Very good 5/5
Love the system
S60 watch 5/5
Accurate and easy to use. Great statistics and feed back. Well worth it.
By zzaa p
I run this app with S20 and Iphone8
The watch connecting to phone has had issues in past, newest issue is getting saved round into Golf application
Using the connect app that transfers to golf app is jot working, golf app just grinds in transfer without a time out or error message
Also wonder why i cant comment without giving any stars
All-Round Great Golf Tool 5/5
The app is a great tool to analyze your round & determine what’s working in your game & what you need to improve on. The numbers don’t lie. Great job Garmin.
S60 HRM and Garmin app 5/5
Love love love my s60!! I can easily track my stats whether on the golf course, the gym or just about anywhere!
Great for seeing post round stats 5/5
Perfect for tracking rounds and distances. Helps practice the game.
Vivoactive3 won’t connect 1/5
My vivoactive3 used to connect to this app. No longer does. The golf functionality was a big reason I bought this watch. Now considering getting rid of watch.
Come on Garmin! Hire some good developers!
Inaccurate course data 1/5
Inaccurate course appearance between their web service and this app.
Some courses are uselessly inaccurate but it appears correctly on the web. weird...
Pretty sweet. 4/5
By Gandolf the greasy
The Garmin Golf app rocks. I just got the starter kit CT10 sensors, and I paired them with my S60 watch. Pretty awesome to show your friends how you actually play, especially when your always bragging about that 300+ yard drive. The app shows you exactly where your shots went and how you shaped the shot. Pretty sweet app.
Love This Thing 5/5
I’ve only played 5-6 rounds with my new Garmin S60, but I totally dig it. I love having yardages in my wrist at all times, so I don’t have to pull out my phone or scope every time I need a distance. It also syncs really nice and gives you a great visual overview of your round on your smart phone (Garmin Golf app). I have 58 y/o eyes, so was a little curious how I would read it w/o readers, but it’s fine for me.
Couple minor drawbacks:
Plenty of juice for one full round. Touch & go on that second round, though. I keep a battery brick in my bag, just in case.
Also, you can zoom in a little and check yardage on that bunker or Creek, but it’s a little clunky for that. Not a smoothe pinch in/out for zoom.
All in all, definitely a good purchase.
BTW, I think you can get pretty much the same yardage functionality with Garmin’s more basic models for a cheaper price, but I was happy to pay more for the upgrade to Approach S60.
Great app! 5/5
With the Garmin approach I am able to sync my watch to the app and track my hits! Really helps in improving your game!
Accurate Readings & Beneficial Feedback 5/5
The CT10 capabilities are fantastic. The ability to review the shots by club and the stats showing max and average are very useful.
Not linking 2/5
The approach x40 doesn’t link so I can’t track shots. Not good
Not intuitive 3/5
By Your Cousin Fred
Watch not linking well with phone app, quickly losing interest
I like the way I download round from my watch and use it during round to
ARCCOS PLZ 3/5
Not happy with app for golf! I have the Fenx 5+ I wish you would make a widget for arccos plz!
Shot tracking not as good as before 1/5
Give me total distance to the flag. I can’t delete that shot or i lose some distances it has correctly. Either it got too sensitive or just misreading shots somehow. There is no reason there should be total distance to the hole shots detected. Please fix
Average Golfer 5/5
Been using the app for over one year its only flaw is sometimes it hangs when I add a new round. But I found a workaround, not the best but it works. I delete the app and reload it, then the round appears.
Doesn’t detect shots correctly. 1/5
I use the Garmin Fenix 5 and have tried several times to use the Garmin Golf App during a round. The app very often doesn’t record a shot or several shots and ends up skipping holes and having say 1 recorded shot on a par 5.
So very disappointing since a use the Fenix 5 often while playing golf.
Help from Garmin Support would be welcomed.
Poor Tech Support 2/5
My S20 stopped transferring scorecards to my iPhone after working perfectly for 2 years. I ask for help and all I get in return is a referral to Bluetooth pairing instructions.
Worst customer support ever 1/5
Problem with charging my watch has been ignored and passed on through different countries support. Not helpful at all, so much time needed on phone to try and solve something. Would not recommend at all based on the fact that if something goes wrong you are screwed.
Love my Garmin Golf but for some reason, my favorite course, doesn’t load correctly. The holes are wrong, the yardages are wrong... only at one course. If I play somewhere else, it’s great.. but at my favorite course, may as well leave it at home
Hazards Displayed Reduced 3/5
It used to show all the hazards on a hole. All I see now is the 1 hazard close to the green. What happened to the fairway hazards? Was rated a 5 before this change.
Good app 5/5
By SLC Jack
X40 watch 4/5
Pros: fairly accurate distance to holes, good sir distance measuring, like the scorekeeping and syncing to Garmin golf app which saves all your scorecards and stats. Bluetooth to phone let's you know when you get a call or text and every other notification which I don't like.
