FORTUNE Magazine app reviews

  • Terrible 1/5

    By Mlkcomment
The navigation is awful. I can’t figure out how to bookmark where I left off. I need to login every time I open the app. I just wait for my hard copy in the mail.
  • Clunky, impossible to add a digital subscription 2/5

    By rick.aka.smitty
I've had print version for years. Trying to add digital is extremely difficult. Constant message that support site is down.
  • Can’t signin 1/5

    By easegoing
Can’t sign in using my username and password.
  • Fortune should read some of its own articles 1/5

    By Mxmsk
Every time I read an article including the latest one about craftsmanship and design it makes you realize the paradox of how far the app is from it. Every basic feature such as “picking up from where I left off” to basics of how the app loads are painful. App used to work and it was perfect. Offline issues. Easy to traverse. Now it keeps gettin confused between online and offline. Getting it to work is a pain. They should read one of their articles on execution. But I will wait for the standard developer response on how they will release a new app.
  • Won't be renewing my subscription 1/5

    By Wap400
I use digital for good reason. The new update (that I foolishly only just installed) makes it a pain to read. I just can't be bothered, I'll go somewhere else thanks.
  • This app is the worst 1/5

    By Stevew21
Has anyone who was responsible for it actually used it? How difficult can it be - it's a magazine for crying out loud!
  • New interface is much worse 1/5

    By ag92
The previous user interface/experience for this app was excellent. I often recommended the app to friends and colleagues as an example of a well done magazine app. The recently implemented interface changes are an enormous step back. I hope much of the previous user experience comes back or I will not be continuing my subscription.
  • What??! 1/5

    By Cr$&py
I could not download Dec issue on my iPad Air 2. I reinstalled a number of times, but no go. I found my December issue had downloaded on my other iPad (an iPad Air). In desperation I purchased the December issue....and I could not download it either, but I paid for a SECOND ISSUE!! This new format does not allow contact with Apple or publisher for problem resolution.
  • App doesn’t load 1/5

    By Sanjiba123
Fortune app is filled with bugs asks you to re-login almost everytime it opens. It still doesn't work. Am going back to print!
  • App is still terrible 1/5

    By ready to quit fortune
Still hard to believe how this app got messed up. I read all the complaints about how it doesn’t remember your place and it’s still not fixed. Despite the promises that it will be. Why can’t you fix this? Read the complaints. I am going to quit Fortune soon if this is not fixed. I have been a subscriber for over 10 years. Still disappointed
  • The new version is terrible 1/5

    By Viber fanfan
The new version gets rid of all the good things of the old one and it is in fact a downgrade instead of an upgrade. There is no menu to go to specific sections any more and you cannot save favorite articles. And it is so hard to use. I really don’t get why Fortune chose to do this terrible change of the well working previous version of the app.
  • Seriously? 1/5

    By ro_dawg
C'mon Fortune, this is considered an upgrade? This version is slow, glitchy and off-putting. Did you guys test it before releasing it - the answer is obvious. Been reading the magazine for decades and this version of the app makes me want to go back to the paper version. I hope the bugs are fixed soon otherwise I think you're going to lose some loyal readers.
  • Terrible update 1/5

    By russthau
It is unbearable to read now through the new app. It doesn't even go back to where you left off. The screen needs to be resized to read and the reader view is brutal. When you are finished reading the article it puts you to the front and not the end in the non reader view. The product team of this update should be fired and please give us the old app back.
  • Update is terrible 1/5

    By Btalb
Why not just leave a good thing going the way it had been. Loses my place and now too many buttons to press to get me where I had previously left off from. I am not renewing --- update --- downloaded all the issues I had purchased for a recent trip I took / get on the plane and of course it tells me I have no downloaded issues. How could a magazine that puts out the Fortune 500 also put out quite possibly the worse magazine app out there. This amazes me
  • Upgrade is AWEFUL 1/5

    By codamatrix
    What a to the economist
  • At least it remembers my password 2/5

