I love this app in theory, so much that I have signed up for premium twice. Unfortunately it only works once then doesn’t work again. I contacted customer service, who was very responsive in letting me know that it’s a known issue. 🤦🏻♀️ it’s unethical to keep taking peoples money if the app doesn’t work

It’ll automatically select new photos it finds as you’re selecting the ones to remove. Be careful or you may accidentally delete your photos. To the app maker: selecting new pics should not be the default, especially after someone has deselected all and is scrolling down.

I subscribed to this app (monthly charge) and have been (trying) to use it for several months and have had some issues with it. Lots of small glitches but still workable, if there was an issue I could usually find a workaround . I then ran into an issue that I couldn’t work around and needed help from support. I emailed and was told I would get a response within 48 hours. Didn’t happen. I emailed 2 more times over the course of the next two weeks asking for some kind of response so I know my issue has been seen and they are working on it. Nothing. After 2+ weeks I get an email with an apology and asking if I’m still having the same issue. Yes, yes I am. (If you had bothered to check my account before replying you would have known that). So they toss the ball back in my court and say I have 48 hours to respond before they “close the ticket”. Then, they close the ticket 24 hours later. I don’t check my email for a day (in remote area, no cell service) and I have an email response that they could have figured out themselves if they did 10 seconds of research, and an email closing the ticket that I inquired about multiple times for 2+ weeks. Such great customer service for an app I pay to use.

Signed up for free trial and luckily my credit card immediately sent me a message saying that this app charged me for an entire year. Also, the app is not very helpful at all even for free.
I needed to cancel this subscription- which is designed to confuse the person who downloads it to then trick them into an automatic renewal and obtain their money after 3 days. The reason I state this is because I just received a notification that this subscription was now a yearly one after the 3 day trial. This is not easily canceled during the trial period by accessing your subscriptions with your apple id- much like all subscriptions I have encountered. I actually decided I did not want this app during the first MINUTE of exploring it, but because I was at work and had an interruption at the time I wanted to go into my apple subscription section to cancel it, I forgot about it. When I finally headed to the subscription section, there was nothing related to this app. Out of sight, out of mind and the developers of this app are in a position to get exactly what they want: my money...seemingly.
Today is when I realize what is going on, after a notification, and that I actually have no idea how to cancel this. Then I come into the app, click the section to email support and after typing my message, I realize there is no email address in the top section. Therefore, I can type away but it will reach no destination. Already frustrated wondering if I’ll get charged, I decide to go into the reviews for the app to see if I manage to pick up an email address. I read through and sure enough find an email address for support after reading through one of the reviews and the comments from the developers. I attempted TWICE , and unsuccessfully, to send a message to support. Both times, the message did not go through. I recorded this process.
I just contacted apple and they took care of it and assured me that I haven’t been charged. I tried, UNSUCCESSFULLY, to send the information contained in this review to the apps support before DECIDING to post it here. I don’t take the time to write and leave reviews...ever.
The intrinsic or basic information, what customers actually need, is not easily found and this gives the app developers room to play with people and have people’s virtual wallet fall into a money pit. Unfortunately, it might not be perceived that way by the developers but there is room for your customers and POTENTIAL customers to feel that way. So, that and the initial reason for wanting to remove the app are plenty of reasons for most people to stay away from this app AT LEAST until they « de-blurr » lines and make basic information more clear and available.

My iCloud has been full for weeks and this app made it easy to finally clean out all the duplicate pictures and pictures I just didn’t need anymore. Finally something that can help me get my pictures organized.

Was to delete photos off your phone. It deleted the photo on the app but did not delete them off my photos so what the point

I had a subscription for monthly, then decided to buy a year. Now I’m getting charged for both and their customer service refers me to Apple, saying they have no control over charges. Apple sends me back to Gemini. Avoid this app! This has become a total nightmare.

The only good feature for this app is in the 3-line setting icon in top right. Well, it’s the DELETE PHOTO LIBRARY at very bottom… which does NOT work. A shame!
Misleading pricing 1/5
I’ll keep it short and effectively reiterate what a number of others have said:
1. The app doesn’t work without paying for it. You will however be allowed to select and move to trash photos easily and quickly. This does nothing. When you go to “empty trash” it will prompt you to pay. The pricing is excessive to say the least. You can buy an AAA game for PC or console for the price of the one time purchase ($34.99!!!) of this app or pay $3 per month or $12 per year forever.
2. Upon launching the app you’re bombarded with purchase options. It starts with the annual. When you close that it switches to the monthly. It then tries for a couple day trial where you’re automatically billed after three days. You have to get through all of this before you can even try out the functionality of the app.
I have no objection to paying for apps that serve a good purpose. This would be no exception. Had the pricing been fair. Overall the value isn’t there for an application like this.
Also if you want to get the trial / discount offers back you have to cancel your current subscription, uninstall the application, reinstall, and then you can access the original offers.
Overall the app feels very scammy and forces you to pay to even see how well it works.
I would strongly recommend reviewing your pricing model. Start with a trial that doesn’t auto bill me. Offer a subscription rate that’s more reasonable for an app of this type, and offer a buy to own price that’s more in line with other apps. $5-10 may have got my attention for a purchase. $35 is just silly. And offering this as a subscription seems silly when there’s little backend resources post purchase.

gemini is my favorite app! great for cleaning out my camera roll and an all around anxiety relieving app lol. i’d LOVEEE to see gemini develop similar features for videos, as i think that’d benefit lots of people including myself!

I am A subscribed user, and I can not use the app. Every time I open Gemini it crashes after the introduction. I have 10,000 between pictures and videos. It seems that it crashes while doing its search. I will cancel my subscription and delete the app although I had high hopes for it because I liked the clean app design.
