Frozen City app reviews

  • Rip off with no resolution 1/5

    By lcoffey420
Loved this game when I first started, but it became a rip off real quick. Spent money on gems for them to not even help out when needed, the events are a rip off b/c they don’t even give you the profit money you earned. I’m off the game for 2 hours and my survivors are all dying. Emailed support staff, and received a generic (probably automated) response they were sorry for the inconvenience and will fix the problem, but they didn’t and didn’t even reimburse me for what I lost either. If it ran like it was supposed to it would be a great game.
  • great game 4/5

hey i love your game i have no problems with it i just was thinking the game would be even better to play with friends as well, like an alliance or clan but i love the game it really takes up a lot of my time
  • Fun game, but a few issues overall. 3/5

Among thousands of ad-riddled brain dead click games, you’ll be hard pressed to find a fun and decent (and free) mobile game like Frozen City. It brings all the fun of resource management and adventure into a fun, visually interesting package. However, one of the really glaring issues with this game is the reliance on pure luck (or just spending real money, imagine that!) in order to make any meaningful progress in “later” points of the game. I say “later” in quotations because I’m on the third city and I’m already running into big issues. Primarily, the Heroes. In the second city, they introduce Heroes as a mechanic that allows for boosted production of your materials. While this is a really good system that I think would work well if done right, it suffers from the problem of being entirely luck based. These Heroes ONLY come from boxes, which you do get a free one every few hours and you can also earn an extra free one by watching an add. However, some buildings require Epic Heroes, and these are FAR less likely to drop from the free boxes. Not that they won’t, but the chance is significantly reduced. Great example, I’ve opened up 15-20 free boxes in the last few days. There’s two specific Heroes I need in order to actually meaningfully produce the resources I need to continue. However, they just don’t drop. But the second I spend my gems (which I had been saving up, I didn’t spend any real money), I instantly got one of the two heroes. Without these Heroes, your production is severely crippled. Not only because they provide a passive multiplier to your production, but you also can only have one worker in that building unless you have the Hero, which only makes it severely more difficult. I’d love to say I think they’d fix this issue, but truthfully I suspect this is how it was designed. This is how they want you to spend money, by being so frustrated at not being able to actually get anything done that you just spend a few dollars on gems to open up a box and get your Hero. If they would at least make it easier to get those lower-tier boxes (IE, don’t limit ad watching to just 1 extra box per cooldown) it would probably be a lot less frustrating. But otherwise, it really is a fun game and if they’d fix this issue, I would rate 5 stars all day long.
  • Heroes = Zeros 2/5

    By EBannack
Great game… until you hit the Hero paywall. Let me explain. The game has a great concept, and it’s very fun when you start. Graphics are nice, and even has a neat little storyline. Then you come to the 3rd city, which is where you’re meant to shell out several bucks. I paid for the beginner’s pack, which gets you started with some Hero cards and diamonds, but then when you get past the tutorial cities, the game limits the amount of resources you can earn by requiring a Hero for you to hire more workers to a certain resource mine. Unless you pay, that Hero will NOT show up. I opened several boxes through task progression and the 8hr chests in the shop (plus the ad chest), and the Hero you need most will NOT come. Convenient. Love the concept of the game, but that paywall is a slap to the face, especially for players who spent money early on.
  • Seems pretty good 4/5

    By Goaliegamer74
About 45 mins in. Seems like a solid game. Not as much ressource management as is like (don’t have to worry about actual trees or animals, it’s just generated at a building) but still pretty good
  • Great 5/5

    By HaydenT15
    Love this game
  • Perfect 5/5

    By I've good do
Love it I am addicted to it
  • Gave it a try…. 3/5

    By nogrease
While the game has potential, it’s real issue is that it quickly becomes p2p by making resources impossible to farm. Not impressed. Moving on.
  • Decent 3/5

