Crashes will lose you hours of saved work 1/5
By The Young DJ
After spending hours making a song on the app, it suddenly decided to crash after hooking up a Bluetooth device to it. Be sure to save your work constantly otherwise you will lose anything you make.
Great app. Minor bugs. 4/5
I have used this app for about a year and a half and I can say that this is a great app that works well. However, there is a bug whenever importing apple loops into the sampler that happens that causes the loop to go completely silent.
In a future update, I hope that you can import any sort of sound (i.e. .wav etc) into the sampler and import sounds for the camera roll and the internet.
The instruments are great and all, but there are a few things that I would like to see in the future:
-solo instruments (such as solo violin and solo cello.) Currently, there are options to isolate whatever instrument of the string section you desire, but an option for solo strings would be great for writing chamber music or just solos
-more than just a generic “brass ensemble,” we already have French horns, which is strange that they added French horns and no other brass
-mallet instruments other than the ones included in the toy box pack, after all, it couldn’t be that hard to make.
-more options for tone on guitar and bass
-pop and slap for bass and guitar
Perhaps all this is too much to ask, but it would certainly be appreciated!
I have been using the app forever making songs when I have nothing to do but now it won’t work I’ve done everything the apple support says and it doesn’t fix anything so it’s unusable

This app is awsome but just a few bad sides u can NOT use headphones or a Mic stupid.
Apple Music Not Compatible? 3/5
I would have rated 5 stars but one of the main reasons I bought this app was because of the Sampler option to import songs from iTunes and edit them on the keyboard. I just found out that I can only use about 50-100 of my songs (purchased separately) because the other some odd 3000 songs were purchased via Apple Music and not bought individually. I would really like this to be fixed so I can use every song in Sampler. Thank you.
Import desktop projects 4/5
Import and export Mac OS desktop projects seamlessly please.

Great app! Would recommend!
It’s amazing i love the music you can make!
Can y’all add the option to add a minilab Mk2 or where you can add a piano option to play. Since I already have a plug in but not the option inside the app.
Such a good game 5/5
Makes no sense!!!!

No master mix option 4/5
There’s a way you can somewhat master mix by recording an FX track and deleting the recorded part and then using the visual eq on it to master eq....but it only lets you use one effect which is the visual eq and also there’s no master volume and this is more of a way to rig a master eq when I don’t get why it wouldn’t just be an option. Would it of killed the developers to simply show a master track. Having a master track I’d give it 5 stars but no master track I give it 4 cause as far as mobile recording technology goes this app is pretty awesome. Just add a master track option please.
I only had to delete it cuz I had no more space for tracks 5/5

When I downloaded this app, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make anything old school hip hop related. However, I made everything work. I released a beat tape that I decided to name “Sounds Somewhat Like Dilla”, because of the amount of the instrumentals that used inspiration from The Great Boom Bap Producer, J Dilla, and I produced 4 beats for my brother to make our collab tape. I have produced hundreds of instrumentals over just 8 months. I have lived most of my early production career on this app and it is hard to say goodbye. Thank you, apple, for actually making packs that can create a good Old School Instrumental sound. I might end up getting a Native Instruments Machine MK3 or MK2, which I might get next year, but my experiences here will always stay in my memories

PLEASE DO THIS 5/5
I really hope the developers of GarageBand put TRAP music sound effects in the hip hop loops or something at least and please put voice changers like auto tune and stuff like that cause I'm trying to make a real trap/hip hop song on here but there is no way. PLEASE SEE THIS