    By Abu Ta'ir
I have enjoyed this app since it was first released. However, it has quit working. I spend 20 minutes trying to navigate to the proper issue, find the page I was on, and wait for it to appear. Then I have only 10 minutes left to read. Navigation is agonizing. Despite "downloading", I am unable to read offline. And sometimes I just can't get to an issue. I don't want the "latest from the web," I just want to read the issue. With Bing's retirement, I am not sure if it is worth the hassle.
  • Crap 1/5

    By Bob forever
The old app worked great the new one is horrible. It doesn’t even remember what page you were on. I’ll be going back to print version but probably won’t renew when it ends if they can’t fix what they broke. Update oct 15 still doesn’t open to the page I’m on using the iPad.
  • Restore back to old app asap 1/5

    By customer since 1992
I paid for access and now it does not work. I travel a lot and can’t read offline. No help in the system, no bookmark, no indicator if An issue is downloaded ... come on.... go back.... fix all this and then deploy when ready.
  • New update doesn't work. Avoid. 1/5

    By Chadiver
Downloaded issues don't appear. Even online I often get a blank white page. Will be unsubscribing. Update: even though I had restored purchases yesterday, I had to do it again. Then it worked, at least online. Upgrading from one star to two, but still not happy about it. Update: Requires me to restore purchases every time I open the app. Doesn't allow me to read offline. Back to one star and have cancelled my subscription. Update: subsequently lost access entirely, even though I have time remaining on my subscription. Wish I could give zero stars. This is unacceptable. Please beta test your apps in future.
  • New app stinks 1/5

    By Tulip8___6
If you leave the app it does not hold your place. When you go to the magazines table of contents you can not easily select an article to go to. Not user friendly, not easy to read. Very disappointing!
  • Look amateurish 1/5

    By K. Lai
Please check out Barron’s on how you present a magazine in a phone format.
  • New update is a huge step backwards 1/5

    By Mr. Boring
Fortune magazine has had a great app for many years. It was simple, intuitive, fast, and accurately mimicked the print edition. With this new app update, they tried to develop a whole new interface. Now we have something that is slow and glitchy. My biggest complaint is that it does not recognize what issue and what page you were on. The old app had a built-in bookmark feature. The new app loses that. It is harder to navigate to a specific page. The only advantage is that you can read it in landscape mode, but that's such a minimal advantage for me.
  • If don't get old app back will be forced to read paper copy 1/5

    By Jnlyn5
I don't get it, the old app worked great, what genius decided to replace it with a version that's all glitz and no substance? A hint, this isn't a magazine you read for the pretty interface. First I noticed the drop down list of articles was gone - replaced by pretty pictures that aren't accessible from within the issue, then worst of all exited the issue I was reading only to find when I opened it again my place had not been saved! Replace this POS with the former app until you can get your act together enough to a least make a functional app if you're so determined to have pretty pictures
  • Great...when it works 1/5

    By Jda5id
No longer works offline. Huge fail. I've got issues downloaded and it says there aren't any. Used to love this app for travel, but now is useless.
  • New iteration 2/5

    By Podren
Current version does allow reading in the ipad in the landscape mode, but does not keep its place, so when you open it again, you must thumb through and try to find your place. Come on guys!
  • Love it 5/5

    By Qris McAwesome
Has everything I need, load time is quick, super user friendly. 👍🏻
  • Good update 5/5

    By Mazureth
Great app. Works on my iPhone and iPad. I really like the reader view, makes reading really easy
  • Very good App - before Sept 2017 4/5

    By Great_AZ
Great app before September 2017. The best magazine app I have used. Now it is hard to navigate, reader mode doesn't appear to work and the font size is even smaller. A change for the worse!
  • New update is a step backwards 1/5

    By JoeLob22
The app is now much slower at downloading issues In the upgrade the foolish designers erased all my unread issues New downloads freeze 90% complete What crap Will probably not re-subscribe Not a professional organization like it used to be
  • Downgrade from Prior Version 1/5