    By Bman brendan
Started out as a fun game once you get to third village you gotta purchase packs to unlock the hero’s you need. Guess there’s no ads so you gotta settle for something. Still a fun game to mess around with
  • Pig 5/5

    By ohio69692121
    Amazingly okay
  • Gets very pay to play quick. 3/5

    By dubblechzburger
The game was super fun and the one thing I enjoyed in the first two cities was you earned enough diamonds to get packs occasionally but it didn’t feel like you needed to be pay to play. Now, in the third city, you can’t have a second iron mine worker unless you have the purple hero associated with it and after 5 days of pulling dozens of blue and multiple purple and gold hero boxes, the RNG is so bad that the purple guy hasn’t been acquired and the game is just at halt right now. Only being able to make 300 iron because you’re limited to one worker when upgrades take hundreds of thousands of iron just makes the game crawl at a snails pace. And all you can do is keep paying real money for a seemingly 1% chance to hit this character.
  • Too expensive 2/5

    By J_Buddha
Wanna get rid of ads? Sure! Only $9.99/WEEK. Per week? What were they thinking? And if you want to do anything past the 2nd village you’d better be ready to pony up another $15/mo otherwise you’re basically just stuck.
  • Pay to play 1/5

    By DCfromtheAV
Fun game besides experience gained for Hero’s it’s too expensive and sometimes the game will not gift you the hero to progress along the story line unless you pay for it. Not worth the time.
  • Great game, One big flaw though. 3/5

    By NDawg001
It’s all great up until the point you get to plain city and you have to either pay to get crates, or wait 8 hours just to open a crate. Just to get a hero so I can have more workers. I have buildings with 4 machines but only one worker because I keep getting the same hero in the boxes. So pretty much pointless. Not to mention not only do you have to get the hero, you have to upgrade them to certain levels for certain numbers of workers in each building. Lvl 8 for 2 workers, lvl 11 for 3, level 14 for 4. So on and so forth. If the whole hero // hero leveling thing wasn’t blocking you from having enough workers to upgrade anything at this point, either taken out completely, or reworked in some sort of way that you’re not dang near creating a pay wall in your game, it would be a 5 star for sure.
  • Invisible paywall after city #3 1/5

    By CaptZeep
Invisible paywall after you reach a certain point, avoid this game
  • Meeeh 2/5

    By bsjfkfkgkjff
It’s repetitive and gets old and the farther you make it the longer it takes to produce resources which is beyond annoying. Not worth the download to be honest
  • Unless your wallet is open, don’t bother 2/5

    By Zul_5
Like always with these types of games, you will not succeed past a few cities unless you pay to play. There will be riots in the streets just because you don’t get the hero’s needed so you can level up.
  • Really fun game 5/5

    By yeyeuueyyey62626/))
I was bored of playing Roblox I found this game it’s really fun
  • Trash 1/5

    By kiefda2tymer
Once you get to the 3rd city progression is slower then a turtle in mud, you will be playing for days to get a card if your lucky it’s really trying to scam you into spending money I thought it was a good game til I’ll been on the same board for ago 4 days and still in the same spot, I’ll probably end up deleting the app cuz it’s not worth it, if they didn’t card them cards holding me back then this would’ve been a good game
  • Survivor sim game with a fantasy element 5/5

    By PSG1500
This has got to be the best way to use the fantasy genre in a survival management game as the survivors are not only trying to survive the elements but they are looking for what the call the enteral flame this game blends survival and fantasy very well
  • I Won’t Play but You Do You 3/5

    By Kelliebugable
Interested in the game by its depiction in pictures and description of play. Unable to play because, upon opening the app after download, an immediate message links to the Privacy Policy which I read and do not permit. So. For anyone who chances upon this game, if you review the PP and do not mind it, go ahead and try the game. I give three stars because of my initial interest in the game even though I am blocked because of the PP. C’est la vie.
  • Could be great, but $$$ 1/5