Ok I been using this app for almost 4 years, then all The sudden I’m dealing with some unnecessary issues like for example.. every single time I try to edit my projects I able to correct my mistakes with no problem.... all the sudden my projects keep disappearing...when I try to open the app even I try to create another project or deleting most of my other softwares on iPad or whatever device you use and is still keep saying storage is nearly full which is making it more difficult to try solve a problem then try not making it worst I just hope there’s new update sometime this point and hopefully they fix these issues before thinking about not using it again... I hope I didn’t offended anyone because of my criticism it’s a basic and the best app that you can easily produce your projects but other then that I hope everything will be back to normal As Soon As Possible.
Why can’t I do harmony without “optimizing performance” 3/5
Hi, I have a huge problem with this app and I need answers now. I love this app. I love making my own covers of songs using the instruments and voice recorder. But there is a problem. Usually when I try adding harmony to my songs, the recorder counts down 1 and then stops, and then the optimizing performance comes up, and then I can’t play or record. I go back out of my song to try to fix it, but then once I go back, the app crashes and after it crashes it still won’t work and it goes in a pattern. Please fix this bug so that I can use the app normally again. P.S I’m using an iPhone 6s.
STOPPED PLAYING MY TRACKS 😡 2/5
I am a musician, I use GarageBand very frequently, and I’m very frustrated with it right now. Actually, I’m often frustrated because GarageBand has ridiculous requirements of available storage to be able to “optimize” a song, and often after “optimizing” some of my tracks don’t play at all. I want controls in settings for the “optimization” process, to be able to not automatically “optimize,” which is often buggy and a waste of time, and instead I’d like to be able to manually optimize from settings at my discretion.
What has frustrated me today is the undying persistence of the app’s refusal to play any vocal tracks. Which is kind of important for a songwriter. And, as coincidence would have it, this problem came up right after “optimizing.” I closed and re-opened the app. I restarted my iPad. Several times. Still, GarageBand refused to play tracks. I only have about an hour a day to work on my projects, and it’s very frustrating to have that time WASTED by “optimization” and app failure.
The first thing you can do to fix my dissatisfaction with this app is respond to this review so that I know someone saw it. If you have any quick fixes in the app or on my iPad that I can do to solve the problem, I’d love to hear. But if not, please fix the app. The last Apple device I’m holding onto is this iPad, just for GarageBand, and if it’s not going to work then I have no reason to continue using Apple products of any kind.

Why Won’t it delete and comeback 5/5
By Tyler, The Sheator
So a good month ago I deleted GarageBand because it was taking up too much storage. Then a random box would appear on my home screen that say “MobileGarageBand” and when I click it a black screen appears, and it takes me back to my homepage. When I go to the App Store and look
Up the app it just says open. When I click open it does the same thing. How do I get the app back??
Needs new stuff 4/5
Just needs more Instruments
GB keeps me sane 5/5
I love the app! Being able to express myself through music in an inexpensive way is something I’ll always cherish. Recently GB had an update that added percussion loops like “Quincy” I think these inserts may be too complex for this version of the app because every time I change the length of my recording, the app will freeze for about 30 seconds. Not really a huge issue but very frustrating. Will you guys try to work that out?
Not sure why Apple forces you to have this app then it updates all the time and updates are over 150 mb so you have to connect to internet. Which brings me to the next complaint. I pay good money for unlimited data on my phone as most people do these days. Not sure why Apple assumes everyone has household WiFi with unlimited data to download all of this crap. Still haven’t updated to iOS 12 because of this. Apple needs to fix it. (Rant over)
I love this app, it’s my favorite app for music making

Amazing app, it is easy to use but it is pretty hard to get “real” sounding music. I love the app and strongly recommended it if you want to make some really cool and interesting music.
Read this 5/5
This app is great but there’s one problem, there’s no orchestra hit instruments.
Great app 5/5
This is a really great app, been using it since these last 2 yrs and still continue using it, It’s really great when I have to leave home or on the road I can easily pull out my iPad and make a beat right there.

