It is amazing because you can call your friends if they have Android. I have a Apple iPhone and I can call my friends who have Android.🤯
Why does it turn off my display? 1/5
I have no idea why this app turns off my display whenever Im in a call with somebody.
Screen freezes 3/5
Freezes sometimes !
This an amazing app but I think you guys could work on the blurriness it’s really hard sometimes to see people. This is not really a big deal but I wish you could do effects it would be really cool if you could add that to face time.Otherwise this app is really awesome!
Its ok 3/5

It lags, glitches, and sounds a little robotic.
But it works if you have decent WiFi

So, I’m talking with my friends and the audio cuts out in the middle of them talking. It just sounds like a robot.

Great app but a few problems 3/5
Google duo is a great app, but I have experienced a few problems. No matter what I try; I can’t sync my contacts. It just shows up as the person’s number. I’ve tried making another contact for them but it still does not work. I also cannot watch any of the videos I receive. It will not let me play the videos that people send. Please help me! Thank you!
Good but I did not talk much
Best app ever 5/5

It works well. I haven’t had an issue with it. I suggest you download it.
Very poor integration, buggy 2/5
By Tristan Berger
Others are right, the (voice and) video call quality is outstanding, but there is a long list of problems that have me going back to FaceTime despite its lower quality on poor connections.
This list of bugs is so bizarre that I feel I should put a disclaimer: I’m not somebody who’s perpetually having issues with technology, I’m a programmer, and I take excellent care of my phone and have never before experienced any of these bugs in other apps. My phone is an X, so, not flagship any more but also not some ancient device that may be slow or untested compared to what you should expect.
Duo mostly ignores the volume buttons. If the phone is on min volume Duo sounds like 70%, if it’s on max it sounds like it. If the person you’re talking to is also loud this is actually physically painful — if you then pull your AirPods out of your ears, Duo detects this and hangs up.
Ignores Do Not Disturb. This app will wake you up in the middle of the night and you can’t stop it except by uninstalling it.
Frequently sets the system alarm volume to 100%. I generally find out when my gentle morning alarm instead blasts me awake.
Doesn’t always ring. I don’t have this issue on my phone, but when I call people I need to text them telling them I’m calling otherwise they get no notification.
Calls sometimes drop. You could just call back, except it doesn’t notify you when calls drop. So you listen for calls going quiet, except sometimes audio drops then comes back. So you check the screen when audio drops, except the screen is often wrong. So you just wait.
When the audio resumes you might repeat yourself, except it just played a fast-forwarded recording of what you said while audio was out and now you’re being rude. So you don’t repeat yourself, except sometimes it doesn’t do the fast-forward and now you’re being rude. So you give up and request some response after every sentence, except instead of half-second “yep” breaks it’s 20 seconds because the audio is lagging so badly.
You do get an audio notification when your outgoing call is picked up. It’s at the wrong time, if you start talking when you hear it they won’t hear you.
You get notified of missed calls only if they connect. They recently removed the ability for the caller to tell whether a call failed to connect or rang but wasn’t picked up.
After each outgoing missed call you need to press a small button in a short time or you’re recording a voicemail. After you cancel the screen confirms it and the audio countdown stops, but the vibrations to go along with the audio play on through that countdown.
The entire phone screen flickers on and off while calling, even with the app in the background. When the screen turns back on after this, the brightness has often been set to max.
The app takes 1-6 seconds to respond to taps, depending on what you tapped. It must be used slowly and deliberately.
You can’t turn on speakerphone until the call has already been picked up.
Uses battery so fast the phone gets hot even when audio calling. Video call drain is much higher than FaceTime, and audio call drain is much much higher than calling or FaceTime audio.
The app sometimes keeps the screen from turning off when you’re just audio calling. If you hit the lock button to turn it off yourself, Duo detects this and hangs up.
Filters & Effects unavailable in video 1/5
Some users get Filters & Effects options for video messages, some don't. I don't. The forums are filled with posts notifying Google about this bug since Oct 2019, but Google hasn't been bothered in more than 4 months to address its users' concerns by fixing this.