    By Junior012
Game is just another p2w game like Ark of War etc. Ads are misleading. Makes you think you’re gonna play a mobile version of steampunk. Alas, it’s just another cash grab.
  • Game completely wipes purchases and data when used between devices 1/5

    By Marcothy
Games linked between my iCloud account. Spent some money. Things going well. Access from the other device and now everything is reset on both devices as if I’ve done nothing and spent nothing.
  • GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY 3/5

    By moparjoe77
The game is great but whenever an event happens people like to just buy there way to the top so i spent like $20 and got my gems started to buy 5 hour boost and they were stuck at same amount closed app multiple times nothing deleted the game nothing then again and i go back to the event and they give me 8x 30 minutes of boost and 5x 120 minutes of boost idk about you but that doesn’t add up yall goofy fr😂
  • This hero thing is the reason why I’ve deleted the game. 1/5

    By Timothey055
I understand that they want me to spend money, but seriously no heroes no game. One building in the middle of the chain with only one worker and hero never showed up.
  • Event multiplier 3/5

    By Supernova0226
The event multiple does not work
  • Unplayable after Plain City 3/5

    By Pixelgamerguy21
The game goes smooth until you hit Plain City. This is where everything requires heroes, no big deal right? Until you realize that you have such a low chance of getting the required ones. This stalls progress by days, weeks. They make you buy gems to get the heroes guaranteed to you. These people are cheap and can not have people finish their game without spending money.
  • Отлично 5/5

    By khalanov11
Игра берет своей простой, очень сильно радует отсутствие рекламы
  • Great in the beginning 1/5

    By 1&2 3&4 5 6
After a few cities, it really slows down. By City 9, it is hopeless!
  • Good game I guess 3/5

    By JacobW17
The game is a great concept and fun to play but I am unable to progress because I can’t unlock all the heroes, it’s gotten to the point where I’m losing resources everyday. I have been opening the free chests for a week but no luck getting the last hero I need. There needs to be a way for the heroes to be a part of the progression not luck.
  • Waste of time and money 1/5

    By Kcorn4545
It’s a super chill and relaxing game until you progress a few cities. Then it turns super stressful and almost impossible. Even if you decide to spend money on gems and chests, you aren’t guaranteed a hero you need, so don’t throw your money away Customer service is a joke. I sent in a question about hero’s and they closed the ticket before even talking to me If you complain about the lack of hero’s they basically tell you to get over it and that it’s RNG. Usually RNG games will at least show you the odds of getting whatever it is you’re trying to get.
  • Starts off good 2/5

    By StanStemp
Already in to the 3rd town and the game is now a chore instead of fun… up until the 3rd town it took decisions and upgrading the right aspects to make things happen… 3rd town now introduces you to the idea of needed to buy cards to get the correct people to increase production on main resources… you don’t have to… but you need to check the game and bank out every two hours… still would take days or weeks… The idea of hero cards was a stretch, but I just don’t feel this game is good enough to throw money at it… so at this point… probably going to uninstall after it gets a tad more boring just waiting.
  • Frozen city 5/5

    By kkjjljk
So fun and I can do so much get this game so flipping fun
  • Fun game, stupid concepts 3/5

    By reaper572
I really enjoyed this game up until the third town. I didn’t have a hero to put at the iron mine and I haven’t came across him in two days. I have ample workers but I can’t progress because of one hero. And I’m not spending money to try and pull him from a chest. This definitely needs to be changed and hero’s that go to a location need to be added in the story.
  • Claim prizes 1/5

    By lkjhgfpoiuyt
Take so long to claim prizes, now im waiting about 30 mins! And still get nothing!
  • Review 5/5

    By KienTheBean
Really fun game. Very easy to use and pick up where you left off without having to restart the whole app.
  • Pay to win 3/5