I have over 10 GB left on my iPad but it’s telling me I don’t have enough storage? The description says its only a little bit over 1 GB. This is ridiculous.
Interface on iPad needs improvement 3/5
By I own the pc version
First, I give an app 5 stars if I always think to want to use if. 3 stars is for an app that is ok, but nothing I reach for often.
That is the case with Garageband on iPad, specifically on my iPad pro 13”. The interface just wastes space like none other. For instance, if I want to add a new instrument, a flyout window slides across the entire screen, blocking the view of the playlist. From there, you need to swipe through a different full screen page, where each page = 1 option. A page to add an au/iaa, a page to add a drum kit, a page for an amp module. Why are they not just listed next to the track on the playlist with a drop down menu?
Some fly out windows, like when selecting an audio track, take up 3/4 of the screen but have only 5 controls. It really makes if difficult to use. Plus, all these page and transition animations have built in fade in/out effects making the app feel even slower that it should. Maybe an option to turn off UI animations would help as it would let those whose brains fire faster than a battery operated toaster perform more actions, faster.
Also, and a huge issue, there is no traditional mixer view. Besides that, the sounds are great and you get a slimmed down version of Alchemy. Projects can be imported into Logic Pro, which is one of the main reasons I am trying to get this app to grow on me.
Garage Band Review 4/5
By Jackson Baer1
Honestly I can say that I love garage band. It’s free to use and easier to navigate than most music software. There is one small complaint I have though. I like to make underground hip hop style beats but, even with all the free sound packs GarageBand gives you, it’s not the style I want. The high hats I am fine with but the snares I have to use the Sampler to use and with the kicks, there is only a few good kicks in the apple loops. I would love to see a Drum Pack that has not so compressed and hard hitting kicks and, nice snares like from Lex Luger. If that were to happen then it would make my music sound better and not so hard to create and that is why I am giving it 4 stars otherwise if it were to include all of this, then it would get an easy 5 stars. Please add some more dark, hard, and
Lo-fi style kits.
Great App but I have a suggestion 4/5
By parrot 105
There should be a pop sound pack and a reggae sound pack
There already is Reggaeton pop but there should be a normal pop as well and I am sad that there isn’t reggae. There should also be Japanese rock, Chinese rock, and heavy metal sound sound packs.
Suddenly stopped opening 1/5
The app suddenly stopped running today on my iPhone no matter how hard I try. It stuck at the gray screen and nothing.
Amazing app I love it!!!! 5/5
This is such a nice app!! I can’t stop making music with this it’s so cool I just love how I can make music!! I’ve been playing this game Since I got it!! I really love this and I’ve been doing a lot of songs!! I love it!!!!!i also like how you can pick your own instrument and how it has an amazing sound! I can practice and play with
This all day!!
More instruments plz 5/5
They really need to add instruments like tuba,French horn, baritone, trombone, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophones(like the bari sax and alto sax), and the bass clarinet tell me what I missed but yeah it’s still great and there might be a pack for that so yeah add me on Fortnite with the name TacoMan51707
This app is great but... 4/5
So I’ve been using this app for a few years now and I gotta say it’s been treating me very good lately.. the only problem I have is that there should definitely be more live instruments. There is already a great amount but I’m talking about something like trumpets, accordion, saxophones, stuff like that so that people can get around different types/styles of music. I would really love to see this. Thank you!
The app has so many glitches now 4/5
The app is still great, and has lots of potential
-More hard hitting bass/808s
-A sampler that can play different parts of a sample. Kinda like the MPC3000
(People would be more than willing to pay for this including me)
Conclusion: I think if you guy’s invested more on the current Hip Hop sound then GarageBand would get much more attention. There is already a community of YouTubers who make Hip Hop instrumentals through Garageband! I hope you listen to my suggestions.
Don’t Create Any Music iOS 1/5
Of All of my days of producing music on the road creating music for a living is my passion if I had an idea I use this module being that I’m on the go I need quick hands on from the ideas I need to jot down. Every bar I need get immediately deleted I have plenty of space on my phone it may be GarageBand can’t keep up if what I’m trying to compose it’s whipped slate clean like I never made a project. You guys need to fix this problem I’m afraid I’m going have to go back on my laptop and use fruity loops and cake walk again.
NOT WORKING 1/5
The GarageBand app isn’t working because every time that I try and play an instrument it just shows up black. No instrument. I don’t know why it’s not working. I just want to make some beats but the app isn’t cooperating with me. SEND HELP PLEASE!!
Add saxophone and more guitar keyboard sound 5/5
By for the most part
This is the best app ever! I’ve made lots of cool stuff on it. I think that more keyboard sounds would be nice, like saxophone, trombone, trumpet, etc. Alsosome more varieties of guitars like jazz or funk would be nice. overall awesome!

This app is very great, but it needs some update because of very hard control. I think it needs upgrading.
In other things the app is ok.

Need sidechain!!! 4/5
Would be awesome if their would be sidechain
This app is amazing. Me and my father are songwriters and we put together music for an idea on GarageBand because it’s just the best. The music, if you do it right, sounds so professional and I cannot stop thinking about what to write about next and when I’m going to use this synthesizer or which bass guitar to use and such. Also, I love the huge variety of instruments and types of those instruments to use. Sometimes, I end up playing around instead of writing music because the options are just so varied, in a great way of course.
