Suddenly developed problems 1/5
Not sure why but suddenly google keep doesn’t work well on my iPhone..especially since the last update. It locks up and won’t let me add anything. Constantly freezing and shutting itself down.
Love it 5/5
Taking notes like post-it and send those to google documents to create one text file is awesome feature
Security and variablity 2/5
1. Make it so that I can lock a note so that no one can see that note unless a password or pin is entered
2. They aren't a lot of note options and the options that are already there are too restrictive such as typing with bullet points makes me use bullet points every line, even when I don’t want to use it for every line
3. Broader array of functions and controls
App delay 2/5
Firstly, I Love this app. Always use this app for my notes and lists and others because it is a nice app for that. But now, when I open app, its take 20 or 30 second to get into my notes list on iphone 7. I wanna request u to fix that delay problem.
Great but still lacks dark mode 5/5
By Nk bellic
App is great for organizing, making to-do lists and plenty of things, i even have my own diary on it, but dark mode is still missing!
Always broken 1/5
Every time I try to share something to keep it freezes up the app I'm sharing from. Twice in the past year the developers managed to fix this for a few weeks before they release another update breaking the app again. I'm just astonished at the incompetence the devs have repeatedly shown and why they can't fix problem.
What is up with it needing to regularly refresh the app and taking so long to do so?
Right to left (Hebrew, Arabic) is not working well 2/5
RTL (right to left) is not supported well in the app and text is not aligned properly.
Great but still need improvement 3/5
By Mr. aml
It's a great note for synchronized to each other phone and sharing note between different account but location base reminder is not working as in iPhone reminder app.
Unlimited Tags Please! 4/5
I would use this app so much more if there were unlimited tags. The 99 tags limit is such a pain.
Please make note colors opaque 4/5
So glad to have dark mode but now the note colors appear translucent and dark and not as nice looking. Please make the notes opaque or at least offer the option.
What a mess! 2/5
No formatting. Poor excuse for automatic numbering. Nested indented items are poorly positioned. Checkbox and drag controls take up way too much space. This is not up to Google's usual standard.
Love the app, but it’s too slow 2/5
This is my favorite app and it is extremely useful, but it takes too long to load. It isn’t a WiFi problem. It is the app’s fault. I will continue to use it, but it’s frustrating.
A suggestion that I have is when I share a website to my Google Keep, I would appreciate a “pin” button at the time of posting.
doesn’t show up on my phone 3/5
when i went to check for my notes, they were missing. i later checked on my computer and they were there. i can see my notes on any device other than my phone.
Limited color choices and a bit buggy but overall a great app 4/5
The colors are a bit bright and the contrast of the black against them is jarring for my eyes. Would love to see more options for colored backgrounds. (This is not just a design option - it’s a functional feature bc it helps locate specific lists quickly when they are color coded.)
The app can be buggy and sometimes it crashes when I am adding items. But it’s not all that frequent.
Overall it’s an excellent tool to keep things organized. I recommend it to many people, especially teachers.
Not working on iwatch 4 1/5
Not working on Apple Watch 4
Hoarders beware 2/5
A useful concept, a free version of Evernote that integrates well with other Google apps?!
No. That's not this app. Keep is a light weight toy that's more like iOS Notes. However Notes performs, Keep will literally lock your whole phone for nearly a full 20 seconds before processing a command.
That's because, I'll admit, I love to keep digital artifacts. I keep articles, job postings, shopping links, all to come back to and inform a new decision. I work in marketing and it's useful to have great copy or designs to reference.
Keep can't keep up, simply can't hang. It offers one of the poorest user experiences out there and I think that's simply because it was never built to do what I think most people would love it to do: keep stuff. Keep is useful if you just want to jott something down quick and delete it soon after. I actually enjoy pen and paper for that!
Wish me luck, I'm about to clean out my sluggish Keep app and move over to Evernote.
Fix the connectivity issue 1/5
You guys are google. Cmon. Like. How hard can it be. To make. The app. Work. Like. It says it does. Is the divorce really making things this rough?
Not compatible with iOS 9 2/5
no reason to abandon millions of devices.
No badges, buggy repeat schedules, no Windows app 2/5
Reminders don’t trigger the badge counter on the app icon, so you don’t get the ongoing visual reminder that there are pending items.
After marking an item as done that has a repeat schedule, it frequently changes the next occurrence to a year away even if configured to occur every week.