    By JuanO_OnauJ
  • Fun 4/5

    By Thylacos
I’m enjoying the game a lot, it starts you off easy with barely anything so you can understand the mechanics of the game. Each city you get to it let’s you have more control of what you are doing. The only thing I don’t like is once you hit city 3 it gets very slow and hardly any return. Other then that it’s a great game, just needs improvements
  • Don’t waste your time. 1/5

    By archero 007
The game will only let you advance but so far. Pay to go further. Even after watching all the adds. Lame game.
  • Pay-to-win 2/5

    By GoT2DiE
Would be a 4.5 to 5 star game if it wasn’t for the fact that you literally hit a point just a few towns in that it becomes pay to win. I have my hunting cabin and kitchen maxed out for the city but most of my people are still hungry and dying off. Not that I think there is really any penalty but when I make sure to max it out, they shouldn’t be hungry and dying. I guess I could even understand it if the ones were working extra shifts but they are not.
  • It only works if you pay 1/5

    By MateusG
Yes, unfortunately this game only works if you pay. You will go from a nice moment of good looking graphics to a never ending nightmare of stuckness. This game will force you to buy its extra champions/chests to free you up. Don’t even start playing. Don’t waste your time. Unfairness behavior from the developers (even if you’re willing to wait more time to go to the next city). It will prevent you to do that!
  • Just another misleading game 2/5

    By adam6408
The game is not what it is marketed to be. You follow a tight script. There is no strategy to this game. Be the third town you are pretty much required to actually purchase why are called heroes in order to progress in the game. The game is purely designed to get you to make in game purchases. I strongly advise you to not spend your time on this game.
  • Hidden Paywall 1/5

    By Manni Lopez
Ive tried it on 4 separate accounts and can confirm they have a hidden paywall. Each city has a specific character locked that they make you believe you can get from a chest, but you can open 50+ chests and wont get the character unless you spend any type of money on the game. First trial I went 28 chests without the blacksmith in the 4th city. Bought the $1 gems package, got him immediately after. Decided to run the test on other accounts and each had the same result. Went 15, 32, & 20 chests without the character, got him immediately after spending $1 on each account. Im sure it only gets worse the further you get and after reviewing the tos, this is definitely shady business practices. They have to legally mention these invisible paywalls somewhere in the ToS & they didnt mention it in any of the first 80 pages read.
  • Too Hero Reliant 2/5

    By bcndjwjennc
I did really love this game, but the fact that it’s so reliant on specific heroes to get anything going in the shops has stopped me from playing. I’ve been stuck in City 3 for almost 2 weeks and it’s gotten really annoying to play because without him I can’t make enough material to advance in the game. Today is the last day I will be playing this.
  • Unable to Play 1/5

    By MrsLong84
I am not sure what’s going on with the game but I haven’t been able to play in awhile. It stays in the loading page. Unfortunately I’ll have to delete the game. I have emailed about the issue before but no response.
  • Won’t load 1/5

    By 3edcCDE#
This game is fun when it loads. It’s frustrating when an event is going on and the game won’t load for 12+ hours and progress is lost! Do better!!
  • Great game just one thing holding it back 4/5

    By Statric0
Please make it so the whole entire games doesnt revolve around pulling heroes to be able to add more people. Ive been stuck at the same spot for 5 days now all because the iron mine guy hasnt shown up yet and the free box hasnt given me anything half decent. Even when i did finally hit 350 gems and bought the epic card box it just gave me a duplicate. Please fix this and the game will be great.
  • Hit the paywall within a day 1/5

    By Zefier543
The game depends on heroes to upgrade buildings rather than supplementing production. The game gives 1 hero card every 8 hours and it can be a duplicate. The devs were too greedy.
  • Pay to win 2/5

    By Brimmley
I really enjoy this game. I like playing it. I would do 5 stars. However, I progressed in the game to a point where I needed a specific card to keep progress further. I ended up having to purchase a pack that had said card. Now I’ve moved on a more in the game and am coming across the same thing. I will not be spending more money.