Cons: Hazard distances are not good and difficult to maneuver. Can't fine tooth notifications. Seems to be all or nothing. Can only get 2 round on a battery charge.
I really do like using the watch had a handheld Garmin gps and enjoy having the device on my wrist and not have to carry it.
I don't use the activity tracker so can't comment on that.
Simple and functional 5/5
I’ve been using the Garmin S20 for the better part of year, a friend told me about the Garmin Golf app within the last couple months, I feel like an idiot for not having been using the app along with the watch the entire time. It does a great job of journalizing your rounds, tracking stats and even calculating your handicap. I play 4 times a week, so I’ve developed a large sample size, the app let’s me know how far I hit each club, it tracks historical data where you can look up every shot you’ve played on a single hole over a period of time and it has greatly improved my course management and my overall scores. Great job keeping it simple and user friendly, even old people should be able to figure it out!! Lol
Can’t use it 1/5
Got an Approach S20. Set up in the Garmin app. However in the Golf app, there’s no devices. Click “Add” and it takes me to the Garmin app, where my watch is shown as connected. Yet the Golf app still doesn’t list it. Makes the app useless to me. A bug? Error? Issue on my part? No clue. Will change my review if this is fixed. Until then, one star for a useless app.
Not always accurate 3/5
Like the app and does have good information to track how my game is going but is not always accurate.
On many holes I notice that when my group is going to our shots I will stop prior to getting to my shot and wait as another member of my group hits their shot and then go to my ball and hit my next shot. For some reason the app reads that I hit a shot while I was waiting for the other member of my group to hit
Not a major issue but does make for not completely accurate data when reviewing my round.
It is good，and you can change it better
It’s basically an electric score card.. if the app would show your position on the hole and distance to the green, you would have something.
Awesome features! 5/5
The automatic shot tracking capability while playing a round is awesome. It shows each shot with distance and placement almost as if it were able to track the ball! Great for reviewing swing performance and course strategy.
As advertised 5/5
This app is very helpful when it comes to club selection.
Excellent applications 5/5
By Aced again
Great tool; some more features would be good 4/5
Love the watch and app. Excellent as fitness watch and golf tool. Outdoor be nice if possible to rectify shots and holes in the app after the fact.
Excellent Golf Aid 5/5
This watch is not only impressive looking, but highly functional. It greatly assists me when I am on the course. The only setback is that the lock sign comes on all the time and I am constantly fidgeting with it to enter my score. Otherwise, it is excellent.
It shows the layout of the hole, and you can keep score with it...not that great otherwise. Does not show distance from hole, only syncs with your device when you manually sync with it, the course layouts are low resolution. Just very not impressed overall. I thought it would be in constant sync with devise to show a map layout of where you are in the hole if you needed more information or detail on occasion than you had on your Fenix or Approach.
Good app, does the basics well 4/5
Good for keeping track of history of rounds, syncs well with Garmin watch. Could show more of round ranking and what impact is on handicap. Pictures of holes could be more interesting(ie satellite view). Overall does the job well.
Good app to review your round 4/5
The only thing missing from this app is the time round took to play. This is displayed after you save your round on the s20 but it is not transferred to the app. Please add on your next update. That gets you 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Why is there a problem? 1/5
Why is it when I open this app, my Garmin watch does not appear at the top. It just shows the plus icon (+). When I click the plus icon then it shows my watch is connected in the Garmin Connect app.
This is frustrating since it all used to work and now I don’t know why it’s not working.
Please fix it so we can use your app properly.
Just starting 5/5
Started using the app with a approach S60 watch. Early results are great. Presentation of stats and shot layout are informative. Looking to get a larger sample size to really get the most from tracking.
Ease of operation 4/5
Fairly easy to use but could use better, more detailed instructions in regard to specific tools within the app.
Great app 5/5
By Hoppy hoppy banana
Let's you keep track of your game strengths and weaknesses).
It is clear that if GPS were added there would be no need for a watch. If my Fenix HR had stats there’d be no need for the app.
So nice! 5/5
Does all I could ask for....10!
Great App! 5/5
By Va. Lou
I really like the functionality of this app. It is a teachings app for me.
What a tease! 2/5
When I got my s60 a couple months ago and started using the app I could add/delete shots to my scorecard when the round ended. Then after a recent update they removed this feature from the app but you can do it on the website.
Also now when you delete shots that assigned to the wrong hole, it removes that hole from the scorecard for editing. The score and stats for the hole is there but you just can't view that hole anymore. Does this on both the website and the app.
Also wish it would show all your clubs and the average distance like the website does.
Great App 5/5
One of the better golf apps around. User friendly, and tracks all statistics easily. You should definitely consider it.
SYNCING ISSUES 1/5
Having a big issue with syncing my scorecards. One scorecard finally appeared almost 2 weeks after I played the round. I recently chatted with Garmin support about syncing and other issues for 30 mins. They had me do some troubleshooting on my S20, and I’m still having problems. So annoying, once and for all, fix this Garmin!