No app for Windows, which impairs ability to continue to be productive with the tool across devices.
Useful and Customizable 4/5
By Upset history buff
I love using this app to keep myself organized. However I wish the block setting would allow you to put your notes in whatever order you wanted them, instead of shuffling the notes around out of the particular order you wanted. Otherwise I love this app, fun, easy and functional.
Love this app, but... 3/5
I love using this app, and it’s probably the most important one I use. I use it to organize artwork I’ve done, and inspiration for future drawings/paintings. The only issue I have is the app crashes VERY often. Tap to enlarge an image, crash. Add too many images, crash. Delete an image too soon after adding it, crash. I mean, it’s at the point where I have to stop using the app because I can’t get anything done without it crashing. Please fix the crashes or tell me what I’m doing wrong, because I really need this app.
Won't open and other issues 1/5
By Ed Zuchini
The current version won't stay open on screen. It crashes often. Can’t load notes I’ve made on my computer. This app is horrible.
I’m not going to say anything
Google's apps updates!!! 1/5
The only details they provide for all apps is : bug fixes and performance...
Is great but as a long term user this is long awaited feature 4/5
By Saif ibn yazan
We need undo button & more like a feature to make a note finished. (So even when we open a note and wont accidentally re-edits and change the edited date)
By Why expired?
Would love to be able to HIGHLIGHT a line in a note rather than make a separate note with a background color. Or BOLD. Or UNDERLINE. Something that would distinguish one line from another.
A Keeper 5/5
By Sandy seashore
i’m kinda perplexed by some of the complaints from recent reviewers. i’m low tech though & perhaps that’s to my advantage when it comes to this app because i’ve tried dozens like it over the course of my many years as an iphone haver & this app changed the game for me. i’ve had it a year or more and it’s given me exactly zero issues. it’s convenient, colorful, functional, & free. if i were you i’d download this sweet little widget wonder and if you don’t like it then delete it. i’m here to help & you are all welcome 😉
Missing Badge Notifications made this useless 2/5
I think there is potential for this app to be better than the apple reminders app, but there’s one glaring weakness- it won’t display a badge notification. So if your reminder goes off and you miss or don’t notice the banner, that’s it. There’s no red circle indicating something is overdue. I can’t recommend this app to anyone unless that feature gets added...it’s mind boggling to me that in 2019 an official google app wouldn’t have the standard notifications setup that even terrible knock-off game apps have.
Makes life easier 5/5
Thank you google! Keep up the great work! It would be great if you can let us choose a default label so I don’t have to keep labeling my notes and pics.
Used to be better 3/5
Used to be better, but now it’s gotten buggy. Every time I use it I get a notification that it needs to refresh and “may take a while”. Even after I hit refresh, it won’t go away and is a large and distracting bar that blocks what you’re trying to type since it’s directly above the keyboard. I also see no difference before and after it does refresh, and it literally shows up every time I open the app. If this would go away the app would be 5 stars, but lately it’s just so annoying to use.
weirdly limited 2/5
For example it’s not possible to attach a file to a note, there is no Mac app, and Apple Watch support is weirdly limited in terms of what notes you can see, editing, etc. You can’t even append to, or delete a note on Apple Watch. (If you want a notes app that supports the watch properly look to Drafts or Bear).
Crashes every app when used 1/5
I can’t believe the company is not fixed a bug that crashes every single app that you try to save material with out of Google Keep. Guys, it’s basically unusable. Can you fix it?
Good Application, But..... 3/5
I would love to have the option to set my notes up the way I want, not have the app arrange it for me. It would also be great to have the ability to assign a time reminder for each check box item, not just the whole note. I love being able to see the notes in different colors. Having the full page view and seeing different notes is perfect!
love love 5/5
This has become my FAVORITE app. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who wants to get organized.
Folders & Widget 3/5
Instead of a main page with notes all over the page, Google Keep needs folders much like Google Drive. It also needs a widget that displays reminders.
Excellent in principle but buggy on iPad 2/5
By Shenandoah Fisher
I moved to Keep from Evernote because I tend to go All Things Google to help with compatibility. It works great on my Pixel, but it’s buggy on the iPad. Worst part is just starting a new note! It rarely works, or just slowly when it does. Opening notes can be a challenge, too. Freezes up constantly.