    By Étude71
This was prematurely released. Reader Mode is nonexistent. It's PDF version of the hard copy issue. Painful to navigate and read the articles. Please bring back the older version.
  • Reader Mode for iPad 3/5

    By merkhet
The reader mode for iPad doesn't seem to work, and the formatting of the magazine for the iPad has been modified to be a worse user experience than before!
  • Does not rotate 3/5

    By LiveMusicHound
App feels old as it does not rotate.
  • Terrible for digital only 1/5

    By NewYork4078
Takes forever to figure out how to log in, etc.
  • So far, So good! 5/5

    By GregoryIrish1960
I only started reading Fortune on my iPad Pro a day ado but so far I really enjoy it. Easy to use too.
  • So far so good 5/5

    By Skeep512
Day one- good app, thus far.
  • Fortune App 5/5

    By Bro Derek S Craig
I love it. I'm getting my MBA. Many of my colleagues and friends have recommended Fortune to me. The app is a great compliment to the print version. You can across all devices as well. The app seems to work great i.e. No freeze ups.
  • Lacks customer service 3/5

    By Susan Mango Curtis
Try to create a password so that if I wanted to load on my phone for another iPad I own I could use it. Found it impossible to do so other than that I love the magazine.
  • Great Quality-Challenging Navigation 3/5

    By JShough
Really enjoy the quality of production and article contents. However, navigation and flexibility leave a lot to be desired. Overall, good quality and substance.
  • I don't like the format 2/5

    By Some Wise Guy
I don't like the way this app is set up. Instead of having to download each magazine, I'd like to read each individual article in a format more appropriate for my phone. The words in this app are almost too small to read.
  • horrible! 1/5

    By inman girl
if you have a subscription where digital is included - impossible to get. can't seem to login to establish account, never received an account number from fortune, can't send an email to fortune (doesn't seem to work) to complain and ask for help. I will try with the phone tomorrow but so far the technology to sign up is very poor.
  • Fortune Magazine Application 5/5

    By Arnaudv27
This is one of the best applications I have ever used on the IPhone 7. This application realistically translates the magazine experience the an electronic version on the phone. The earlier versions of this app were very clunky, but this is now much improved. Congrats to Fortune Magazine. Arnaud Viviers
  • Very disappointed 1/5

    By Fairport Mike
It simply doesn't work. Even though I have a subscription, which the app itself will confirm when I click the Subscribe link, I can't get to the issues.
  • This app is ridiculous 1/5

By does hannah really live in montana
Doesn't work. I added a digital subscription to my print and attempted to access it to no avail. After wasting an hour I called and cancelled my digital subscription. Again, all within an hour. Surprising that a name like Fortune would be so out of it???
  • Buggy 4/5

    By musicianeer
Sometimes slow and buggy. I want landscape mode!
  • No landscape 1/5

    By I love Amrerica
    Why not?
  • Cancelled 2/5

    By GBC151
Why no landscape mode. With all the keyboards and iPad Pro marketing featuring this sideways mode, how hard could it be to accommodate? I cancelled after first edition.
  • Easy Reading 4/5

    By Garage Sale redux
App works well. No major issues experienced in past two months of sporadic use. More intensive use might reveal flaws. I use to read content, view included photos and respond to questions and comments.
  • Similar digital experience to iPad 4/5

    By Quickgun
Works great but no landscape mode. Better have great eyesight.
  • Excellent Magazine App 5/5

    By rbdjr
Easy to navigate and the extras make it a great upgrade from the mag. Scrolling sidebars, videos, extra stories, I would highly recommend it.
  • Great companion for my subscription 4/5

    By Gh2h
I love this app. I have not had any issues so far. I can access the magazine from iPhone and iPad. I would love to see an an option to read this in iBooks app. I wish there was Newsstand App for MacBook too. Is there a way to be notified when new magazine is available for download? Thank you.
