairs without me gasping for air and my heart racing. I started using Fooducate as a means to help me chose better foods, because I was too lazy to read nutrition labels. When I first used the app, I couldn’t believe how much sugar was in everything I ate. Fooducate breaks the sugars down for you into natural and added sugars. I started tracking my daily sugar intake, and focused solely on reducing it to as close to zero as possible. This became my only goal for a couple of months, and as a result I was able to get my blood glucose down to normal levels. As a benefit, and without really focusing on calories, I lost about 10 pounds a month for six months!! So here I am today, almost at my desired weight, feeling much better now that sugar is no longer a drug in my body. I couldn’t have done it without Fooducate. I am so happy with this app that I bought the lifetime subscription just as a thank you to the developers. Thank you for teaching me how to eat healthy and for helping me get my life and health back on track!!!
Daily User -LOVE this app 5/5
Update 20180423: still love this app. I find myself needing to get back to the straight and narrow and my go to is Fooducate. 5 stars all the way
This app is a fantastic consolidation of many other apps and then some. The scan and check food option is extremely useful. The calorie / goal tracker is easy to navigate.
Every click asks for a review 3/5
App is eh, some things are wrong and when they are you have to do the long work of emailing them all the information for them to probably ignore it anyway.
It is very straight forward though which is why I use it. Easy to navigate and a clear view of your calories for the day.
I am not someone who counts calories but I definitely think very thoroughly about what I put in my body and this app has made the process so much easier!!!I am totally addicted to it and it has helped me made a lot of choices for things I eat regularly. I don’t know what I’d do without it!
Healthy Choices 5/5
By Kid Choices
Helpful to find better choices. Great for helping kids because they understand the letter grades!
Spent a half hour typing out a recipe with the directions and all. Then when I hit next after that it crashed. Went back in hoping it was there, but no!! I pay $7.99 per month for this? In other apps, it would’ve saved what I had put in on the recipe so far? Super frustrated!!
Life changing for the better! Everyone should take advantage of this app!
Very useful app. It's currently being glitchy though.
I wanted to sign up for this app with my own email and my own password it force me to sign up through Facebook or Google
Don’t waste your money 1/5
I spent $19.99 for the gluten free option and all it did was tag things that are gluten free! I already know what’s gluten free! For $20 I can get that info for free and many other apps- a waste of money for stuff my FitBit does already! And gives me WAY more info for free! And when I requested a refund the company said- sorry- not our problem! Not cool!
would love to try this app, but... 1/5
... I can't sign up. It throws an error that ANY password must be between 6 and 15 characters, which I've generated multiple at lengths of 8, 10, 11, 13, etc. and it accepts none as valid. It's a shame, app seems nice.
Love this app! 5/5
This app is amazing! It is very helpful!
Exceptionally Helpful 5/5
This is a Fabulous App. Tremendously helpful when trying to eat a healthier diet. Takes the guesswork out of the “hopes” that a particular food or snack is good for you or not.
Love the information 5/5
Great to check foods and informative articles
Exceptional database of foods 5/5
Love being able to look up the nutritional value of foods quickly, seeing the grades is helpful. They always have what I’m searching for and the few times they didn’t, it was easy to add and eventually it made its way into their catalog.
Reading the details helps to teach my kids why an item is good or bad and backs up my reasons for buying or not buying an item.
Easy to use , helpful 4/5
Enjoy using this app, like the food grading system, feel like the database still needs expanded for the available foods sometimes though
Product Update? 3/5
By Mj 830
Products should be updated as often as possible. HUGE factor! There should be a spot where it shows last time it was rated 👍🏼
Love this app! 5/5
I love this app and how easy it is to use and all of the features. Only think I might add is exercise progress (the way they have it with food and weight, with the bar graph)
i like this app but 3/5
sometimes they grade food wrong in my opinion. i haven't used it in a really long time but let's say you eat a banana. a banana is a natural food, it's healthy and should recieve an A but the app might give it a B or something. it's rare to get an A. i feel that they grade foods too low. but idk, im not a specialist in health or anything.
Stupidly over complicated. 1/5
Way better apps out there for tracking your goals. This particular one is way at the bottom of the barrel. Try it, and compare it to any other health app.
Easy to use 4/5
This app is easy to use to find info so I can track. I would give 5 stars if I could add the food I've just researched. I may be missing something, but I don't think that's an option.
Otherwise, like being able to scan, or just look up, whatever I'm eating.
Oh, the add a food thing is nice, but I don't need an e-mail telling me it will take a while. I'm just trying to help. Do whatever, whenever you can. 🙂
Renal restrictions 3/5
More about potassium for kidney diets.
Have used this app for years!! Love it!!
Disappointed for an app advertised in a government site 1/5
All the food features are premium, don’t bother downloading unless you’re planning to subscribe to a plan
When I “okayed the purchase, it said $3.99/mo. I’m charged $39.99! Not okay!
I liked the app haven’t used it for a long time. I think I quit when they started charging.
So helpful! 5/5
Great service in that you can upload foods they don't have and they promptly provide feedback. So many foods I thought were healthy were proven to not be. Thanks fooducate for helping clean up my diet!
Great Tracker, Hard to Use 4/5
I really like my ability to add whatever I eat on the tracker to keep track of my calories and nutrients, but it’s a lot harder than it should be to add food. Every time I select lunch, it sets me to 1:00 PM. I eat lunch at 11:30 every day, so I’ll often forget to change PM to AM then I have to go through everything later. I’d prefer that the time didn’t change when I put a meal down. Second, I can’t update my own recipes and I instead have to redo everything from scratch. Third, the calories burned through activity are much higher than they should be. Running for 30 minutes burns around 275 calories, not 500.

When signing up you are prompted with the following message:
“Fooducate” wants to use “Facebook.com” to sign in. This allows the app and website to share information about you. Cancel or Continue?
Not sure what “share information about you” means exactly. Share with each other or post things on my behalf on Facebook?