Developers, please don’t give up on this app; I use for all sorts of notes, from work to travel to hobbies. I really like it on my MacBook Pro and my Pixel (although I do wish I could add a pdf to a note), just not on the iPad.
Hit and miss 2/5
Nice collaborative note application, but it frequently has bugs that make it unusable. I mostly use it for check lists. The latest update no longer allows me to unindent an subitem in the middle of a list to create a new top-level list; it just crashes the app. This fundamental regression reflects seriously poor quality control, and that makes me seriously question the integrity of my data. Suppose it’s time to look for a better alternative... again.
There’s so much more you should add to it! 4/5
By Sana Haider
I really love this app, because I can access the contents from my phone or laptop because it’s connected to my google account. For that, I have no complaints. However, I wish there were more customizable options when taking notes. To be able to bold or italicize your notes so that they are more easier to read and more organized (like the apple notes app!) I think this app is great to jot down quick notes, but it could be even better for the major neat freaks out there like me if there was more customization with the notes you are taking! If there are features to put notes under labels to organize it in that sense, it should have more document features a well!
This app used to work great, but now when I select a picture in my collections to look at more closely, it totally kicks me out of the app. Every. Single. Time.
Lengthen voice pause allowed. 1/5
By Hop on slop
Please allow a longer time for voice pauses when taking note. Extremely aggravating when stops after a split second when recording a voice note. Please allow it to be 10 or more seconds.
No Dark Mode 1/5
Google Keep v.s. Notes 5/5
Originally, I had the notes app that came with the apple phone. It was nice, but ran out of space very quickly. I have more notes on Google Keep than I do on Notes, and I have not run out of space, which I love.
I write basically everything worth remembering down, and I love how I can pin a note, do different colors for the pages to color-code them, add drawings, recordings, images, & more.
I definitely recommend downloading this. Some people say it crashes, but it hasn’t got me. I have this on my apple iPad, in case you were wondering.
Overall, great app, definitely recommend.
Glitches Galore 2/5
The design and convenience of Google Keep is, without a doubt, the best on the market. I use it mostly for my grocery list, and it’s convenient to have all the items still on the list after I’ve checked them off. I love that they added the feature that we can indent items. This allows me to make categories so I know which sections each items will be in at the store.
However, there are a lot of glitches that make this app unbearable as well. For one, when I add something to the list, I expect it to be located in the same location it was added. Instead, it pops up in the most random of places. I don’t want popcorn listed in my produce section! It also likes to randomly move things that were already on the list, too, or indent them, un-indent them, or whatever. No, cucumber is NOT a category! And meats and cheeses is not a list item!
The app crashes on me quite frequently, as well. If I go to uncheck an item, it will crash on me. If I go to make a long list, it gets unbearably slow, and with a task that is already tedious, finishing the task becomes a nightmare.
So I will give this app a generous two stars for the things that I like in hopes that my low rating will prompt developers to fix these issues.
Too quick to cut off 2/5
I like it but my main problem is that the audio recording feature cuts off so fast that you can’t finish a thought. It should be a continuous recording until I tell it to turn off or it should last about five seconds after I’m done speaking so that I get all my words captured. One year on, still no control of audio recording. Errr
Slow with multiple accounts, changes default account 3/5
Takes a long time to be useful if you have more than one Google account, especially on a slow (e.g., LTE) connection, and often changes the default account on you, so you have to be on your toes.
An adequate app for keeping small tidbits of information. Yet when it starts up when I have a slow connection and multiple accounts, I get a blank screen for about a half-minute. Plus it freezes for about ten seconds when I share to Keep on a slow connection.
Plus lately it likes to default to a Google account I’ve never used with Keep before, so I keep having to switch accounts before saving.
The ultimate solution is to remove all Google accounts from your iDevice except the one you use the most. Then it’s usable.
Good for Quick Notes and Lists 3/5
This app is good for quick notes and lists. For keeping and organizing meeting notes and projects, use MS One Note.
I wish Google would make an app like One Note or make Keep much more robust.
This app is an embarrassment for google 1/5
Half the time you open the app, despite being on the latest iPhone with 300mbps WiFi, it takes about 10 seconds to unfreeze itself before it accepting any kind of input.
Not good on iPhone 1/5
Best app ever if you have a pixel phone, not good at all on my iPhone. I have a google phone just so I can have a phone that always work and not just sometimes like mi iPhone max
